Know what, every time I think you've now done your absolutely best video, there you go again. My husband says I'm a great cook, but what husband doesn't, but, you are making things turn out ever so much better. Thank you so very much! Sincerely, thank you so much!
Looks wonderful! I've made the baby backs in foil completely wrapped as you showed in another video and they came out great. I did some air roasted pork chops and Brussels sprouts yesterday and even though I made a mistake and forgot to set it for two-level cooking, but changed it for the last couple of minutes and everything was perfect (I put it all in at the same time) so I'm figuring it worked out for the best and didn't blacken the sprouts. I did find a rude surprise while I was cleaning the inside of the oven a bit later. I pulled out the crumb tray just to give it a rinse off and discovered that quite a bit of the juice/grease from previous meals had managed to run under the back edge of the tray. Being baked on a few times it was a real bear to get even most of it off! I did a heck of a job on my knuckles trying to scrub under the bottom element. Glad I found it now or I might have overlooked it as a possibility until it created a problem. Now I know to pull out that tray and clean under it every time.
It is not a bad idea to pull that tray out every once in awhile for sure...I don't know it seeing it to 2 level has much effect... if any...thanks for watching!!!
After returning my first Ninja Foodi XL Pro Oven and finding that the second one was still 25° cooler than temp set on Bake function, I think I figured out why. Most recipes and instructions for prepared foods suggest a cooking temperature for a conventional oven but the Ninja Foodi XL Pro Oven is actually a convection oven. I think that Ninja took that into account in their programming. Normally in my home convection oven I would reduce the temp recommended on the recipe by 25° to have and use the same cook time. BTW I enjoyed the rib video. Thanks.
@@auntbamm I got one yesterday and have only done toast and some air fryer so far. Love nor having to flip things in the air fryer compared to my old one.
Them ribs look awesome and something I will definitely try. For me you can't beat Sweet Baby Rays and I just found their Sweet Red Chili Sauce at the store and it is fabulously tasty. John thanks for sharing!
Thanks Jen Jen...I honestly believe the DT251 ... or... the most expensive of the large ovens is the one to have... not only because of the ability to do many combinations of full meals but also for the ability to do something as large as a 12 pound turkey... or large ham etc ... there is nothing currently on the market that will compete with the variety of items it will do that does it as good as it does... mainly due to the fan design and the large chamber... hope this helps and thank you for watching!!!
Looks great! For an easier way to remove the membrane take a butter knife and slide it up under and loosen it and then use the paper towel as you did so it stays in one piece instead of scraping it apart with the fork
Question for you Jelly. Is the ninja oven from Walmart just as good as the other 2 ninja oven. Can't find the other 2 at a decent price in my area. An Amazon want $400-$500
I think it is OK but it doesn't have some of the features these do... not sure it would matter depending on what you plan to do though...thanks for watching!!!
I have quite a few...lol...I like the digital oven too and it has some really neat features...u don't think you will be disappointed with it...thanks for watching!!!
John- great video! That will probably be the way I try cooking my ribs the next time. Wonder if that would work okay for just baby backs? Also, there is a brand of sugar free BBQ sauce called G Hughes. Ever try that? I am interested in that Fat Daddio pan, saw it on Amazon. To cook ribs in that, would you the same procedure as the way in this video? Keep up the great vids!
I'm on my 3rd one of these ninja 10 in 1s. The first 2 I got warrantied out as the white labels (start/stop, time, temperature) kept wiping away and disappearing. I'm hoping this 3rd one wont have this problem. Have you had any issues like this or know what could be causing my problem?
I have heard this before but none of the 3 I have owned have had this problem... and I use the method to clean them as I have used on any device I have owned... just curious... did you purchase the first 2 from ninja or Amazon and do you use any cleaners that you think contributed to this and if so please share what it was...I would be willing to try it on mine on camera to see if it happens with me... thank you for sharing your experience and thanks for watching!!!
@@JohnSanders Thanks for replying. The first one was purchased from Kohl's. The 2nd unit was the replacement that shipped from ninja. And we made sure to only use water for cleaning the 2nd unit and it still did the same thing.
Thanks for the info in "For the Record". I think it would be fine to accept free products as long as you tell us it was a free product and you also give your honest opinion about the product. (Knowing you I think we could count on you giving us an honest opinion). I enjoyed today's video.
Great video John. I certainly respect your decision to not have sponsors, but it would really be convenient to have hyperlinks to the pans and things you use in your videos. Thanks again for your great videos. You have made me look like a rock star on several occasions.
I don't do links on my channel but I have a video that shows how get them linked below...thanks for watching!!! ruclips.net/video/jPCnhAszddI/видео.html
Hi John- Those ribs look 🧨! I’m guessing that if you had enough ribs to fill up both sheet pans, that there would be no difference in the cook temps or time, correct?! I have the casserole dish which is a bit deeper than the sheet pan, so maybe that’ll help with my cup not “runnething” over with all that liquid. With my luck, I would be concentrating so much on NOT spilling any liquid that just when I thought I made it, Murphy’s Law would suddenly kick in! ( LOL). Just have to see how well I can fit the ribs in the dish without having them overlap.👌
Thanks Dave!!! And I do recommend a deeper dish if you have it and I might add 15 minutes or so for 2 pans... but Murphy has his way so be careful...lol...thanks for watching!!!
I'll tell you what John you know what the deal is when it comes to spare ribs, I have seen other videos on RUclips cooking in air fryer ovens trying to convince people to cook spare ribs at 400 degrees for a lot less time and then say they were really tender? I just really have to laugh at that because there is no way to cook ribs but one way and that is what you just did, low and slow. Whether it be on a grill, a smoker, or in any kind of oven. As of now technology has not produced a way to get the best ribs using a higher heat and a faster method. And I for one believe that the wait is well worth the reward!
I watched this video because of the title "Air Fryer," hoping to learn how to use my toaster oven with convection to potential cook ribs a bit faster. But I got confused because the way you cooked those ribs is the same as how I prepared ribs, to an extent. Mine were cooked at 275 for 2 hours. I'm not sure where air fryer " came into the equation other than name of product

What ends up being the texture difference between baking the ribs with all that juice and pressure cooking?
I think this way retains a little more flavor...imho... but they are both excellent methods...thanks for watching!!!

Using Duo crisp for ribs, why use fat DaddyO instead of crisp basket ??
Is the Ray’s “sugar free” actually sugar free, or does it have ‘sugar substitutes’???
Link for fat daddy o ?? I got 8 Qt Duo crisp and it should fit.
