I got disqualified and needed 3 waivers for asthma,adhd, and kidney stones and got them approved after 7 months. Don’t give up if you get disqualified… just stay focused and motivated on the next step to get your waiver/s approved!!!
How did you get the kidney stone waiver? Did you have to be cleared by a urologist? Because I got disqualified last year around June due to me having a kidney stone. I still need to be cleared, but I'm close to ending the process. How was your process like? Thank you.
@@emiliotrejo2246 so for me personally I had to go get a renal function labs done along with a renal ultrasound as they specifically requested those things. If you have state or good insurance it’s not very difficult to do I got it done within the same day and you just ask your doctor to put an order for the test to be done. Hopefully this helps a little bit
What all was your process for asthma? I failed a pft and have to go for methacholine test
@@project3003 first of all them you weren’t feeling good and that you had a cold and not asthma lol… and the test should just be a pulmonary functions test where you literally just blow in to a tube as hard as you can it’s really easy!!!
@@emiliotrejo2246 so basically you just have to get a ultrasound of your kidneys and bladder… and then also a renal functions panel lab test done … they sound hard to obtain but it’s actually pretty easy and straight forward just ask your doctor to order those test in specific and print the results and submit them for a waiver!!!!
I started my recruiting process for the airforce in July 2022. I took the ASVAB in September 2022. Ended up needing a financial waiver due to the setback I was placed into due to covid. My financial waiver got approved in November 2022. Next was MEPS. That didn’t happen until late December 2022. I passed all the tests MEPS threw at me, just to get disqualified when the doctor pulled up my medical records. He said I’ve been disqualified for an “unspecified” asthma medication given to me in 2020. I personally don’t recall ever taking an inhaler around that time, but I do remember possibly using one in 2015. Anyways, I went back to my liaison’s office to get the SG medical waiver process started (December 22). Since then, I haven’t heard from my recruiter. I’m officially homeless after my apartment lease ended and I’ve run out of options now. I have a job and a car, but I’m also a college student. I chose the military as a way out of becoming homeless so I can focus on my education and pursue stable financial freedom. Now I’m out of options. Are there other options for ineligible recruits to survive in this overpriced capitalist country??
Go to another recruiter. Try army theres alot of waviers. They will really help you.

So if we get a recommendation letter from a citizen doctor like saying this person had a seizure in the past and he’s been having em since he was little but he’s been doing good and he has no more seizures and I’m a son of a former DEA agent and so would MEPS be able to accept a recommendation letter from a citizen doctor and I got no Ashmia no heat condition and so would that be okay to do for a medical waiver with you guys since your NAVY and so if I do a medical waiver with you guys would I be able to do that with you guys if I bring a recommendation letter from my doctor 👩⚕️ from like my neuroscience doctor 👨⚕️ saying that oh I am this persons doctor and I did his test and he’s been doing well working out and he has no more seizures and so he’s all clear to join and I wanna do Special Operation/Special Warfare (SEALS) and I workout everyday so would that be okay because I’m trying to get fully cleared so that way I don’t have anymore seizures so would that be okay just bring a doctors note to get the Medical Waiver plus again I’m a son of a former DEA Agent and I want to get all cleared up before I join the NAVY so would that be possible if I can get like a medical waiver when going to MEPS ?
Try corrections (state prison). Some states don't check your physical health.
Based on you poor writing skills, and repetitive questions, you will not pass the ASVAB (written test). Did you attend school? Do you understand sentence and paragraph structure? Have you ever read a book? You need to write using sentences and capitalization. You are not SEAL material. Try something else.@@kahoaliiaiu7130

So basically what I’m getting from this and the length of time I’ve been in the recruiting process now for the army, unless you grew up in a pure oxygenated silicone bubble your whole life, you disqualify from the military without a waiver.

