My thoughts are that 1) it's going to have to go to court and 2) I'm willing to contribute to a fund that will both pay for legal proceedings and assist Q, if necessary, with staying in business. The law for this was created in the 1930s when a lot of people were hunting to survive and the government started banning hunting. Supposedly short barreled rifles were a problem bc people could hide them easier and still hunt. It's complete bullshit.
Because a short barrel makes it potentially concealable, and the government generally doesn’t like it when high powered firearms (rifles & shotguns) can be easily concealed.

Canadian here.......let me tell you about the RCMP and the CFO's......I wish we only had to deal with ATF style rulemaking bureaucrats. 2 of my hunting rifles were banned in may. Like I will be arrested on the spot if it leaves my house for any reason.
Concerning ATF’s recent idea that some domestically-made versions of braced-pistols may be NFA Short-barreled rifles, keep in mind that the same firearm can have the elements which satisfy the definition of an SBR and the elements which satisfy the definition of an AOW. However, regardless of whether the gun is found to be an unregistered SBR or unregistered AOW, the criminal charge is still a violation of the same law (26 USC 5861(d)). There is also the ridiculous fact while ATF might consider an imported braced AR pistol an AOW, that there’s been no mention by ATF of American-made braced AR pistols being AOWs, since they would likely have the same features. However, ATF has referred to many of them as possibly being short-barreled rifles (SBR). This definition can only fit if the two salient elements of that definition are present. Those are, having a barrel shorter than 16”, and being “designed to be fired from the shoulder” ATF’s insistence about braced AR pistols being SBRs resulted in ATF being notified by seven members of Congress on 6/16/20, that ATF has given the public mixed signals on this issue since 2012, and that their recent opinion has put many gun owners in legal jeopardy without clearly-stated guidelines as to what ATF believes makes these guns SBRs. ATF then had to respond to the letter from Congress in writing with the parameters they use to consider some braced pistols SBRs. Their written response was in the form of a General Notice, published in the Federal Register. It’s important to note that when ATF wants to follow the channels prescribed by law to make a change which has the force and effect of law, they must publish in the Federal Register what is known as a Proposed New Rule Making, allowing the public 90 days to respond with its opinions on the proposed change. The fact that they only published a General Notice on this issue, rather than an NPRM, didn’t require a 90-day comment period. The 17 days allowed for public comments ends on 1/4/21. Once a ruling is reached it can now be used in favor of or against other rulings. God is the supreme ruler of all. By your logic then we are all being a bit covetous of material possessions instead of storing up our treasures in heaven as the supreme law states. There will always be tyranny of all forms. An unjust law doesn’t make anyone a felon because it is simply unjust and it will be regarded as such.
This seems like a small step to do away with the ar pistol platform. Some people choose the pistol platform instead of sbr so they can carry it or leave it loaded in a vehicle under their ccw per say
So here's what I would do: continue making the same gun. change like literally 1 part, trigger, brace...whatever. give it a different serial number, different name (say, "hon3y badg3r"), change the price by $0.01. then no SBR. done. then as long as they keep playing these games, you can find ways around them by doing something like this.

My thoughts are that 1) it's going to have to go to court and 2) I'm willing to contribute to a fund that will both pay for legal proceedings and assist Q, if necessary, with staying in business.
I think that the effect of this kind of ruling on disabled shooters should be hammered and hammered and hammered on. Turn it into a bigoted attack on a minority and go from there.

The law for this was created in the 1930s when a lot of people were hunting to survive and the government started banning hunting. Supposedly short barreled rifles were a problem bc people could hide them easier and still hunt. It's complete bullshit.
Because a short barrel makes it potentially concealable, and the government generally doesn’t like it when high powered firearms (rifles & shotguns) can be easily concealed.

Concerning ATF’s recent idea that some domestically-made versions of braced-pistols may be NFA Short-barreled rifles, keep in mind that the same firearm can have the elements which satisfy the definition of an SBR and the elements which satisfy the definition of an AOW. However, regardless of whether the gun is found to be an unregistered SBR or unregistered AOW, the criminal charge is still a violation of the same law (26 USC 5861(d)).
There is also the ridiculous fact while ATF might consider an imported braced AR pistol an AOW, that there’s been no mention by ATF of American-made braced AR pistols being AOWs, since they would likely have the same features. However, ATF has referred to many of them as possibly being short-barreled rifles (SBR). This definition can only fit if the two salient elements of that definition are present. Those are, having a barrel shorter than 16”, and being “designed to be fired from the shoulder”
ATF’s insistence about braced AR pistols being SBRs resulted in ATF being notified by seven members of Congress on 6/16/20, that ATF has given the public mixed signals on this issue since 2012, and that their recent opinion has put many gun owners in legal jeopardy without clearly-stated guidelines as to what ATF believes makes these guns SBRs.
ATF then had to respond to the letter from Congress in writing with the parameters they use to consider some braced pistols SBRs. Their written response was in the form of a General Notice, published in the Federal Register. It’s important to note that when ATF wants to follow the channels prescribed by law to make a change which has the force and effect of law, they must publish in the Federal Register what is known as a Proposed New Rule Making, allowing the public 90 days to respond with its opinions on the proposed change. The fact that they only published a General Notice on this issue, rather than an NPRM, didn’t require a 90-day comment period. The 17 days allowed for public comments ends on 1/4/21.

Sounds to me like these braces are in common use and cannot be banned as has been past practice of rulings by the scotus.
They should be protected, but the dumb ass ruling on bump stocks gave the atf a foothold to make up rules that they have no leagal right to do.

Once a ruling is reached it can now be used in favor of or against other rulings. God is the supreme ruler of all. By your logic then we are all being a bit covetous of material possessions instead of storing up our treasures in heaven as the supreme law states.
There will always be tyranny of all forms. An unjust law doesn’t make anyone a felon because it is simply unjust and it will be regarded as such.
This seems like a small step to do away with the ar pistol platform. Some people choose the pistol platform instead of sbr so they can carry it or leave it loaded in a vehicle under their ccw per say

So here's what I would do: continue making the same gun. change like literally 1 part, trigger, brace...whatever. give it a different serial number, different name (say, "hon3y badg3r"), change the price by $0.01. then no SBR. done. then as long as they keep playing these games, you can find ways around them by doing something like this.
