Just finished listening this album, wow, what a masterpiece, I'm really glad people are giving DT very positive reviews on this, instead of the usual complaining about everything.
There's just one downside to this album... Is that DT has set the bar too high for the people that always expect better...
If DT decides to launch a more straightforward album next time, which will most certainly happen, it will be highly criticized, I know how the "fans" work, even many comments say this is a way to say sorry for the last 2 albums, but I loved the other 2 albums, I thought they were amazing, specially the self titled one.
People must understand that DT can't always be producing a "Scenes from a Memory" album, there's just so much the human mind can do.
So please 3 rules: Forget about the past albuns, Forget about Portnoy ffs, and enjoy the gift of their music being given to us at each moment. It's all I have to say.

Only real dream theater is 1993 Dream Theater, pre-JLB-vocal-chord damage, kevin moore keyboards WDADU & IAW, BRING PORTNOY BACK, no DT without portnoy this is a different band, only the old albums are good and so on and so forth!!!!
