Check your corners. There are many places the devs can hide containers such as purses, gunbags, and uncommonly, safes from view. The latter may have it's position changed if the POI is respawned by a mission, however. 4. Search, loot, and dismantle anything in a POI BEFORE you start a quest. Salvage cars, salvage nonworking Vending Machines (For easy Forged Iron/steel), Safes (Again, for Forged Steel/Iron), loot the end loot if you can find it, loot the store shelves if they have any, and take notes where the zombies spawn when you start the quest. 5. Do NOT dismantle any containers in a POI AFTER a quest. If the POI is able to respawn naturally, it also replenishes the loot inside. One time loot containers (Such as those turn into backpacks) however, doesn't. Just mind the respawning zombies inside. 6. Be mindful of using the Parkour Perk- while you jump higher, you risk yourself falling from greater heights in the later POIs. Bring wooden frames as a support. 7. Depending on your block damage rate, Shotguns can destroy the scenery with one shot. While it's a good way to destroy enemies, it's bad when it accidentally destroys a container in the process, or worse, destroy the floor. 8. Trees are your enemy. They tend to hide enemies with their leaves. Chop down bushy trees to have a clearer view. 9. In multiplayer, whomever has the best loot level should always open containers. They don't need to talk the item, they just need to open it. 10. Powered Turrets are default set to shoot strangers on sight. If you're playing with friends and one forgets to be allies, they might end up dying from the turret. They will shoot you if you log in as a different steam user on the same computer also. You have to manually set them to shoot zombies only. 11. Zombies only needs the default earth to spawn. If your base is big enough and you are far enough, they may spawn inside your base due to the natural earth. Cover them, or use a power turret to curb spawns. 12. Fight in the later horde nights with multiple covers. Vultures and Fat cops will vomit at you! Demolition Zombies, if shot in the wrong area, will explode and potentially destroy your cover! 13. Be mindful where you start your base on solo- you may end up traveling far to do quests in skyscrapers. 14. Get loaded when the game sends you off for a Skyscraper quest. You are spending the night or two inside there if you're going to clear it. Pack heals, pack ammo, pack food and water, pack wood frames, and if you're playing with friends, pack with friends also. Stay frosty, zombies can be ferals and the more dangerous can spawn also. And more zombies WILL be entering the building, so pack Spike traps to slow them down also. 15. On earlier horde nights, a multiple story POI can be used to defend against the horde, Just be mindful of ladders, vultures, and areas where the horde can "jump" to your location. 16. Build multiple bases. You are going to be switching from time to time if you haven't upgrade your defenses from the Screamer zombies with powered Turrets. 17. Driving offroad in the Wasteland Biome is bad for your vehicle. You will ram blocks, trees, and debris littered around the landscape. You might even run over a car, causing an explosion with the 4x4. You might even get stuck and be an easy meal for a Zombie Bear. 18. Always use a fresh save to test out Mods- whether or not your are adding or removing them. So you don't impact your save and screw yourself over by corrupting your character or the world. 19. Always kill the Screamer zombie when you hear and see her. She is going to attract more zombies when she is heard, and the longer she remains alive. 20. The cop zombie can explode when low on health. Always take it out and make sure it's dead to avoid damage from it's suicide attack. 21. Be aware of the floor. Some POI has trapped floors that gives out and sends mobs of zombies to kill you easily. Some POI have mines that will explode when you trigger them. You can avoid the explosion easier with the infiltrator perk tree.
11 is only necessary if you can't cover your base with your land claim block(to prevent POI spawns) and your sleeping bag radius. With friends it's even easier because you have more
@@MDMDMDMDMDMDMDMDMD This is intended for the Open world spawns, as I walked one part of my base and my turrets randomly shot a zombie that spawned inside the base on open ground during horde night. It's more of a beware since I later patched up the "backyard" of the base with wood frames.
