Our sister was crazy over Tony Hadley and I would tease her over it! He seemed too theatrical and ridiculously handsome like a matinee idol. Cant believe that we took his enormous talent for granted. It seemed everyone back then could sing. Now I truly appreciate that Tony is more than a pretty face.
The fuckin 80s man, what a decade, I was born in 85 but wish I had been a teen back then to experience 80s discos and all that, 80s was such an epic time❤
A timeless classic. It's a shame that Spandau never did a Bond movie theme. They would've created a masterpiece for View To A Kill in 1985 or The Living Daylights in 1987.
Duran Duran's A View To A Kill slaps tho. Nah that needed to exist that. Legendary song. I'm 21 and never watched the movie but I know the movie exists because of that song man aha.
I don't know what is more surprising: that the song is 36 years old, or that it's still as great and fresh as it was the first time I heard it on "Friday Night Videos"in January 1984. I wanna go back to the 80's.
The seventies and eighties were truly brilliant, the song's ,so many, the attitude and our sense of us! We did it,felt it,went to work, loved with honest hearts and still respected Mum and Dad. And those were the best times, without rancour or predudice. We just got on with it,loved and lost and he we are, had our "rebellion" and realised life is for living, memories of youth, old photos and the one by your side.Life is so finite, wring it by the neck untill it has nothing more to give....only then go quietly into the night.
I love Spandau Ballet. They are soo classy, always dressed up and singing only superb songs, with gorgeous lyrics and refined notes and sounds. One of a kind. I think God really wanted to make a point with them of what true music means.
Que decir de este grupo?! ...Elegancia y Talento.!
That's the difference between many good 80's songs/bands as compared to today. Today's popular music is pretty much narrowed down to urban/rap and MOR rock - they follow a narrow fashion, no room for experimentation.
This classic still haunts me in a good way. If you don’t like this song then there is something seriously wrong with you. I probably doubt you never lived in the 1980s.
One of the strongest spiritual heartly messages in a song, ever. Both visually and words wise. See how careful he puts the dove on to her body to complete her, and how careful he puts in his mosaic to complete his soul. I can learn alot from that…❤️🙏

My mom went to heaven July 17
August 22 was her birthday
I was soo depressed. I stopped crying and abel to get out of bed October 1 My birthday was November 29
Its really really hard for me to visit my mom at the cemetery every week
@@gabrielamontesdeoca8359 i also lost my mom 4 years ago, it’s something hard I was so close to her, i still miss her every day and even on holidays is worse, but life goes on, and we have to carry on, and remember the best times we had 🥀🕊
This could already be a soundtracl for Goldfinger!
tomorrow never kills!
I understand what you’re saying! Yet I’m glad Duran Duran and a-Ha did those tracks ❤️
I agree
Duran Duran's A View To A Kill slaps tho. Nah that needed to exist that. Legendary song. I'm 21 and never watched the movie but I know the movie exists because of that song man aha.
This one is actually my favorite song of theirs. It's got that "80s charm" I miss so much. "Gold."
It's not easy to write a great pop song. Like this. Trust me, this is a very masterpiece. It will last over the years...
It will last forever!!!!!!
It will last as long as there's still GOLD! 😆!
Ha un'armonia estremamente raffinata, non così semplice come le classiche canzoni pop
I'm a 90's baby but im a big fan of Spandau Ballet❤ Greetings from 🇵🇭
👋
@@neilferguson8702 yes?
I don't know what is more surprising: that the song is 36 years old, or that it's still as great and fresh as it was the first time I heard it on "Friday Night Videos"in January 1984. I wanna go back to the 80's.
Best era overall
@@Sakura011 nah I love 2020
Ok
Can I come with you, PLEASEEEEEEEEEEE.
this song is the fundamental reason why 80's music is the best music ever made.
One of the most agonisingly awesome songs of the 80's!!!!! Feel so fortunate to have grown up in that era with such iconic bands!!!
GREAT DAYS, SADLY NOMORE.😥
I agree, and if you are a masochist, try listening to current pop music.................
Came here after hearing it on a video from Abroad in Japan. A very beautiful song.
yeah same
Which video?
The singer has such a great voice - powerful!
My favourite group when I was a teenager. Tony Hadley what a voice!
Facts
The extended version is amazing.. Love this track, Spandau Ballet was one of my favorites 80’s band..
I love Spandau Ballet. They are soo classy, always dressed up and singing only superb songs, with gorgeous lyrics and refined notes and sounds. One of a kind.
I think God really wanted to make a point with them of what true music means.
Totally right.
no one was more suave than tony hadley. no one.
Man..Spandau had so many great songs but this has to be their masterpiece in my opinion..this is pure gold!!
Ba dum tssss
80's music...very very GOLD!
Vero .io sono nato nell 80 e li ascolto da quando ne ho 20 .come tanti altri di quegli anni.
Just hearing Tony Hadley singing this kickass song with Spandau Ballet is a glorious experience! “Gold” is pure GOLD! 👍🏿👍🏿👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
a pray for people who don't know this masterpiece exists

