“I don’t want me protecting my life to be a competition. I want it to be as lopsided as possible, because I am not the one threatening someone’s life.” One of my favorite quotes on this matter.
@@dd9354 no it actually doesnt. It so happens criminals of a minority of the population commit multiple crimes that lead to violent interactions with police at some point and the police dont have a wide range of good training with deescalation and fitness. Nobody talks about the simple shit like how they are fat as fuck and ive watched a video of 4 officers taking 15 minutes to get a dude in handcuffs, the need to have mandatory jujitsu training that is good at control bodies so they want restort to punching kicking and shooting. Most of the population that owns guns LEGALLY are good people trying to have an advantage over criminals. I was lucky to have a mother who bought a 1911 and taught me how to use it and when i was about to head to the bus for school at someone tryna break in my house threw a pot at my window. They ran ocause the alarm went off and nothing happened it was wtv, but if he did decide to come in i was in my mama room with the gun pointed at the door till i heard my neighbor come over and yell my name carrying his shotgun. Texas is amazing.
Whatever side of the debate you are on…this is a great example of two people with differing opinions having a civil and reasonable discussion. We need more of this type of interactions.
The fact that Colion asks for clarification when being asked a vague question like about loopholes, shows his talent as not only an attorney but a spokesman aswell. I’ve seen countless debates where both sides don’t understand what is being asked and just start answering the question rather than ask for a clarification and getting a better understanding of the question to continue a peaceful debate. Well done Colion
He didn’t ask for clarification because he didn’t know what bill meant. He asked for clarification, because bill doesn’t understand what he’s asking. He’s saying it as if there’s some loophole for commercial gun sales when in reality it’s person to person sales. The government will never be able to regulate the 400 million privately held guns in this country no more than they can collect the sales tax when you sell an old appliance to a friend for 50 bucks. He’s asking for clarification to win the argument, which is why bill backpedals and changes topic.
@@ringingsteel8729Looking at it from your standpoint it makes sense. I haven’t looked at that way. Just showing his ability to direct a debate/argument and his great debating skills
I could listen to Colion all day long. Not only is he smart, but he can get his point across without making the listener feel dumb. That’s a rare but valuable talent. Even Bill Maher learned something.
the best part about this - this interview is 4 years old. Bill has come out later to say he has new respect for gun owners after this interview sank in completely for him!!! Bill has become one of the leading Democrats that ive grown some respect for!!! He has shown several times that he actually thinks and processes, albeit at a later date, what his interviews talk about!!! Even tho i dont agree with everything he stands for, i have respect for Bill!
I initially dismissed Bill as just another intolerant, close-minded lefty, but I discovered his actual personality when he was a guest on Joe Rogan. The guy is actually pretty open to hearing out people he disagrees with. I don’t really care what people believe or support. You can be a hardcore lefty, radical right, or somewhere in between and I will harbor no hatred towards you for that alone. What I can’t respect is people who cover their ears when they hear something they disagree with and start yelling over them “I’M RIGHT YOU’RE WRONG I’M RIGHT YOU’RE WRONG…” Close-mindedness and intolerance are a cancer and stain on humanity, no matter what side of the spectrum you’re on. Bill’s not like that. I respect him and like his personality because of that.
We've both been through middle school, so we both know how...testing some kids can be. It only takes one teacher who's having a REALLY bad day to have a kid make them snap, and that will lead to a massive backlash. We see this with cops that sometimes get trigger happy and gun people down because someone got nervous and made a sudden move. I am pro gun, but just looking at it from a logistical standpoint, it probably wouldn't work. Most school districts are massively underfunded and they sometimes don't even have enough money to buy up to date textbooks every year. So all of the training and buying a gun would have to come out of the teachers own pocket, and they are all ready underpaid. That being said, I have no idea whatsoever on how to deal with school shootings. Maybe raise the age to buy any gun to 21, but that would only solve a niche case because they can always use someone else's gun, but it's at least an idea.
@@User71956 Sorry, not really interested in reading your book to nowhere. Honestly speaking, if the middle school teacher in question is willing to go through specialized training, then I feel it safe to assume a specific degree of patience. Your concern was also mine prior to this video. Respectively, there is considerably zero difference in the decision making ability between 18 and 21. Both are idiots that believe they know everything, meanwhile knowing virtually nothing. Well trained and licensed teachers defending our kids may just be the best option.
I really don’t understand why people don’t understand that the NRA/GOA etc.. are the People. They aren’t some mythical entity, they are the American People. Oh wait a minute, they are leftists and facts don’t matter.😎
Seriously think about it. If the teachers gonna step up and take a bullet why the hell wouldn't they just put themselves in a position to take out the shooter rather then sacrifice their life and possibly not even accomplish anything other than killing themselves, that to me is stupid. Give me a fucking gun, fuck the shooter I like breathing, lol. 🤙😎
C.U. - "I think we just want pro gun people to keep them out the hands of crazy people." You do that by arming everyone. People think twice about shooting at people when they KNOW that those same people can shoot back.
Chris Federoff he let one argument go. There have already been several attempts of the government to take Americans guns! Hell it happened during Hurricane Katrina under the Bush administration
Tre' Roney yup. They won’t ever stop trying because they don’t want a population that can defend themselves. That is exactly why the authors of the constitution created the second amendment. It’s is the law yet here we are defending our right!
I like how the “arm teachers” idea is always perceived as a mandatory carry for all teachers. I don’t think anyone is proposing that idea. I think the idea is that if a teacher is trained and willing that they should be allowed to concealed carry in their classroom.
I am a retired police officer, who was a school resource officer for 7 years. While working in the schools, I crossed paths with hundreds of teachers and most of them did not have the proper mindset or desire to carry a firearm. A few of them had what it takes to be armed and trained to defend themselves and their students. With all the proper safeguards in place, there is no reason they shouldn't be allowed to do so.
@troylindsey1444 I'm in complete agreement. I'm a *_military veteran_* , and yet even though I'm allowed to carry a gun into a crowded movie theater (packed with women and children no less), I'm not allowed to conceal-carry into any school in my state. It's absurd!
If I'm trusting my child with you, you should be able to defend yourself, let alone 15+ kids. Bill's "but they're teachers", the criminal doesn't give a shit.

