I made three different baby blankets. They loved the stitching. I even made some headband as areas mere. A lady stopped me and loved the stitching. Took her to your channel. Thank you for our design!!!
I hope the project works out well for you! It's definitely one of my go-to-projects. I do TRY to respond to everyone. Sometimes it takes me longer than I'd like 🙈 (unfortunately), or I'm unable to properly translate a comment but I do always try to respond. Thank you so much for watching and commenting! You brightened my day 😊. And hello to you from the states (or, Wisconsin, more specifically) 😁. I've always thought it would be wonderful to travel to Ireland someday.
Such a sweet idea! It takes a Mom to know what children like and can actually be a benefit to them. My great niece (my heart says grand daughter) just turned 3 months old. I'm going to make one for her.❤ Thank you from the Great Smokey Mountains in Tennessee. 🐾🍂🍁
I absolutely love this! Please let me know how it goes! This has been a favorite blanket of mine for years now and I have had several friends who also agree. Congratulations on the newest addition! Thanks for watching 😊
Stunning pattern.....and sooooo easy to remember! I have a ton of blankets that I have to make for moms in need and this will work great. Thank you so much for sharing!
I absolutely love that you're making blankets for moms in need! That's so awesome! And this really is a great pattern to work up in my opinion because they're blankets that can be used year round and work up relatively quickly. Thanks again for watching and keep up the great work!
This is the easiest blanket tutorial I've ever seen. THAT YOU FOR SHARING THIS!! Can't wait to make one of these for my new granddaughter who is due in September!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this!! What a fantastic idea! I love that you're giving back with crochet. So incredibly thoughtful of you! Thanks for reaching out and thanks for watching!
Thank you so much! I try to make my tutorials as easy to follow along with as possible. Thank you for watching and good luck on the blanket! Feel free to share on Instagram and tag me so I can see your finished project @abcutecreations or on my Facebook page at facebook.com/ABCuteCreations/
I have a question if anyone can help. On the first row you said DC, ch 2 then sc in same space but I noticed from watching video that 2nd row looks like the dcs and scs are being placed in each opening. Just wanted to make sure because I love this pattern and i want mine to look like yours!! Thanks in advance!
Yes, you are correct. Each of the stitches are being worked into the opening you created in the previous rows chain 2 spaces. I hope this helps clarify things. Thank you so much for watching!
I love this stitch. I am making a scarf with this stitch. I did a chain of sixteen and followed the pattern. I haven't finished yet but it is coming out real nice. Thank you
I think a scarf in this stitch would be just lovely! If you'd like to share your project with me when it's done, I'd love to see how it turns out! You can take a picture and tag me on instagram @abcutecreations or on my facebook page at facebook.com/ABCuteCreations/ 😊
ABCuteCreations For some reason I cannot send a photo to you through Facebook. If you can go into my page you can see it. I also did a border. It came out so nice.
That really depends on how large or small you'd like the holes to appear. Personally, I like that this baby blanket "breathes" really well. I don't worry as much about suffocation or overheating. You'd probably be good sticking with the same size hook or sizing down 1-2 sizes. I hope this helps!
I'm so glad this worked out for you! I LOVE passing on the knowledge of crochet to others and I'm glad the video was able to assist you with that task. So great that you're passing on the love of crochet to your friend! Keep up the great work!
Hello! Thanks for watching! You could use this pattern with any type of yarn. It all depends on what you want the finished product to be used for. I hope this helps! Thanks so much for watching!
Thank you so much for the kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed the tutorial. Please feel free to check out some of my other tutorials as well for other patterns 😊. Thanks for watching!
I am very new to crocheting when you get to the part where you do a DC in the chain 2. You than say you do a SC into that loop but it looks like your going into a different stitch than you did the DC. I am confused
This video is a little hard to tell but you definitely want to continue to work into the same loop. Hope this helps! Best of luck with your blanket and thanks so much for watching!
