Mike looked a bit frustrated when he was saying that LaBrie's gonna sing if he decide to show up.
I can imagine him saying 'where the hell are you?' on phone...
And claiming that guitar review might bore them is harsh.Petrucci was a bit like 'You're gonna make me smash a guitar on your head someday'.
Actually that explains why he got that much muscle. To hit with enough power....

At 2:05 ladies and gentlemen we see a true legend in music, Ted Greene. Everytime I see him or hear his name in a new context, I have to write something about him. Ted Greene sadly died in 2005. He was a fantastic guitarist, and teacher with a knowledge so vast its hard to imagine. He wrote some amazing books, as Chord Chemistry and two others about chord progressions. His partner Barbara have a youtube channel, TedGreeneArchives. See it, and be amazed and inspired by Ted. Best, Sandemose

6DoIT is one of the best albums made by DT, specially disc 2. The mixture of prog-rock and pop is just amazing... I could listen to it all day long and never be bored... ADTOE had less appeal to the hardcore fans of I&W and 6DoIT.

Nice the input from you. I would expand on the question of degree. It is also the feel and understanding of the individual listener to what level he might understand the music as an inspiration, copycut, stolen material, etc. Going very close to the style of next band is in my opinion almost always calculated as the sound equipment is pretty difficult to tune into similar sound just by accident (as a whole unit). I do understand and appreciate your intelligent comment. Very rare these days.

  • @micanut48

You are correct in your assessment. However, I think you would agree that if it was not for stolen riff (or else), the so called inspiration would've not happened. Most often, bands ache after coming with a killer riff because that's what their songs stand on (and that's what people usually remember the most). That's why many of these things end up in courts - it is often comical to hear arguments from each side. Stealing riffs in "smart" way = lot's of money... Good discussion, though

it's cause they don't do it for the money..they don't let a record label own them...they make the rules..and they also have fun with it..not like a freaking pop star, they can't even go outside without somebody wanting an autograph or a picture, or try to kill em..DT lives doin' what they love, and are respected..i don't know if the term "fame" is an accurate use for them..i should say they are well respected, and are awsome musicians... fame is what kills a band.. rock on

They make a ton of money, because their studio time costed $500,000 for SC as Mike claims. That was out of their own pocket I believe. He also claims that the band has the money to bring their families on tour and call the shots on when and where they tour; that is very expensive. You would really never know and I love to keep it that way. I suppose they are famous too, but to each his own opinion on the matter. Great comment with a respectful debate.