I got disqualified for the National guard, I was sad and then a year later, I tried again but for active duty. It took 2 years and a waiver but I eventually made it in the military. 6 years strong in the Army so my advice is to keep pushing. The only thing is when I joined we didn't have this MHS geneses thing yall talking about

GET RID OF GENESIS!!! If you truly want to understand if the individuals are capable of handling military hardship/stress. Do it on an interview and judge that person on WHO THEY ARE NOW NOT on who they were at the low points!!!!!
Military recruiting is on crisis mode now. I heard the dod is reviewing asthma and adhd and many more disqualifying factors to soften up standards. I wish the dod got rid of Genesis because as someone who is involved with recruiting Genesis is the top two issues hindering recruiting. We are almost done with the fiscal year and the army is only at 23 percent.
Since working at MEPS; HAIMS and Genesis really has me thinking. Instead of these high recruiting targets we (Pentagon) should take another look at realistic numbers of applicants that are mentally and physical fit for service instead of what now looks like was inflated numbers prior to these new systems.
This is my opinion. DoD should either remove Genesis from MEPS, or just loosen up on medical standards. Like a person with IBD in remission could be eligible to join
@@logger22 Congress is finally confronting the military generals and admirals on all branches about mhs genesis they called it Mhs exodus. I am glad congress is finally becoming aware of it. Genesis needs to be removed from meps.
I was told they won't ever loosen standards on ADHD among other conditions.
@@owensmatt And who’s going to maintain the US military if we lower the number of recruits. Your idea would work in theory, but then a lot of jobs would have to fall onto the servicemen that are already in, stretching them essentially. The real solution is for MEPS to stop making a mountain out of an anthill. Minor asthma that resulted in one hospitalization and 1 attack after age 13 should not even be a disqualifying factor. Drug use in the past of otherwise clean persons now shouldn’t be disqualifying either. Don’t push lots of jobs on people currently in the service, recruit people who have otherwise no issues, you’re not repeating project 100,000 by simply slightly lowering standards.
I got temporarily disqualified in the Air Force because during Covid I would get nose bleeds every once in a while and it was because a vein popped inside my nose. Went to the doctors, they sealed up the vein in 10 min and that was that. Came into MEPS yesterday, passed the ASVAB with a 60, passed all my stuff and got perfect vision and hearing, peed in a cup and got my blood drawn. The last thing I needed to be clear was the interview with the doctor and the physical. The doctor I got was such an old, supper moody lady that didn’t even know how to use a computer. She literally looked through all my records ever since I was born till the present day, I was js sitting inside the doctors room for two hours and she started asking me questions about my nose bleeds. I js said that a vein popped but the doctors sealed it back together and I haven’t had any problems since. She js ignored what I said, kept looking through stuff, then she got mad at me because in a form I signed with my recruiter, I said I have no blood diseases which I don’t😭 and she was hella tripping saying that I need to put that I had nose bleeds and say yes to that. She gave me a 0 for the medical history part and that’s the only part I did not pass and now I’m temporarily disqualified for a nose bleed. And the thing that got me soooo mad, was a question she asked. She literally said this, “so why did you go to the hospital on December 8th, 2010?” Like bru I was 5 years old I got so mad inside like idfk😭 I’ve never had any surgeries, never had any diseases, never had any health problems and you can still get temporary disqualified over a nose bleed that happened over 2 years ago. Now I need to wait what my recruiter says now and hopefully everything works out, if not frick the military.
MEPs and covid took 2 years off my military career, before I joined the Army I attempted the airforce. I had a MSGT in the airforce who was somehow still a recruiter put down that I had surgery to repair a ruptured eardrum as a child when I only had tubes in my ears, which isn't even a waiver as far as I'm tracking. On top of that, I had an ACL repair as a teenager and I was honest about my serious bout with back pain during my time as a powerlifter. Though I had a high ASVAB, could max a PT test, and was motivated so I didn't feel the need to lie, additionally at the time, I was a naive kid who had moral qualms about lying. Covid slowed everything down big time, so it took a lot of time to enlist.
So my advice now as an SPC be honest but tell as little as you can get away with, and if there is no proof of you suffering from a condition than did it really even happen?

