Whatever they ask, say "No maam" you've never done drugs, never been suspended or expelled from school, never broken a bone (Unless you've gotten surgery on that broken bone),never had any mental problems....Say yes to glasses if you wear them,if you've been arrested (IF) you still have the charges on your record. They DO NOT have access to medical records,or school records passed, they can't tell you've done any drugs, unless you fail urinalysis.Be calm during the hearing test, for it is easy to fail because all you'll hear is the beat of your heart.
The issue for me is that I have a large scar on my back and my recruiter said it could be a disqualifier. Other than that, I'm perfectly fine, healthy, great physical shape; just that obstacle in the way.
I’m going to the hotel right now, but I’m doing the physical tomorrow. The only thing I didn’t list down to my recruiter is that I have slightly bad hearing in the left ear. My right ear is perfect. It’s like left-65% right-100%. Is the hearing test hard? And can you make it through with partial hearing loss? I’ll edit this comment in a few days when I finish the physical. Edit: I have officially completed my MEPS physical exam and what can I tell you other than I passed everything. If you’re so concerned about your vision or hearing don’t be.. unless you’re extremely blind or straight up deaf. You’ll be perfectly fine. I have tinnitus and I’m half deaf in my left ear yet I still heard most of all of the beeps played. And for vision, yes, it can be difficult but the examiner does ask which row you can read up to. It’s not hard as you think it is. Any other questions depending on the MEPS physical, you can ask me.. especially coming from someone with a shit load of bad stuff walking into the physical. I had surgical scars, a few birthmarks, acne, scratches/cuts, and then I had a blurry right eye with a partial deaf left ear. Turns out I was the 1st person out of 15 other people to be officially medically qualified (and this was the first time visit there).
Don’t be freaked out guys it was this dude and when I went to meps my first time it was his fifth time at meps yes we clowned on him and he laughed no one took offense but he got a whole bunch of waivers and he was successful his fifth btw he is going infantry in the army he leaves next month and I leave October 88H
Brandon Torres are you going active duty? If you are there’s only a handful of places you’ll go. I’m at Campbell right now. Chances of deploying are slim. You can pick up e5 pretty fast if your not fucked up. Less than 3 years. All I can tell you is learn your job and get good at it. You’ll be going on a lot of missions. We move everything. At Campbell we are the only unit that have 10ks and Kalmars so we move all the conexs for the whole division. That’s if your coming to campbell. Good luck. If you have any questions let me know.
Please do a video on waivers. I can’t get a recruiter to email me back but I’m very serious about joining. Preferably Air Force. I’ve had surgery on both knees (2006/2007) left ankle (2011), left elbow (2009). All were orthroscoped and I have absolutely no issues with them. My 1.5 mile run is down to 15 mins and I’m up to 33 correct push ups in one minute. I’ve made a 69 on the practice asvab.
Damn Dude! That's going to be tough getting med waviers! If i was you i would go ARMY. Air Force isn't going to accept you but the Army will likely submit some waviers. I believe they have a new policy that waviers are reviewed and approved or not in 30 days Max. Try it out dude
The Cook And the Cookie I heard the army is the branch most likely to approve waivers. If Air Force tells me no then that’s what I’ll try. I have no issues with any of my joints and have full mobility.

The Cook And the Cookie thanks for the motivation. I’ve heard some crazy stories about how people have gotten waivers for all kinds of stuff so I know it’s possible, just have to go through the process.

