  • Freedom from Fear-Based Beliefs (03/18/2015)
This talk looks at how we get imprisoned in fear based, limiting beliefs. We then explore key meditative steps that help release these veils and reveal the fullness and goodness of our essential being.
From the talk: "My prayer to god every day is ‘Remove the veils so I might see what is really happening here and not be intoxicated by my stories and my fears.’" - Elizabeth Lesser

I'm so glad I have found you!
I've been going through healing processes for the past few years. The timing is perfect tho take me to the next step.
What would it look like if I had no shame? Who would I be if I didn't believe this fear based belief?
What a great way to continue my life!!

I'm more than willing to have my mind changed. I am crippled by self-doubt. I second-guess myself constantly and question decisions I've taken. It's agony.

I hope you will soon discover it is not you who is crippled by self-doubt. Self-doubt is present, but it isn't you, the same way your stomach growls sometimes but isn't you. Once you truly experientially see that, thoughts lose their power. I really wish it for you!

27:22 not feeling ok is part of our development. To be witness of those beliefs and not buying into them. We've got to question our limiting beliefs.
37:20: how to master anxiety. Ask yourself: Is that belief true? Who are you, when you're not caught in that belief? (cf The Work of Byron Katie)

To see if the button works? Yin and Yang must both exist: without the thumbs down option, there is no thumbs up option. If nobody uses the thumbs down option, then there is no thumbs up option.
PS: don't take me too seriously... don't think too hard

I have been watching your talks for about a year now. I love them so I want to begin by saying thank you. I have been meditating and trying to source the pain in my body. I usually feel it in my heart. Sometimes my stomach. I'd love to know what that means. Secondly, feeling these things sometimes causes panic attacks. What should I do about that? Any suggestions you could give would be deeply appreciated. Thank you again.

Sometimes meditation makes anxiety worse since you’re so focused on the anxious feelings, and it’s better to focus on living a full and rich life instead of letting anxiety get in the way. Once the anxiety/panic condition dissolves, then meditation becomes much more productive (and good for you) again.

I have social anxiety disorder & anxiety comes natural. I didnt chose to have it. I didnt learn it. All i remember is having it since I was a child but i was "mute" as a kid (selective mutism) & extremely shy & anxious around people. Its not that I didnt think if they'd like me or not, its just an automatic feeling I get & i freeze whenever i feel someone looking at me as if they can see & read right through me. As if they're staring at my every move. Is it fear? Of what? I feel it more like im just naturally excessively shy. Why isnt meditation & other speakers or monks talking about disorders such as mine? Its not like we can easily shake it off. Like i said before, it comes naturally.

Look up family systems theory. are there family secrets in your family? are you carrying that burden?

    • @benshaw255
      @benshaw255 8 лет назад +8

It doesn't come naturally, you've been tricked by the medical model. Your nervous system has learnt to respond to anxiety. I'm sure you also have a lot more limiting beliefs contributing to it. Anxiety is curable, I recovered and you can too :)

      Hope you are doing better.
Freeze is a state of a triggered nervous system. That is a natural threat response, but when ongoing activation occurs apart from real threat...it is not natural.
It is a conditioned way of being. Figuring out your attachment style, healing core wounds, addressing limiting beliefs, reprogramming the subconscious (which is where the majority of our behavior comes from), will help greatly. Shy is very different from anxious.
I hope you heal and find empowered peace💫
