Reality check oil is getting more expensive to extract petrol and diesel prices are rising and will get more and more expensive. Solar wind electric dams and soon wave power generate clean power. Its far bigger than cars which are insignificant .. The entire world knows Electricity is the only sustainable power source. Thats the future. Cars are a very tiny tiny part and not important

I’m 71 years old, a true car nut. I’ve owned many sports/muscle cars including a Challenger RT, Mustang GT and two Corvettes. Also I owned some luxury cars like a TBird and Toronado and Infiniti G37. Those who hate EV’s probably never drove one. I’ve driven many, including the Tesla S Ludicrous, Chevy Bolt and Volt, Audi E-Tron and some others. I have been impressed with the excellen t tourque and acceleration and overall performance equal to or better than many of the ICE c ars I have owned. I have not bought an EV due to their limited range for my purposes and I don’t want to wait 40 minutes for it to charge in the middle of a road trip. Those are reasonable objections to buying an EV. But those saying EV’s are not exciting or fun to drive just don’t know what they are talking about. Any car enthusiast who has a private home where he can charge the car and does not make long trips often would be perfectly happy with man y of the EV’s available today.

Meanwhile...China owns the EV manufacturing market and the future. Suckers.

I'm a little shocked... too bad they didnt locate their balls 2 years ago when they werent ready to produce EV's to start with. I Hope they go after the Climate Kook Politicians for their losses.

BRILLIANT that FORD have FINALLY woken up to reality! No matter how much gormless worldwide Politicians threaten vehicle manufacturers with fines (helps to line their pockets) the everyday working person will NOT, (nor can we afford) buy EV’s especially when the most BASIC of vehicles are costing over £40k+ and much higher! At least Ford have now taken the decision to ignore said Politicians, what Ford AND EVERY OTHER manufacturer now need to do is GET THEIR PRICES back to realistic and AFFORDABLE prices (something that a certain Henry Ford took seriously) for the average working person. £40k+ is in the realms of luxury vehicles, WAY, WAY out of reach for us mere mortals. Unfortunately GREED has become the NORM for Car manufacturers and Politicians. The same gormless Worldwide Politicians who have their brains(?) up their proverbial arses when they fail to put in place the basics ie robust charging infrastructure’s, fail to take in to account those motorists who live in Terraced/town houses or apartments who have no access to to charging points, fail to ensure that the charging points actually work (pathetic in the UK) and fail to regulate those EV charger companies who regularly demand way to high a price to charge an EV for those who have one (mainly company/fleet drivers and the wealthy). So, WELL DONE FORD. Now bring back the MOST POPULAR CAR you ever made in the UK, ie the FORD FIESTA with its ICE. NOT EVERYONE wants nor needs a bloody SUV (Electric or otherwise). 🇬🇧🇬🇧

A practical common sense business decision. Henry Ford himself would have been very proud of the CEOs final choice. Like so many things today, they are forced on us by experts, specialists, and government policies. These are not practical or realistic people.

IMO the Mustang EV is just an ugly SUV with taillights and a Mustang badge. It has superior acceleration, but doesn’t evoke “Muscle Car” emotions or satisfaction. I’d rather buy the ICE Mustang.

I still cannot understand why there is no hybrid diesel. My turbo diesel can cover 500 miles without a fill up. Imagine if it was a hybrid. It could easily exceed 600 miles.

Nearly a year ago Toyota was the first to publicly announce they were focusing on hybrids and putting EVs on the back burner. The EVangelists and their apologists ridiculed them, saying they would be left in the dust by every other manufacturer. I argued with some that Toyota had a 50 year track record of accurately reading public demand and didn’t suddenly become stupid. My comments earned scorn equating my position with people who refused to embrace early automobiles and stayed with horse and buggies. Now many other manufacturers are following Toyota’s lead. 😂

Hybrids solve 2/3 of the problems with EVs. But there is still that remaining third and the list of problems with them is long.

EV fantasy, Νεt-0 paganism and E-vangelism. EV practicality is pure fantasy. Real empirical science is knowledge that is tested, repeatedly and proven, and EVs are proven to be impractical, they can't replace ICE vehicles, because they can't do what ICE vehicles do.

They are still pushing EV transition as it is required to so they don’t go bust with huge fines if don’t meet minimum EV sales out of total sales made per year in countries across the world. To the point that Ford will withhold combustion sales in all counties required to hit the EV sales percentages demanded. All dealers for a while can sell EV with no upfront expenses to be put in place.

It is comical , for all the yammering on, hysterical American anti-communism over the Decades, Washington engaged in a quasi “Green Command Economy” Soviet style with their utterly idiotic EV BS! Well, what do you know, the American People are giving the proverbial Middle-Finger to the indoctrinated Climate Hysterical Fear-Porn Crowd. If for no other reason than the cost/inconvenience of it all.
