Here's my take on the plot so far: Gary summers (the guy who got into the fatal car accident) died, and Jason Storm did too (the employee of Razii inc.) and they were both buried in Greenwood cemetery, where the robber would dig up their graves. (I also think the robber is likely the mysterious worker or "new guy" who people weren't sure what he was doing. He was most probably transporting or helping transport Jason Storm and Gary's souls into the games.) Gary summers was somehow transported into Talking Gerald as Gerald, this explains the "Atleast that's what I believe", the "Please don't do this to me, it wasn't my fault. I don't know why I'm here" and, most importantly, the "Tyrannosaurus wrecks" car crash joke. I'm not entirely sure what happened with Jason Storm, but he could've been transferred into Jumping Julian. This would also explain the whole "save the trapped souls" thing. John munkford was probably put into jumping julian and was killed to put him into the game, the terrifying truth of what razii was doing lead him to want to lead people to save others but the kids would not allow it, the 3 souls behind him
What I'd always thought was that Jason Storm had been killed because of his extremely harsh comment on the game Jumping Julian, not sure by who and not sure what happened to him after that, perhaps he was "taken" by Julian and that's why he disappeared and noone found his body. But maybe John Munkford was put into Jumping Julian? Or Julian has a mind of his own and didn't like Jason's comment, so he took him. Idk, just some 3am thoughts that came to my head while watching.

There's a similar game Jack played a while back (I can remember the name) that said Jack/Sean but his computers name was the opposite of what the game had said, 10/10 spook
As a big Simulacra fan, it’s cool to see how much inspiration the dev seem to have drawn from that. Both conceptually and with the subtle door knock and breathing effects. Really hoping this becomes a bigger subgenre of horror gaming because it’s so engaging and effective!
That makes me wonder, why hasn't MatPat been spammed about this game yet? I looked up Jumping Julian GTLive and nothing popped up, we have to get MatPat on this game!
@@CalebVanPoneisen do u think when Jack's comic officially comes out this month (since it's officially December for me as of rn) Matpat will do a comic theory video on it??😂😂
Might I suggest a game called Home then? It's on Steam, you play as a man who can't remember a thing and what happened is entirely up to your own perception of events. In your first play through, you never feel safe, it is very effective setting a tone. Just be warned, there is another game called Home which is the polar opposite in tone and gameplay. :P
Toe curling scares get predictable after a while. Purely unsettling very rarely gets stale Edit: just realized I made a typo while being notified of a reply yesterday. Whoops.

@@TWGatoradeidk some of the stuff he has said on the podcast about stuff he goes to therapy for made it seem like he didnt have the best home life growing up
The creepy "sandwich" thing with the Gerald is actually reversed speech. This is the dialog, from what I can tell, but Jack's laugh makes some difficult to hear. " My parents died when I was young, I had no one to love me. Drinking(?) was the only thing I resorted to. That's why she left me. (And then one or two lines I can't hear due to the laugh.) Now it's too late. That's why I am here. There is some more a bit later at the jumpscare. That speech goes "I can see you. (followed by one or two lines covered by the reaction)" There is a final bit of audio with the creepy child face way later. I thought it was reversed, but after listening forward and back a few times it just sounds like warble-y noises. There might be something but if there is I can't hear it. Those are all the ones I heard that sounded reversed.
You know your indie game has quality if an incredibly popular RUclipsr finds it interesting. I have seen other RUclips videos about it, but much like the developer themself, I never expecting Jacksepticeye to play it. For those who are curious about some of the gibberish found in 98XX, I have embedded two important messages into memory. The first one is found in Talking Gerald. When you reverse the message that you get from the “why do you exist?” option, Talking Gerald talks about his parents dying when he was young and that he had no one to love him. Drinking was the only way he could cope. That’s why his loved one left him. He’s been regretting his actions ever since. The second one is a much shorter backwards message from “Ball Popper”. Getting a game over will result in a jumpscare. It’ll eventually say the following message backwards, “I just wanted to play. I just wanted to have fun; this isn’t fun. I want my mommy.” Jack, if you’ve made it this far into the comment and still want to learn and understand 98XX more, I can provide a link to a video that tries its best to explain it. It’s basically what MatPat would do, but with less cliche lines. It’s actually pretty interesting.
The first reversed message was probably the drunk driver talked about in one of the articles. The second one must be one of the kids who went missing at the game convention.
When Jack got that first system error after jumping Julian, every single hair on my body stood up and I thought I was being watched, I then proceeded to spend the next 5 minutes making sure all the curtains were drawn and all doors locked.
Jacksepticeye at 10:00: Talks about the future and reality of AI AI: *Proceeds to completely f*ck up the entire game until the end of the video* And I took that very personally
i'm still dying at the fact that there was the 'you know i had to do it to em' guy's silhouette under the tree at one point and jack didn't pick up on it (but still a great video as always ^^)
At 3:47, I reversed it, he says the following: “My parents died when I was young. I had no one to love me. Drinking was the only thing I resorted to. That’s why she left me. I know I shouldn’t have done it but it’s too late. That’s why I’m here.” Edit: Then again at 4:37, I think he says something along the lines of “Now I can see, (???) monsters in me” (Sean was shouting so I couldn’t really make it out lol) Edit 2: 44:48 I have no clue, I reversed it but it sounded even more garbled 🤷 Edit 3: I tweeked with the basic pitch of the extracted audio on CapCut. I couldn’t get it perfect, but I think I hear: “I just want you to play. I just want you to listen. Just as you should. I want my mommy.”
That's all really interesting! Never noticed any of those, I was just enjoying Seán's energy lol. @@potatqueen That might be it yeah! I tried lowering Sean’s voice a bit and for a second I thought I heard “there’s bigger monsters than me” but I’m really not sure, I hope he figures it out in the next vid though