I'm making hats and blankets for newborns and preemies at our local hospitals. I'm thinking this lovey might be proper size for preemie? what do you think? also, for preemies I don't want the holes to be big, so a smaller hook? love your pattern.
I think that's a great idea! I love that you're doing it! Yes, sizing down on your hook size will cut down on the sizes of the holes. There will still be some gaps though. Play around with it and see what you like best 😊. Good luck!
OMGOODNESS, I have my second great granddaughter coming the end of summer and want to make this. I have been looking for a cute pattern and this is it. I LOVE the texture of it, the small 'finger' holes. I am going to try to put a border around it. What do you think? Thank you so much for the GREAT tutorial.
That's wondeful! I'm sure it will be something she will cherish for years to come! I like the pattern because it has a lovely wave around the edges so you can leave it as is but a border would be just lovely as well. Good luck with the project! Thanks so much for watching!
I would always follow the advice of the doctors. They typically recommend that nothing is placed in the crib with the baby. So for the use of the blanket, I would absolutely check with the child's pediatrician first but blankets are very useful as the child grows. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching and commenting!
I'm glad you like it! Feel free to play around with it! It would definitely make the blanket thicker but that could be a great look as well! Just remember to up the hook size and know that it will also make the holes appear larger. I think it could be a great look! Let me know how it works out if you try it!
I'm so glad you enjoyed the tutorial! If you want to share your finished project, I'd love to see it! You can find me on Facebook at facebook.com/ABCuteCreations/ or tag me on Instagram @abcutecreations 😊 Thanks for watching!
This was just a small "Lovey" so you could really get away with scraps for it to be honest. But if you wanted to make a larger blanket, you could get away with 1 large or 3 normal sized skeins of baby yarn.
Thank you for your video. I have made 2 of this pattern but mine didn't turn out the same. Something is not right. Anyone has this problem? I have watch this video over and over and some my first row and second not the same as in video. What did I miss? Help!
Hmmmm....I'm not quite sure what happened. I know someone else had pointed out that it was a little difficult to see that I was working in the chain spaces. I do have a written pattern that may be of more help (even though there isn't much to the wording). You can view it here: abcutecreations.com/easy-baby-blanket/ I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have other questions or are still having problems. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Hello! I have some better pictures of my completed baby blankets from this pattern over on my Facebook page. If you'd like to check them out, you can do so by going to facebook.com/ABCuteCreations/ Hope this helps!
Hello! The pattern should be [double crochet, ch. 2, single crochet] all within the chain 2 loop from the previous round. The only time you will chain 3 is at the end of each row and once you turn your work you will work the pattern repeat into the first chain 2 loop. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions :).
I was just wondering, although this pattern is beautiful without a boarder , has anyone put a boarder on thier blanket ? And if so what type of boarder ?
I haven't actually tried a border with this one because of the way the border already sits. With the slight wave, I felt it was lovely as is but I'm sure you could search out crochet borders to get an idea of some gorgeous ideas. If you wanted a simple border, single crochet with some chain stitches in between each ripple to account for the added spacing would be a nice and simple touch :).
Thanks you so much for this blanket, will definitely do for the charity l crochet for,I'm doing it in a pastel baby green, it's so pretty and l love the way the sides are like tiny shells, love all your tutorials ,thanks for sharing and keep them coming,😊😊😊
I love that you're going to do this project for charity! I'm sure some little boy or girl will be THRILLED to have it! That's so wonderful that you're blessing others with your talent! And I agree, I love the way the sides turn out with this project. No need to add a border after :). Good luck with your project and let me know if you have any questions!
I had posted a few pictures of this blanket in various colors a while back so it might be much further towards the bottom of the page. I believe I had a seafoam green and white version and blue and white version.

