It’s rare to find synths and presets that utilize velocity! Which is pretty wild considering how important velocity is for orchestral mock ups and the libraries used for cinematic music! This is really useful and def gonna grab the new preset pack it sounds 🔥🔥🔥🔥

unfucking real - this is a concept that I have been thinking about forever. How so many digital sounds are stagnant and not dynamic like the human voice or a guitar played by a human, even chords played by a person. Amazing!
back in the day this was normal until serum and all modern synths came along and erased that concept from prosucers mind with their sick wubs and basses. people have been doing this for decades even in the 80s
@@gravity00x totally…i noticed this vibe on my juno 60 soft synth, i do like the modern editable synths combined with this its next level
@@gravity00x Those sick wubs and aggressive, alien sound design ideas are important too. I find Phase Plant the most complex and overall best synth right now for versatility by a longshot but I just can't make as polished and complex-sounding aggressive sounds with it even as easily as I could with the OG Massive, before Serum and Massive X even. There's a value to that, too.
But yeah; things like velocity play and key tracking have been around for ages to simulate those traditional instrument capabilities.

I have been rediscovering velocity modulation recently. It really had something about it that other mod types don’t. I guess it is because, a human would nominally trigger it through playing and the emotion would come through with that.

I need to add this into my sound design workflow. I use the Note portion of that section with filtering some sounds. Never messed with the Velocity for some reason.

Bought the pack. Dope pack! I've used this technique on bass and it really changes EVERYTHING! But the bass gets kindof off-balance with too much highs when opening up the filter and it almost feels like it sounds thinner and looses power. Is there a way to properly normalize bass intensity when fucking around with the frequencies? I'd like to keep the same fx but keep my bass power as well.

I ve been using velocity a lot recently, but a tool I never use Is the "note" control near the velocity one. Also, do you ever change the shape to the velocity curve?
I really like the dragging of the velocity setting onto the work area. Is it only Serum that works that way, or are other soft Synths the same?

Really nice trick indeed. Using it sometimes. However, i'm wondering, what envelope shape does the velocity use? Do you control this in the velocity section by adjusting the slope?
