@@ledzeppelin1212David Hogg wasn’t even a victim. He just went to the same school and used that to propel himself into a career as an activist. And I bet despite his activism now, if he was in a room about to come face to face with a shooter and had the choice to have or not have a gun to defend himself with, he’d rather have it. You’ll find that very prominent anti-gun politicians and activists often have armed security.
I'm Swiss, I often visited the US. I would LOVE to have the right to carry even as a tourist. In Switzerland, we had the right to carry WITHOUT PERMIT until 1999. The law was only changed because of pressure from the EU. We had NO PROBLEMS with 3 guns per household. Crime rates INCREASED substantially once gun carry was prohibited. So these girls mentioned SWEDEN? 😅 They didn't catch up with the news, did they? They have a MASSIVE problem with violent crime and especially shootouts among ... migrant gangs, which even use bombs etc. It's a cultural problem, not a gun problem. And how about all those terror attacks around the UK?
What do you have to do to to get a permit in Switzerland? Is there a restriction on how many you can own? Is there a restriction on owning ammunition? What kind of firearms can you own? Are there magazine capacity limitations there? Sorry for all the questions. I was just under the impression that Switzerland was similar to the US, so your statement made me curious.
I don't understand how these girls recognize the importance of self defense in the home, yet suddenly think it no longer applies the second you step outside of your door. Trying to comprehend this mental disconnect is giving me a headache.
I see it often. A human mind is able to, and impressively, manipulate a perfectly logical line of reason. And while that mind is twisting itself in knots, in order to keep the truth from the person who it is residing in... recall those comfy emotions that seem to have been given up in trade for full belief in a power that will keep that mind safe, as long as it does not come to terms with what that logic really is. And all of that wasted energy, doing mental gymnastics, seems to keep comfortable smiles, relaxed enough, that they are usually not aware of the break in logic.
I'm prior military and never carry outside of my home but I understand why people do. If you have shot someone or have been shot or have seen someone shot you think twice about carrying and if you do carry you better constantly train. I bet 75% of people that carry do not train.

Brit's can be arrested and face prison time for violations labeled as, "hate speech." I recall one person who was arrested and received a short prison sentence for these comments. Sad really!
The problem with the gun banning crowd is that they think you can pass a law to stop criminal behavior. Criminal behavior is a moral issue. You can’t pass a law to stop somebody from being immoral.
This point (no pun intended) is huge, because what many people often forget about our 2nd Amendment (which is simply stating to the government *their* limitation against infringement on a God-given right), is IT DOES NOT EVEN MENTION *FIREARMS*! It simply says “right to bear arms!” Which includes, but is not limited to firearms! Lately, because of the Hawaii butterfly knife case, and California’s Billy club case, people are becoming more aware, that once you let the government infringe (or as Colion often states it, “give them an inch, etc”) on any one area, they will do so in all areas. Completely unconstitutional limits on bladed weapons or clubs is just as bad, as infringement on firearms, because it will turn into that anyways. We who believe that the 2A is there, not to give us a right (for that right already exists with or without the document), but rather to limit the government from infringement on that already existing God-given right. It is already an invalid premise for those who fear or hate guns to think that “in a perfect world, there would not be guns”. First of all, as others here have stated, and most people know, there is no perfect world on this side of death. And second of all, since that first principle is true and people can kill each other through many different means (maybe what they really want to say is that “in a perfect world, people could not or would not kill each other”, which itself is a debatable point), therefore to borrow from the language of The US Constitution, it is actually a *more* perfect world that the technology of firearms exists, because as Colion pointed out in this discussion, in point of fact and statistics, firearms are actually the “great equalizer” and allows people who are weaker to defend themselves against people who are stronger (whether armed or not).
Cap Lady: “These places where people get guns, they don’t make it difficult” Colion: “In what sense?” Cap lady: “I can’t say that i’m very educated on what the process is to get guns.” 😂That sums it up

This issue here is not a difference of opinion--the issue is: anti-gun enthusiasts aren't living in the real world, and they're hell-bent on instilling their anti-gun beliefs on the rest of the population, as well as the world. If you don't like guns, don't own 'em; but you're not about to take mine away because you're incompetent.
The vast majority of the people who are actively pushing gun confiscation are in the top 15% of wealth. They are the safest, most protected people yet they fear me owning a gun. Yes and I am here to tell them no.

