  • A few of the topics and questions I get about this oven from subscribers and from the comment section... things like how to remove and reinstall the door gasket, a easy way to register your oven with warranty, a easy way to clean the ovens quartz elements, a brief description of the 3 different models, the new cleaners and scrub sponges I think work well...(that you should probably read the cleaning suggestions in your owners manual before using... I'm not sure Ninja recommends using all of them but I will let you make your own decision)... I'll say that i tried the new dishwasher tablet trick and didn't think it was something i would use on a regular basis and it didn't impress me very much...I do, however, use some dishwashing powder in this video on the sheet pan and roasting rack and that will also work on most pans you have... but...I also show a new Premium Nonstick Sheet Pan and Roasting Rack that has a Nanoceramic Coating and I believe it has larger openings in the roasting rack for better air flow... Ninja has it on their website but it was currently out of stock at the time of this video... I may purchase one just to show y'all and to compare it to the stock version that came with my ovens...
I know I missed a few things but I hope it helps you in some way...please feel free to ask questions and I will do my best to answer... jelly loves y'all and come back to him when you can!!!
    For the record...
I am not sponsored or affiliated with anyone or any company in any way shape form or fashion at this time and as of 03/2021... that may change one day but for now...I have not accepted free products for over 2 years now and the only compensation or money I receive comes from youtube... they pay me depending on how many times you wonderful viewers watch my video and for how long it is watched... and please believe me when i say that I truly appreciate that...I will say that several kitchen gadget companies have reached out to me to sponsor or showcase their products...(some were really big companies and I have second guessed my decision on more than one occasion) I just don't think it is what this is about... meaning youtube reviews in general... but please understand me... and take my word when I humbly say that i absolutely understand others that do... and I may even do it myself one day... youtube is a lot more work than most people think so I understand why anyone doing it would only try to make as much money as possible... and I'll also say that i don't think free items...or even being sponsored... or even affiliated links...influence most creators reviews or even what they suggest for you to purchase from their Amazon etc. links...(I have purchased many items from the links provided in the video description of the people I myself follow) I trust anyone I follow or I do not follow them... but... I just wanted everyone to know that i am free and clear... at this time... of any outside influence and I understand if that does not matter to you and I also understand why... it is just the path I feel I need to follow at this time...so... I guess I said all of that just to say.....The only way i receive money is when people watch my RUclips videos... therefore I do not have any links for the items I use... you can mostly find any of them by googling the name of it and if it is something I don't mention then please feel free to ask about it and I will try to answer... thanks for your time and I hope you understand...i do want to say that I am literally a one man operation... meaning that I do all the planning... research... recipe test... any lighting or artwork on walls etc... shopping... videoing... editing... answering comments... washing dishes... thumbnail pictures... and taste test...lol... babydoll does help with dishes and some of my show ideas sometimes... but she mainly takes care of the more important things such as keeping our grandchildren... it is her favorite thing on earth by far and without a doubt... it truly makes her very happy... she also reads the Bible a lot... something I hope i can catch up to her on one day... she is also really good at making sure I have clean clothes and ...among many other things she tries to help anyone she can with things like taking them to their doctors appointment...etc... or picking up and keeping some of the best nieces anyone could ever ask for... they are truly...and I really mean it when I say... some really good and lovable kids... she also listens to my constant yammering about what I'm doing next and how I'm going to do it...lol... she's a good one and I know I'm not only blessed but also way too stubborn and picky for very much advice...lol... but... she's my rock and I love her more than i love myself... but...most importantly and with true honesty...I really mean it when i say...I love y'all all... and thanks for being here!!!... jelly

I started watching this video yesterday and finished up today. Fantastic video which I found very helpful. Dang that oven door looks brand-new after the deep cleaning with the Dawn Degreaser; may have to get some of that stuff... Thanks for covering the screen issue from the original DT200 and the DT201 upgrade, that flipped me out when I received me DT201 without the screen and even the Ninja rep I called could not explain why it was missing but shown on their website; glad to hear Ninja updated their website to cause less confusion around the screen. I really like my oven and it does everything I want it to do, EXCEPT fresh dough pizzas; I must be doing something wrong as the cheese burns before the crust is done; more practice I guess... John outstanding job, thanks!

Great video John. I am going to go to Lowe’s and get that Dawn Super Degreaser. I love Dawn dish Soap, it helps to keep your drains from getting that greasy build up. Thanks so much for sharing. I am loving my Ninja Foodi Digital Air Fry Oven. I use it everyday. The best part is I don’t have to turn on my full size oven to bake two to four pieces of chicken or fish. It has taken the place of three counter top appliances, my toaster oven, my old NuWave Oven, and my old egg shaped air fryer. I also love the fact that it flips up and out of the way, freeing up space on my counter top. Thanks John, love you and your channel. Enjoy your weekend.