ABCuteCreations thank you so much for getting back to me so fast please keep yourself and family safe in theses scary times Thank you for taking the time to do the videos to help us, keep up the good work I am going to make this size and see how it looks, I don't have any children to crochet for as they are all grown up, I make things for a cancer unit to sell and hats for people having chemo and items for prem babies as I was a prem baby 56 yrs ago and my wieght was 1lb 3oz, my sister said I looked like a skinned baby rabbit and fitted in your hand so I want to try and give back if you know what I mean xx
Thank you for the feedback. I will take that into consideration for future videos. I encourage you to watching some of my new videos and hear your thoughts.
I'm so sorry to hear you had a difficult time following along with this tutorial. If you're on a desktop/laptop computer watching, you can go to settings and change the speed to slow it down. Perhaps that would help with the explanation. Otherwise, if you have a specific question, I'd be happy to do my best to answer it if I'm able to! Thank you for watching and commenting. I hope this has helped!
I made three different baby blankets. They loved the stitching. I even made some headband as areas mere. A lady stopped me and loved the stitching. Took her to your channel. Thank you for our design!!!

I do not have Instagram. Sorry.
Just try making it. As I said I chained 16 and just followed your pattern for the baby blanket.
Lovely blanket with dk wool what size hook uk

Beautiful little blanket x is this ok to do for premature babies? Whats the size of the blanket in inches please? Xx

I like this stitch! Do you know if it will look as good with Bernat Baby Blanket or do you think that is too thick?
I'm glad you like it! Feel free to play around with it! It would definitely make the blanket thicker but that could be a great look as well! Just remember to up the hook size and know that it will also make the holes appear larger. I think it could be a great look! Let me know how it works out if you try it!
Thank u so much for this blanket it is beautiful. I am definitely going to make this.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
For a c2c baby blanket what would the measurements be ?
Is double crochet and single in same place?
Yes it is! Thanks for watching!

I really liked that pattern.
Thanks, Brenda! It's one of my favorite blanket patterns :).
HELP... Does the single crochet go in the second chain three loop?
Hello! The pattern should be [double crochet, ch. 2, single crochet] all within the chain 2 loop from the previous round. The only time you will chain 3 is at the end of each row and once you turn your work you will work the pattern repeat into the first chain 2 loop. I hope this helps! Very pretty
Thank you so much! And thank you for watching! I appreciate the support!
I went to FB it I didn’t see it, was it in pink and white?
I had posted a few pictures of this blanket in various colors a while back so it might be much further towards the bottom of the page. I believe I had a seafoam green and white version and blue and white version.
Thank u for this beautiful crochet patern, next time can you please get a better angle
I appreciate the feedback! This was one of the first videos I ever created. I pride myself at always trying to improve upon my work. I hope you'll give my current work a go and see if I've done so. If not, I'd love to hear suggestions! Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
Love the pattern trying it now wish would be a little slower on the double Stoch direction and chains very new here lol
Keep practicing and replaying and you'll have it down in no time! It's a really great stitch to use in a pattern because of the open weave. It can really make it easier to find your loops and where you need to work into the next stitch. Best of luck to you!

I love, love, LOVE this! That's so wonderful of you! I'm so glad the pattern has worked out so well for you! Keep up the great work!
Doesn't look as if your putting the single crochet in the same chain 2 space on row 2
The second row can appear a little off in the videos because of the chain stitch row at the beginning. It was definitely worked into the chain 2 space though. Thanks for watching and let me know if you have any further questions :)!
Melanie, you are right the video stich pattern is not the same as the written one. I have made 2, mine did not turn out the same. They are different pattern.
How many ounces needed ?
Hello! It completely depends on how large you want the blanket to be. I found that a decent sized blanket could use a full pound of the baby blanket yarn or more if you want to go for an afghan-sized blanket for say your couch.
Easy to follow
I'm so glad you think so! It's definitely one of my go-tos for baby gifts! Thanks for watching 😊
Would you please be kind enough to provide a written pattern for your baby blanket? It's darling, and I would like to try and make one. You go sort of fast, so i'm not sure where the stitches are to be placed. I am 73, and don't really see all that well. Thank you so much. You're very talented and sweet.
Clara
Hi, Clara! Thank you for the kind words! I don't have written instructions for it but when you're working your [double crochet ch. 2 single crochet], they are getting worked into the same chain 2 space created in the previous round. You'll just keep doing that sequence into each chain 2 space until you get to the end of the row, chain 3, turn your work and begin again. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions!
CLARA B
I now have a website up and running and the written pattern can be found here: abcutecreations.com/easy-baby-blanket/
Awesome !!!!
Thank you! 😊
Clara. You're right. It is not very clear the way we shall do it
What are the measurements please
btw if anyone is in New Hampshire, I'm looking to start a crocheting group, for all crocheting projects, but my heart is with preemie and newborns, and children with cancer who are going through chemo.
Such a great idea!
Silly question is a lovely blanket a small for a car seat ect so sorry to bother you
Not silly at all and certainly not a bother. We've used lovies as a soothing tool in the past. My kids have all loved snuggling with the crocheted blankets they've been given but a lovey is a really nice sized blankie that fits right in your purse or diaper bag. So when you child is upset or needs comforting, you can just pull out the little blanket instead of always carrying around a full-sized blanket. I hope that helps answer your question 😊.