Joining the military was a childhood dream of mine. However I struggled with taking the asvab and failed the test 2 or 3 times when I was 18. Tried again at 23 and passed
However when I went to take my physical the next day the doctor temporarily disqualified me for having a concave chest aka Pectus excavatum and because I have a tiny unrelated scar he wanted to pull my entire medical records from birth
Which has "asthma" and crohn's (I actually don't have asthma but I do have crohn's. (I could elaborate but I think the story is already long enough.
Anyway because those two things are listed in my medical I struggled finding a recruiter to help me. They kept giving me the run around telling me to make appointments (which I did) over and over until I decided to move on and pursue something else. 😪

I would be honest if the dod allows people with asthma or anything like that attend the boot camp with chill standards then the recruitments will rise high af
Got disqualified from the Corps due to left ear hearing loss(65). I was told to get a test from a regular doctor and it pretty much came out the same. They told me the doc had to be in my favor to serve but idk what doc would pass me..
Currently waiting on my waiver from the Air Force for an OCD/Anxiety diagnosis with a few medications for it from age 9 to about 16. 25 now with a wife and two kids, it was submitted last week and my recruiter said we can expect to hear back next Friday. Aside from that there's nothing major or recent in my medical record and I submitted a very detailed statement, my medical and pharmacy records documenting the condition, and a letter from my employer stating I do not have any work accommodations. I'm really hoping that being off medications and symptom free for almost ten years helps get me that waiver because my wife and I are so excited and set on the Air Force and most of my family have been in the branch. I honestly think it was a misdiagnosis as my parents got trigger happy with the tricare at a young age. My recruiter is in good hopes so keeping my fingers crossed.

@@fishofry my recruiter tells me they have authorized me to process with a DQ. So I’m going to MEPS next week to have my physical and then we’ll schedule a consultation in regards to my medical. Moving on forward and not out of the game yet, so good news and I’m glad to be making it to MEPS finally.
@@wte_lifts_417I really wanted to join the Air Force but I just recently got disqualified because I had an IEP throughout school due to ADHD and auditory processing disorder. I also got disqualified because of insomnia. My recruiter had me pick up a bunch of medical documents so he could give it to MEPS and they denied it and he called me saying that I’ll be disqualified. I was really upset about it. He did say that he recommends that I maybe try joining another branch he suggested maybe talking to the Navy. I’m still thinking about talking to a Navy recruiter but I’m not really that interested in joining the Navy.
@@redengine6382 sorry to hear that man. I became buddies with my roommate at MEPS just for him to get medically disqualified too unfortunately. To update my situation: everything went good at MEPS. To my surprise the only thing Genesis really caught was my OCD/anxiety history. Passed everything else and went through the waiver process for the mental health history. Currently waiting on dates from MEPS for my consultation which should be the last step before acquiring the golden ticket (medical waiver).
Had to get a blood pressure waiver due to 3 high readings at MEPs which was a case of nervousness for me.
I got two good readings, (One being close to not passing) But nontheless should be passing, and just sent that waiver to MEPs yesterday, and was told I'll get an answer by Tuesday next week.
Although my case is SUPER easy, I'm still nervous about the possibility of not qualifying due to stupid little things like that.
Shouldn't be an issue, but take it from my experience, MEPs will try anything to not get you through.

Nah man everything worked out. I went back to MEPS, they didn't even check it again, and off to bootcamp I went and graduated July this year. Was in the Navy 8+ months before I got out due to failure to adjust due to mental health. But at least I can say I did it and got the experience of graduating bootcamp. They gave me a waiver also, it took some time, but finally I was accepted.

