- Today we are focussing on the best Rangers Villain of All time. The legendary Lord Drakkon. The evil version of Tommy Oliver. He is a character created by Boom Studios for their Power Ranger Comics. I hope you enjoy this full history of Lord Drakkon.

@@TheAcadianGuy Honestly for me, I think I had my expectations really high. I’m a huge MK fan and I expected with MK being such a huge name that they’d have the top guys working on the movie. Character development was lacking and it was pretty cheesy. The part that ruined it for me too was that it wasn’t true to the story, which I know isn’t a huge deal but it bothered me lol. So you’re right it wasn’t that bad, but it was for me I guess lol

The fact that skull ends up becoming a skillful rebel spy illustrates just how bad Tommy was whooping their ass. I really hope this gets a movie.

He rejected Kim’s advances because she was currently still devastated about her break up with Matt citing his mother acted the same way she was. Of course the date ends but it was kinda admirable that he could tell she wasn’t well and didn’t take advantage of her.
To know that you alone, in all the Multiverse, made the choice you did, must have been shattering for Lord Drakkon.

Just read Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #1 from Boom Studios and go from there. It's an excellent comic series.
I may have grown out of Power Rangers when I was 9 years old but I got to admit despite me not being much of a Power Rangers Fan anymore I still like Lord drakkon he's a good villain.
Facts
I was watching power rangers up until my early 20s. I fell off after mystic force
I actually started watching power rangers when I was 9 during MMPR. I stopped around light speed then started watching again during dino thunder. Tommy was actually the reason I got back into it during that season.
I'm 32 I haven't watched an episode for a long ass time up until recently when they put it on Netflix it was a tolerable series.
I went through a phase where I wanted to be "more mature" so I didn't keep up with PR at all.
Now I've been coming back and revisiting everything and even seen the the stuff I missed out on.
There is so much good stuff.
My only regret is that I ever stopped being so deep into the series.
This is like Tennet, Loopers, and Power Rangers all rolled into one.... never knew this universe went so deep and had so much murder!
It’s a shame that the greatest and most dangerous villain in power Rangers is only in the comics. Jason David Frank in that live action trailer is so awesome!

They need to introduce King Tyranno, Jason's alternate Earth version who acquired both MMPR Red and Zeo Gold powers. He not only defeated all enemies in his timeline but began travelling through the Multiverse to help other ranger teams....EPIC!
That would be awesome. If they do introduce him it would be as the one who stops the future civil war between the Power Rangers, and Omega Ranger.

To be honest, I’m beginning to worry that they’re going to try to make a last minute redemption arc for Lord Drakkon. Don’t get me wrong, I have no problem with redemption arcs, as long as they are handled well, they don’t come out of nowhere, and if the villain in question can believably change for the better. But what makes Drakkon such a memorable and unique villain is that out of all the versions of Tommy Oliver in the multiverse, he is the only one who did evil willingly. He chose to join Rita Repulsa. He chose to kill everyone that he did, including Finster 5, his most loyal ally. He chose to destroy the multiverse and create a world where everyone loved and worshipped him. Realistically, he’s made too many bad choices to change his ways. Honestly, it seems like nowadays, character development and things like that are nothing more than flimsy excuses for inconsistent writing.
P.S. I’m also worried that they might also try to give him some loved one out of nowhere, or say “Oh, he really meant well when he destroyed everyone and everything.”
Though he did a lot of terrible things, he's not truly irredeemable because of a few reasons.
1. He initially joined Rita because he literally thought that was the right thing to do and continued to think he was doing the right thing until OG Tommy was resurrected.
2. He conquered to recreate, not destroy (though he had no problem doing whatever he thought was necessary to do so)
3. After conquering everything, he did just that, recreated everything in his image of perfection (though a very solipsistic image).
4. OG Tommy more than likely was resurrected by Drakkon's sub conscience desire to do the right thing.
There are a few other minor things but those are the major ones I noticed after listening to this video. Now though he can be possibly redeemed, it couldn't happen suddenly. It would have to be similar to Vegeta's redemption where he goes from villain, to ally out of necessity but is still bad, to antihero, to self proclaimed undeserving hero.

I hope he isnt redeemed too , and if imma compare him to another anime character of the same cloth , I'd go with how Dragon Ball is currently dealing with Freeza. Freeza will never be redeemed , he is also a villain willingly who will never stop his evil ways, in that world he is what you could call a force that happens to exist , that interacts sometimes as the main villian or a part in the story that pushes it forward from the backline (similar to how freeza was in the broly movie). I'd like them to use Drakkon like that if possible.