The left has become uses fear and gross tactics to get people to follow, conservatives just offer individualism and morals.
See THIS STATEMENT displays part of the PROBLEM. Lets me explain. Here in America because of VARIOUS racist, capitalist agendas, YOU/WE, DONT KNOW AMERICAN HISTORY. We get the whitewashed, revisionist version. Coming to what you see spealing before you is a "black man" talkijg about the 2nd Amendment and how his "ancestors" blah blah blah. Look, it needs to be understood that ALOT of the people you see (speaking for the "black" community) are NOT CONNECTED to the history, legacy, or lineage of the circumstances in which you referrenced with the whole "ancestors" thing. What do I mean? Colin Noir, Candace Owens, Joy Reid, Barack Obama, Shelia Jackson Lee (and MANY MEMBERS OF THE CONGRESSIONAL BLACK CAUCUS) the one guy from the reparations debate, Issa Raye (insecure) Cardi B, Nikki Minaj, Rhianna, Kamalah Harris etc etc these people are "black" but they are NOT the traditionally termed "African American) which should actually be known as American Descendants of Slavery (ADOS). It so it needs to be understood that when lots of these people speak, greater America (read white america) usually thinks these are African american people speaking in the sense of a group identity. Like "his ancestors", when in actuality, with him being 1st Gen American and hist family being from Nigeria, there is a STRONG possibility that his "ancestors" SOLD MY ANCESTORS into slavery. My ancestors, The non-immigrant descendant Enslaved Africans whose blood sweat, tears, labor, and wombs through which America was built, were the "ancestors" who were denied the rights. So it may sound crass, and pretty unpopular (especislly with liberal status quo) but just because we are black we are NOT the same. Which is one of the very reasons why all throught politics EVERYONE has an advocacy group that advocates SPECIFICALLY for them, EXCEPT BLACK AMERICANS, More specifically American Descendats of Slavery. Dont believe me? Research it for yourselves and you will see that I'm right. EVERYBODY thats black in the US falls into the "black" or African American, minorty, people of color, black and brown, etc" category but the actual black population that is tied to the history, legacy, lineage and building of the US is steadily being "recasted" by other "blacks". Who in MANY CASES shouldnt even be speaking "for" or as a "representative of" the "black community.