IL gun ban simply created an estimated half million "outlaws" out of lawful gun owners that will not comply. Banning guns in this country just makes more "criminals".
Based on the numbers I'd found, it's even less of an issue than Colion presented here. There are about 30,000 gun related deaths per year by firearms. The U.S. population is roughly 332 million as of 2021. Doing the math; 0.00765% of the population dies from gun related actions each year. Statistically speaking, this is insignificant. It's not even a rounding error. What is not insignificant, however, is a breakdown of those 30,000 deaths: • 22,938 (76%) are by suicide which are very unlikely to be affected by gun laws. Other means are readily available. • 987 (3%) are by law enforcement, and are not relevant to Gun Control discussion. • 489 (2%) are accidental. So no, "gun violence" isn't 30,000 annually, but rather 5,577... 0.0014176% of the population. Yes, 5,577 is absolutely horrific, and I would prefer to avoid them entirely-- but let's think for a minute... you have a 0.0065359% chance of being STRUCK BY LIGHTNING (358% higher) based on CDC estimates. But what about other deaths each year? • 70,000+ die from a drug overdose • 49,000 people die per year from the flu • 37,000 people die per year in traffic fatalities Based on Pew Research analysis of 2021 gun deaths "assault weapons" like the often demonized AR-15 make up roughly 3% of homicides. Shotguns, roughly 1% of homicides. Handguns make up a whopping 59% of homicides and the remaining 36% are not specified. 80% of mass shooters at K-12 schools stole the firearms from family members (who would have had to go through the legal process of acquiring said firearm). The UK is well known for very stringent gun control regulations, but in 2022/23, there were 50,489 knife crime offences across England and Wales...
What none of these people understand is the concept of DETERRENCE! The government will never even try to run roughshod over the citizens because even though the feds would win in the long run, the cost will be infinitely higher than an unarmed populace. It’s the reason why occupied home invasions are so rare in my city, criminals are deterred by knowing that over 80% of the homes here have at least one gun in it.

Stop letting people who hate your freedom dictate your freedom, it's that simple. These are the people who cry about guns yet know little to nothing about the object itself let alone the importance of an armed populous. You dont let someone who knows nothing about cars work on your vehicle, so why should i listen to people who openly hate my rights have a say about them?
Agreed and what astounds me the most is given everything that has happened in the last 124 years alone people still can’t see why you need to be well armed.
It is so true. Every time I see a congressional hearing or anything like it, the people arguing against the 2nd, often the top man at ATF, gets up in front of the whole place and the whole world really, and spouting off all kinds of what they call facts that are totally incorrect. They are arguing against guns and care so much about the topic that they can’t be bothered to spend a minute learning about the items they’re condemning. It is so bad that I actually get embarrassed while sitting on my couch. Time after time, head of ATF, a senator, congressman, or any other important, ivy league educated, powerful, and so damn IGNORANT person has graphs and diagrams and all this bs but has absolutely no clue about anything at all they are attempting to ban?!!? It’s insane to me that someone in that position is comfortable getting up and making an argument, pretending it means so much to them but they don’t know word one about the things they are saying. It’s funny for a min then it’s sickening. I would never have stood up in class as a kid and tried to give a report on something i had absolutely no clue about! I would be turning red and ears burning if I thought I sounded half as stupid as these sheep arguing for gun control because their mommy told them to. So sad what this country has become.

Unlike most people, I have had 2 intruders break into my home and one was armed. He even fired that weapon in my living room. I was able to use my legally obtained firearm to defend several people in it. I had been watching videos for several months about defensive uses of firearms. I learned several things by watching those. These lessons came in handy that night. I remained calm, guided the other individuals to safety before confronting the intruders. I fired one shot from about 12 feet away hitting one. The other ran off when his buddy was hit. He lived just so you know. The interaction took all of maybe a minute from the time they entered my home to the moment he was neutralized. I have been asked many times, why only one shot. I was in a position when I fired to see him drop his weapon and fall. I used restraint and constantly assessed the situation in real time. There was no need for a second shot. Some would argue otherwise. Hell the investigator said that if a cop had shot he would have several holes in him. My point is bad guys don't usually want to get shot just as much as anyone else would. Get a weapon, get trained and carry everyday. My wife even got trained up and since that day and she carries everywhere now. I do have a military background so I am sure that helped some as well.
Good to hear. In Australia, this is not possible. We cant own anything specifically for self defence reasons, it has to be for another use, like sport. More people in the city centers with clear mental health issues as well. Cant even carry a knife, would go to straight to jail.

