There's even a chance that they're just similar by coincidence, and took no influence from the character you mentioned. There's nothing new under the sun, as they say.

Man,I wish I could play your game but my big monitor that I had during the spring but accidentally broke it back when I was still in 7th grade this year but I am in 8th grade since September 2023. I have a smaller one but it won’t plug in. And I can’t play it :(

For horror games like these, I just play it in the background and listen to the audio. I checked back afterwards and get jumpscared by the distorted red face after Ryan talked to Gerald. It's 4 in the morning and I'm studying with just a small lamp in my dark room. I forgot how chilling jumpscares are. Like...my entire body was shaking...I freaking hate how scary this stuff is but I love the how the horror is so well excecuted. Horror games, the love hate relationship of gamers.

A subtle hint of the game changing is actually through the starting screen; 0:25 then 3:33 and finally 6:17, notice how on the 3rd time, it greets you with ‘Welcome User!’ With it going back to just ‘Welcome!’ at 7:43