Tip #2 for loot rooms in POIs is not a good idea if you are doing a quest in the same POI - as many enemies are now triggered spawns in many locations; this is especially important in Tier 6 Infection quests (now that A21 is out). Often, building or destroying your way to the loot room will break the triggers, rendering the quest unable to be completed. Not an issue if you aren't doing a quest. Higashi Pharmaceuticals is extremely bad for this. Breaking doors, going through the floor or ceiling, or generally ignoring the path the POI wants you to take is a very easy way to break the quest completely. Big Tip: Most buttons in POIs are currently broken in A21 - T6 quests are especially egregious for this. It will appear as a button attached to a large generator usually - but the button is not powered. Breaking the button or the generator attached to it will make the trigger activate, allowing the zombies to spawn and the quest to be finished. Breaking the door attached to the button does not work. Breaking the blocks/pipe attached to the button, causing it to fall and break also will not work.
4:31 heard in a recent dev update recap that FP planning on having console peeps re-buy the game when it gets updated there. See how that plays out cause yea, I get port was 3rd partied, but still sucks for those who originally purchased on console thinking it get updated.
My favorite underestimated tip is to pick up chairs everywhere u go. Easy wood, iron, and leather u can scrap as they stack that adds up in the long term and gives you a generous amount of resources to have on hand before you even get a forge. Also if you pick them up theyre out of the way so you dont get cornered
Or you can cheese zombies by putting chairs in front of holes in walls and doors so you can stop em coming through for some reason they have trouble hitting them idk why
A little late but there's also a way to get a large amount of paper quickly, but it's in a dangerous POI Crack-A-Book HQ - in the basement near the loot room, there is a machine that looks like a printing press with large white rolls of paper on it. Harvesting it easily gives around 500 paper - you can look for Tier 5 (Or Tier 6 since A21 is out) quests to reset it to farm the paper as well.
Paper....you had one about paper. Paper is found when breaking boxes! you get polymers too when doing that and i usually need that over paper by far. In fact paper is so common WITHOUT breaking down precious valuable money to get dukes which is by far better then paper. paper is literally laying around on the floor from POI's and when they reset so does that little tiny trash clungs that break into it. Paper is so easy to come by that its the first on my what to drop if need room list. I have a general rule of what to keep and what to drop, it seems silly at first but this method I have works if you dropping off stuff at base often enough you dont even really need to mine much. only thing to drop more often for more room in the inventory than paper is GLASS. Paper is stupid silly easy to come by without breaking down ATM cash which is much more valueable as DUKES. I literally cant state this enough, I can get stuck with more paper still dropping it often by just collecting a few poi's of stuff on the ground and ax'ing boxes (especially houses of POI 1-3) and have more then I need to make ammo, plus there are easier ways of getting ammo with questing. (no not buying it but that helps too).
I just started playing, and i noticed if i press E first at a nest to check it's items, don't pick them up, close the window and axe down the nest, i'll get a backpack afterwards with the items that were in it. So i can harvest the nest by axe and also get the items afterwards. Getting double the content. I'm sorry if this is known already, just want to share because i saw someone saying that harvesting the nest is better than picking it up, but we can do both at the same nest.
One you didn't mention here, but I just picked up from following your Desert Ranger series - I had no idea you could plant trees directly in the ground, instead of having them bulge out of farm plots like a WWE wrestler in a vest 3 sizes too small.
Put down a block of dirt or topsoil anywhere in your base with a high enough ceiling, then a tree seed on it. It's funny to see a giant tree growing out of a single floating clump of dirt on top of a wooden base (lol).
Most people know you can smelt dukes for brass, but just like paper money, you can hand-scrap dukes into scrap brass. If you aren't making bullets, scrap brass is a good source of income, but traders only buy multiples of 10, so you may choose to scrap 1 or 2 dukes to sell 10 brass for 5 or 6 dukes
@izprebuilt love your videos, long question: I built a short runway on top of the bunker, it's high. It is a big roof however I got to the maximum support possible just with 1m support beams (as many as I can fit). Is there a way to get a longer support beams (or something to that affect) so i can make it bigger?
It used to show the option to press W to sell, but they removed it entirely a while back, so that wasn't an option at all. Then, they put the option back in the game, but left out the image saying you could do that. Some people noticed, some didn't. For new players, being told is the only way to know.