No need for mental checkups because that should be the first step in being a teacher.my school has “security guards” and these people don’t have guns and can be be over ran by a shooter. If teachers had guns, school shooting rates will drop
Most non-gun people are terrified of guns. They think teachers would need months of training just to keep from shooting themselves or some poor kid. They need to go to a range or with a friend and do some shooting under the eye of an experienced shoot with a small powered weapon like an AR. They need to go to a gun show and try and buy a gun. I guarantee the NRA would provide the guns and the training for teachers, free of charge.
Here is why it will never happen. All the multitudes of weak, touchy feely teachers, board members and education leaders are scared to death that if Teachers were allowed to be armed in todays youth society and the lack of respect the youth has for its teachers would see a time when a youth got up in a teachers face and drove that teacher to such anger that he/she pulled out the gun and shot the kid. This of course is the most extreme of scenario but I can promise you this has crossed every one of those in charges minds. They figure its not worth the risk of even one incident vs the benefits of being able to stop an active shooter. Because of this I fear arming teachers in schools will never happen.
Jimbo B. If some teacher with a gun decides to shoot a kid, you best believe that teacher would’ve killed that kid or those kids with or without a gun. Just because someone has a gun doesn’t automatically make them a psychopath who wants to go on a killing spree. This is the filth that people like you spread. Keep watching Colion. Ross Duvall wrong, you become responsible for their education, their overall safety has to be provided by the school district itself, unless of course there’s a fist fight going on in the classroom. Teachers are there to teach, not to play cop or security guard.

There are 125 million gun owners in this country. The Posse Comitatus act of 1878 forbids the Federal government from using the US Military against the citizens of this country for any reason. But given the current lack respect for the Constitution and Bill of Rights that exists at the federal government level, who knows? But I'd put my money on the 125 million.

Got to give both men credit for stating each side with a clear and calm demeanor that's the way debate should be handled with an intellectual knowledge of stating your facts and not trying to win a case by being the loudest but smartest
Noir didn't at all address the background check question. He didn't give any reason to justify the NRA's change of position. Also, when talking about arming teachers, he completely overlooks the fact that almost 100% of armed teachers would never use their guns. That means hours and hours and hours spent in schools all over the country-every single day of the school year-with a loaded weapon around children. If even a small percentage of school staff were armed, there could easily be more shootings per year by those guns-through accidents or by having guns stolen by students-than by "normal" mass shootings. In other words, you'd been adding considerable risk to the lives of an enormous number of children on the one-in-a-million chance that you might save those children's lives from a different gun.
RSJ956 well said... though a sad comment on our times that any reasonably civil dialogue is praise-worthy. Bill chased the "show or sale" question away from the back round checks question. The "Intellectual Dark Web" may be the future of dialogue that will help save humanity from itself.