Many women outsource their protection to the point where they don't even have an action plan if they find themselves in a situation where they can't depend on a man.
@@Idontevenwanachannel Hell, most women dont even REALIZE that they outsource their own protection..thats how oblivious they are to how vulnerable they actually are. My own mother is the same way, shes worked hard in life to end up living in a nice home, in a nice and safe area(and without anything particularly bad happening to her in her life, thankfully) and shes a very sweet person and caring Registered Nurse who (to a fault) chooses to see the good in people. The “aura of fear surrounding guns” that Chrystal mentioned is purely by design. Middle schools and high schools all across the United States used to teach firearm safety and basic marksmanship. Schools used to have rifle and pistol teams. And nobody got shot. Lack of firearm education has lead to ignorance, which bred fear. We need to get back to our roots. We know that they’ll never bring firearms training back to public schools, but we can still teach our friends and family. Both of my daughters have been shooting since they were about 4. I started at about the same age, as did my mom & dad, and their parents before them. Our gun culture literally shielded us from a mainland invasion by the Japanese during WWII. Thankfully, one of his flag officers went to college in the U.S. and warned the emperor that there was “a rifle behind every blade of grass.”

It's not so much a "rule" as testing done in 1983 by then-sgt. Here's a quick analogy that can help get the point across to people who have an gut-reaction dislike of firearms: "Why do you need a fire extinguisher? That's super weird. What, are you worried about your house burning down? Just call the fire department!!!" A. Because if my kitchen catches on fire, I don't wanna wait 10-15 minutes for a firetruck as my home burns down. "Why do you need a gun? That's super weird, you think you're John Wick or something? Why are you worried about getting attacked? Just call the cops!!!" A. Because if someone kicks down my door in the middle of the night, or attacks me while I'm out and about, I don't wanna wait 10-15 minutes for the cops to arrive while the assailant has free reign over the health and safety of me and my family.
Your analogy is ridiculous. It is the society that we have created and allowed guns to permeate like no other country that makes this an issue. Houses are not taught anything, it is just a house. YOU are lied to that a gun makes you safe, when in reality, all the guns spread all over have made it so that we are never safe, so that you NEED the gun (in your mind) creating the cycle that benefits someone, but that is over your head.

"Why do I need a gun?" Because evil exists and the police are inadequate. You are your own first line of defense; you are the first responder. No one that's anti-gun stays anti-gun after they've had a home invasion, or been mugged in public, and the police take 30 minutes to respond. The police are too busy responding to Karen's demanding a supervisor at a traffic stop.
The police are not only inadequate, but often evil themselves. Look at how obedient the cops in the UK are when told to arrest people simply for noticing what's happening in the UK.

Sweden actually has a pretty high gun ownership for Europe. Gun violence would be much lower in the United States if parents were more involved in their children’s lives. Parenting in the U.S. is often lacking in people’s lives who turn to gun violence to solve their problems. Also if guns are banned for law abiding citizens the criminals will always always always have access to guns.
Provided that parents are also mentally stable and responsible..... If you're in a strictly rural area around a lot of wildlife or on a farm having firearms is a necessity.
The family issue primarily resides in the urban centers. Less two parent households, more latchkey kids. Plus all the obvious gang activity within cities that many of those kids fall into. Add in the draw for homeless people, and the sanctuary cities giving welfare to non-citizens, and it's just a cesspit practically created to breed crime, degeneracy, and dependents.

They didn't catch up with the news, did they? They have a MASSIVE problem with violent crime and especially shootouts among ... migrant gangs, which even use bombs etc. It's a cultural problem, not a gun problem.
And how about all those terror attacks around the UK?
What do you have to do to to get a permit in Switzerland? Is there a restriction on how many you can own? Is there a restriction on owning ammunition? What kind of firearms can you own? Are there magazine capacity limitations there? Sorry for all the questions. I was just under the impression that Switzerland was similar to the US, so your statement made me curious.

The UK has so many ongoing issues with violence that their concern over public use of firearms has become effectivly moot.

Americans will be outlaws!
What is not insignificant, however, is a breakdown of those 30,000 deaths:
• 22,938 (76%) are by suicide which are very unlikely to be affected by gun laws.
• 70,000+ die from a drug overdose
• 49,000 people die per year from the flu
• 37,000 people die per year in traffic fatalities
Based on Pew Research analysis of 2021 gun deaths "assault weapons" like the often demonized AR-15 make up roughly 3% of homicides.

1- When you worship defenselessness , you have a serious problem .Also , when you feel the need to have other people be defenseless for you to feel comfortable or safe , the problem is on you .
2- If you do not believe that every Human Being as a Right to Self-Defense , then you do not believe in Human Rights .
Couldn't agree more and If I might add. If they don't believe in the rights of others why can't others take their rights from them? Stupidly enough They'd argue that they need or deserve those rights that they will gladly take from you.
"Rights" exist only in the human imagination.
To your first point, they worship defenselessness because they're looking to fulfill their maternal instincts - and you can't nurture/ take care of someone that *doesn't need* you. (Or, at least, that's what's going on at the level of the "useful idiot" - the "powers that be" are manipulating them through their psychology like that).

