    In this video I compare the Titleist TSR3 Driver against the new Callaway Paradym Driver two heavyweight drivers for 2023. These golf clubs boast lots of technology but the Titleist is titanium and the Paradym has lots of carbon but which is the winner??
    Other new driver releases for 2023 are TaylorMade Stealth 2 Ping G430 Mizuno ST230 Cobra Aerojet

    I put my TSi3 up against the TSR3 and vertically the TSR was so consistent. Apart from some left and right the dispersion front to back was really good. TSi has a bigger gap. Hit 5 with the Paradym but it went back into the shop. Horrible feel. Just felt like the Rogue from last year with a new paint job.

    I bought a Ping G425 at the end of 2020 and have really liked it. last year I was paired with a guy in a scramble and he had a Titlist driver. Not sure the model. I held it for a few moment and swung it a time or two and the feel was awesome. Definitely will keep it in mind down the road when in the market again.

    Picked up my new Titleist clubs last week which I was fitted to a full bag fitting. Driver I was fitted to is a tsr2. I noticed instantly my carry was longer than on my stealth especially on off centre strikes and the sound of the driver is the greatest sound I’ve ever heard!!!!! Favourite club in the bag!

    Mike, here’s an interesting one for you - could you put the Paradym up against your favourite of the two new Wilson Staff DYNAPWR drivers? Just as a most expensive (£599) vs relatively cheap (£349-399 depending on whether it’s the carbon or Ti model) head to head. Could be very interesting!

    I noticed the same thing... with the paradym last week, had the 2-way miss going on, and with the tsr3 I had a 1-way miss. I jumped into the TSR3 in Oct after having just jumped into the latest Rogue about 6 weeks earlier (which was after playing TSi3 for over a year).. Rogue LS had lured me in with low spin bc TSi3 was slightly over spinny but it had been very accurate.. the shape of the rogue was very challenging for my eye on course and I had the two way miss Mike spoke of here.. as soon as I hit the TSR3 in a bay I almost fell over, unbelievable speed and forgiveness and I’m not the type to just say that.. it gave me incredible protection on my heel miss and the sound / feel is so solid.. any time I ever get away from titleist woods it’s for callaway they make GREAT products, but you owe it to yourself to try TSR the hype is real

    Had a driver fitting Dec 2022 that included TM Stealth, Callaway Rogue ST, Titleist TSR2, Ping G425 (each with multiple shafts). Titleist felt absolutely dead to me. Couldn't get anything out of it. Came down to Stealth and Rogue, with Rogue ending up the clear winner. Couldn't be happier. Pure hits go like crazy, but the mishits are what amaze me the most. Barely any loss in smash, distance accuracy. So far only indoors. Can't wait to take it outside this spring. Funny how different people can get such different results from similar club tests. The message is clear... Spend the $100 to get a proper fitting if you can afford it. Odds are, if you're spending $500-600 for a new driver you can afford the fitting fee. You won't regret it!

    I was fitted for the TSR2. I went in expecting to get the Paradym X. The Paradym was an amazing club, the consistency was there, the dispersion was low. But I was getting 15-20 yards more with the TSR2 with roughly the same dispersion size and a straighter ball flight. I could have went with either and been happy but the extra yardage helped, and the look of the TSR at address definitely sealed the deal.

    Michael, haven't tried any of the 2023 releases but have tried all those before it. The only one that was better than my Epic Flash SZ was the TSR3 with an upgraded shaft. Didn't want to pull the trigger for a minimal gain at the $910 USD price point, but to date the TSR3 is my favorite driver. I wonder if this is the same club that Mark Crossfield received when doing his review. I think there has to be something different from the review sample in the UK vs the US because the US testing results showed that it was competitive with every other brand out there. At any rate, Titleist went from being an afterthought for woods to being one of the best you can buy. Pretty amazing dramatic turnaround for their R&D.