YOU are your "first-responder". No one is coming to save you. By Supreme Court ruling, the police aren't even required to do so. Do the math, Bill. As for arming teachers, they are like the rest of the population, but with a greater responsibility. Arm those willing and able to be trained, perhaps at public expense.
I am a teacher who wouldn’t trust other teachers with guns around my children. However, as a gun owner who has experienced a lock down, I sure wish I had my gun with me.
Optional teacher carry: regulated by the school board (I’m not familiar with how a school board is elected or held accountable, so maybe this is already a bad idea) with training requirements and continued learning, as well as bi-annual psych evaluations; all of that incentivized by a salary premium.
If no one ever knew which teachers had them then the idea that all of them could be armed could serve as deterrent. In theory anyway. For those that do plan it out. If someone is mentally unstable, as has been yet another debated question , they likely wouldn’t think it through in that manner. Also you’d have to be sure that if the worst case scenario occurred that teacher wouldn’t hesitate to use it & drop a student/ kid. Also what would be rules of Engagement? Would they have to wait to be fired at , and then could only return fire in self defense of them and the students. What if someone pulls a gun out & threatens everyone but hasn’t fired it ? It’s 1 of of 100 or 1000 questions the whole idea creates. But the worst thing is the fact we are even having this idea & discussion! Which can lead to more thoughts about arming cashiers/workers at Walmart, grocery stores, McDonald’s, etc… everywhere because these tragedies are occurring everywhere. And if it’s not many that were killed, it just makes local news as another murder(s), particularly in major cities where unfortunately most people have become so used to seeing it on news it’s as normal as watching the traffic & weather reports before going to work.
Yet you trust the teacher to teach your child.... C'mon dude, if you trust them to teach your child and keep them safe without a pewpew, you should feel safer knowing now they have the opportunity to save your child if they did have one.
I’m actually a woman and there’s nothing wrong with collecting guns either. Guns does not equal violence. My family has a collective of dozens of guns, they go to the range on the weekend. @@beefchief626 Exactly; if a man is trying to r4pe a woman, there is a chance one person (her) may get hurt, but if the woman tries to stop him by carrying and using a gun, the r4pist could get hurt, too - so there is a chance two people could get hurt - thus exacerbating the problem. Mate, if the government has become so corrupt and evil that you have to rebel, your guns won't do shit. They'll look like paper toys in comparison with what the government has. Instead of thinking about how to work in the system and make it better by being educated and informed, you're thinking of rebellion, gotta love Americans, always taking stupid to the next level.
Or others. When you signed up to be a teacher, you implicitly stated that you didn't want to fight or stand up against evil. And if a shooter ends up on your campus, remember that you're a teacher. You signed up for this so you didn't have to fight. And if that shooter enters your room, remember you're a teacher. You don't want a gun to fight back. That's not what you do, right? I'm a teacher and this line of argument infuriates me. The idea that parents will trust me to shape, mold, and prepare their youth for the real world, but automatically assume I am not fit to defend the lives of their children is mind-boggling. The assumption that, since I'm a teacher I do not want that responsibility is utterly absurd and even insulting. I would die for my students, but in a nightmare situation like an active shooter, I'd much rather have the option to kill another person to keep my students safe. Hands down, no contest.
Yep, Maher made no sense on that,... if you're going to likely die, why not at least have options. No one is saying all teachers should be armed, the beauty is that no one would know who is armed. Notice police stations are not attacked, a criminal would assume someone there would be armed. The facts are, gun control increases crime wherever it has been tried.
I think what Bill misunderstood is that nobody wants to force teachers to carry firearms only give them the option to do so. I agree we need trained security/police personnel to do that job regularly.
That last question of Bill's about the slave revolts, I think Colion's response was one of the most elegant responses to an interview question I have ever seen. Like silk. Goddamn.

Yeah they act like this is North Korea or China where the military would turn on it's own citizens. Most of the military and law enforcement are pro 2nd amendment. Most people join the military to protect our freedoms, not to help take them away. 'Murica!
That's another good point that gets lost in these arguments. Soldiers would have divided loyalties in the event of a rebellion against the government. It's not certain all, or even most, will choose the government.
Good thing there's no difference between fighting a failing empire an ocean away and fighting the massive military complex you've paid for that lives right on top of you. Yeah, that's a real good thing.

There were many back then making the same argument you’re making now. :)
I guess Nick doesn't realize that at a minimum there are 100 million gun owners in the US, a large percentage of them are either law enforcement or ex-military. In contrast, if you count the various reserve forces available, the US military is at best 2 million strong... most of those stationed overseas. Our military does not believe it could suppress the population successfully, even if it wanted to (which it does not).

You understand the statistical likelihood of a teacher using the gun on the students is 10x more likely than someone coming into the classroom with a gun correct?
BicBoi Spyder you want me to compare the statistics of school shooting vs homicides in the United States..... I’ll repeat that; you want me to compare the difference between gun related homicides (individual shooting other individuals ~ about 13,000 per year) vs school shootings (about a few per year at most)... and then you want me to actually explain the difference between those two...if there is a 1 in 300 Million chance of there being a school shooting per year and you decide to give every teacher a gun (that’s literally thousands of guns put into the equation) you are literally opening thousands of potential cases of school shooting from inside the fucking school. How the fuck do I have to explain how off of the spectrum insane that sounds?
@@peppybismilk419 Wow. I already have low expectation for the people I talk to on the internet, but this is a new level. You forgot your own argument. lol Let me spell this out for you since you can't even keep your own argument consistent. You said, specifically, "the statistical likelihood of a teacher using the gun on the students is 10x more likely than someone coming into the classroom with a gun..." I don't know the statistics of *TEACHERS* killing students, which is why I asked you to provide a source for your assertion that it's higher than the likelihood of a school shooter. Maybe your attempt at misframing the question would have worked against someone else, but not against me. You SPECIFICALLY said **TEACHERS** and that's what I'm asking about. Not random people, not police officers, not school shooters that aren't teachers. You SPECIFICALLY said **TEACHERS**.
Colion was amazing, very level headed and really he should be a spokesperson for the firearm industry. And great job Bill Maher, loved the questions and your level headedness.
I think Bill was being unreasonable and Colion missed an opportunity. He should have countered that if a teacher wants to bring a firearm to school and use it on children, there is nothing that will stop that. Having armed teachers, adds 0 to the risk factor. It should not be required of teachers but if a teacher WANTS to carry, and wants to be armed, there should be no problem. And yes, some will not want to, but that will wither as the shootings continue. And once enough people have had enough and the majority of teachers are armed, the shooters will pick some place else. Mass shootings always occur at soft targets. If you harden the school system with guards, metal detectors and armed teachers, they will fuck off to somewhere else (concerts, movie theaters, restuarants, etc) Arming teachers is a viable solution to protecting the youth.

