    $1,000 for Jerry curls come on this is ridiculous. I don't know how long they last but you have to keep on putting it in.

    • @basiqueopulence888

      It certainly is ridiculous. Not only do you have to get it retouched as your hair grows in the retouch process breaks off the hair that has already been permed. This is a certainty. There is no way to prevent it. Search gina curl here on RUclips to see the videos of what I’m talking about. Thank you for watching & chiming in 🌞

      I don’t doubt there are people who are not being honest about their true texture. I can tell a natural vs altered or synthetic texture just looking at the hair. And with the proliferation of conflicting and often incorrect information from content creators and some professionals alike it can be very confusing and frustrating to be confident in knowing how to care for your hair. So I created this channel to be a guide and a resource 🫶🏽

    There was nothing wrong with her after in the beginning. Obviously, she appears to adore and love the look of having loose flowing curls than she does her own God given hair texture. So sorry that she doesn’t care more for the beautiful hair that God blessed her with and just taking time to learn how to best manage it properly. Even though she may think the type of hair she has is hard to manage, it’s not. I sincerely hope one day she comes to truly see it and deeply embrace it as well. And, no, I honestly have never seen anyone that has ever rocked a Jherri Curl, texturizer, curly perm, etc., with super long, very healthy hair. either.

      @basiqueopulence888  3 месяца назад +1

      I have some questions: 1) what do you consider long? 2) how often did you get it retouched? 3)how many years did you wear this jherri curl? 4) was your hair longer or shorter than when you got your first Jherri curl by the time you decided to move on from it? Because I have many family members who wore Jherri curls and know these chemicals and I have never seen ONE single persons hair thrive with them black, white or other. The hair always gets shorter and thinner over time and it is simply due to the repeated processing itself. So if your comment is true you’re an anomaly in this space.

      @@basiqueopulence888 When it comes to long hair, I consider hair in length that reaches below shoulder length to be long. When it comes to super long hair, I consider the hair to be mid back length and anything longer past that to be such. It’s just my personal humble opinion. Oh, and when it comes to my own personal hair, I’ve never had any permanent wave, curly perm, or Jherri Curl or anything close to it put in my hair. My hair has a loose curl pattern to it naturally, btw. Very similar to Nicole Murphy’s natural hair. But, I did come in contact with people who did have either a Jherri Curl or curly perm put in their hair and I just saw the ones who had such put in, as wanting to impress others with a certain type of curly look to their hair that’s different from their natural hair type and true hair texture. I noticed areas of hair that showed signs of breakage to it, but I never saw any White individual with a curly perm that had long hair and I’ve never seen any Black person with a Jherri Curl with long hair either. And, I have never considered either chemical process safe or even needed for anyone’s hair, but some people don’t care about the safety of things they have put on top of their heads, just care most about achieving a desired look to their hair is all, by way of chemical processing. And, my natural hair grows long, but I have cut it short tons of times, as I was never majorly attached to having long hair all the time. I am totally fine with switching things up, whenever I desired. At this point in my life, I am very focused on healthy living, healthy hair, just trying to maintain good overall health through the products I use on top of my body, as well, as through what I invest inside of it as well too.
      Peace ☮️❤️

    What if you get it but never get a retouch? Since it'll be easier to hide new growth on curly perms than a straight relaxer.

      good question. not getting a retouch puts you in the range for minimal to no breakage provided the proper treatments are maintained and it was not over-processed when initially performed.

    Well I know plenty of people who have them who have long hair my mom my grandma my aunts all had hair down the middle of their back so we can't speak on every hair we can only speak on what we know is nonsense what you're saying because literally it's the same Principle as getting a relaxer you just hit the new growth it's not that serious and you have less Heat so I completely disagree with what you're saying I think that people who have relaxers lose more hair than people who have Jerry curls just based on the introduction to heat but the biggest factor is if you put dye in your hair and any type of straightener that's what causes the breakage

    • @basiqueopulence888
      @basiqueopulence888  3 месяца назад +3

      thanks for your comment. while I do agree ALL CHEMICAL TEXTURE services damage hair in addition to causing respiratory issues and certain types of cancers which is why I never offered them in my cosmetology career. Where we diverge is on why the damage occurs. Simply put its overprocessing of the chemicals whether it be applied for too long a time period, too high a strength or too many times on the section of hair. This is the simplest way to explain why the damage happens. Now in the case of perms where your retouch solution is liquid there is no such thing as "just hitting the new growth " that liquid is going where it goes & THAT yields a much high rate of overlapping = damaged hair than the others. The "protection cream" applied to the previously permed hair is not liquid proof! truthfully it only takes one time for the hair to be over processed and breakage is happening however you generally see the damage a few retouches in with perms. which is why clients are offered this and that treatment and constant trims. And yes putting heat or permanent color on hair that is already chemically reduced in strength via a relaxer or perm will increase the rate of breakage. Be well.

      I get why that bothers you. It doesn’t sit right with my spirit either. Soo many of us are deep into the pathology of hating ourselves as we are.