Lord Drakkon is the Ultimate Enemy to Power Rangers, and hopefully we see more of him in games, series, and possible movies, it doesn't even need to be a live action film

@Felipe Meza to some extent you are right but look at celebrities and billionaires not all of them,but they are lonely, Jeff bezos wife literally cheated on him and majority of other millionaires seem have problems in there lives that we normal people don’t have so it all balances out. So fun story, I’m an 80’s kid and the Power Rangers came on while I was in my pre-teen years, followed the show till the end of the Zordon era and then would randomly peek at different seasons to see what the themes were. For a bit I watched the source Super Sentai but just like you Lord Drakkon got me back in and I’ve been happily collecting some Lightning Collection figures here and there, my goal is to own at least one of each of Tommy’s ranger forms. Got White Tiger and Drakkon with Ranger Hunter but I’ll eventually find a good deal on a Green Ranger

I read the comics of shattered grid it's amazing story and Lord Drakkon character was giving me that mixed version of Loki,Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader, and Thanos vibe in a good way
Comics are the best medium for these type of stories your not limited by anything at all
I want to see a sequel where Lord drakin becomes good and being a knock off zordon to a new team of rangers to stop the monsters and Lord drakin from a nother universe who has one last universe to conchor and it's the one the new rangers are part of
If Kyuranger is adapted for the 30th anniversary show, I can see Drakkon being the main antagonist. He is capable of running his own empire and could bring the universe to its knees like Don Armage and Jark Matter in Kyuranger.
Imagine this as a triple A big budget production. Live action or animated. Animated would allow for more characters to be used especially since Trini is quite important and her voice actress is no longer with us. But man this would be amazing especially after the power Rangers movie which was pretty good in my opinion which proved this franchise has the makings to create more big budget triple a films.
They could just replace the Trini character with Karan Ashley who played Aisha.

I really enjoyed the reveal of Drakkon and who he was and all that and not getting spoiled by it since I was reading it when the issues came out. I get the hype around him but I think it's a bit overblown since I was never a Tommy stan.
I feel like brining him back is a bad idea. I was hoping he wouldn't come back but here we are. I just hope what they do with him pays off. I'm really liking where they're taking the books.
Because prior to turbo he was in another dimension. The tube that dark spector use keep him seal in our reality so that scepter could drain his power
I absolutely loved shattered grid. One of the best stories I've read in a long time. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get into the aftermath stories yet but I will eventually. That story and this channel have gotten me back into power rangers. I'm currently rewatching season 2. It's so cheesy though. I can't believe I used to watch it religiously when I was a kid or that I'm watching it again.

Recently, Power Rangers appear to be pushing more for an interconnected story with its worlds on the TV Show. The next season is Dino Fury (Dinosaurs again? Dino Charge was only 3 series ago) and the only returning character is Mick Kanic so far. However, Tommy has had close connections to Dino Rangers due to being the Green Ranger in Mighty Morphing and the Black Ranger in Dino Thunder. With the move towards more connected plot....is this the perfect time for the TV show to add in a Lord Drakkon plot?

Rita was too nice for a villain. At one point she showed care for Goldar and she had a bit of a motherly vibe with Tommy. Her relationship with Scorpina was like a mother and rebellious daughter.
Don’t get me wrong she was a villain.