Heading to recruiter tomorrow and filling out mhs paperwork - I'm 18 and graduating this year....about 9 months agoi, I was diagnosed with minor celiacs; I've never taken meds for it, never done anything but go to the doc for a checkup (twice) - should I even bother disclosing to my recruiter? There's always a possibility now with Genesis that all medical related issues can pop up whether you disclose them or not. If you do, just have as much documentation that will most likely be asked. Secondly, a lot of services have been waiving a lot of DQ conditions recently. However you go about it, Good Luck and don't give up!
So i plan on joining either US Navy or US Air force. However, i got a few things on my medical record that may disqualify me. A few doctors were say bipolar and a few others said schizophrenia. However, none of these are correct diagnosis. Its because i smoked weed from time to time and i had a allergic reaction if you will. Its been 11 years since i smoked weed. My psychologist and family doctor claims those are inaccurate as well. Crossing my fingers that I'll be able to join in the next 9 months. 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽

I was diagnosed with anxiety & depression back in 2020, i was on medication less than 9 years, I am also in therapy & had a laparoscopy for an ovarian cyst bc of my endometriosis. I haven’t been on meds in about 20 months (min said atleast off 24 months), still doing therapy but did a break of 6 months came back recently.
I am also a military brat & spouse so all my care is through tricare, I know all of this needs to be waivered but what are the chances of me even getting in😅

You honestly do have a lot going on that would need to be reviewed. Luckily, you have treatment and medication and sounds like you have a good recovery from the treatments. All of if being answered on your prescreen would takes the providers some time to review and may ask for some additional documents (for you to provide) but ultimately depending on the specific service you are processing for it will up to their waiver authorities to determine what they are willing to waive. The main issue, depending on treatment documents from the anxiety and depression vs fit for military duty. Good Luck & give it a try!
I am diagnosed with generalized anxiety with a Zoloft prescription (a normal 50mg) that I have been taking for a few weeks now. I know I wouldn't qualify, but would it be likely to get a waiver passed? I really want to serve! It would just be for air traffic control, so I'm not sure if that's considered active duty or not
I was disqualified back in August after the doctor reviewed my medical records and discovered that I had failed to report certain things. You have no idea how stressed and upset I was when I was disqualified; it had always been my dream to join the Marines, and they had turned me down. I became anxious a few weeks later and began applying to colleges; so far, I've been accepted to some very well academically ranked schools, and I'm still hoping to enlist in the end. But if not, I guess I'll just have to go to college 😞

My son passed his hearing test at MEPS but failed at boot camp. He’s currently waiting to get processed out of the marines. Is there anything he do to get a medical waiver for hearing loss? I’m not sure by how much he failed it but he has mild-moderate hearing loss
I got disqualified after my waiver wasn't approved but just for 6 months after the 6 months is up I can file an appeal
I’m 7k down the hole trying getting medical treatment for my keratoconus and they still didn’t approve my waiver

What about a right-side vericocele? It was 10 years ago and I've had no pain associated with it and it's not even that noticeable or anything. Actually forgot about it. The doctor at the time said it was nothing to worry about, and I haven't worried until I saw its a DQ if it's on the right side. Honestly considering if I should just go ahead and get surgery to remove it before even attempting to enlist and risking a PDQ.
You can go ahead and get you medical physical knocked out; during the physical the providers will check for hernias or varicoceles or any DQ factors. If they see this is currently noticeable they're most likely request a consult for you.
Please reply back. I overdosed a couple years ago. I told my my recruiter, he asked for the hospital i accidentally gave him the wrong one. Just recently i got the medical records back before i can give it to him he said what they cant find they dont know. They couldnt find it because i gave him the wrong hospital. Its findable with the right hospital. Will genesis be able to see it? And do i tell meps i dont know what to do
My son enrolled to the marines he did the ASVAB he got a high Score he got all his medical waiver he never go to MEPS for physical but he still disqualified why they told him he can try next year
It can be dependent on the service and the condition of what was disqualifying for him after they reviewed his prescreen. More information would be needed as to the reasoning but his recruiter should have the exact reasoning and regulation of why he has to wait. (most conditions are max of 6 months wait so he should find out more of why)

