I'm a former police officer, firefighter and medic. I offered the schools in my area to be their Resource Officer - and all turned me down because "we don't need this", "we can't pay you" (I would have volunteered), "it scares the kids", "the parents won't like a militant presence in the school". There you have it. But they have no problems sending billions to foreign countries protecting foreign people

My school back in 1971, a junior high school had a Tucson Police resource officer. Without any intimidation he steered me in the right direction when I was 13. Not sure if he knew it, but God did, I hope I see that man in heaven when I get there!! He was also directly involved in my positive attitude of police officers so much that I served with the Air Force Security Police for 6 years, then served with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office for another 20 years. In 1971 we had no fear of someone coming on the campus armed to kill us kids, it was not even a thought.

You nuts in USA are crazy.
We dont have 'resource officers'. I had to look it up. You guys have police officers at school full time during a school day. That is a joke. We would have police officers come maybe once or twice a year to do a talk for 15mins about 'staying out of trouble' etc. We dont have a cop on school property 9am - 3pm. everyday. That is ridiculous and a waste of resources.

@@random19911004 Gang violence was bad in the 80s-90s like you would have gangs of all sorts in one highschool and next thing you know they throwing fists or stabbing during school and worst case scenario shooting them right outside the school. It's more tone down now since everyone is trying to make money with mostly gang violence centralized around in-fighting rather than warring with other gangs and the zones of "conducting" has already been established in the early 2000s.

I was present immediately after a school shooting very early in my career. As an EMT, we had only one victim to treat, who unfortunately died from a close quarters shotgun blast. The reason its not news at the Acushnet Elementary School in Acushnet MA (back in 1998 I think it was) is very simply because the principal, seeing the gunman walk by his office and head towards the library full of kids, TACKLED the suspect and held him while others removed the firearm. Spot on, only way to stop violence is to be prepared to do violence.

      1993 to be exact.
In December 2001, Washington Post wrote up your neighboring town, New Bedford, as an example of how the system worked. The Post's observation, and I tend to agree, the city is so hardscrabble, expecially back then, that the attitude was not the "it would never happen here" of a more wealthy district. New Bedford was more like "damn right it could happen here, it WILL happen here, if it can happen aywhere it could happen here". So they prepared for it. Active shooter drills, being on the lookout for suspicious behavior and all that. Sure enough, they found the suspicious behavior, student mouthing off about violence. Police investigated, and they found the weapons and explosives. The kids involved were interviewed, and like Massad Ayoub points out here, it's important NOT to give these kids publicity. The kids involved said they wanted to outdo Columbine.

Seek out kinetic combat pistol training. .

I am a retired music teacher and a Navy Veteran.. I've been trained as a NRA Pistol Instructor and attained Marksman upon completing the 250 Pistol course offered by Gunsite Academy. I always asked the RSO if he would like assistance if the situation was dire. I was always prepared for this and subscribed to all local laws in doing so. I suggested that teachers who are military veterans be given the opportunity to train as Auxiliary Police officers allowing them to carry in schools legally. 6 APOs could accomplish the goal of keeping students safe because of three advantages, 1) they know the foot print of the school., 2) they know the students who will take instruction from them as a matter of course, 3) and their training is consistent with the police in that jurisdiction. As with your mention of the principal at Sandy Hook, teachers have demonstrated over and over again their willingness to protect their students with the same dedication the Secret Service protects our Presidents. They should be armed and once this becomes public knowledge, the shootings would end because the cowardly bastards would find another soft target. I developed this in 2012 and the administrators are as cowardly as the evil shooters.

Kentac, I wholeheartedly agree, and intend to send this clip to as many people and as many places as I can think of! I spent almost 20 years developing school safety plans in one of the most liberal, anti-gun states in the nation. When I left (forced out by the administration, who hated the fact that I spoke my mind and didn't kowtow to the liberal stupidity which was pervasive in the public school even then in the 1990's) I had two file cabinet drawers filled with data taken from school shootings between 1999 and 2010, as well as information on school attacks going back to the 1920's. One of the commonalities between almost all of those incidents was the fact that the killing stopped once the attacker was confronted by someone with a gun!. Usually that was the point at which they took their own lives, but almost always it was the point at which their rampage stopped! I'm sure there will be those who'll chide Ayoob for being so dramatic in this video, but obviously he's doing it for a damned good reason. I only wish there were more school administrators with the mindset described by Ayoob in this video clip. Unfortunately the majority of them are spineless wimps, who are petrified of identifying to the authorities those kids in their school whom they can TELL are little psychopaths with the capacity to commit acts of mass murder! The fact is in almost EVERY instance where someone used a gun to kill many people- whether at a school or in the workplace - those who knew the perpetrator KNEW that they were capable of these acts, and were not surprised when they did! We need to be identifying and treating mentally sick people - NOT taking away the only means of self-defense from decent people.

I would have hated having police in my school at any time K-12. Why have them? That makes a school seem like a prison. I never thought, at any point K-12, that I was in danger and needed armed personnel at my school.
The percentage, per capita, who are dangerous "psychopaths" (or whatver language one uses) is no greater today than in the 1500s -- as far as I've been able to tell, at least.
If you want to get some real perspective on who and what is a danger to you personally, investigate the history of what in the 20th Century began being called "mass murder" -- globally. Then investigate murders, who commits them, what are the circumstances.
A mindset of fear is a mindset of uselessness, and a mindset that keeps everyone from living a decently enjoyable life. One of the worst things anyone can do to a developing (juvenile) mind is to create an environment of fear/intimidation. In fact, that increases the likelihood the fearful and intimidated child will grow up with skewed right/wrong decision-making. And that's one of the factors in making "psychopath" status.

I do believe those clowns are the same kidnappers who abducted an attorney for a minor traffic infraction at night time after she refused to speak to them and answer their questions. Then, like good, little, mindless robots, the first thing they advised her of upon retaliating against her and initiating her “arrest” was that she had the RIGHT TO REMAIN SILENT. You can’t train away this level of stupid.

    • @seanoneil277
      @seanoneil277 Год назад

@@joesheetstheragman7737 I was not commenting on NJSP itself, but instead the concept of having troopers or police officers in the school. I am sure NJSP troopers are well trained. The state has everything from simple rural to complex big-city including the varieties of crimes with that broad spectrum of towns and people.
"News" (better said, fear-generating) media would have us think we should militarize every public setting because so many dangerous people live among us. This is why I said, look into murders and mass murders over human history, around the world. Decide for yourself whether you should be as afraid as the "news" wants you to be.
The recent domestic cultural frictions are a different question. I'm not talking about that.

I saw a movie in IMAX in 2015 with family and was carrying a Glock 26 in an ankle rig (after reading articles by Mas on ankle carry while sitting a lot). The IMAX theater had a metal detector outside of it with two men using metal detecting wands on movie-goers. I had to take my weapon out to my car trunk. All those precautions IMAX took wouldn't have saved a single life at Aurora because the impotent psychopath went in unarmed and later exited the side to equip himself. All the theater did was create a "hunting preserve for murdering psychopaths." Thanks for the wisdom, Mas.
