Uncle Archie is my grandmother Myrtle's younger brother. Uncle recently passed away so, with a heavy heart, I've come to RUclips to be reminded of how many hearts he's touched through his music. Thanks for listening and spreading his love.
Archie is an amazing social commentator. He used to sing alongside his wife Ruby Hunter. They were both part of The Stolen Generation and many of their songs reflect their past. Thankyou for your interest.
Didy our brother if ever you are in australia connect with your family here, your old old brothers and sisters of the land, black fulla here will show you mother in a deep and meaningful way and you will never be the same again and your heart will open up and all her love and warmth will fill it. We see you and we see you have signs of LIFE and we are sure you will take that knowledge back to the North. The oldest story in history is the Seven Sisters and we all come out of a Woman. Much love and we remember Archie with respect and his lyrics and music will always be here to comfort. Peace love and respect you all.
My dear brother. One day I will come and visit, and then I will for sure take you up on your words. For me it would be an absolute honour to meet all brothers and sisters from the land, and I would very much like to listen to Your brothers, sisters and elders stories. Peace and Love and Respect to You all too 💖💖
Didy, you are a true gentleman. Thanks for your interest in and respect for our First Nation people. Archie is a true Aussie talent and we love him here. His work is so relevant. Cheers and thanks m8!
It is an absolute pleasure. We should all try to widen our horizons and the First Nation people of Australia has more than 50.000 years of history so I find it very interesting to learn about them. Archie is fantastic 💕
We sadly lost Uncle Archie yesterday but there's comfort in knowing that he returns to the peace this world too often and perhaps constantly robs us of. Watching your video though humbles, calms and inspires me in a multitude of ways through your compassion, wisdom and respect that are traits I associate with Uncle Archie. Traits undoubtedly heightened by his storytelling and use of song with that unmistakable, soothing, beautiful tone of his. I believe his spirit resides in his songs so it may come to reside within us should our hearts be open to a better, more loving world, not just for the self but for every soul who calls this world home.
Archie is an absolute national treasure - I have had the privledge of seeing him on a number of occasions and every single time it moves me tears. Although there is a long, long list of indigenous artists you should check out - I hold Kev Carmody right on top with Archie. Thou Shalt not Steal is his first single and still one of his best.
Sitting here for ages trying to find words about the stolen generation. We will never really comprehend what our indigenous people have been through, it’s too horrific to even try. I’ve watched the documentaries, heard the stories. But I didn’t live it. Watching on tv isn’t living through it, and the effects it had/has on their future generations. Why are humans so cruel because some look and live differently. The first settlers here could have learned so much about this country, the respect and understanding the land, from our indigenous. But, yes but. The song was very moving indeed, stops you and um - words aren’t enough are they sometimes.
You felt the spirit of Our Mother that's all we have and only want to be honourable to Our Mother Pindan(Earth). Thank YOU for LISTENIG. 😍 P.S. I'M a Yorgah(black Woman) of the Yamatji Tribe from the West Coast of Australia (WA) I am one of the Stolen Generation ♥
There is not much I can say Eileen, so I'm sending You the biggest hug possible❤️ Our time on Mother earth is limited and we should all be doing our best to take care of it and those we share the world with. ❤️
Your a beautiful man Dydy….things are on the improve here in Oz we still have a long ways to go the scars are deep and the mental illness is inter generational, my mother still feels shame about who she is at times and that’s from the way she was made to feel growing up it’s ingrained in her, it’s just the way it is you can’t just simply ‘get over it’. Love ya mate 👍
Give your Mother a big hug from me and tell her that I think she should wear her Pride every day, it looks good on her 💕 Shame is for those who ruined generations of First Nation people.
Very excited to listen to this and thank you for taking the time out to learn some Aboriginal language!! You definitely show so much more respect than most reactors in this domain and it doesn’t go unnoticed. I’m about to watch this now .. as an aside… tomorrow is John Farnham’s birthday and you know how much all us Aussies love him. A whole bunch of Aussies have asked me to ask you if you’d do a Farnsey song for his birthday! I think HELP live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra is a huge favourite for everyone. If you can’t maybe put it on your list for the future! Thanks Didy ❤️
You are too beautiful for this world. What a miracle you are my brother. Impressive with your intro in First Nations language. Impressive indeed. Thank you so much for the shout out as well. Im still healing and that is what all human's strive for, Peace. I love your channel. This song is about family violence. In our culture Lore (not law) is what he is referencing. We have Men's Lore and Women's Lore that is respected. In it we strive for responsibility and respect. Also nature is female in our culture as all of life was birthed from this planet. Mother Earth. It has many layers and reflections especially today with Climate Change as well. We humans need to respect and prioritise our 'Mother' more for if we dont, we too are at peril. Much respect to your culture and heritage. In both mine and Archie's language of the Gunditjmara Nation we say Ngatanwaar (Phonetically: Nut-tan- warr) as hello or welcome and Wurruk (War- rrook -rolling the r's) as goodbye. : )
My dear CharKi, the shout out was well deserved. You shared a bit of your lifes story with me and I feel honoured to read your about experiences and hardships through life. The more people that learns the history, the more chance of history not repeating it self. Take care and lift your head and be Proud of who you are my Friend 💕💕
more true words cant be found there charki much respect. and take solace knowing in the dreamtime we will all be reunited to spend eternity in peace and the warm embrace of the creator and your suffering in this lifetime will only make that time more enjoyable for you
Hey didy Paul Kelly sings an amazing song on indigenous land rights From little things big things grow. A brilliant double reaction would be that followed by the later remake by young indigenous artist Ziggy Ramo

Diddy, there is a show in Australia called Brush with Fame. Ahn Do paints and talks to the subject. I think Archie had him crying within minutes of talking to him.. very emotional episode. You might also like the song get back to the land from Archie as well as I won’t cry with uncle Jack Charlies. Definitely check out from little things Paul Kelly and Kev Carmody.