My Army recruiter told me to lie (bend the truth) at MEPS 2 years ago, I finally went to MEPS last year and shit hit the fan when I told them that my recruiter told me to say that I broke my leg by a 4 wheeler accident and that I fixed myself up. I got PDQed from the army because of it (the bent truth not the accident). I did a written statement on it. Does this mean I cannot attempt to join another branch or is it for the Army?
when MEPS sees something from the past that may be disqualifying, and they get all the records for it and a clearance letter and applicant statement, could MEPS decide that they are clear and don’t need a waiver for that condition?

Man I really want USMC OCS. Ive been on Zoloft for almost a year, Im weaning off but I really dont wanna wait the 3 years. I'll be 28 by then and I'll need even more waivers
Dude I’m literally in the exact same situation like down to the age. I’m trying to do army ocs, also weening off Zoloft. The waiting is the worst part
@@JAS-rw5lq good luck to you. Hopefully the waiver gods are in your favor. I interviewed with an OSA and she said the most common disqualifying factors are anxiety/adhd meds. I hope the Military in general eases up some of those expectations, I want to serve and grow as a man and an American
When I was super overweight (280lbs), I got high blood pressure, gout, and even sleep apnea. I decided to lose weight and all those symptoms are gone. I no longer take meds for bp and gout. All is normal. I have returned the CPAP three years ago and been sleeping without it ever since.
I currently weigh 204lbs. I am applying to be a chaplain in the Army guard via direct commission. I just completed the dodmerb physical and now waiting for the feedback.
Did you sleep apnea come up on your medical record, at meps ?

I got DQ'd yesterday because I voluntarily went to a hospital to speak to a counselor (was only there two hours). She put that she "thinks i may have undiagnosed ADHD, anxiety, and/or cluster B". It was not an official diagnosis and I never took any medication but they still DQd me. After I provide the documents they want, how likely do you think it is that ill be approved? Air Force, if that matters.

I see waivers on the daily. Our MEPS is on the smaller side of processing but it's not abnormal to see a handful per day

I got DQ for depression and anxiety meds, it has been over two and half years since i was briefly on them last. My recruiter didnt want to try for a wavier at first but now said he will after i retake the asvab on the 8th. (I qualified but he wants higher numbers). Any tips or suggestions to increase approval of my wavier? The meds were only bc i was going through a nasty divorce
The waiver approval is depending on the condition, the severity and duration, the amount of detail you provide, and the doctor that reviews the waiver request. If you ASVAB score is good enough for the job you're interested in it's highly advised to stay with your score because once you retake the test, whatever your most recent score is will be score you are stuck with.
I am looking to getting into the air force . Currently have gout that is controlled with medication, and haven't had a serious gout attack in a couple years. Any luck with getting a wavier for this condition?
Possibly. Gout isn't a condition I've seen come across actually. I believe it would ultimately be up to the service after reviewing to what extent the condition was and currently is.
What about spinal fusion? Can I get in with that?
How about Neurofibromatosis ( nf1 ) I was diagnosed when I was 2, now I'm 24. I haven't taken any medication for over 10 years. I got over a 3.0 in HS and over a 3.0 in a trade school for railroading. I show no signs of it too
This would need to be submitted for service review but with a condition that has the chance of tumors; mentally be prepared for waiver submission and additional documents provided. The more the better and the more recent the better.