Hi John, I just viewed this video and I have a cleaning tip for the glass and metal parts. Use Palmolive eco gel dishwasher detergent. You apply a thin layer with a soft toothbrush and let at least 3 hrs and wipe clean with a damp soft cloth. And it cleans the grease off your regular ovens hood vent filter. Apply a generous amount of the gel to both sides of the metal hood screen filter with a toothbrush and set overnight. Then rinse with warm water. Does the same for aluminum baking sheets It's amazing. But it has to be Palmolive eco gel dishwasher detergent! Other brands do not work. Hope this helps. BTW, I finally got a DT251 Ninja Foodie XL Pro as a early Birthday present from my wife and kids. It's on the 20th but was on sale and I couldn't wait 🤣🤣 Thanks to your reviews on it.

You've made another very useful and informative video.
When I saw the layer of baked on grease near the glass on the door, I thought "That won't come off very easily". I was surprised to see how easily and quickly the Dawn degreaser worked.
I know you have both the Breville BOV900 and the Ninja XL and you haven't used the Breville since you got the Ninja. I was going to buy the Breville in December, but Amazon and Best Buy sold out their inventory. While waiting for those vendors to restock, I came across your RUclips videos. Because of your experience, I bought a Ninja XL Air Fryer earlier this week. I'll be buying the Dawn Heavy Duty degreaser as well. Your videos have definitely influenced my buying decisions.
BTW, the local hardware store sells a two pack of silicon baking liners for about $20 Canadian. Do you think it's a good idea to put one of the silicon liners on the crumb tray, just to keep grease from baking onto the crumb tray?

    • @JohnSanders

I want to get the XL version to upgrade the original slim version as the XL is clearly more versatile and I do not need to counter space saving ability of the "flip up" feature. However, I just wonder if they will release something new again right before the holiday season. I do not want another year of buyers remorse!
I do love my original version, but the XL is clearly the better option.
To clean the removable parts of my oven I take a plastic tote, fill it with water, add quarter to half a bottle of Awesome Degreaser from Dollar Tree and they come out sparkling. Of course follow up with dish soap after degreasing. I do this once a week. It's cheap and it works, the basket, the wire rack, and the removable crumb tray all look brand new. I could probably use less Awesome, but at $0.25 - $0.50 a week I'm not worried about it.

John, so I just found your channel and watched a lot of your air fryer ovens....I'm in the market to buy one right now....so am I right to assume you prefer the Ninja XL oven over the Breville Smart Oven Air?....If price wasn't a consideration, which one do you like better?...seems like the Ninja can do all of the Breville except proofing. But I'm more concerned about quality of the food produced (e.g. which one roasts better, air frys better, etc.) Thanks in advance.

That's a very good degreaser for regular cleaning. However, if you want to clean off the baked on grease and grime, your local dollar general should have heavy duty oven cleaner. You just spray it on, let it soak for and hour or so, then wipe it off with a napkin. No scribing needed. For some reason my local Lowe's no longer carries actual oven cleaner

Hello John, this is Dennis Dorr again. Well I bought a DT201 on 3-31-21 and as far as cooking I love it! Unfortunately I noticed something today when making toast. The lettering on the power button and the start stop button is starting to come off. I have never used anything but a slightly damp paper towel or damp cloth to give the handle a slight wipe so I thought I was safe. I will be contacting Ninja tomorrow but was just wondering if you are still having no issues. Must be something to do to keep this from happening. Hope you are doing well, Dennis :)

@@JohnSanders Hello again, I called Ninja this morning and explained what is happening to the lettering. They are sending a new oven without any of the racks which is fine. I hope this one is better because I really like the way it cooks. Trying to think of some way to cover the wording to protect it from happening again. If you think of or hear anything let me know, Dennis :)

Also have to say - these ovens are so cheap, if one gets that dirty, I might just replace it. To replace my very dirty wall oven with a new one would cost over $1,500. I could buy 6 of the Ninjas for that price!

you know the best way to remove grease off is to use old grease .just take paper towel dip in old grease and it will remove grease from any appliance and once you wipe the grease awy then you just wash with any dish soap.

Hi, is the silicone gasket/seal supposed to completely/tightly seal the opening between oven and oven door? My oven, I see space/gap/opening on the the two sides and top of the oven between the silicone and oven, when the door is closed (haven't looked at the bottom).

You would think that something that gets as much use as an oven would have a better system of labeling the buttons that don't rub off with the touch of a finger. I did call Ninja but they said since the oven works, they won't do anything about it.

Why bother going through all the trouble of adding a door gasket when heat escapes through its body. I never seen a toaster oven with zero clearance, full size ovens are and chance of burning yourself by touching outside of it pretty much impossible but toaster ovens its a clear and present danger.
