    ➡️ bit.ly/2VQnFFR
Owning a gun is a constitutional right, not a privilege, you can’t deny someone the right to a gun when they haven’t committed crime, much less convicted of one. That’s the very definition of a minority report situation.
They threw up some Minecraft character and called him dangerous man 2.0 without telling us what it is that makes him dangerous. They literally just made up the third category and said, trust us, he’s dangerous, he hasn’t committed any crimes, but he’s dangerous. And y’all wonder why we’re against red flag laws.
This failed solution is not about background checks. All those checks that she claims this system will have are all agencies that are already obligated to submit records to the FBI Database. Whether these government agencies actually do it is not our problem. You don’t get to make it harder for us to exercise our Constitutional rights because these government agencies can’t do their job.
What this system is about is making buying a gun as expensive, time-consuming, confusing, and as difficult as possible. Not to mention to create a de facto gun registry.
I just want to point out that we’ve been dancing this issue for long enough, the second amendment has nothing to do with hunting, it’s about protecting the people’s ability to fight off a tyrannical government foreign or domestic.
They don’t like to say this because well no one wants to believe that they’ll have to fight a government much less their own government. Yes, it’s a scary thought but you need only look at what’s going on in Hong Kong and Venezuela to see that it is very much possible.
The only thing governments respect and fear is an armed civilian population. It is a deterrent against the tyrannical aspirations of any government, yes even our own. We should be embracing this not vilifying it or sugar-coating it. We’re the only population of people that has this power. Stop trying to give it away.
Not to mention, the vast majority of people selling guns at guns shows are dealers.
With over 65% of gun deaths being suicides, America does not have a gun crisis. Gun violence isn’t even the top 10 leading causes of death in America. More people die from the Flu than they do from gun violence. So, if America has a crisis, it’s the Flu, not my Sig Sauer P320.
The whole point of this scheme is to make buying a gun so hard you won’t want to do it. Do know how incredibly messed up it is to make exercising a constitutional right so much of burden that you won’t want to exercise it.
This is insane. Imagine having to go through a 3-week process before you can exercise your 1st Amendment rights. People would lose their minds.
Not to mention they’re literally telling us this system would deny people the right to own a gun who don’t have a criminal record. This is mind-boggling.
At this point, people are realizing universal background checks are useless and is nothing more than Trojan horse to create a national gun registry. The Depart of Justice literally said you can’t enforce a universal background check with a national gun registry.
Now they’re pivoting to a new scheme that uses the inherent weakness of a universal background check to push something even more sinister, GUN Licensing.
I tell you over and over and over, there is no such thing a reasonable gun law. Universal background checks were supposed to be reasonable and now they’re saying it’s not good enough and now want gun licensing and they haven’t gotten the universal background checks yet.
The solution will always be more restrictions so there is no compromising only giving and giving while they take and take and ask you to give some more.

    In Uruguay we have:
    - Universal background checks
    - Universal Psych exam
    - Universal Medical exam
    - Needing to go through a gun course and a test with the (equivalent to) SWAT
    - Proof that you make enough money to support yourself and dependants and job antiquity of at least 12 months making said amount (subjective). This proof needs to come from social security which we re all obligated to be enrolled to and all of our paychecks to go through it by law.
    - We need to provide proof of residency
    - We need to provide fingerprings
    - The balistics of the gun are registered (extractor and pin markins, etc)
Everything needs to be re done every a maximum of 5 years or when you buy a new gun
YOU CANNOT CARRY YOUR FIREARM OUTSIDE YOUR PROPERTY unless you:
    - Do private security of valuable goods (like armored trucks of money)
    - Are police and in uniform
    - Are military in uniform and on duty
    - Are a Judge or prosecutor
    - have a credible and recent threat on you or a loved one (like a mafia boss putting a hit on you or ar ex who tried something before and is on the loose)
And then you need to carry it opened always.
Even if you go through all of it, you're capped at .45 caliber.
    No military style rifles
No semi automatic rifles of any sort (even if non military)
    No Auto EVER
    No hollow point
We are capped at 3 firearms
Guess what? US murder rate is 5.0/100k uruguay's is 8.2/100k
there are around 500k registered firearms at an average of 1 per person. Out of 3.4 citizens. Around 700k illegal weapons, not acquired legally (stolen from police, military, or through smuggling)
So, not only there's a lot of murder, but they have more guns that the police, military and legal gun owners combined