    Even as a slower swinging Senior (68 years old and about 88-90 club head speed) I have found the same results as you have as far as ball speed retention on not my best strikes with the TSR Line (im playing TSR2) vs Callaway Paradym or Taylormade Stealth and Stealth2 and dispersion results for me were very similar to what you have seen. I had been a loyal Ping Driver player since the Ping G2 Tour head (also played the G10 then G then G400Max then G425 all Titanium heads) I dont feel that I have given up much on MOI over my Ping and have found that I have been able to sneak a few extra yards (8-10) out of my TSR well! Instead I got a TSR2, just back from 5 days in the Algarve and I am really pleased with it. I got my handicap down from 9 to 7 in 2022 despite some pretty rubbish driving, my driver was the only club I could not hit both draws and fades with. Not any more! I’ve played a few rounds with the stealth, epic LS, Maverick sub zero, Mizuno stg, also I’ve had both a Ping g 400 and 410. I’ve played all those drivers (only owned the pings, I rented the others) with stiff to extra stiff shafts and had them all in their lowest lofts as well as set them to their lowest loft hosel settings. The best I could get out of them was a random ball or two a round that went long. Long for me then was 330 total. After I played around with equipment for a while I got fitted and much to my surprise and at that time slight disappointment, I was fitted into a TSi3. I wanted a cool new stealth but the numbers didn’t lie. Now that I’ve played this thing for a season, I can’t tell you how happy I am that I was fitted into this club. I have less dispersion (my Ping was a 2 way miss. This club almost exclusively draws). And it is LONG… like really really damn long. I’ve had rounds where my AVERAGE was 326 total and long drives over 360yds. I track all my stats and shots via gps so there’s no guesswork here. This club by far and beyond, out performed everything else on the market by a huge margin. It’s not for everyone and I can tell you, miss hits can be really bad, especially low spin knuckle balls off the toe… but if you are a high swing speed golfer that can hit it out of the center of the face most of the time, this is a club you need to look at (that and the TSR3 of course as well).
    Again, for reference, it’s both the lowest loft offering (8*) and cranked down to both the lowest adjustable setting (7.25*) and I flattened the lie angle (I forget by how much but it’s probably around a degree flatter). The hosel configurability on this club is incredible, similar to that of the Callaway which is important since lowering loft opens the face and changing lie angle can change shot shape. Few clubs let you tweak both at the same time.

    @MichaelM-to4sg Год назад

    I’m a TSR3 player, traded it from ST220G, mostly due to sound & feel.
    As you demonstrated, the magic of this club is its performance off-center. I can miss by up to 5mm and I’m still seeing almost no discernible drop in ball speed.
    I’d be curious to see you in TSR3 with some adjustments in back weight and loft. My club speed and strike pattern is very similar to you but my carry is 12-15 yds longer, overall length the same. I play the back weight toward toe in position 2, halfway between full toe and center as my misses tend to be toward toe. Hosel setting is D4 on 9* head, netting 9.75 loft. The primary data I always look at on launch monitor w/driver fitting is launch * and spin. I also like to see ball speed, height and dynamic loft. My target is always 12/2450 for our clubspeed. My TSR3 fitted w/Speeder NX 50X @44.5” is 12.2/2400 with deviation of 0.3/230.
    I know you’ve said you’re a low launch guy, and perhaps that’s the best choice if you’re in a lot of wind. I do think if you could get your launch >11.5* you’d see much improved carry and more ability to shape the ball and play hilly courses. Just my $.02 😉

    I just went to a fitting and it came down to the Paradym X or the TSR1. My numbers were similar to yours, not as long but only a few yards difference with the TSR being slightly longer, but better dispersion. Going in I wanted the Paradym X, especially now that it's $100 cheaper. I ended up ponying up the extra cash for the Titleist. It had better numbers, I love the sound and I had more confidence that I could get after it more. I could have gone either way since they were pretty close and better than the others I tried...Stealth, Aerojet, Wilson, Srixon and the Ping. Wilson was a surprising third for me.

