I own a decent-sized collection, with a few Gibsons, so trust me. I don't pick hard at all and my $5K Les Paul (with Gibson locking tuners) still goes out of tune after about three songs. It's just one of those "things" that you have to learn to love... and deal with. ;-) Cheers.

@@DinsdalePiranha67 The difference is, you can just lock a strat tem down and its essentially a hard tail. The bad headstock design of most gibsons is just an inherent engineering flaw lol.

yeah - that album has some amazing sounds on it. Also yeah Ozzy/Sabbath till about 1977. Except for the first two "Ozzy" records the music is pretty disposable, as in "solo" Ozzy (or middle aged Ozzy). Some of the classic rock musicians make memorable parts from their ear rather than fingering patterns or using 'exotic scales' - phrygian dominant or minor key notes can sound exotic but just running the patterns back and forth using a metronome doesn't necessarily create memorable audio
I recommend seeing Halestorm live in concert. Every time I've seen them, they've put on an awesome show. Lzzy can really sing. Even live she sings those powerful notes like a beast.
What is so amazing is that she sounds almost the same if not better live! 1st hand knowledge btw

They gave a free concert in this little itty bitty town I lived in. The closest real town (20k people) was about 20 miles away. And they played as if they were on the grandest stage, even if it was a baseball field basically out in the middle of nowhere.
When you get a chance, look up her recent gigs with Skid Row. She's KILLING IT!!!
My mom is actually friends with her! She grew up 2 hours from my house and we got to see her in concert! Best show ever! She’s also so very sweet!

OK, so I’m 58 and I saw Halestorm a few years back with my kids, without knowing what to expect and I gotta tell ya, Lzzy Hale is the real deal vocally and on the guitar. The whole band kicks ass.

I was lucky enough to be on their tour bus at a Las Vegas show. Her brother has an electric & energetic vibe that is felt as soon as he enters a room but when she walked in....I melted & was rendered speechless for the 1st & only time in my life.😍

I mean there's a lot of other factors that go into getting hired as an actor for a leading role like that, but it is, aside for having the names of the characters being the same, Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield, her partner, and she is the main character of the first 2 games, and they deal with Jill finding the truth behind Wayland Corp and their bad deeds that they've done.
All the wrongs they've committed against people and led the world to becoming infested with zombies.
Of course, can't forget about Mr. X and Apocalypse. And some scares along the way.
She is such a cool person, so relaxed and easy going.
2:16 Lzzy was my realization that there were female rockstars. I had a similar musical upbringing with both my parents being big into classic rock and punk. Finding Lzzy in 6th grade made me so excited to see what I could be.
Pretty cool how she figured out how to use her vocals to help her play out her music. Been playing for years and I can't play and vocalize for the life of me.

I know this sounds simple, but.....tap your foot, concentrate on the beat, hear it in your head and it will all sync. It worked for me 30 years ago. An old hippie I met at an outdoor concert taught me that. Ever since that day I could play and sing at the same time. He just made me realize I was trying to hard I guess. Hope this helps. :)

She's earned my respect this day. Never cared much for her music, but she's got heart, and passion for her music. That makes me happy and optimistic for the future of hard rock/metal. Love her firebird, and her looks. She's a very attractive young lady. She's been blessed with a beautiful smile.

When you improvise and sing the same melody at the same time, you really start to play the things you mean to when you jam. That was one of the best improvational tools I was ever taught.

I wish I could have adopted a self-esteem like hers when I was still young and coming up with dope riffs/ideas etc.. Because I genuinely thought you had to be the best or go home. And in era with the likes of Vai, Satch, Slash, Yngvie, Petrucci, Dimebag Darrel... It was nearly impossible to not get down on yourself! I just needed to hear that said out loud to realize the truth in her words.. An unexpected mini-epiphony, here!

I'm always excited for an interview where the musician is upbeat and into either talking about the songs or gear. This was another great interview. I have an older brother like her Dad that got me into all those albums and many more from the 70s. Thank God for my brother or I'd been into disco.
Lzzy has an awesome taste in guitars. I love her explorers and this model too. Such great looking and sounding guitars!!

@@cameronaberner I was lucky enough to see Halestorm and Lzzy live in a pretty intimate venue, allowing me to get as close to the stage as possible haha. And my lord she is PERFECT. I'm quite certain in the hype I proposed to her from the audience during a quiet moment haha. She just laughed and said "you're beautiful" there were after show hugs (if you stuck around long enough afterwards and caught them) unfortunately I did not hang around long enough afterwards. Regrets man. Haha. This was also the last gig on a very long tour in dec 19.

Best rock band today period and her voice is simply amazing.
I still owe her and Joe a round of shots after we hungout a little after one of their USO shows on my old base. Those 2 were awesome to talk to, very fun people. I make it an effort to see them live, arguably one of the best live bands I have seen. Seen them 3 times within the past year in Iwakuni and Tokyo Japan, and in Sacramento for Aftershock Festival. If they see this comment, sorry for the 12 year old gaming name (I did make this account when I was in 6th grade).

I’m not a big Halestrom fan but I like Lzzy and admire her love and optimism for Heavy Metal. She’s a good player and a hell of a singer. Nothing wrong with learning Mary Had A Little Lamb, everybody had to learn it along with Happy Birthday and Jingle Bells, it’s all fundamentals. I had a teacher that was kind of a tyrant about learning chords and scales, but he was right because of you learn those you can play anything. You can play Paranoid, Smoke on the Water, Communication Breakdown, Holy Diver, etc.
If she started making music more in line with Traditional Heavy Metal I'd listen to Halestorm all the time.