I am a little overweight, and my recruiter is actively working out with me to get me to an acceptable point so I pass the tape and go from there. From what I have gathered the recruiters are on your side at least where I am located and they aren't there to be your enemy
My recruiter said if I don't take medication for it or it doesnt affect me now put no to it my dad was there for it I'm 17 signing up for navy reserves
I already went to meps but didn’t swear in because the school I went to the Marine Corps has this new tier system where if you go to a tier 2 (charter or private school ) you have to have your HS Diploma in hand, well my recruiters had no idea about this. So I was sent home after I was asvab and med qualified. Now I have my HS Diploma and I am going back to MEPS. But between the time I went before and now had an ATV accident and had a concussion, skull fracture, and a nice scar my forehead. My recruiters told me there is no way to hide that scar. So I have to go down the med packet route. Luckily I have no permanent trauma or condition from this, and also my skull fracture healed naturally meaning no surgery required. I submitted my hospital records day of the accident and a follow up from my primary care doctor who said I am fit for everyday activity and there is nothing wrong with me. Waiting for MEPS to comeback with their verdict. Recruiter told me it will either be he's good " or "need more paperwork” I don't see why they would need more. The hospital never asked for follow up care because it would heal on it's own. I have no light ty, no headaches. Nothing, just a slight crack of my head and my first concussion in the 19 years I have lived here. I am very confident because my only dream since I was 6 years old was to become a United States Marine. I’ll keep you updated. Semper Fi
Is MEPS really that hard these days? In 84 all we really had to do was pass the piss test, the physical, and not get caught in a lie. Hell, they even offered me airborne in my contract as they were typing it up (required a quick additional physical test). It felt like they wanted me in more than they were trying to DQ me.
I go to meps on next monday 4/12/2021! I'm ready but freaking nervous. I never thought that I would be joining the military, and I'm getting married this Sunday at age 19.
That’s your opinion my guy. I found love at a early age and others had it worst. Situations may vary and with just communication and respect, you will go a long way.
My MEPS experience, which admittedly was a LONG time ago back in '85, was such a non-experience I barely remember it. I do remember I hated taking the ASVAB since I detested taking long tests, but other than that, I thought it was just a formality. At the time, unless you're a complete rock and flunk out of the ASVAB or a crackhead who can't pass the piss test, it was very difficult to not make it though.
Going to meps tomorrow. But afraid of the piss test. Ive tried everything to clean out weed from my system. Ive been clean about 3 months but keep coming out positive any advice

Thank you for making this video. I have been considering enlisting in the Army since I was 13 (I'm 24 now), and my biggest concern (outside of scoring really low on the ASVAB) has been not passing the MEPS. Thank you for putting my mind at ease about it. Now I've got to figure out how to break the news to my parents that I want to join the military....
I already broke the news to my family about me wanting to join, and it all went well, took my ASVAB test, scored a 54, and now prepping to go to MEPS sometime in February. I'm nervous as well, and hope to pass it the 1st time. How are you making out?
For MEPS is for ADHD right because I have been diagnosed with it when I was like 4 and I took medication and if learned how to control after going to a therapist before the age of 13 so I have all the paperwork and stuff for my ADHD so I hope they don't disqualify me from there 😬
This is not up to date. The Dr asked me about things I never disclosed that she found in the genesis portal. I just admitted to it, explained it and I passed. So don't lie, go ahead and down play things. But if they ask you about something that wasn't disclosed just own up to it.
They are literally making you sign papers so they can look at your pharmaceutical records now. I was supposed to go to MEPS next week and now they have this new form so I have to wait 2 weeks in advance to go to MEPS.

I go to see a recruiter for the Army in a couple of days. I have already talked to him about my only medical problem. I fractured my left femur bone from an accident when I was like 6 (I'm 19 now) I do have a titanium rod still in my leg and a scar from surgery and a scar by my knee from the accident it didn't hurt my knee. the leg has never given me a problem since it healed like a year after the accident. And I was even cleared in middle school and high school to play football. I have always wanted to join and I was always afraid I was going to get disqualified because of this. What do you think the chances are for me to get a waiver and make it through MEPS? Thanks for all your great content and hopefully I will be a future soldier in the Army.
I’m kinda worried about the dental part and most dentists are mean but if i gotta get it fixed I will, and my recruiter definitely told me this is his job and as long as I do most the work he will meet me halfway. I definitely disclosed everything, and the only scars are csection which will have to get the paper work for.
i’ve heard in the past people get disqualified for nut allergies. at Meps do you get tested for this kind of stuff? or does it only come up when the person brings it up?
Went to MEPS, did not pass eye exam, re-tested two other times, found out my paper work was lost first time, went second time, some of results were inaccurate. Sent letter for reconsideration, got accurate results from my own eye doctor. Submitted paperwork again… what’s next,,, Are you not allowed to wear glasses in the military…. With glasses my vision is 20/20…… why the hassle???

