How is it possible that I stay glued to the TV screen watching "a guy" detail an old truck? I cannot answer that question, but i enjoy every minute of it. Keep the videos coming
Derek, a guy did a great job on the ol Chevy. I have a 2004 Chevy Silveraydo that I bought in 2007. I can’t bring myself to sell it cause it’s been a great truck.Spray away makes good stuff.
Bought my dad a '79 version of a sorta kinda similar truck in '85. Plainer version with a 6 cylinder and three on the tree but very similar interior. He loved that thing, had always wanted a truck. Unfortunately, when he passed in '91 I did not stop my mother from selling his truck. Lots of emotions and all that. I am so glad he had the truck for 6 years. Wish I had it now. A feller misses his dad.
I just found this on RUclips and I'm hooked my son bought a rv and used a gas can and a external fuel pump and got home 3 miles it had been sitting 8 years and because I started watching it here and thanks to you because he would not have known if I had not seen it for myself I love watching
I wouldn’t have been able to do everything you did to that truck, because the more time I spent with it, the more I would want to keep it. What a find. This is two years ago, I hope whoever bought it has been enjoying it.

That c10 is ah mans dream. Lol awsome. These relics are going to be absoleet soon. Glad to see someone giving them a second go round. Theyll never make anything as durable again.
The Big Ten, was basically known as a heavy half ton. GMC built a similar version they called The Gentleman Jim. It was a heavy package with overload springs and a towing package that you could order with the Sierra Grande, which was the GMC equivalent of the Silverado.
The GMC version was called Heavy Half. They had a sticker that read "Heavy Half" in place of the "Big Ten" sticker use on the Chevrolets. Both of those were RPO code F44. That option was available with any box configuration, IE, long or short bed and including the step sides. I currently own a '78 Chevy Custom Deluxe short step side that is has the F44 Big Ten option. The GMC "Gentleman Jim'' and the GMC "Beau James" were limited edition appearance package options only available in 1975. Those options could have possibly come standard with the RPO code F44, but I'm not definite on that.

My first truck was a 1983 GMC Sierra Custom, 2 tone paint scheme, fully loaded, power everything, came with a 6.2 liter diesel which had a descent pulling power but sure was a dog on the quickness. Ran her for 150,000 before I threw a rod thru the block. I rebuilt it and ran it as a work truck for 10 more years after that. Btw, does this one have the high beam button on the floor operated by your left foot? I always loved that as well.
You can keep from hitting the glass with the spray by spraying the cloth then wipe the dash instead of spraying the cloth. Also noticed looks like you were using a microfiber for that. It works better if you use a cloth that doesn’t absorb as much for that use such as a old t-shirt.
My best friend bought a blue 1978 Chevy 1/2 ton stripped ... no radio, no AC .. put a cheap cap on the back and we drove cross country from NJ to S Cali and back ... loved the basic cars of the 70's ... Just wanted to say sprayway has been the glass cleaner of choice of glass professionals for over thirty years that I know of... Their crazy clean surface cleaner was popular with a few trucking companies too! Now the glass cleaner is available at Dollar general... Most Silverados got tilt/cruise and power windows as well as everything you mentioned. The good old days when you went to the dealer and line itemed the options you wanted, and omitted the ones you didn't. I still remember waiting on my dad's 79' custom deluxe he spec'd to come in to our local dealer!
Someone slapped in some of that there anti rust grease in the doors. Looks like they just SNIPPT a hole in the door there to squirt it in. A guy can see the plastique plug there. SWEET!!! Carry on!

This is the only channel i dont fast forward through
14:15 That's kinda typical up here in Canada, people will oil their latches and rub the bottoms of their doors and other rust happy spots to keep them "seasoned" as I like to call it. Not too sure how effective it is, but hey, whatever eh.
yup... used to "wax" my old truck with used motor oil.. especially the bed
Hey man that is the cleanest, rust free, Chevy I've seen on here! Great job!
Beautiful!
That truck reminds me of my fathers daily driver from the early 80’s.
They sure don’t make em like that anymore, sadly.
"It's like watching David Hasselhoff run down the beach. You know you're not supposed to look but there's just somethin' about it" 🤣🤣🤣
Detailing guy here. I clean the glass after I do the dash.
Yep, always save the glass for last. Otherwise you'll have a bad time.
Also I may add that you should spray onto the cloth and not directly on the dashboard. keep up the good work ! Love the channel!!
Yep spraying the cloth works well.
That truck is a gem!!!! U are so so so talented and blessed!!!!
A guy has never thought you could find a 1980 chevy in that good of shape anymore.
Lol! They're everywhere still. Too many! Everyone and their brother has a square body Bowtie or GM pickup truck.
@@cruisinginmy94 Most of those are post-'80, though. The 5 years or so before '81 aren't quite as popular.
Someone slapped in some of that there anti rust grease in the doors. Looks like they just SNIPPT a hole in the door there to squirt it in. A guy can see the plastique plug there. SWEET!!! Carry on!
I tape old news paper to the glass when I cleaning dash boards with spray products works amazing Derek @ViceGripGarage
She’s a great goin to town truck, looks great, can’t beat the old school look!!