The vulture spawns on horde night, if you have a base that has good vulture defence is it possible to sit on your vehicle within your base to encourage vulture spawns instead of zombie spawns, or must the game realise you are constantly relocating the horde waypoint before it decides to spam vultures?

Evert time I play a get x hrs in an update comes out and have to start again - do like game but often just gave up having to do the start lvls over and over again lol 😂
So I might be alone in saying this but I personally LOVE the way the console game is only thing I’d update is the graphics and maybe add the traders “jobs”. Looting zombies, crafting system, how the quality works, and skill system is SO much better on the console version. There’s almost no thought to what skill to decide on now, where as the console version you have to decide on spending on 1pt skills, 5 point, 10 points and some are even 30pts so you have to REALLY think about wether or not you want concrete over sexual tyrannosaurs or something. I recently got the PC version and spent a fair bit of resources trying to bump my stone axe up in quality and was so confused lol. So that’s my reasoning, But that’s just me.
I feel like the animal tracker perk is underutilised if you're having food issues in 7 days its like people forget its there and it's perfect for multiplayer.
Multiplayer really is an understated fun way to play the game. Each player will almost always delegate a roll to themselves. My game we have the Heavy that wear heavy armor and swings a sledgehammer while using machine guns. He's there for horde nights and hard POIs. Another buddy is dumping stat points into vendor based perks for the dukes and better quest rewards. I'm the basebuilder and resource gatherer for building and maintaining equipment. Shitload of fun tbh.
I just got through going hunting in A21 with 1 lvl of tracker. I couldn't find any deer so I went with Chickens & Rabbit. Ended up with just over 3 stacks of meat (1.5 hour days).
I play modern zombies ruleset and i liked to use the traps that slow enemies down on enemies instead of my base before I didn't know how to dodge. Sadly i play on console and I don't know if it applies for PC
I've made a gas station into my home base and I've noticed that after horde night there are many walls and floors that are damaged. Is is possible for a building to become weakened enough that it could just fall down, but it's hard to notice? I'm spending quite a bit of cement in repairing all the damage after horde night because I'm worried about losing my base that has come to be my home.
About wrenching: Busses/trucks give their "main loot" when reaching half their hitpoints (1250 of 2500), dismantling them any further is not worth it as you only get very small amounts of stuff.
I don’t enjoy this game like I used to… I just started a new game for the first time in a couple years, on console, and day 1 I had so much! Got really lucky and got a mining helmet within the first ingame hour, and then found 2 pistols, a nearly max level crossbow, a nail gun, chainsaw, mini bike book, etc. and then found a machete for sale from the trader (which is insanely rare in this version) so basically I had the best start to a game ever. And…. I wasn’t having fun. It was exciting to get the items, but then I went to find a base to call home and I was walking around and just didn’t want to play anymore. It’s weird. I used to love playing the game, finding items, hoarding everything, etc. but I just didn’t want to play anymore. And it sucks because I once loved this game. I tried building a log cabin which I’ve always wanted to do in this game, and I got the walls put up and then just stopped. No motivation to keep going or keep playing… I hope eventually I can get back into it.
Love you but I just about had a heart attack when you said "dukes are more common than paper" which, idk seems situational tbh, when you need skill books, you find SOO much paper!
so with the driving thing.. wouldnt you then be able to build like a race track underground and drive loops on hoard night causing vultures to spawn and just fly around above the ground. just a random dumb thought
I do have a question regarding batteries. Does the level of the batteries matter in any way. If not why have a number on them? Btw I just founbd you and your info are awesome.
batteries level has no effect on anything you use them to craft with like a motorcycle BUT they do have more power potential when you put them in a battery bank.
Luckily the Console Update should be out this year since the dude from Fun Pimps said back in November that they have a team thats been working on it for the past 6 months. So May 2022 is when they started, and we could easily see a new Console Version with the Alpha 21 release given that they said in the same interview they want the Console Update out in 2023 AND that they want the Console Version to be updated along with the PC version once released.

I don't even scrap the chairs (if I have space in my inventory), I use them as fuel as they are in my forge!
Or do like I do and build seating outside your house for cheap. Got like 200 chairs out there for when I hold the podraces.

One you didn't mention here, but I just picked up from following your Desert Ranger series - I had no idea you could plant trees directly in the ground, instead of having them bulge out of farm plots like a WWE wrestler in a vest 3 sizes too small.
Put down a block of dirt or topsoil anywhere in your base with a high enough ceiling, then a tree seed on it. It's funny to see a giant tree growing out of a single floating clump of dirt on top of a wooden base (lol).
Most people know you can smelt dukes for brass, but just like paper money, you can hand-scrap dukes into scrap brass. If you aren't making bullets, scrap brass is a good source of income, but traders only buy multiples of 10, so you may choose to scrap 1 or 2 dukes to sell 10 brass for 5 or 6 dukes
@izprebuilt love your videos, long question: I built a short runway on top of the bunker, it's high. It is a big roof however I got to the maximum support possible just with 1m support beams (as many as I can fit). Is there a way to get a longer support beams (or something to that affect) so i can make it bigger?
It used to show the option to press W to sell, but they removed it entirely a while back, so that wasn't an option at all. Then, they put the option back in the game, but left out the image saying you could do that. Some people noticed, some didn't. For new players, being told is the only way to know.