So?
How'd it go? lol
He died
I have a confession guys but I can explain:) they wouldn’t give me airborne Nd tried to get me shipped out w a whole new mos w airborne so I backed out n ended up joining the navy as a Seabee BU don’t hate me
I ship out feb 9
5 years ago when I went to meps my roommate told me he just smoked and was wondering if they were gonna drug test😭😭😭
If anyone is like me and got nervous for the blood pressure heart rate part like me please don’t be it took me a whole extra few months and waivers for no apparent reason and it was unnecessary just relax and you’ll be fine had to get waivers and finally got in and made it all the way through infantry osut. Best of luck to everyone.
Same thing happened to me I’m now waiting for Dr. clearance, I didn’t ask my doctor for a clearance the first time he did a ekg on me and now meps want a clearance but my doctor refused to give me a clearance letter because he say it’s been over 3 months since I had it done he want me to do another one ekg.
luna sunny sorry to hear man my 3 year contract is finally up in November so I’m almost out now but just letting you know even after at meps at basic training before deployment even every year they do a periodic health assessment they are going to take your blood pressure heart rate so it’s something that your going to need to eventually get over anyway best of luck hope it all works out for you.
Jon Ronan thank you so much
It’s like at home it’s normal as soon I step out to the doctor office it went up I wasn’t like that before but I need to fix that.
luna sunny yeah I was the exact same way I wish I could give you advice but I know that saying “ just relax” doesn’t work if not even makes it worse but good luck
Jon Ronan thank you so much again
this helped ease my mind, i’m going to meps in like 10 days
Whatever they ask, say "No maam" you've never done drugs, never been suspended or expelled from school, never broken a bone (Unless you've gotten surgery on that broken bone),never had any mental problems....Say yes to glasses if you wear them,if you've been arrested (IF) you still have the charges on your record. They DO NOT have access to medical records,or school records passed, they can't tell you've done any drugs, unless you fail urinalysis.Be calm during the hearing test, for it is easy to fail because all you'll hear is the beat of your heart.
Late but I’m going tomorrow. Thanks man. Trying to be an Army 68W
❤️!
Forgot to mention. Got thru and sworn in as a 68W! Shipping out in September!
@@brianlieb3515 how are u
You should be good!
This gives me major confidence bro. My left ear is also not the best due to fluid in the middle ear. It's the only thing I'm nervous for.
Could you explain what they draw your blood for? Is that for testing for drugs, or anything like that?
Hey Ben,👋🏾
Could you please do a video on the Asvab? I’m planning to take mine next month
U end up passing??
@@damaribrackett1159 Agreed
Don’t be freaked out guys it was this dude and when I went to meps my first time it was his fifth time at meps yes we clowned on him and he laughed no one took offense but he got a whole bunch of waivers and he was successful his fifth btw he is going infantry in the army he leaves next month and I leave October 88H
Your gonna hate your job.. im a hotel.. I ets in a couple months tho..
ThaBlunted1s what am I going it hate?
Brandon Torres are you going active duty? If you are there’s only a handful of places you’ll go. I’m at Campbell right now. Chances of deploying are slim. You can pick up e5 pretty fast if your not fucked up. Less than 3 years. All I can tell you is learn your job and get good at it. You’ll be going on a lot of missions. We move everything. At Campbell we are the only unit that have 10ks and Kalmars so we move all the conexs for the whole division. That’s if your coming to campbell. Good luck. If you have any questions let me know.
ThaBlunted1s yea I’m going active duty and what are some of the things that suck? And that’s good news if you can pick up E-5 quick?
Brandon Torres you got an ig or something I’ll dm you
Thank you so much for this video going to MEPS tomorrow nervous as h*ll you kind of took away my worries now much appreciated !
A waiver is just something so you cant claim it as service connected when you exit the military.
I needed to see this video thank you. I go to MEPs Friday the 10th. Army infantry here I come.
Thank you for this video I just took my ASVAB and will be going to MEPS soon a little nervous since I’ve had a knee surgery as well, great advice
@@jenniferguinn222 You have to look at your medical history from the Air Force or Army perspective. You can be 100% Physically but on paper your jacked up! Its not Impossible it will just take time, effort, and patience.
The Cook And the Cookie thanks for the motivation. I’ve heard some crazy stories about how people have gotten waivers for all kinds of stuff so I know it’s possible, just have to go through the process.
Jennifer Guinn I had surgery on both knees as well.. (ACl replacement). I got “disqualified” and I go to meps tomorrow to do the physical only. If I pass I go again to swear in...
I got 3 more years until I can try to enlist but I'm preparing as much as possible, so far I've learned the answer is always no 😂
Going to meps today. How convenient this video was just posted
thank you man. you make me feel relieved. going at MEPS next monday. goodluck to me.
How did go? Lol.
I wish i would have watched this when I first went to MEPS. I passed btw
Thank you so much men, I watch this video and its really interested and important because tomarrow I have my physical Army test going in

