The moment?? You think he just called her that in that very moment that night?? They worked together you asshole!!! He obviously has called her Sandrita many times before you moron!!!
“Oh, we forgot one: Harold Ramis for ‘Caddyshack,’ ‘Ghostbusters’ and ‘Groundhog Day.'” Best Moment of the Night for me, and it didn't involved singing, dancing or criticism of the society of today. It was only 5 seconds, and it was so simple yet it touched me more than any of the speeches made that night; it was a dedication to a friend. Murray, you are amazing, and Harold.... We'll Miss You RIP
FilmGamer Yeah...admittedly the one thing that makes the shout-out awkward. (Btw, Stevan Larner shot _Caddyshack,_ László Kovács shot _Ghostbusters,_ and recent infamous Academy president John Bailey shot _Groundhog Day.)_
This was one of the most deserving moments of the night and an overdue win for Lubezki. He should won either for Children of Men or for The Tree of Life. But it is very sad that Mr. Deakins one of the best cinematographers of all time is still waiting.
His techniques and styles are challenging in the way he moves his camera and build up his shots with the right lighting and spacing. Is hard to put his work in one basket, because the diversity in his shots from film to another. He has the ability to keep his spirit onto his shots the same time his technical aspect in his shots matches psychologically and philosophically with the filmmaker's vision. "This happens, that two amazing directors, two amazing artists in two completely different ways try to express something similar”Lubezki says.
With Gravity also winning Best Visual Effects, this marked the 5th year in a row where Best Cinematography and Best Visual Effects both went to the same movie. First Avatar, then Inception, then Hugo, then Life of Pi, then Gravity. Since this, it's happened twice. In 2018 with Blade Runner 2049 and then two years later with 1917, and both times, Cinematography went to Roger Deakins.
Bill Murray, I have a new respect for you after that Harold Ramis shoutout: Harold Ramis for Caddyshack, Ghostbusters and Groundhog Day. I don't know if you and Harold ever made up and made their peace, but I am sure Harold is looking up in heaven. :)
Bill went to Highland Park, IL to visit Harold Ramis shortly before he died. In typical Bill Murray fashion, he came unannounced. I'm sure Harold Ramis didn't mind. They made their peace.
As much as Tree of Life had breathtaking cinematography, I think Hugo and how Richardson not only captured beautiful imagery but also moved well with the camera without losing focus (unlike in most action films nowadays) gave it the upper edge. Both films are beautiful though.
BlueFox94 The Tree of Life's photography was part and parcel of its narrative. It's not only one of the mot beautiful films ever shot, its entire point is the composition of its images. Hugo looks good, The Tree of Life is a fucking Titian painting. How can you even compare the two?
Jonmad17 Because Hugo's camera movement and 3D compares just as well to Tree of Life's gorgeous composition. I'm not going to say one was better than the other. Both were 2011's cinematography standouts for me. In terms of just the Academy Awards, Hugo's victory had the advantage of being Scorsese, the film with the most nominations, and the more innovative with its masterful use of 3D. At least Chivo has his Oscar now for Gravity.
Emanuel Lubezki is one of my favorite cinematographers today. Not to take anything away from him, but why is it that gravity was nominated and interstellar failed to even garner a nomination for hoyte. I enjoyed his work in her last year. I thought at least a nomination since Lubezki is probably taking this one home as well.
+Eduardo Campos He's not talking about Nolan for Best Director. He's talking about the cinematography for Interstellar. Nolan's films usually nab nominations except for Best Director.
a lot of great movies deserved nominations this year as well, 12 Years a Slave, Her, The Great Beauty, and man it wouldve been awesome to see Upstream Color but we all knew that wasnt gonna happen
Gravity's cinematography is deeply lyrical! Well deserved win for Emmanuel. By the way, Amy you are gorgeous and can't wait to see you next month in Batman V. Superman and Bill Murray too bad you passed the Ghostbusters torch to 4 women!
I cant imagine a set in wich the director and cinematographer are mexicans...and other people in the cast...the rest of the cast will end up speaking some spanish including bad words, learning how to drink tekila and having a good sense of humor...
Fun fact: not all Mexicans drink tequila, a lot of them don't even like it or it's not popular in some regions. Even in Jalisco there's a lot of people who hate it. Writing this I'm wondering if it's the same for Scottish and whiskey...
I think Hollywood is fawning a little too hard at Lubezki phenomenal DP work which is a more or less better than the actual movies that get a ton of praise
While I love Lubezki, imo Deakins should have won. Prisoners was totally snubbed for a lot of catagories that year, inc. best Picture & editing. Too bad the Academy cant recognize those Amazing immersive & Deep, dark storytelling Movies with great screenplay & plot. Just like the next year with Nightcrawler, Gone Girl & Interstellar. Screw them.