Really need a car or something, I hate having to walk everywhere and stamina is always a problem. I've died about 30 times already, ready to die some more 👍
The vulture spawns on horde night, if you have a base that has good vulture defence is it possible to sit on your vehicle within your base to encourage vulture spawns instead of zombie spawns, or must the game realise you are constantly relocating the horde waypoint before it decides to spam vultures?

One thing, gathering coal from burned blocks, it's not gobs, but it eases the grind. Harvest parking meters for odd bits of dukes.

I play the console version just because I haven’t played it in about 5 years. Now I’m thinking about getting this on the computer
Evert time I play a get x hrs in an update comes out and have to start again - do like game but often just gave up having to do the start lvls over and over again lol 😂
So I might be alone in saying this but I personally LOVE the way the console game is only thing I’d update is the graphics and maybe add the traders “jobs”. Looting zombies, crafting system, how the quality works, and skill system is SO much better on the console version. There’s almost no thought to what skill to decide on now, where as the console version you have to decide on spending on 1pt skills, 5 point, 10 points and some are even 30pts so you have to REALLY think about wether or not you want concrete over sexual tyrannosaurs or something. I recently got the PC version and spent a fair bit of resources trying to bump my stone axe up in quality and was so confused lol. So that’s my reasoning, But that’s just me.

I feel like the animal tracker perk is underutilised if you're having food issues in 7 days its like people forget its there and it's perfect for multiplayer.
Multiplayer really is an understated fun way to play the game. Each player will almost always delegate a roll to themselves. My game we have the Heavy that wear heavy armor and swings a sledgehammer while using machine guns. He's there for horde nights and hard POIs. Another buddy is dumping stat points into vendor based perks for the dukes and better quest rewards. I'm the basebuilder and resource gatherer for building and maintaining equipment. Shitload of fun tbh.
I just got through going hunting in A21 with 1 lvl of tracker. I couldn't find any deer so I went with Chickens & Rabbit. Ended up with just over 3 stacks of meat (1.5 hour days).
Always have an escape route, if you see a hole in the floor the game is directing you towards just build a cheap wooden ladder and have a way out.
I play modern zombies ruleset and i liked to use the traps that slow enemies down on enemies instead of my base before I didn't know how to dodge. Sadly i play on console and I don't know if it applies for PC

I've made a gas station into my home base and I've noticed that after horde night there are many walls and floors that are damaged.
Is is possible for a building to become weakened enough that it could just fall down, but it's hard to notice?
I'm spending quite a bit of cement in repairing all the damage after horde night because I'm worried about losing my base that has come to be my home.

About wrenching: Busses/trucks give their "main loot" when reaching half their hitpoints (1250 of 2500), dismantling them any further is not worth it as you only get very small amounts of stuff.

I don’t enjoy this game like I used to… I just started a new game for the first time in a couple years, on console, and day 1 I had so much! Got really lucky and got a mining helmet within the first ingame hour, and then found 2 pistols, a nearly max level crossbow, a nail gun, chainsaw, mini bike book, etc. and then found a machete for sale from the trader (which is insanely rare in this version) so basically I had the best start to a game ever. And…. I wasn’t having fun. It was exciting to get the items, but then I went to find a base to call home and I was walking around and just didn’t want to play anymore. It’s weird. I used to love playing the game, finding items, hoarding everything, etc. but I just didn’t want to play anymore. And it sucks because I once loved this game. I tried building a log cabin which I’ve always wanted to do in this game, and I got the walls put up and then just stopped. No motivation to keep going or keep playing… I hope eventually I can get back into it.
A lot of basic stuff is the same on the console where I first started playing this game

You can turn literally any object in the game into dukes at the trader.

batteries level has no effect on anything you use them to craft with like a motorcycle BUT they do have more power potential when you put them in a battery bank.

Luckily the Console Update should be out this year since the dude from Fun Pimps said back in November that they have a team thats been working on it for the past 6 months. So May 2022 is when they started, and we could easily see a new Console Version with the Alpha 21 release given that they said in the same interview they want the Console Update out in 2023 AND that they want the Console Version to be updated along with the PC version once released.
Awsome. I'm glad they finally can start working on it again! But people need to be realistic on expectations

you would actually have to check the game files for that. In general you'll just want to compare the 2 items in questions

Actually, if you have a level 5 weapon and find a level 6, check the states. I don't know how many times I've found a level 6 weapon that was much worse than the level 5 I was already carrying.

Tip: Don't fucking run to your quests wearing full scrap armour in the early game.
Take it off and you'll run TWICE as far for the same Stamina cost. You'll also get there faster too.