I KNOW THEIR LIVES MUST BE SO EMPTY
lmao

Lol
Pure 80's magic... Nothing comes close. I still have no idea what he is even talking about but it's amazing.
Que decir de este grupo?! ...Elegancia y Talento.!
Hauntingly beautiful song and Tony is too.
Who else thinks that breakdown with the congos is just funky & unexpected
I love it ❤❤❤
That's the difference between many good 80's songs/bands as compared to today.
I can learn alot from that…❤️🙏
I think the whole world should learn to love and respect each other, otherwise we are all doomed.
💖💖💖
my mans gave it his all ☠
But why does her hand fall down after he completed both her and his soul? If feels as if the clip isn't synchronized with the song.
@@dordonake dude he's stealing his gold back from her. He killed her lol
Just a fantastic song - each band member puts in a stellar performance.
I remember seeing this guy live. It was absolutely gold!
SUPERB VOICE.
Love Tony Hadley, I'm meeting him soon 😍😍😍
@@midnightwitch606 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Tony Hadley had butt sex with my ex girlfriends cousin Simon
And,indestructible.
I'm taking a time machine back to the 80s, who's coming with me?
Any chance we can stop in 1991 for a bit? I want to go back to when I met my ex and slap the shit outta her.
LOL! Sure would appreciate if I could borrow it to get back to the mid-60's during the beginning of the Golden Age of Rock. I'll drop you off and keep headin' back.
Okay, but drop me off at 1998. Specifically on November 19th, I wanna get half life one.
Can we stop at Christmas Day 1973 too? I wanna see the Sweet 🥰😂
Please take me with you bro I hate 2021.
This is my favorite song ever…I wasn’t around in the 80s but I sure love it so much! It empowers me :)
I am not surprised. 😂
oh hi maddy!! lol great to see you here. I come back to this song all the time since I'm a gorillaz fan and this was used in mtv cribs.
I love this song so much too ^∆^
@@mercurybarz heyyyy!! that’s so awesome! Do you know how there was that one corona stage school spotlight book video? Well this was the song used for the Italia Conti stage school from that same channel, and that’s how I’m here :)
I was only 10 in 1983. I always loved this song.
🤝❤
I really envy my parents who were born in '64... teens in the '70s, in their 20s during the '80s and in their 30s during the 90s... man whay a time to be alive with such good music!
It definitely was m8
This song has stood the stand of time. It ticks every box for me, it's just perfect in every single way possible. The tune, the singing, it is just that good. So good that I can't even write it all on here.
Caramba que música! Que voz! Tony Hadley potência vocal incrível
My mum played this every day when she was pregnant (not with me, my sister) and she still loves this today!
Bless her, your and your sister's soul! 💗
You should ask mum what she played when she was pregnant with!
This is not for pregnat women sound sick do
Tornerei subito indietro.. meravigliosi anni 80!!! Grandissimi Spandau!
Concordo.
eeee...Filippo bella epoca
e noi eravamo giovanissimi!!!!
Just like this music, the 80's were gold
unless you had AIDS
I was in high school when these guys appeared. ABC, Spandau Ballet, Specials, English Beat, Clash, Human League, Prince, Jam, the Police... the music was so diverse back then and I loved it all!
We had the best music, EVER.
Big Country, Marshall Crenshaw, ABC, Hall & Oates, Joe Jackson, and most of all, Talking Heads
@@judyn8227 loved the Talking heads. I saw them at the Police picnic along with English beat, Flock of Seagulls, and Joan Jett.
Don't forget Duran Duran! The 2nd British Invasion was awesome!
@@cynlev oh yah, I still have all my old albums including Hungry like the Wolf. ;) I’ve even got a Chant no 1 EP. My 10 & 14 yr olds do a dance party to that song.
My favorite song from Spandau Ballet
Im a drummer of all styles metal. This drummer was so ahead of his time with the electronic drumkit. I finally got my out E kit. Now I get it.
I'd never really listened to this song much ... it was always about True. But the unusual chord structures and vocal line ... these guys were complex and articulate in their art.
Extremely tight, great hooks, and gorgeous vocals. A great sample of the romantic pop 80s era
Tony Hadley’s voice is pure Gold!!! ❤❤❤
If GTA 6 is set in Vice City this song MUST BE BACK. Pls Rockstar.