10:57 The Hexadecimal code translates to “Let me out! He has trapped us here! We are running out of time!” Edit: Gerald is also the drunk driver, I wasn’t able to get all of what he said from reversing it because Sean spoke over him, but he also says his parents died when he was young.

Hey Jack, cool video! No but really I'm excited to see the community uncover the secrets of this game. I'm sure you missed stuff, as I definitely would too. The disappearances, the drunk driving accident, Razii shutting down, I feel like all have to be connected somehow. That last sequence, finding the keys, and the disappearances all are reminiscent of FNAF lore, like someone did something bad and it snowballed and now people are trapped in the programming kind of thing. I must know more!

These games are certainly too complex to make for most people, a combination of visual/text/audio story, a puzzle, and a horror game all rolled into one, but man it's so cool when one makes a fun one. This was great to watch with you, I had a blast! As a big Simulacra fan, it’s cool to see how much inspiration the dev seem to have drawn from that. Both conceptually and with the subtle door knock and breathing effects. Really hoping this becomes a bigger subgenre of horror gaming because it’s so engaging and effective!
It sucks
It reminds me alot of Inscryption as well with all of the ARG aspects and "real world" interactions this game has.

I think unsettling games will most always be better than downright scary ones
Yep. Just the feeling of uncertain safety is enough for me not to sleep lol
Purely unsettling very rarely gets stale
Edit: just realized I made a typo while being notified of a reply yesterday. Whoops.
Same like scares are great but whats greater is having me convinced that theres something watching me and the game is not something i should play and im in to deep and if i sleep ill be murdered
Idk it hits different when its unsettling

This is the first horror game that's been so effectiveley unsettling that I'm creeped out just watching it. The jumpscares were also very effective!
I came into the comments to see if there were jumpscares, so I appreciate this lol
@@avryantoinettethere are a ton of them throughout the video, just so you're aware! :)
Note: I don't think it was calling you Jacks because of anything to do with your setup. One of the victims in the stories was named "Jack S" - I would assume that the computer we are using is his. The developer of the Jumping game got a bad review from Jack S so he quit being a game developer, got a job at the company where Jack worked, and most likely killed him (the only lore I picked up was from you playing).
So funny lol the developer is jackson, jack is also jack, and the game has a jack s (which looks like short for jacksepticeye)

