    EVs have done a great job of turning people’s attention toward Hybrids, proving Toyota was right and they’re having their “told you so” moment.

    EVs would not exist if the government hadn't subsidized them and corporations hadn't bought them for their fleets. The vast majority of the public has not bought them, because EVs can't do what ICE cars do now.

      Same old story, same old limitations, and poor resale and unquenchable fires to boot. The same thing that doomed them a century ago and led to their exit from the market. Dimwit government is being influenced, bought off or is just incompetent for the current ev fiascos being played out around the world. The truly amazing thing is the totally inadequate government mandates to build cars nobody (almost) wants. The current infrastructure is near its limit for the load it carries and during peak demand periods, rotating brownouts are necessary. So just where are you geniuses going to get the power for all these evs the world government is cramming down our throats? They don’t care. The Germans actually shuttered their nuclear power stations and went back to buying oil from Mad Vlad. They were cutting down trees for heat last winter, no extra electricity available. Genius!

    In some ways EVs are like computers, laptops and mobile phones, the ever changing technology makes them out of date months after being produced.

      @flyingspirit3549 23 дня назад

      I've wondered the same thing. Given the large number of cylindrical cells inside a typical BEV battery, SURELY someone could get rich by buying up "damaged" batteries, replacing the few actually damaged cells and selling the resulting reconditioned battery at a steep discount to new.

Maybe the main reason why there is a huge stockpiles of EVs in China is bcuz the Middle Class population in China is shrinking or, worst, their economy is experiencing economic downturns and most chinese can no longer afford the luxury in buying vehicles?
