This came into my feed this morning. A morning where I woke up in a panic.
9+ months of war. For months not around my home (I live in central Israel, with the memory of sirens, but at this time, no imminent threat). But never-ending war, death, and suffering very close to where I live. In a situation where I see no end in sight. The conflict is just too complex and intense. I feel so helpless.
It is beyond my ability to stop.
I can only witness with no ability to alter.
    Which hurts.
It feels like meaningless death and suffering.

I am going through a major shift in my belief system and my current focus is to trust life, take risks and be completely ok in the unknown. And Tara appeared on my feed at the right time. The Universe is indeed friendly:)
    Thank you so much Tara.❤

Hehe I hope!!! Namaste 🙏

Kind of off topic but I want to take a second and bow to all the faithful and nameless faceless people who do things for us like making sure Tara's mic is off when she takes a drink of water.
I believe there have been thousands of buddhas among us that we will never know because in seeking no recognition, they received none. May I learn to be a faithful background helper to all. If no one knows my name, face, or good deeds, the good deeds will be all.
I adore the confluence of great thinkers that are reaching out to me and mine through Tara. There are so many. But I have a soft spot for the sound guy (or gal).

do not read the comments - no good will come from it, stay up here in the beauty of Tara's words and respect to you for your inner workings, the more we individually heal the more we heal the collective. Blessings

I must say that I enjoy reading the comments after the video. It's lovely to see the community of people sharing gratitude and wisdom around these teachings. For me, a big part of healing individually is seeing the others on the same path and recognizing that we are not alone. So I would say, it is whatever works for you, but some, including myself, certainly find good from reading the comments. Namaste.

I trust in goodness. What I fear is that good people can let you down, leave you or hurt you. Trusting in goodness is not the same as trust others or oneself to have the capacity to trust in connection.

Thank you for this important comment. There's so much more discernment involved in the issue of trust where people are involved... and I don't think the topic is covered reasonably in this somewhat psychobabbled lecture. I hope Tara (not her assistant) has the courtesy to step down from the Buddha's lap for a moment to give you a truly considered response. Good luck.

The suffering of others is so tremendous compared to my safe life that I feel like I cant handle it, I feel like everything is terrible and even though there are loving people I feel like we are few and made to be preoccupied with random things instead of helping others (meaningless work, life problems, poverty - a VERY common occurence in my country)

I have only love as my heart, but as the son of righteousness we will all benefit when we remove good and evil from our concept container. Only the great one Spirit ( GOD) is real. way way back we partook of the tree having the concepts good and bad and have precipitated confusion and corrupting of the mind ever since. There is only one reality which is all. Conceptual clarity and charm is needed now. Charles

Tara, you say you don't remember how the other women reacted when you disclosed you didnt trust yourself. Don't you think you would have remembered if these women (of this friendly universe) had been there to comfort you, when you were obviously so deeply troubled, instead of leaving you to sob for hours alone? Did that really help you to be ok with the unknown? Sounds like a rationale for a really heartless response from that so-called enlightened, support group. Not friendly and not representative of goodness.

Tara I believe you are a very intelligent and wise person but I have an issue each time you reference "unarmed African Americans" getting "gunned down" in the streets. Are you speaking of the blacks that are killing each other due to gangs, drugs, or whatever criminal act, or are you speaking of the police shooting these men? I believe it's the latter. Are you buying into the media hysteria that the police are going out on to the streets strictly to kill unarmed black men? These men that were shot were not coming from a meditation session. All of them were in the process of committing some sort of crime and a "concerned citizen" likely called the police on them. I hope you use your wisdom to see that the media and politicians are throwing gasoline onto this racial fire further adding to the separation, rottenness and misery of our society. The police do a difficult job and are required to make radical decisions in a matter of seconds, all while being under more mental and physical stress than most people actually know about. I know many police officers and none of them go to work wanting to kill anyone. Now the extremist black community supports the killing of police...and police officers ARE being killed for this reason. Tara please address the issues of separation and how we have forgotten our ONE source. Maybe you can further add to Eckhart Tolle's vision of "awakened doing." I think all of us need to be reminded of this, including the unarmed African Americans. Yes this was a bit of a rant but I think I needed to be said. I stopped your video at the three minute mark to write this.

+umadbro haha... in the early stages of mindfulness, the mind will look to anything to latch onto to distract you from YOUR inner work. i.e. "he/she thinks this or that and they should think another way". or" i can't really look at my own beliefs and mind and choices because other people have it all wrong and i have to set them straight/speak up about this!"
the choice is to do the deeper inquiry about why you are so irritated with something and why it is so titillating to avoid the real inner work by pointing fingers at another.
it's a great opportunity to do your real work... or you can just keep pointing to everyone else around you and pretending you're actually doing the challenging work of your own mind/heart and soul.

    • @ClarissaKelly13

Agree...one of the slippery slopes of healing our nation's many flaws has become the "victimhood" of certain groups. That does nothing to elevate them or help them to heal from within. I played victim to things in my own life long enough to know that blaming outside forces is never the way forward. The media distorts and is ONLY interested in triggering our fight and flight centers, in dividing us, that gets viewers watching mindlessly. Take that rhetoric for what it is, look deeper always. We must not take sides, must not divide. We must empower the disenfranchised from within, show them their strengths, help them to find their own trust and freedom. Each of us must become responsible first to ourselves, then to others as we trust ourselves and can then share our findings. As Freud said (and Eleanor Roosevelt has a similar quote attributed to her) "Most people do not really want freedom, because freedom involves responsibility..."