That speech goes
"I can see you. (followed by one or two lines covered by the reaction)"
There is a final bit of audio with the creepy child face way later. I thought it was reversed, but after listening forward and back a few times it just sounds like warble-y noises. There might be something but if there is I can't hear it. Those are all the ones I heard that sounded reversed.
17:00 indeed jack, 1998 was the year of Resident Evil 2, Fallout 2, Spyro the dragon, Zelda: Ocarina of time, and some other amazing games.
I want my mommy.”
Jack, if you’ve made it this far into the comment and still want to learn and understand 98XX more, I can provide a link to a video that tries its best to explain it.
It’s basically what MatPat would do, but with less cliche lines. It’s actually pretty interesting.
The first reversed message was probably the drunk driver talked about in one of the articles. The second one must be one of the kids who went missing at the game convention.
Talking getald is definitely the drunk driver like id thought but that mommy line is unexpected and so sad
Can I get the link to the video?
This "ARG packed in isolated environment" genre of indie games are quite fascinating indeed.
look at how excited jack is when he finds out the secrets himself ...adorable
When Jack got that first system error after jumping Julian, every single hair on my body stood up and I thought I was being watched, I then proceeded to spend the next 5 minutes making sure all the curtains were drawn and all doors locked.

i'm still dying at the fact that there was the 'you know i had to do it to em' guy's silhouette under the tree at one point and jack didn't pick up on it (but still a great video as always ^^)
At 3:47, I reversed it, he says the following: “My parents died when I was young. I had no one to love me. Drinking was the only thing I resorted to. That’s why she left me. I know I shouldn’t have done it but it’s too late. That’s why I’m here.”
Edit: Then again at 4:37, I think he says something along the lines of “Now I can see, (???) monsters in me” (Sean was shouting so I couldn’t really make it out lol)
Edit 2: 44:48 I have no clue, I reversed it but it sounded even more garbled 🤷
Edit 3: I tweeked with the basic pitch of the extracted audio on CapCut. I couldn’t get it perfect, but I think I hear: “I just want you to play. I just want you to listen. Just as you should. I want my mommy.”
That's all really interesting! Never noticed any of those, I was just enjoying Seán's energy lol. If for that one, maybe it's "the" or "there are", but I'm probably wrong

i love these types of games where we're "in" a computer or a phone and try to solve things from what we find within. Like simulacra or sara is missing. there's something so,,, cool? about having limited information at first but then building the truth by digging around whatever is on the device.
As an epic RUclipsr myself, I would just like to give props to the editor for cutting down 2 whole hours and making it a really fun video to watch. I would cry
Jack's humour gets ramped up by 1000% when he's panicked and I love it
11:06 My ARG brain is like "Ooh Hexadecimal!"
It reads "Let me out! He has trapped us in here! We are running out of time!"
Talking Gerald is definitely Gary the drunk driver... I wonder what would happen if you tell him he's forgiven
It's weird to say but this game is probably the most recent thing to give me anxiety, even Walten Files hasn't disturbed me this much
10:57
The Hexadecimal code translates to
“Let me out! He has trapped us here! We are running out of time!”
Edit: Gerald is also the drunk driver, I wasn’t able to get all of what he said from reversing it because Sean spoke over him, but he also says his parents died when he was young.
This is the hex comment I was looking for ❤

I love this game so much and I'm very happy you played it! Here's some things you can do to unlock Easter eggs
•Hit 2500 on Tank Blast and go into the void
•Reverse the Jump scare audio (that the man and child spoke to you)
•Show the unknown audio in Sound Waves
•Compliment Gerald (do it continuously
•Paint the whole screen to find something...behind..
•go into the note pad and tap the pencil till he says numbers are useful, then type numbers, it should give you a code to... something
Some more hints to lore:
•Think about what Gerald said when you talk down to him "it wasn't my fault", what wasn't his fault?
•Why did Gerald make a car crash joke.
• Look at dates to help figure out a timeline of events
•Look at the mans face in the talking Gerald jump scare...he seens familiar..
I won't spoil everything for you and others!! Can't wait to look for the next episode! ~

Hopefully he still talks to Markiplier. He and his editor lixian always have seizure warnings even for th slightest flashes. Can probably learn from them if he still talks to them.
That first jumpscare gave me a fear I haven't felt since I was a child playing that damn maze game where the scary face pops up

What I like most is how smart Jack is and how interesting he is in playing games. Most likely this is the best let's player, which is so interesting and comfortable to watch. Thanks for the content!
Right as I saw the graphics for Astro Blast, I was like, "Man, I miss the old pinball game these PCs used to have," and then Jacky Boy comes in and says the same thing! That pinball game was legit.

What jack said about not knowing what content people are putting in games is totally valid, there was the infamous GTA: SA Hot Coffee incident, and there was also a game that had its age rating driven up because someone left a recording of a South Park episode in the game files
