There have always been plenty, and there will be plenty more. I am more worried that the women in the "realm" are all becoming the same as metalhead men: cookie cutter humans with no individuality. From the likes of Christina Scabbia and Anke from The Gathering there have always been women in metal. Look at Riot Girls - and I mean the real shit like My Ruin, not bullshit like Paramore. Women like Tobi Torez and Tarrie B have always been bad asses. And the best thing is Lacuna Coil sounded different to Nightwish that sounded different to Kittie that sounded different to say... Snakeriver Conspiracy or Guano Apes. Now though... You get a lot of over produced and very boring samey "girl fronted" metal and tbh it has made it all stale. Doesn't help that metal has a problem at the moment with being very stale. It got very inbred in terms of influence... Metal bands used to be influenced by an eclectic range of genres... Now metal is just metal inspired by other metal with nothing new being added. Just technically more proficient with better technology used to record, edit and mix. I stopped being heavily into metal a while ago. I listen to many many many genres but metal stopped growing. People into metal don't grow up. In the UK to be a metalhead you have to conform to a stereotype. If you like any sport you cant be a metalhead. You cant be a metalhead and listen to any electronic or digitally created music. If you are a metalhead you cannot wear bright colours. ... Well Eff That! I love Wolves FC and sport! I love glitch and chip music! And I love wearing bright colours! Metal now takes itself too seriously... That's my opinion anyways. If you like female singing then go listen to The Gathering - Saturnine from their live recording Sleepy Buildings. And she doesn't sing like an American. She let's her Dutch voice shine through! Or Anneke Van Giersbergen & Devin Townsend - Bend It Like Bender (live) and hear how he goes hoarse and yet speaks smooth. Vocal coaches on RUclips love him.
Nick Armitt everything you said is everything I already know. :D I say that very happily as you referenced a lot of my personal favorites and seem to be on the same wavelength. That makes me happy! Truthfully I don’t listen to Halestorm but I think she has a great voice. You’re right, there has always been great women in metal. Tarja, Simone, Vibeke Stene of Tristania, Kittie (I bought Oracle when it was released), Amy Lee, whatshername from Within Temptation, and After Forever...all of which I’ve been listening to at least since 2008. I agree that metal (especially American stuff) is stale. So much so I’ve been nostalgic about the early 2000s and I remember not liking a lot of it at the time. Personally, I’ve always been picky about the music and I checked out of mainstream stuff long before screamo and Paramore reared their mediocre heads. I tried to get back in the loop but when I kept finding “metal heads” criticizing Ghost because they thought they were soft, I checked my happy ass right out again. The metal media is afraid of good music. That’s what I’ve learned over my 15+ years as a “metal head”.
I like it. It sounds raw, like sitting in a room showing a song to your mate. They tend to make stuff sound too nice these days, but that's just my opinion. Love the timbre of her voice.
Man just like that sitting on a sofa she start signing and the sound coming out of her mouth is just so POWERFUL, first time that I heard Halestorm after only a few seconds I was absolutely in love with her , I know it’s a whole bands and I get it but you got to admit it’s her voice that’s so addictive. 😍😍😍😍
@@joaofranciscoschramm8678 in terms of beats you get addicted at, and powerful rythmes, Halestorm and the Pretty Reckless are 2 bands that I was hooked on after only a few seconds. 😍😍😍😍
all this time and i can still tell she is from Red Lion. Simply the way she talks. Remember seeing them in Fat Daddy's back in the mid 2000's. they've come a long way.
When she said I Miss the Misery was her favorite song to play live I about fainted. I Miss The Misery is one of my top 5 from Halestorm. Chemicals and I Get Off are in there as well
0:56 😳 like is she serious?! She is totally cool! I've been a fan of halestorm since they came out and always have aspired to be half as cool as lzzy hale! 😩
4:43 1st Halestorm CD track I ever heard was 'Love Bites.' Still a personal fav. Gotta profess, though, that 'Conflicted' is my real fav, as it is very fun to sing along to in my car. Just that opening line gets me going: "Ooh, you were really, really good, last night.." [So Cool].🙀😻❤🔥💋
She has a signature Gibson Firebird too? I wish she would grow her hair back out. Nice amps she has. She needs a Gibson signature flying V to complement her other Sigs.
She still sings really well, but you can tell the fry is taking its toll on her vocal chords. I know she does a lot to keep her voice healthy. It will be interesting to see how long she can keep it up before she has to take it back a little and not sing as hard.
How does she sing like that without going hoarse? She’s amazing. We need more badass women in this realm.
She is hoarse. Listen to this and then something from 3 years ago. The wear in her voice is slowly starting to show. She goes too hard too much.
@@KombatRealm No. She doesn't sing properly. There are plenty of singer that employ Vocal Fry. Just look at Dio or in modern times Devin Townsend.