Tuesday I had a phytch consult at meps and the psychologist diagnosed me with anxiety and adaptive disorder which I don't have and she stated in the evaluation deception and immaturity and now I'm disqualifyed and need to get a waiver and now have to get a psych evaluation done by a psychologist outside of meps how are my chances of still joining because I never took any medication or was diagnosed with anything previously and don't have anything else disqualifying me any advice ?
We see this pretty often. The psychologist you saw sees high volumes of individuals ranging from active duty, civilians, and applicants. They have to paint a picture in the thought of how you answer the questions and how it will affect you and the service long term. We are seeing alot of waivers for psych so it is ultimately up to the service at the end of the day.
I got tdq in meps for vision and slight heart murmur and it's been almost 2 and I'm still waiting for consult date, I just know i dont have heart murmur.
If you have a provider that can do the consult and provide the information needed; you don't have to wait for MEPS to schedule.
i failed both right eye due to a astigmatism and my right ear due to a lil hearing loss for the marines ...how will my waivers work or what will happen with the astigmatism?
The marines or a service would need to accept/ waive your astigmatism and hearing loss conditions (which I have seen get waived)
Are there waivers for chronic prostatitis?
I got misdiagnosed a condition and I had tried two different branches and they still say permanent DQ I have all my documents saying that I don’t have that condition but still nothing trying the army next week wish me luck 😭

I was born with a cleft lip and palate. I have had over 10 surgeries since I was born. Last one was over 10 years. Would I have to bring documentation for something like this? Or would all this be on the genesis computer? It's very hard to track down documents from the 90s. I'm totally fine everything went perfect but I do have some scars and just want to know if I would have to get documentation for all these surgeries or not. Thank you!
I'm sure some of the records of your journey with facial surgery would be gathered with MHS Genesis. The providers would ask for as much as you can provide; during your interview and physical portion they would be able to get a better decision if it falls under a special DQ condition besides just "prior surgeries".

I was DQ from the marines for not talking about an shoulder dislocation from 13 only happened one time my dream to be a devil dog n I’m still tryna fight this
I was DQ for shoulder dislocation and shoulder surgery. Keep providing the documents and it should get a waiver by one of the services; if marines aren't accepted you, try another branch by just visiting a recruiter and letting them know you've already completed your medical physical and you're currently in a DQ status. They should attempt to submit a waiver request for you

I got hard disqualified from the coast guard due to a misdiagnosis of psoriasis I cried but level heads pull through, as I got the information from the liason I just walked into the army’s office and told them what happened. And followed up with I don’t believe I have this condition backed it up with medical documents and now I’m about to ship next week to ft. Benning
Exactly. There's many of factors that go into a service waiving conditions at that specific time and normally conditions that doesn't hinder the individual or branch of service in the short or long term will get accepted to one of the branches.

I am attempting to join the Air Force but I am scared of going to MEPS due to having a friend pass away around 6 months back and going to the primary care doctor for general therapy. They said I most likely had a less severe version of “depression,” however I have NEVER shown any depressive episode or have never self harmed. All of this was due to having a best friend pass away.
I am wanting to join the Air Force but not sure if a waiver is even possible.

If I went to MEPS and did the physical and swore in the same day, can I get disqualified before I ship even though the MEPS doctor said everything looks good and I passed?
If no changes medically occur between the time your swore in and the day you shipped out you would be good to go still on the day you ship out.
I have astigmatism and they put me as a waiver, I went through all the process and swore in at meps and became a poolee, so it means my waiver get approved or i still have to wait, because they already gave me the ship date
That means your waiver should be approved. Typically you get a ship date when they've guaranteed your job/contract. If they didn't get it approved they wouldn't have continued you through the process. Good Luck!

typically it could fall under chronic obstruction; it would be up to the service with most updated documents you can provide showing it's now mild and resolving.

You wouldn't have to complete another physical until your current one expires (2 years). You can wait it out and ask them to resubmit later on, or switch services you're trying to process for. Depending on what the condition was disqualified you may be able to get an updated note from a doctor and/or specialty and the service could send up a more recent visit of that condition and the status.

I haven’t been to MEPS yet but can someone tell me if seeing a therapist will disqualify me I haven’t gotten diagnosed with anything nor have I been on medication either ?
Not until you are diagnosed or prescribed, although each case can be different depending on what is in the records from the therapist
My meps doctor disqualified me for having a surgery I had 8 years ago on my ankle I had a small screw way deep in my ankle from me playing sports in high school and running all the time I never had a problem with my right ankle no pain nothing and now I’m waiting on a wavier I even went to my doctor and he said you have no limitations you can run and do anything it was just a simple fixs really.