@Noelle Nix Has your mother ever been in an environment where guns were handled in a responsible manner? Has she ever been educated on the basics of gun safety and operation? Has she ever overcome the fear and ignorance of her childhood? I grew up in an area where girls and women were "used" a lot in very unappealing ways. Does that mean I don't like women? No, it means that I had to learn, through some effort on my own, how to appreciate them and that one of them can be in a special place in my life that is completely unrelated to what I saw growing up. I don't think everyone should have a gun, especially people who are uncomfortable with them, but saying you don't like something out of ignorance (such as just the bad experiences growing up) is irresponsible. Get educated or stay out of the conversation.
I don't agree with Bill on a lot of things, but I love how self-aware he is, and this discussion showed that. He clearly states to Colion that he doesn't like guns but also recognizes that he doesn't know a lot about them, and as a result gives someone who DOES know a lot about them the opportunity to explain that side of the argument. No matter who you agree with on either side of this argument, both of these gentlemen showed what proper discourse in this country looks like and they should be applauded for that! I feel smarter for having watched it.
Colin should have invited Bill TO become more familiar with firearms and challenged how Bill should be able to engage him(an expert) about firearms or history in the U.S.!
Please explain WHAT THERE IS TO KNOW ABOUT GUNS. Guns are VERY SIMPLE MACHINES, I never understand what there is to KNOW that 10 minutes of study would not reveal. Yes I understand that there are different sizes, different bores and different bullet speeds. Have you ever used a SCREWDRIVER? there are different sizes and different shapes and different ways to use them hand screwdrivers or powered screwdrivers. There are short screws and long screws, thick screws and thin screws. What is SO COMPLEX ABOUT A GUN. Guns have just ONE FUNCTION, TO KILL OR MAIM.
At the end I was hoping Colion would mention how gun control was historically used to disarm the black populace in southern states after the Civil War. That would've been an interesting reaction from Bill
The newest and largest buyers of guns now is black females for home and family protection. Seems that living in a liberal city has taken away police protection from those who most need protection. I am a woman who has taught women how to safely use guns and am proud I know more about guns than any politician.
Mad respect for Noir!! A real brother!! No race hustling, no race baiting, even Bill tried the classic law enforcement related race baiting, Noir just shut him up!! Good lord that is a real man!!
And what is more scary is that Bill Maher has said many times that he owns a gun for home protection. So he owns a gun and probably never learns anything about it, how to handle it properly, etc. That is a dangerous devise to learn how to use in the moment.
I would say overwhelmingly yes. However I am not for MOST PPL having guns. I dont think they are capable of handling them. I am a multiple owner Btw. I know plenty about firearms but ya. PPL are so dumb I would restrict who can have them just because of how dumb so many ppl are. I never hear that argument because it's so blunt.
The same could be said about cars, houses, kids.... where do you draw the line on personal liberties? In my opinion, you cant... you just have Liberty.
He got his ass a few times and conversation got shifted.is point on teachers being armed is good and when he said why not have the same power to get the same arsenal to fight back the government
That's because it's just the two of them. Bill doesn't have his usual army of leftist hecklers to jab and make empty sanctimonious claims that they have the moral high ground.
Oh I don't know. I only heard openness and compromise on one side of that conversation. Mr. "Noir" wants to arm teachers. Won't admit there are loopholes in the background check requirements. Starts off lying about the 2nd amendment. Opposes a registry. And by the way, ARs and other rifles fire larger bullets in a faster and deadlier way. Nothing to do with feelings.
Robert Piatt an AR platform shoots a 5.56 NATO caliber, which is essentially a .22 with a bit more powder behind it. It's semi automatic(one bullet per trigger pull for the layman), which means it only shoots as fast as your finger can manage. And it's not that he wants to arm teachers. He wants teachers to have the option to arm themselves, which would turn them from shields into swords. And a group of sanctimonious white people trying to race-bait a black man is a pretty weak foot to stand on.
While Hodgkinson's attack on Scalise and the GOP softball team was with a modified SKS that did meet the assault rifle criteria and fired 7.62 calibre bullets. "Noir" never said option for teachers self-arming in this interview. What's your source? Stuff your race-baiting accusation. I'm arguing his arguments. You're adding the identity politics, man.