Wow. I knew her voice was amazing but watching this it really show it that much more live doing an interview
I saw her perform at the 2020 Gibson NAMM party.
Great rock singer and player. She sings correctly and very well.
Would love to met her someday.

“I love ‘Love Bites.’” What a coincidence, Lzzy. That’s my fave song. Man. I gotta see Halestorm live.
Lizzy is so genuine, I can't wait to see them live again.
That voice just keeps getting better and better....damn this covid...i need me a live show.
00:37 You know how powerfull her voice is when you hear the microphone over-saturating like this.
Lzzy Hale's simply one of the best female rock vocalists today!🎤🎸🔊🎶⚡💣💥🔥🤘
Simone Simons?
No she isnt. She sucks
Yeah for sure, out of all 2 of them!
So true. She is awesome beyond comparison.

4:30 Did anybody notice that Lzzy almost mixed up "Love / Hate Heartbreak" and "Love Bites (So Do I)"? It's hilarious the way she stopped herself!
I remember being 13 and hearing her feature in “Shatter Me.” Then “I Miss The Misery.” My love for the band only grew from there 🤍
She has an awesome voice
She really can sing compared to the crap we got these days.

I wish they played the Heart cover live more. Nothing showcases her voice as much as that song
Nice to see ya got dressed up for the interview.

She is a rock goddess
What a humble beautiful lady👍
Sitting here dreaming of an Epiphone version of a Lzzy signature Firebird now
How is she better live then on a record? That’s crazy
Greatest Singer!

Rock on, Lzzy! 💖
Was the mic recording from the other room?
great voice, love her
that new song is super cooolll bring itttt plsss bring new albummm
I´m really addicted in Lzzy performances. I met her in The Song of Woman, by The Hu.
Lzzy debería grabar un disco solo con su guitarra y voz, sería alucinante!
My name is actually jeremy. I just discovered this group. Just head the cover of all I wanna do by heart. Damn good!
Damn Lzzy has some nice low gain, stringy tone. You can't tell live, but this is great. Nice vintage tone!
If you have to retune every 5 minutes, then it's an authentic Gibson
Love Lzzy Hale. High on my list to see live
They're absolutely worth it.
I love the first song. I miss the misery. She is amazing. Can't forget about love bites and so many more that the band has.

I miss the misery was the 1st halestorm song I heard, from then on I was hooked
A rocker that is not covered in tattoos. Not that there's anything wrong with that but it's a shock.
She's so hot they would just dull her shine.
Hale is the Metal version of Benatar with much respect.
My favorite also...and the first of Hale popularity, before obscene fame. Rock on!

Love Lizzy.
So much more than cool!!!!! You fuckin rule Lzzy!!!!!!!
She does AC/DC very well. She should do girl's got rhythm. If she hasn't already.
That girl has a- rhythm
Oh trust us, Lzzy, you ARE cool.
Love bites has such a great intro, chorus, but the bridge is just so aggressive and I just can't help to really start head banging to that.
Izzy Hale I wish I was your friend
Awesome lady cool songs and come back to Albuquerque NM
good to see Laurence Shahlaei moving on to new things after strongman