Except for in one state you can own pepper spray. Our cities are smaller than most US cities, but the amount of people on the street on meth and other substances is increasing.

"Why do you need a fire extinguisher? That's super weird. What, are you worried about your house burning down? Just call the fire department!!!"
A. Because if my kitchen catches on fire, I don't wanna wait 10-15 minutes for a firetruck as my home burns down.
"Why do you need a gun? That's super weird, you think you're John Wick or something? Why are you worried about getting attacked? Just call the cops!!!"

"Why do I need a gun?"
Because evil exists and the police are inadequate. You are your own first line of defense; you are the first responder. No one that's anti-gun stays anti-gun after they've had a home invasion, or been mugged in public, and the police take 30 minutes to respond. The police are too busy responding to Karen's demanding a supervisor at a traffic stop.
Or their kid won't do their homework, or their Taco Bell order is wrong.....
The police are not only inadequate, but often evil themselves. Look at how obedient the cops in the UK are when told to arrest people simply for noticing what's happening in the UK.
Bottom line is that your safety is your responsibility.

Also in New Zealand was the biggest mass shooting of Muslims I’ve ever seen on camera …. None of them had any way to defend themselves it was very sad… if one person in that group had a gun it could have changed the outcome of the whole situation .
Did you meet her and get married within that 6 year period?
Every single person that I have taken to the range for their first experience with firearms has gone on and gotten their F.O.I.D. ( I’m in Illinois, unfortunately) and have purchased firearms!
Can she talk to my wife?
@@markoredano9141 A mutual friend of ours put us in a FB group about 7 years ago.... we hit it off and after a year we decided to meet up. She flew in on a 90 day travel visa and about halfway thru, we decided to get married. Life is crazy sometimes. Lol
A quick Google search reveals that the UK experienced about 770 violent crimes per 10,000 people, while the USA only had about 370 per 10,000 in the same years (2023), it's not the guns.
@userJohnSmithyeah this comment should be pinned up top.
in fact, these numbers help advocate on behalf of “an armed society, is a polite society”
Their violent crime rates have only increased since banning firearms. (Yes, I know it's not a total ban, but it is close enough
@@jake.porterIt probably has more to do with the population density, but then way out in the middle of nowhere, I still carry because I've randomly been attacked by large feral dogs, and that fuckin sucks.
Exactly
you do not have the right to restrict me so you can FEEL any certain way. Period.
Kudos to the two ladies for having a candid conversation in a subject area that they were not as familiar with. I hope that you make a post range trip video discussing their experience shooting.
We should ban cars. Cars are more dangerous.
So are doctors.
Agree.@@The_Disgruntled_Vet
Don't give them any ideas. The left is perfect happy to tell us we can use mass transit
might as well band alcohol too.
oh wait, we tried that...

If you need help or back up, I’m in Lewisville. I know you know where that is.
No guns in England but some of the locals are stabby as hell.
There are many guns in England.

Thanks to everyone in the video for letting each other talk, not raising voices or interrupting, and not attacking each other with jabs or insults. This was an incredibly respectful conversation between wildly different people and easily could have gone off the rails.
One of the best podcasts ever, the two young ladies still kept to there belifs but did it in such a respectful way you rarely see from that generation. You did a great job on your points you made yhem comfortable with the topic which sadly most young people cant seem to understand what a conversation is is conversation 1:03:50
These ladies need to understand that you can not uninvent firearms. That is an undisputed fact. The gun controllers never explain how taking guns away from law-abiding citizens will have any effect on criminals having guns. They always ignore the fact that guns are used over 500,000 times each year for self-defense.
@@1800moonSugar Incorrect. The data was complied and published by the CDC during the Obama years. Subsequent studies have validated the minium number. It is the best data available.
@LubberKing you lack of understanding of data analysis is showing. You disagree with it because it doesn't fit your preconceived conclusions. Iy is your choice to believe what you want but don't expect others to participate in your willful disregard of the available data.
@LubberKing As I stated, your lack of knowledge of data analysis appears to be your issue. The data was collected and analyzed via valid techniques and accepted practices. It is also why the data is usually quoted as only being a minimum of 500,000 defensive gun uses each year. The data has also been examined by John Lott. Do with it what you will.

Evil shouldn't exist isn't an argument against guns for defense. That's you wishing reality wasn't reality
I love seeing civil conversations when people have opposing views. Thank you for modeling this in our society.