Green Psycho Virus
(My first time writing a Power Rager story)
A familiar beep echos from Tommy Oliver's wrist communicator. A device that has accumulated years of dust. "It's just my imagination..." Tommy mutters when it beeped again. Putting caution to the wind he picks it up and taps the pen that activates the radio communicator. "This is Tommy. "
"Tommy...Green...Help..."
He nearly fell of the stool he was setting on. Theirs no way... Tommy thought. "Zordon..." With all the crazy talk of a multiverse. It was the one thing that made since.
"Yes...Green...Help..."
Tommy noticed a glow from a familiar looking box where he'd kept a piece of his past hidden. The boxes looked identical to the Dragon Gagger. Opening the box the golden glow came from a coin with small cracks along the outside. A ZazaDragon claw in the center of the coin. "I can't morph..." He spoke back into his wrist communicator.
"You...Can... Help...White..."
Tommy lifted an eyebrow at that last part. "White? As in The White Ranger?" His curriooucity was building and the vow he took when he first became the Green Ranger after the Sword of Darkness was destroyed. He tapped the button. "How? Where?"
Upon saying that a portal opened up in front of him. A shimmering white light flowed from the tunnel along with roaring gust of wind. Clenching the Green Power Coin in his hand he stepped through the portal. "One last fight." He muttered and stepped out on the other side wearing his original Green Ranger costume. He could feel the hot breath on his face from under the helmet.
The area he founded himself in was a dense forest with sparse patches of light that shined down from the canopy. "What is this place?"
"Like you said Tommy. One last fight, but you won't be who you were."
Tommy stood transfixed at the person before him. He'd heard the stories of the Psycho Ranger's from the old days. "A Green Psycho Ranger?"
"Tommy."
Looking to the left he caught the site a still familiar looking white costume. Guess I was right.
"I have battled him. It'll take both of us to stop him." The White Ranger said.
Tommy heard him and kept this Green Psycho Ranger in his line of sight. There was something unsettling about him. He saw a strange looking Green Dagger in his hand.
"Say hello, to my Green Psycho Dagger." He said brandishing it in a flurry of air slashes. A green glow followed the blade through the air.
The White Ranger kept at a distance but stayed close to the Green Ranger.
Tommy didn't see the slight green glow of Saba's eyes on the White Ranger's belt. A green crack was emitting the same glow as the Green Psycho Dagger on Saba.
"You brought me here to fight with you?" Tommy asked.
"Yes, a Legendary Ranger must fight another." The Green Psycho Ranger replied in a deep raspy voice. His head shook slightly while he spoke. Energy cracked from a small crack in his visor.
Tommy kept his eyes locked on the Green Psycho Ranger and readied his Dragon Dagger.
The White Ranger stayed behind the Green Ranger with Saba drawn from his belt.
"Looks like it's two on one." Tommy said and felt the force of the Green Psycho Ranger's Dagger connect with his Dragon Dagger.
The White Ranger crept closer to The Green Ranger while he was occupied.
The Green Psycho Ranger then started muttering in a familiar voice that sends chills down Tommy's spine. "Tommy...Green...Help..."
Tommy turns and heard the same familiar voice coming from the White Ranger. "You...Can... Help...White..."
"Zordon-" A realization struck him. He recalled Andros saying that the Psycho Ranger's could mimick other voices. "So why are you also.?" He asked dressing the White Ranger.
"Because of the Green Psycho Virus I gave him."
Tommy turned back around only to feel a blinding pain and burning sensation from his side. Glancing down he found that the tip of the Green Psycho Dagger had broken off. Opening his mouth to scream it was met with a second sensation of burning pain. The curved blade of Saba was sticking out in front of him through his left side. Collapsing to his knees he could feel the lift force leaving him.
"Oh don't worry Tommy. I only said you won't be who you were. I never said that you would die."
Tommy looked up at the Green Psycho Ranger while he spoke and noticed a green glow coming from both of them. "We are all now one. One Legendary Ranger..."
The green light flowed from the Green Psycho Ranger and White Ranger wrapping around the Green Ranger.
Tommy finally let out a scream but it was from his humanity being consumed by the green fire of the Green Psycho Virus that was taking over his mind, body and soul.
The fire died down and a new Ranger in a merged costume stood in the chard ground around him. "I am now The Shattered Ranger." His gaze lifted towards the heavens. "Now I will merge the others with their counterparts in all the different dimensions."

Nah it just means he was stronger than any other mmpr ranger, cause thats all the precedent there was at that point

I really need to read the Powe Ranger comics. It's everything I wanted in PR growing up, it's more mature and I love how it's aimed at adults who grew up with PR.
imo this story on the comics have a huge potential,.if done properly this can be an awesome animated film or series or video game series

As an original viewer he was the final straw that lead to me stop watching a few episodes after he appeared out of nowhere and was such an emo a-hole. No Tommy or Billy around to balance his unwelcome presence. I can't be the only one who felt that way as a kid.

I love the concept of Lord Drakkon he needs to be referenced in the show or a future movie the character needs to see the likes of Live Action and it would be cool to see Tommy/JDF play the villain again as well as his Normal version trying to use his master morpher to beat him but standing no chance against the combine might of the Green Ranger (Dragon) White Ranger (Tiger) powers leading him to seek aid from multiple rangers maybe just the 6th rangers of each team would make a cool All 6th Ranger special like "Forever Red" Oh I can see it now EPIC.
It would have been cool to see Zordon transfer himself into the White Tiger Ranger in that version of the comic instead of Jason as the situation wa so dire plus he didn't want to risk the MMPRs as they were earth's last line of defence ultimately dying but forcing Drakkon back enough for the rest of the ream to stop him plus lines up with Tommy, Billy taking up those Zordon type roles on other teams if he did die. liked that Cruger, Zordon and Rita teamed up.

This has to be the most darkest power rangers comic series I have ever seen in my life and with battle for the grid video game we still need a film or a tv series
This storyline is absolutely incredible
The only questions I haven’t quite figured out are how are each of the sentries compared to a single user, I assume weaker as the power is divided, and does that apply to the ranger slayer. Or is it like when they all used Tommy’s coin and though they were all using the green power their connection to the grid was still just as strong
Dividing the power coin does make the individual weaker. It's revealed later on that Drakkon did it that way so no one person could overthrow him.