There is a waiting period i believe which is within 6 months* and with normal lab range provided. Typically the service waiver authority will give the exact details that they want for individuals with anemia conditions. This way it shows if this condition is changing over time or the reason for the abnormal levels.

Not always, but recently all services have been giving more waivers than they have in the past.
Right now it seems that way. I talked to my recruiter last Monday, went to MEPs two days later, and just need a waiver for my blood pressure which will take only a week to go through and might swear in by the end of next week, and hopefully ship out before May. All-In-All, only 1 month of processing including a waiver is pretty insane.

Genesis will pull up a pharmacy record and that may or may not show up on there. Be prepared for that to possibly show up and they may ask additional documentation and questions on if you still use your inhaler and/or when you were last prescribed it.
If you forgot to mention a condition on your pre screen and genesis finds it on your records, can you be automatically disqualified for not mentioning it? Thank you
This happens all the time. If something minor is found the docs will typically ask about it during the medical physical when you are physical there.
Hello..I’m just so afraid and scared that I’ll be disqualified from the marine corps.. and I’m going this week coming up 1st: I have suicidal thoughts before and I have cuts on my forearm/arm they’re not noticeable unless you come up close and I’m just afraid they will say something at meps and I don’t have no suicidal things on my record I think,and I told my recruiter about that and he said just to keep my mouth shut about it

If Genesis pulls your pharmacy records and the inhaler shows; providers will most likely ask for documents/ explanation.

You can. Pick you service that is your first choice and be sure to disclose that on your prescreen. They may waive it after you provide an updated PFT consult or you may have to process through another service but asthma and albuterol will show on Genesis and they will decide base on certain criteria

Im trying to re-enlist, im prior service Army National Guard. I went to meps the other day and MH genesis pulled that i talked my primary care provider about some anxiety. She deemed it was caused by caffeine and wrote me a note clearing me for service and they still denied me. 😢

It's definitely case by case on what the DQ factor is; typically the Army has allowed more to be accepted and waived. Each branch has different doctors that review each waiver that is submitted outside of MEPS and it's ultimately up to them.
I had went to meps in august was planning on joint the navy as a Forman I scored a 95 on asvab and passed all the medical except for the vision portion I tried to get a waver with the navy but was denied and now I am waiting to see if I can qualify for the air force hopefully I can get the vision waver passed

At Meps, what exactly is being looked for in the blood test? As well as in the drug urine test? Would a topical steriod cream appear in the lab work results? Is it a DQ? I used a cream for a rash a few weeks ago. I'm worried as to how long that stays in your system.
Blood test at MEPS is only for HIV. Urine test is a broad spectrum for marijuana, cocaine, amphetamines, methamphetamine, and synthetics. We have also seen some CBD products pop positive. Your traditional topical steroids do not normally cause any issue with the drug screening unless a large amount continuously was being applied.

It's very common for people to take the ASVAB multiple times. continue taking practice test and study up on the math and english section

They are considered DQ factors; more information would be needed for the service to review for a possible waiver (which would be submitted after your physical).
i know this sounds stupid but i go to MEPS on Thursday and I have some scratches from my cat on my legs. Will they find it suspicious or anything? Should I postpone until they are completely gone?
As long as the scratches are not fresh open wounds you should be fine to process. Providers can typically noticed the difference in self harm and secondary scratches
Today my waiver for the Marine Corps was denied. I dislocated my shoulder a couple years ago. I saw he a doctor who said there were no problems and that I am full cleared for military duties. The meps doctor also said there was no problem. I’ve been playing contact football and there have been no problems. The meps doctor said I would be fine and that he’s seen people with much worse get approved. Is there anyway to appeal it?
Once a service denies the waivers for a condition it's typically a permanent mark. There have been times the service gets it reviewed again by another provider (at service waiver authority level). If this happens i would do as much and submit as much documents to prove there's no injury or prevention to military service. Another service branch may also be your better choice.

