- Hey y’all! Welcome to my first ever video on my channel. My name is Tiffany Marie, I’m a Future Soldier who has just enlisted into the Army a few weeks ago! I leave for basic training on May 1st from Texas so I just wanted to share how MEPS went for me and everything that happened there. I hope y’all enjoy this video and good luck on your enlistment process!
P.S. do not mind my untreated eyebrows and my chapped lips. The background is also very loud because it was hot as hell in my car. Also, the quality is kind of eh due to the exporting of the video so sorry about that!

I been super nervous and anxious about all of this , I tried the marines but I got rejected because of my background , I went to the army and they have been super supportive and helping me through all of what the marines didn’t want to help with. Same day I spoke to the army recruiter, he had me take a practice asvab , I passed and now I go to meps on Tuesday for my physical. Still anxious and nervous but this video made me feel a lot better , thank you for explaining everything! Thank you for the help!

@@marcelouscrosby7550 yeah , the marines have a higher standard I guess , and the army’s been short on there number of new recruits so I guess they need the bodies, but ya the army accepted me , I got to meps in 2 days

Trying for the marines but having trouble with ASVAB. Scored a 52 on PiCAT but it ended up expiring so I had to take the actually ASVAB and blew it.
I studied the weekend before I took mine and just didn’t overthink anything. Just basic math and paragraph comprehension tbh! It’s simple but it’s tricky as well.

I've been to MEPs in Albany New York back on 2013. Now prior service going to San Antonio Texas MEPs in Wednesday taking the shuttle, I hope it's more laid back 🙃
Hey, when you went to MEPs was the lady who administered the exercises and older black lady?? Like 50-70s age??
How was your experience with the MHS Genesis part of your process?
Mhs Genesis is a disaster it’s the absolute worst
@Rachel Banales I’m worried that they will bring something up that will be an issue when I go to MEPS even though they are supposed to catch any issues with the prescreen they pull before you’re allowed to go to MEPS

@@alexnick1023 you'll be okay they didn't check mine. I went to the same meps in San Antonio. Just stick to what you told your recruiter. If you change your answers that's where they'll get you. I just went through my meps process last month I ship out in 2 weeks.
@@marksallee6904 what did you tell your recruiter ? & were you taking any medications or had any surgeries that MHS genesis didn’t find?
how did you do on the 2 mile run the first time? that’s the only thing that really worries me between the sit ups, push-ups and the run 😭
So the first time I ran a 28 min, 2 mile lol I know I suck but the 2nd time I ran a 22:53 which was a huge improvement! Sadly they hardly let us run in basic training so i never had any space to improve in my running but in AIT I run so much more so we’ll see what my 2 mile comes out to! Your body eventually gets used to it so don’t stress, you will see how EVERYONE, even the fittest people you know, suck when everyone is getting smoked. You & your platoon go thru it together! It’s hard at times but worth the stress!

How did the doctor portion go? Do they inspect your body and ask a lot of questions? Thats the only portion that worries me

Hey thanks for tuning in! I would say to keep studying simple math equations and paragraph comprehension. It definitely helps. Arithmetic reasoning is no joke.
@@tiffanymariewilliams I did alot better on my practice test. I have to go back to the base to take the test. I don't know how to swim that's the only thing that has me a little nervous once I start boot camp.

Please tell me about the weight, do they select you if you are overweight?
The ASVAB will be a computer one. All you really need to worry about is the both math portions, words, and reading comprehension, it's high school level. If you have trouble with math etc RUclips is a great tool for tutoring of what questions you struggle with. And if you're overweight, if you're a male they will tape your lower abdomen and neck. They will subtract the percentage of your neck from your waist. I'm not 100 percent sure for females but I heard they do your neck and hips and subtract your neck from hips to determine your body fat percentage. I could be wrong but depending on your branch of service check out the requirements!! Good luck 😁
so my eyesight is terrible, like dog water terrible in one eye. how would that affect the MEPS process?
Hey, thanks for tuning in! I would talk to a recruiter but I know people who have really bad eyesight that were still able to enlist! My husband has terrible eyesight and he’s been in for 3 years now. Only thing is they force you to wear army issued glasses during basic. Other than that I think you should be good.

I’m worried about being able to pass PT scores, I can barely do 5 push ups and 2 sit ups, I’m female too

Don’t be worried! Passing the ACFT will be no problem! You have 6 events on the ACFT and it’s honestly easy. Thru basic you end up getting more fit so it definitely won’t be an issue!

The military wants the best, but those types aren't willing to put up with the bs.
My left eye is 100% good but I am almost seriously blind from my right eye. I know they have a waiver but do you think I would still qualify?
Not sure, might have to talk to a recruiter about it!
Talk to a recruiter my husband has very poor vision and he still got in without a waiver

No! You won’t really do any exercises until reception or basic training!
MEPS is pretty much the DMV of the military 😂

@@J2010Kramer they do look at your body but they really don’t ask about your health history if I remember correctly they usually have everything there already
Were you able to do push-up and setup??
Oh yeah, they make you do hella push ups but its something you get used to after doing it everyday for 2 months straight!

Yes they did but honestly if you’re going to basic don’t lie about any severe shit Bcs they can always get you chaptered out (kicked out basically) once you get there and they find out!
What if I already took the ASVAB?
Then it should pop up in ur records and tell ur recruiter and if it’s on ur records you can take Picat and if no you retake the ASVAB

It was before I was actually in! I waited a year to get in due to my weight but now that I’m actually in its alright 😂
I could have been dqed easily as I didn't know I had high arches. But they took it into account I had never been told, so I was legit not trying to hide it. I was barely under the max allowed. Sometimes they will take into account that but don't plan on it if you know and try to hid something.

I shipped out May 2nd and finished basic training on July 15th! Currently at AIT
Going forward, take note that you need to look at the camera, not the screen when addressing your audience in a video.

You made a misstatement. You are sworn in twice, you are not officially in the military until the second swearing. You can back out and yes they will threaten you and try to scare you but until that second swearing in, you can walk away.
I had my son watch this as he is going Air Force/Space Force and does MEPS in a week.
do they inspect every little scar? i work at a veterinarian clinic and have random ass scars from getting scratched/bit by animals 🥲
Not every little scar, the doctor at MEPS just went over it and I was explaining. Other than that, she didn’t really seem to do anything else.