Bill’s not like that. I respect him and like his personality because of that.
"They're willing to die for this students. Why not put them in a position to fight for them?" I was on the fence. Consider my mind made up sir.

I like how the “arm teachers” idea is always perceived as a mandatory carry for all teachers. I don’t think anyone is proposing that idea. I think the idea is that if a teacher is trained and willing that they should be allowed to concealed carry in their classroom.
Absolutely maybe have a controlled safe operated by the main office in time of need to make people feel better about that
I am a retired police officer, who was a school resource officer for 7 years.

Yea but you gotta remember...liberals are borderline tards

Jesus christ this is frustrating! The whole point about teachers is not that we would *force* them to be armed. Rather, the point is that we should *allow* teachers to be armed if they want to be. After being trained.
And they should be allowed to be armed if they wish it. Whether they are at school, or church or the supermarket. What is the difference? A right to protect oneself shall not be infringed. Brandon Comer the one thing I will say that I think bill said. The people that would be taking the gun are cops, who love guns. 90% of the military would revolt and refuse to “participate” in an unlawful order as such. Now that is an immediate interpretation. In 50 years, the military will be a new generation who doesn’t know better. Most service member are truly fighting for your right. So it’s interesting to see “the government” taking guns. I am a teacher and a former Marine, I am definitely capable of being armed if my school division were to allow such things.
1stVARifleman it would be nice for teachers to have guns obviously with training.
Thank you for your service. As a teacher, I would feel more safe if I knew a "good guy with a gun" were on campus.

Bring it with you~ no one has to know but you.
The teachers would be selected based on their level of competence.

So, according to Maher, because you are a teacher, you don't have the right to defend yourself.
"Idiotic clapping"
Margo Channing - correct. If you are a teacher, you only have the right to block bullets with your body.

Exactly if there would be tyranical government in the US I can imagine one or two branches of military going against that government.
It's not certain all, or even most, will choose the government.
so if the military will not fight against its population why does the population need guns?
You are playing chicken vs egg.

In contrast, if you count the various reserve forces available, the US military is at best 2 million strong... most of those stationed overseas. @@benwilms3942 There is the acknowledgement that you all want to ban firearms you can't even describe, you lecture us on existing gun laws when you all can't even quote one, pretend like you know the exact number of rounds in a magazine "necessary" for protection, and that you create a fake "moral outrage" high ground to avoid engaging in a debate where the facts and data don't remotely favor your side. The entire exchange in this video proved that beyond any doubt.
@@nascarnut18 no, we're not all guilty of that. I'm certainly not, just pointing out that if its people that kill people, not guns than its people legislators need to know more about, not guns. I don't need to be a firearms expert or a lawyer to know that I can be shot to death by someone with a gun.
You have to respect that these two had a conversation about this topic instead of just yelling at each other
I have gotten guns at gun shows and had a mandatory background check every time.
As have I. I'm not sure what loophole people refer to with regards to gunshows. Also, why does Bill have an issue with the term gunshow. I went to card shows as a kid and purchased basketball cards. Silly semantic argument he used right before transitioning to his next question. Tried to catch Colion off guard but failed.
@@shangtsung1362 Bill is using pilpul, a linguistic tactic to confuse the one being interviewed or debated.
@@eponaalbion It's like pawing with a lazy left hand jab in order to make your opponent commit and then countering with the right hand.
He’s talking about peer to peer sales on long guns. I can sell a rifle or shotgun to you at a gun show with no background check....but I can also do that anywhere.
@@christianjohnson6022 That's not a loophole, that's freedom. Shall not be infringed.
Bill Maher sounded like he was actually listening at first, then he went to his script and sounded like the fool that he is.
I was thinking the exact same thing. I enjoyed watching the conversation between the two which started out very amicably, and then he forgot he has an audience to pander to and quickly flipped the script. Sad.
Everyone applauding Bill when he says, "Because they're teachers, they don't wanna have that job" at 7:43, to which Colion (and most of us in the peanut gallery) very easy retorts, "the moment someone walks into that classroom with a gun, they don't have that option."
Crickets followed by immediate subject change by Bill.
Maher immediately changed the topic right after that too.
Way too obvious.
You understand the statistical likelihood of a teacher using the gun on the students is 10x more likely than someone coming into the classroom with a gun correct?
@@peppybismilk419 Care to share your source for these statistics?
You forgot your own argument. lol
Let me spell this out for you since you can't even keep your own argument consistent.
“Teachers don’t want to fight”
I don’t think anyone wants to fight💀😂 but you have to.
If you harden the school system with guards, metal detectors and armed teachers, they will fuck off to somewhere else (concerts, movie theaters, restuarants, etc)
Arming teachers is a viable solution to protecting the youth.
What about the teachers who step in front of students during school shootings
@Bridget Walker right? Lol more like albino Obama

