    I love this tutorial, it is very clear and concise. The only thing I would like better is more of a closeup when changing to a new stitch, like the waistcoat stitch. I suppose many have used the waistcoat stitch before , perhaps even in this manner, but for me it is a new experience and I had a lot of trouble getting the hang of it. I had to rip things out several times. My husband and I take walks together in an effort to get rid of excess weight and when winter comes this will help us walk together outside. I had to go to a size N or M hook as my husband's hand is about twice the thickness and half again as large as my hand and I still had to keep it loose to be able to use the hook or go down a size ot two and go through the hole and bring the loop through then go back to the original size. I used Lionbrand Fisherman's Wool due to the snowfall that we may be walking through, wool being water resistant. Thank you so much for making this video.

      I truly appreciate the feedback! I always try to do better in my future videos so I'll see if I can try to get better closeups for the viewers. I'm so glad you found some wool for the project that will keep your hands warm while you walk! This really is one of my favorite projects to make in the winter 😊. Enjoy your walks together! 🥰

    For beginner crocheters: If you're having a tough time keeping loose tension for the knit slip stich, you can go up in crochet hook. For example: If you're using a medium 4 yarn, which traditionally would be done with a 5mm hook, you can go up to a 7 or 8mm hook

    • @alex_does_art129
      @alex_does_art129 2 года назад +1

      I did that and im still struggling 😅

    • @ABCuteCreations
      @ABCuteCreations  Год назад

      Going up on hook size can help make the stitches the correct size if you're prone to keeping your tension tight but it WILL still be difficult to work into the stitches. I recommend slowing down and really focusing on pulling up on your hook to keep everything loose. That will make the process smoother overall. I know it will take longer but you won't have to struggle to work the hook into each stitch 😊. Thanks for watching and commenting! Happy new year!

    Why are there no captions 😞 please always add captions for deaf/HOH people so we can follow too

    • @ABCuteCreations
      @ABCuteCreations  Год назад +11

      @knittedpainting Thank you so much for bringing this to my attention! I was completely unaware that there were no subtitles automatically generated for this video. I have found a couple of my other older videos that didn't have them as well. I'm currently working to fix this issue. I have manually updated the language of my older videos to English (United States). I BELIEVE this will fix the issue and RUclips will automatically be able to add the closed captions now but I will check back tomorrow to be sure. Again, I thank you for bringing this to my attention as I was completely unaware and would never intentionally exclude deaf/HOH people from watching my content. I will also monitor future videos to make sure they properly add captions. Thank you again! Happy New Year!

    • @womaninwool
      @womaninwool 4 года назад +1

      If you've never crocheted before, you may want to go for a basic first. Like a granny square or a square. Take a look at things like"how to crochet" or"how to chain/single crochet/double crochet " just as an honest opinion. You may be gifted though so give it a shot!

      I'm so glad you liked the tutorial! It really depends on your speed for crochet. I found that this stitch takes me a little longer than doing a regular single crochet stitch but the whole process takes me roughly the time it takes to make a hat. Maybe a little more. Hope this helps!

      Hi, Derie, I do not have the weaving in process on video for this particular project. I just ended up tying off a knot on the inside of the smitten (you have to reach inside working through the glove holes), then I wove it back and forth several times through the stitches to really secure the yarn. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching :)!

    How much yarn do it need for this?

    • @ABCuteCreations
      @ABCuteCreations  Год назад

      Hello! I don't have the exact amount but I can say that I used Caron one pound for the tutorial and had plenty left over. I would say if you wanted to use something similar to Impeccable yarn, for example, I would purchase 2 skeins to be on the safe side. I'm guessing it would work out close to 1 skein but might go into a 2nd skein so I'd plan accordingly.

    Hi, is there anyone who can tell me how many meters of yarn I would need for the smitten? 742 yards / 678 meters seems like too much for just the one smitten 😄

    • @ABCuteCreations
      @ABCuteCreations  Год назад

      I did use a larger skein of yarn for the project but hardly used much of it at all. I'd say it'd probably use close to 1 skein of a normal sized worsted weight yarn. You can always grab 2 just in case. Then you could use the extra to make the matching mitten 😉. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching and commenting!

    It is a great pattern, and I wish you would have some written instructions to go with it. At some points it was honestly painful to hear you repeat, over and over and over and over and over again to stitch into the V. It would’ve taken far less time for me to make these if I had a written patterns and having to stop and fast forward through it all over and over again.

    I'm so sad about this tutorial.. I thought. this would be beginner friendsly but most of the time I can't see where I'm supposed to put my hook and a lot of the tutorial I have to watch over and over and over again because it's going waaay too fast!! I'm especially stuck on the part from the cutt on to the mitten part, I have no clue on where I'm supposed to place my hook?? Even though you're explaining it you're kind of hiding it with oyr fingers and positioning your hands in the way so can't see.. I really hope you make an updated version with better view of the work and that you go a bit slower for us beginners :))
