This is the 21st century. There is no excuse for any man to treat a woman like this as if it were 1950. Actually, it wasn't right in 1950 either.
Misogyny is a hatred of women. Both men and women can be misogynistic.
This old saw. Women view their own sex like men do for the same reason the poor often see themselves through the lens of the rich. That's why consciousness raising was performed in the seventies. Women don't murder, set women alight, rape or throw acid in their face the way men have been known to do. This is an androcentric world, and one in which women unfortunately are acculturated, to adopt men's outlook on things.
Misogyny is not only that. It can be ingrained prejudice, or contempt aswell. So I can like woman as a whole and still think of them as lesser. I love dogs, although I think they are lesser than human beings.

Oh my! How times have changed! the definition of a misogynist used to mean: a man who hates women. When you water the word "hates" down to "strongly dislikes", your perception of the reality of the situation you are in with the misogynist can be way off the scales. When you come to the realization that a misogynist is ROOTED in hate towards you and NOT just a "strong dislike, you can make better mental health decisions for yourself and your future.
I couldn't agree more. Having the right perceptive on any matter places you in a position to make better choices.
In sorry, could you please give an example on how it would change things to make this distinction between hate and strong dislike? I'm really curious.
@@SarahSkittles1435 When a person perceives that another person "strongly dislikes" them, they may adopt beliefs and strategies to minimize the damage to their self-esteem caused by the misogynist's behavior. For instance, they might convince themselves that the dislike is not directed specifically at them, but rather extends to everyone. Consequently, they may hold onto the HOPE that once the misogynist learns to like them, their actions will change towards them. When deception becomes a source of HOPE, they employ coping mechanisms to endure the abuse. Their primary focus for the future becomes self-preservation and maintaining Hope for change.
Living with this mindset, they experience waking up every day with toxic thoughts of low self-esteem and low self-worth. To add to that, their focus would be to find a way every day to appease the misogynist's anger until the day finally arrives that the misogynist finally starts liking them. Their true selves remain suppressed both at home and in public. They internalize negative beliefs about themselves and adjust their lives accordingly, enduring these conditions for an extended period of time. Sometimes for over 20 years!
On the other hand: When a person comes to the realization that someone directs deep-rooted hate specifically towards them, they no longer deceive themselves by believing that the person simply hates everyone and will one day change their mind and start liking them. Instead, they cease enduring the abuse in the HOPE of a future transformation. They understand that their self-esteem and self-worth should never be dependent on someone who genuinely hates them.
By acknowledging this reality, they grant themselves the opportunity to process their emotions and engage in a more effective self-evaluation. They become capable of setting boundaries, asserting their self-worth, and prioritizing their needs both in the present and for their future. With a newfound understanding, they take realistic steps towards building a life filled with genuine happiness and emotional well-being. They will know this person does not value who they are and will step out to find people who do.
This shift allows them to let go of false hopes and embrace a more authentic path. They recognize that their worth is not defined by the hatred they receive, and they can move forward with a renewed sense of HOPE for a fulfilling and genuine existence.

okay, important points about how many men need to behave differently...can we also please recognize how many women do similar things to men? Touch deprivation is a good example. If a mother is never affectionate to her child we call that neglect and touch-deprivation, yet when a woman refuses to touch or even be touched by her partner you call that her right even when touch deprivation has devastating psychological effects on most people. Can we agree there are misandrist women? How can we heal our society to raise happier, healthier children and improve the reality of women, men, gender expansive people, and children? We need to recognize and address each other's needs and heal our society with mutual respect.

The adoptive mother normalized rationalized and minimized the abuse I endured via the adoptive father and I ALWAYS got BLAMED for his phisical and emotionally abusive behaivours towards me! Thanks to them I've endured DV from several exes in my past and it's bcoz of that I am now a self proclaimed misandrist and my psychotic vengefuelled anger is always directed at men! The woman is a guide for the man. She helps him to make wise choices. The man leads his family while protecting and providing. That doesn't mean he has the last say in everything. He has a responsibility to listen to his wife. God says He will not listen to a man's prayers if he is not being a good husband.

As always, it depends on the context a lot. I never thought that my gynecologist was mansplaining my health to me. But there were instances of mansplaining. And my male boss standing next to me was far more appalled than I was.

Laides this is where yall lose everytime. Women will with no guilt whatsoever say its a mans job to protect and provide, but when a man says its a womans job to cook and clean hes a sexist. Women EXPECT men to play thier role in relationships and most women will NOT accept otherwise. But womens role is optional and negotiable all of the sudden. Thats the issue they're having. You want to be independent but not really cuz you still expect men to take care of you. Im not on their side or saying their abuse is okay, I'm just pointing out the fact that its kinda silly to expect someone to care for you as if you cannot care for yourself and then expect to be on even playing ground with them. When a woman is having kids, thats different. But in my experience most women want men to take care of them regardless of if they currently have kids or the kids are grown or whatever. Women expect the men their men to take care of them, babies or no babies. If you believe they are supposed to serve you in this way then why is it unfair for them to expect you to serve them as well?
And I wanna add I had the term wrong the whole because I thought it meant “someone who does find interest in women” someone who can mind their business without the attraction of women”

Someone else said men hate women cause they can have babies and they feel less than women cause women can and they can’t. But pregnancy isn’t valued, so why would they be jealous? Because they’d rather be pregnant and work at the same. They don’t want women? Having a baby doesn’t give you advantages? So why they jealous? What does it give to men if they can have babies? Being a parent means cleaning up for free, and having to do a lot, why they jealous of that?
It's all about power. Being able to house and bring up life is a position they would want to fill for power reasons (if any), but wouldn't be able to nurture a houseplant past day one. Being the seed bearers isn't enough for men like that. They sure as heck don't want women to have power, the power being the literal gateway of all human being in existence, and this is one thing they can't take from us no matter what they do, so of course, they gotta poo-poo on it, and regulate it in some regions to something painful, r@pey, woeful, call is co-called cursed, and hideous.

I would argue that saying someone's education on a term has to do with their care for woman is more likely closer to misandry than his ignorance is closer to misogyny.

Men are entitled to view woman's sexual attributes as the paramount value in a relationship. Sexism is part of reality. A man that sees a woman as recreational use only is sexist. A woman that sees men as a security resource is sexist. Why is that a problem? People are allowed to view others any way they want in the domain of relationships. It's different to treat woman like a sexual object in any other circumstance, but in the sexual marketplace, it's normal. Woman have no problem judging men on their ambition, confidence, social calibration, and independence. Why can't a man judge a woman on her sexual promiscuity?