...and if disturbed students, who ordinarily would not have access to a firearm, take it off the teacher or from the desk?
@@naywahn you dont leave a gun on or in the desk. You have it in a secured holster. Something like an omnivore which we made to prevent other people from taking the gun of of your waist
Truest thing I have ever heard Bill Maher say, "People who don't like guns don't know much about guns."
JimboParadox the meaning of it is why should people who don’t know anything about something control it.
I feel smarter for having watched it.
dont forget, he actually listened to Noir, or at least let him talk and finish his points, which is more than you can get from most anti-gunners
Colin should have invited Bill TO become more familiar with firearms and challenged how Bill should be able to engage him(an expert) about firearms or history in the U.S.!
Bill also admitted to being a Liberal, and his own words a Drug Nut, saying his drug of choice was pot or any other drug he could get his hands on.
@@oldedwardian1778 So the people that shoot targets with them are using them wrong?
A prime instance of civil discussion on a controversial topic. We need this to happen way more often.
I disagree with Maher on almost everything, but I respect him in the sense that he's willing to have the conversations.
Agreed that puts him one notch above the shitheads on CNN in my book.
Totally agree.
I cant stand maher, but i respect him actually attempting and bringing different views on his show.
Fake news. He is just scared of clowning a black tough guy on tv look how carefully he phrased everything.
maher owns a shotgun. but he does have his criticisms about guns no doubt
At the end I was hoping Colion would mention how gun control was historically used to disarm the black populace in southern states after the Civil War. That would've been an interesting reaction from Bill
I feel Bill Maher pulled out of that discussion like a porn star.
"I don't want this cream pie scene/nor the problems that come with it!"
Well he wasnt allowed to finish a thought so it may have been a point he would have gotten to
@@moronnucleosus3339 Bill and Vlad TV have that in common. Cutting people off from their point is like breathing for them.
Think bill knows that. He's on this guys side. Most lib voters ain't.

“I don’t understand or know about this subject, so let me tell you how to handle it” 😂
“People like me, who don’t like guns.. don’t know anything about guns.”
That quote is so accurate, it is scary. Lmfao
And what is more scary is that Bill Maher has said many times that he owns a gun for home protection. So he owns a gun and probably never learns anything about it, how to handle it properly, etc.
That is a dangerous devise to learn how to use in the moment.
I came here to say this exactly! At 3:36 in the link provided he admits to owning 2 guns. ruclips.net/video/7NMOMscsA2c/видео.html
Nic Elwell RUclips disabled the video. We cannot be having too much truth now can we :)
The same could be said about cars, houses, kids.... where do you draw the line on personal liberties? In my opinion, you cant... you just have Liberty.
Colion is always getting interrupted in interviews .... He's so bright and a great speaker and educator
Yup. Strategically cutting him off to say some nonsense or strawman because they don't want that point being heard.
Nope.
Yet he always handles it with poise and grace.
He's great, I wish we had that level of demeanor in all aspects of debate, particularly in recent years!
He got his ass a few times and conversation got shifted.is point on teachers being armed is good and when he said why not have the same power to get the same arsenal to fight back the government
i'm pleasantly surprised how reasonable the conversation is. They set a good example about how people should have constructive dialog about it
That's because it's just the two of them.
It is not reasonable because the black guy is lying or ignorant. Bill is just ignorant.
“A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of the free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed”. If we are so highly sophisticated and so intelligent, then why is it that we don’t understand that today and they did 248 years ago?