My favourite oscar moment, it was one friend giving the greatest tribute to his mate. RIP Harold Ramis and god bless Bill Murray
FilmGamer Yeah...admittedly the one thing that makes the shout-out awkward.
(Btw, Stevan Larner shot _Caddyshack,_ László Kovács shot _Ghostbusters,_ and recent infamous Academy president John Bailey shot _Groundhog Day.)_
@FilmGamer he didn't really have much choice in which award he was presenting, he wanted to keep it short and sweet
Emmanuel Lubezki deserved that so much! That oscar was overdue!!
This conversation escalated very quickly
This was one of the most deserving moments of the night and an overdue win for Lubezki. He should won either for Children of Men or for The Tree of Life. But it is very sad that Mr. Deakins one of the best cinematographers of all time is still waiting.
The Tree Of Life was hauntigly beautiful.
The tree of life is one of my favorite films of all time
Or A Little Princess
Don't worry. He won two Oscars for Blade Runner 2049 and 1917.
@@rickardkaufman3988i know it’s late but I’m so happy he did!!!
RIP and long live Harold Ramis (November 21, 1944 - February 24, 2014), aged 69
You will always be remembered as a legend.
That hug with Roger Deakins should be iconic. Best of the best at what they do.
"My teachers, not all of them but some of them" lol
So true because there are teachers out there who discourage and don't believe in you.
Love that all the nominees sat together... and they were the only ones to give a standing ovation when Emmanuel won!
"To my teachers, not all of them but some of them"
2:17 "Cabron..."
JAJAJAJAJA chingón!
Harold Ramis.
Caddyshack

I loved "Caddyshack" !
According to sources, once he found out he was sick, Bill went to Harold's house and made peace with each other
Bill went to Highland Park, IL to visit Harold Ramis shortly before he died. In typical Bill Murray fashion, he came unannounced. I'm sure Harold Ramis didn't mind. They made their peace.
I bet, he will win the 3rd Oscar one after another next year for The Revenant!
He got it ;)
+intérprete 92 That was so clear, but I was more happy about Leos win. I nearly cried ^^
+MsOnkel01 Though this film was not for which he deserved the Oscar. He had much better movies than this one.
+Daniel Kay Of cause, but in every year there was a great performance, too from another actor. But now he got it.
+MsOnkel01 And I don't say that they were not good enough to win instead of Leo. That were great performances as well.
Gravity, Birdman & The Revenant.#Mexico
I would never understand why The Tree of Life didn't win for best cinematography.
As much as Tree of Life had breathtaking cinematography, I think Hugo and how Richardson not only captured beautiful imagery but also moved well with the camera without losing focus (unlike in most action films nowadays) gave it the upper edge. Both films are beautiful though.

Coz Robert Richardson was legendary and Marty already had the upper hand...!!!
Lubezki did a great job on the film.
I do hope one day Roger Deakins will win one.
I'm from the future. Deakins won for _Blade Runner 2049_ in 2017.

Love the Harold Ramis shoutout ! Bill Effin Murray!
It's about time Emmanuel Lubeszki won an oscar. He is a great cinematographer.
Bill, you didn't have to apologize. To ANYONE.
Emmanuel is going to win again this year for Birdman!!
Meanwhile, poor Roger Deakins will lose again
Have you seen "Mr. Turner" ? Dick Pope is also good...
For sure!

Nope, but I would like to watch Mr Turner. Too bad people remember him as "Dick Poop"
You guessed it right sir
+richfictionfighter 2016: Emmanuel is going to win again for The Revenant. Meanwhile, poor Roger Deakins will lose again for Sicario

Ironically how Wong Kar-Wai movies started to get Oscar nomination for best cinematography after he stopped working with Christopher Doyle

When will Roger Deakins ever win?
This year
This year i think, the only one who could beat him would be Hoyte van Hoytema
An Oscar and a hug from Roger Deakins.
God when will Roger Deakins win academy award ?
lets hope today
+Akash Suryawanshi When Emmanuel Lubezki isn't nomianted.
+Xplozhun85 Deakins is far better , doesn't need special effects either.
I guarantee he will win one for "Blade Runner 2049". If he doesn't I'm officially tuning out of the Oscars...for good.
Patrick Bateman Hoyte van Hoytema has a pretty good chance too. But I really hope this is the year for R. Deakins.