    No surprise. After years of having different drivers, brands and models and being in my 70s with obviously now much slower swing speed i was looking to see which driver (and shaft) would give me the most reliability, reasonable distance but tighter dispersion and be a fairway finder and thus give me more confidence. After having and testing some clubs including the stealth for example i ended up with the tsi1. Far happier with this than others including feel sound and looks. Not much difference with the tsr1 so went for the tsi1 as better value. Shaft was key - in my case the cb hzrdus red. Also adjusted the length - shorter for more accuracy. Lovely club. So also for me the titanium outdid the carbon!!

    I have played and loved Callaway and Taylormade drivers over the last 20+ years. I upgraded from the Taylormade M3 to the Titleist TSR3 a couple of months ago. The TSR3 is unbelievable! It is the best looking, feeling, sounding, and performing driver I have ever owned. It is also very forgiving, which I think isn't talked about enough. Will not be entertaining a new driver for at least 4 or 5 years!

      @@FitchYoungTV I used the M3 for 2 seasons and it performed very well. I used it with the weights back in the Y track 10.5 degrees lofted all the way down with a ProForce V2 shaft in X stiff. I finally cracked the face.
      I had the SIM2 and didn't like it because of the spin rates dropping so much on high toe misses then Stealth Plus.
      I'm now in the TSR3 and I can't see myself using anything else until I kill it.
      It's a fine tool. It's precise, long, feels and sounds incredible. Considering the M3 was 5 years ago and since then I've had some physical issues the TSR3 has given me back those lost yards. I've actually had the shaft made shorter than standard in an attempt to find the centre of the face more often which has worked well and my ball speed out the centre is in the mid 170's and off centre it's 170 which is incredible. The M3 I lost around 10% ball speed off centre. TSR3 is more forgiving than you'd imagine too. The weight track I have in T1 setting which helps on the slightly out the toe strikes. Do try the TSR2 though. I chose the TSR3 because I can work it both ways a bit easier. The TSR2 for me hit huge high bombs that went straight and high.
      And a word of wise 😁 I've now got the TSR3 fairway 3 metal which is also very very good.

    • @codycook3382
      @codycook3382 Год назад

      Frisodj, I played the m3 440 so it was the slightly smaller, lower spinning version. I loved it but on days where I didn't have my best swing it could be a little erratic dispersion wise. Out of the middle it goes as far as anything including the new stuff but it just lacked that bit of forgiveness I have really come to love with the tsr3. I tried the tsr2 and tsr3 in my fitting along with the callaway rogue st ls, stealth plus and the cobra ltdx ls. I am a higher spin player so the tsr2 just spun up for me too much but it looked, sounded, and felt pretty good. The Stealth plus felt and sounded great, but it was super unforgiving and did terrible out of the slight high toe. My miss is a hook and with the stealth plus small misses were severely punished. I Didn't really like the cobra either. It sounds and feels very firm, which I dont like. In the end it came down to the rogue st ls and the tsr3. They were super close in ball speed, distance, spin, and dispersion. It really came down to the looks, sound, and feel. The TSR3 is seriously the best looking driver I have ever seen! It is the perfect pear shape with a beautiful mirror black gloss finish, and a black face. I could not get over how good it sounds and feels as well. It has an awesome muted tink off the face and it feels like butter! The sound and feel when you hit it out of the middle is addictive! The biggest shock is how much forgiveness I get with it. All of the reviews online made the tsr3 out to be a "players club" but I'm a 12 handicapper and it is plenty forgiving for me. I got the 9 degree head with the new hzrdus black shaft and I just keep hitting beautiful mid high baby fades 270+ right down middle. The callaway rogue st ls looked, felt and sounded great too, and any other time it would have been the one. It just so happened to be going up against what is for me, the perfect driver. Sorry the post is so long. Hope this helps.