Assume all guns we are aware of Which are the legal ones are gone. Using the killings from EU, do you think it would make a difference? Now what about those guns we can’t trace? Those are gonna be the ones mostly used by felons , as much as we tell them not to, they are the ones using them. Not the people you want to take guns from. I won’t even get into the whole reason for the 2nd amendment. Your argument is just a stupid one. As a disabled vet that's actually had to go see a psychiatrist just to get clearance for a surgery to implant a spinal cord stimulator to treat severe chronic pain from nerve damage I can personally attest to how screwed up ppl in the mental health system really are. The Dr overheard me speaking to another vet about hunting. That alone led her to deny my clearance & she requested that I needed "extensive counseling" before I could be cleared. Mind you this is all happening as the nation is going nuts over the "opiod epidemic" & instead of cracking down on illegal drugs & pill mills they're going after all highly trained & legitimate pain specialists & their patients so my meds had already been forcefully reduced by govt actions. Took several months to get my intake appt for counseling & once there I spoke indepth with a different psychiatrist, for ~ twice as long, & she ended up apologizing to me for the actions of her colleague then told me I should file a complaint with out pt advocate as well as the hospital director & she would be filing 1 as well. Ended up delaying my surgery by almost 1 full yr anyway. Before anyone says anything, no I've never told any VA worker I own weapons. Like I said, the witch overheard me talking to another vet in an odd shaped waiting area. Just hoping the stimulator helps enough with my pain so I can stop taking my pain meds & go get my LTC. Been taking it for over 20yrs & never felt anything even resembling a high but from what I've been told by 2 different instructors the state won't let me get my license.

@@michelmakeer7624 I am a South African, I do not live in a 'gated security village', or an elite suburb. I have lived in Hillbrow[Jhb], Point[Dbn], Central[PE], and a number of informal settlements. There is violence and crime, poverty in the extreme alongside great wealth.
Most people are not armed with firearms. Those that are kill a lot of people, they are slowly reducing in number as is the overflow of automatic weapons from the Cold War proxy wars that flooded the country, adding to those the Apartheid government inserted. As the number of guns reduces so do the killings. People killed in crimes of poverty, escalate when all the poor have in the way of dignity are their 'guns', and trust me it is not the rich being shot.
The prevalence of firearms in the USA provides the absurd degree in which 'Officer Safety' exculpates LEO's from accountability in excessive force shootings. The dual profiling of race and crime added to the 'likelihood', have given your police virtual free-fire rules of engagement. In my military training and operational service there had to be clear presentation and intent to fire a weapon in order to employ deadly force. Also your ridiculous stand your ground and castle domain laws make shooting someone relatively unproblematic, in some states you would serve more time if you hit your opponent with a stick and they survived. If there is crime in your neighborhood, sort it out, speak to the authorities as a community, speak to the gangsters as well. Often in an oppressed society it is the best that become criminals, they are reclaimable. That is patronizing I know, nevertheless true.

saun lee coetzee the problem is that the “authorities” may or may not have an incentive to help the community or its people. You are assuming that those in power always have the best interests of their people at heart and will act accordingly and not based on whatever ideology they may hold. A free citizen should not have to justify or advocate for their rights from the state. I’m not talking about perks or privileges that others provide, I’m talking about the freedom of speech the right to challenge authority if their “solutions” punish more good than bad and the right to defend yourself from others attempting to strip you of your rights whether it be a criminal or a tyrannical government. Negotiating with people that want nothing else but to keep taking means they will continue to take until your either dead or submissive. Which is why the 2nd amendment exists. What you’re talking about is appeasement. You wanna talk lets talk but don’t demand dialogue when you’re trying to kill or take from me.

@Aaron Kiest I have had anti gun people, the wife of a great mechanic to boot, tell me you have to have a license to buy a car before so I don't assume anything when it comes to statements like that. And to that let me ask you a question. If you have to have a license to buy a car but you have to drive a car to get a test for your license how would anyone get a car? Also having to have a license to own something that is not inherently dangerous by itself is stupid. I can see having to be licensed to keep something like 95% peroxide or something that can at room temperature conditions degrade into a contact explosive but guns and cars sit where you leave them and will do nothing unless someone uses them. That 95% pure peroxide though, a week or more at room temperature can give you a bomb that can spontaneously ignite or explode. So be free, have guns and cars and remember if you have hazmat compounds to follow all applicable safety precautions, because it would be a shame to loose your trigger finger.

However their polling is supposed to encompass a wide variety of people and backgrounds in an attempt to make up for the inability to poll the whole country. But when they make statements like that it's obvious they just mean group of people that were polled that are representative of the country. Now if they did a bad job in their polling and only choose to poll people with specific opinions them they would receive scrutiny from the community and likely wouldn't be doing any other pollings after being exposed. And then any responsible news sites would pull down any content relating to that information or risk themselves from also being scrutinized and lose subscriptions and money.

Mattew Payne two things wrong with your words.
1: speech has killed people due to gross negligence. Think about that girl that talked her boy friend into killing himself. There’s also the cases where people yelled fire or bomb which led to people being trampled to death. What about cults using speech to convince their congregation to kill themselves? Free speech has led to death in many different fashions. We shouldn’t take away the right to free speech because some people suck.
2: it doesn’t matter. The reason the founders gave us rights is so that the government couldn’t interfere with those actions. It doesn’t matter if fire arms lead to death, as long as it’s a right, it can’t be infringed. It doesn’t matter if it’s speech or the right to own guns. It’s a right.
You shouldn’t be so complicit in the government infringing our rights. If you want gun control, call for a new amendment or a constitutional convention to change the constitution. Don’t make the words meaningless, otherwise the government has supreme power, which no one wants.

Further, the whole point of licensing is to establish the gov't right to infringe upon the individual's right until the gov't infringement is no longer questioned as being its right to do so. When - not if - when this is accomplished then the law changes so that only The Chosen may "reasonably acquire a license." Such is the history of licensing the world over.