If the diagnose still shows in Genesis as a current condition then yes. If it was cleared and/or misdiagnosed you should be ready to provide the documents showing you were cleared.

If you were diagnosed and documented type 2, it would be a DQ at the MEPS level. Typically the service would review it an may even request additional documentation/ updated labs before final reiew.
What happens if MEPS says you have asthma and you have letters from your PCP who has been your doctor since birth says no issue with asthma. Medical prescription showing prescribed in 2005 and 2009. Then the next in 2021 for a sinus infection with no wheezing doctor prescribed as if needed and the medical records reflect. Is there anyway to get additional notes or test to prove he does not have asthma? They are applying for a wavier but clearly they are not taking the doctor word on this case any suggestion?
This is typical. Normally the service will request a pre/post bronchodilator test to be preformed and reviewed.
I used one time Asthma medicine. And meps asked me to check doctors notes and pulmonary function test. You can try to get PFT

What questions does the pre screen asks
You should look at other branches to process through. Typically even during prescreen if you have a DQ criteria they will still push to process you for a medical physical and afterwards look for the specific service to waive the condition. I would lean more towards they gave up on your pre screen packet a little too early before even trying to floor you through MEPS for a physical.

History of eczema is a disqualifying conditioning, but i have seen waivers for it. That's actually a pretty common condition to see waived.

Those conditions will be very challenging to get a waiver for; completing your exam should not be an issue so get with a recruiter/ branch that will process you. Be ready for either additional documentation and/or further evaluations and/or consults that might be required for them to see if you are physically and mental qualified for military service.

After five years you could reapply, depending on the severity of your allergies; maybe an updated allergist visit to see if you are still highly allergic, if not try resubmitting additional documents to be reviewed

Luckily, with recent changes providers don't quite put all the years before 13th birthday into the picture. You should be good with processing. They might request a consult to see your current status with a bronchodilator, but you should be good if no other conditions. Good luck

It's considered a previous operation so the documentation would need to be reviewed for it BUT it doesn't automatically DQ you.

This is actually more common than you think; a wavier would needed to be obtain after your medical physical, which you service would request and process that for you.

I enlisted in the Navy 2 years ago and 2 weeks before basic training I lost 30lbs in 14 days and was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis. After a whole year of showing improvement and not having a flare up episode and even getting a 2nd opinion from a separate G.I. doctor in which he also concluded I had Ulcerative Colitis both G.I. doctors wrote clearance letters stating I was fit for military service. My recruiter submitted all of my medical records and clearance letters and I was still deemed disqualified. In your opinion can I still attempt or should I attempt to enlist again. Two years ago I signed my contract and took my oath of enlistment and still live up to what I swore to do. Just requesting information. Thank you.
If joining is still something you're interested in, keep on trying. ALOT has changed in the last year on processing that could possibly help your clearance on getting in.

I'm soon going to Meps. and i when I was 6 I was diagnosed with hypoglycemia. Something which I was able to control with exercise and eating properly throughout the next few years, I'm 19 now and have shown no symptoms for over 12 years. Neither was i prescribed anything for it, Should I be worried? I would really appreciate it if anyone who has experienced something similar to this could clarify it.

I go to MEPS in a couple of days I have a BB gun pellet in my left hand and it’s been there for 6 years and the doc at the time told me it would be best to keep it in because surgery would be complicated.

If you have zero documentation of this it's possible to not bring attention to since there is no physical proof it is still there. If there is 100% chance of it being there, documented, and visual to see; it is considered a "foreign body" which could be categorized as a DQ

Should be high but that's all dependent on the actual service at the time the waiver is submitted.

There could be waiver for that. That falls under psych and would possibly require an updated consult to evaluate if service life would be a fit.