The duck walk I almost failed but passed. I think they were being easy on me for some reason. Love the vidz bro from future marine. Rn I am a Poolee.
Semper Fi

Charles Sorden did you pass?
Is MEPS really that hard these days? In 84 all we really had to do was pass the piss test, the physical, and not get caught in a lie. Hell, they even offered me airborne in my contract as they were typing it up (required a quick additional physical test). It felt like they wanted me in more than they were trying to DQ me.
Meps is pretty easy as long as u clean
Doing my Medical on Tuesday wish me luck I finally passed the asvab after 5 attempts. Pass with a 38 , going for MP
Update
Hey can you make a video on waivers? I’m going to meps next week and I wanna know how getting a waiver works👍🏼
I go to meps on next monday 4/12/2021! I'm ready but freaking nervous. I never thought that I would be joining the military, and I'm getting married this Sunday at age 19.
Bro your too young to get married !
That’s your opinion my guy. I found love at a early age and others had it worst. Situations may vary and with just communication and respect, you will go a long way.
@@TheAngrylizard5111 Maybe get to know yourselves a bit more before marriage just saying 🤷♂️
I know im 3 months late, but definitely make a video about waivers please.

This really helped, thank you, my recruiter seems trustworthy and good. She's been saying I should be just fine with a waiver
Any update?
@@Wattoman1222 I ended just taking a verification test I passed it. So I get to keep my PICAT score which was 45. I got more time to get clean. I'm clean now. I have the physical this Wednesday. I'll keep you updated. Are you dirty or just trying to see what's up with MEPS
I am stressing out over meps so bad right now really needed to see this thanks
My recruiter told me that if I can stand naked in front of the mirror and look fine you're okay.
UPDATE: I went to MEPS November 25 of 2019.
If I had to give any tips then I would say, DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING. Agree with everything the doctor says is on the paper you gave them. They will use different ways to say the same thing so pay attention.
Also if any of you guys know you're going to Navy Boot camp July 27 let me know!
Jade Marie congrats
I got my balls handled and ass cheeks spread
Jonathan DeLeon was that 1on 1 or was it a group thing

Great video man, good work
Hey Ben!
What happened to your knee? And did you need a waiver? I tore my meniscus 10 years ago so I’m hoping that doesn’t disqualify me
I had surgery on my torn meniscus
Thank you for making this video. I have been considering enlisting in the Army since I was 13 (I'm 24 now), and my biggest concern (outside of scoring really low on the ASVAB) has been not passing the MEPS. Thank you for putting my mind at ease about it. Now I've got to figure out how to break the news to my parents that I want to join the military....
You are old enough. It's your decision.
I already broke the news to my family about me wanting to join, and it all went well, took my ASVAB test, scored a 54, and now prepping to go to MEPS sometime in February. I'm nervous as well, and hope to pass it the 1st time. How are you making out?
Only thing I’m worried about is getting my blood drawn, I hate needles but everything else is fine
Soldier on
I am enlisting next week in the Army National Guard, this video definitely was reassuring. To be honest I'm more nervous with the ASVAB than MEPS.

For MEPS is for ADHD right because I have been diagnosed with it when I was like 4 and I took medication and if learned how to control after going to a therapist before the age of 13 so I have all the paperwork and stuff for my ADHD so I hope they don't disqualify me from there 😬
How did it turn out??
How was it?
This is not up to date. The Dr asked me about things I never disclosed that she found in the genesis portal. I just admitted to it, explained it and I passed. So don't lie, go ahead and down play things. But if they ask you about something that wasn't disclosed just own up to it.
Even for a baker act?
Yea I joined in 2015 and it was different, someone told me a few weeks ago that now they just directly pull your civilian medical records lol
REMEMBER IF U LIED ON YOUR PACKET LIE TO MEPS I can ask for my packet to review my answers b4 i go right?
Damari Brackett you probably can, I’m not sure!
They are literally making you sign papers so they can look at your pharmaceutical records now. I was supposed to go to MEPS next week and now they have this new form so I have to wait 2 weeks in advance to go to MEPS.
I just quit using snuff I'm kinda spooked if they check your mouth my gums are pretty fucked tbh I don't have mouth cancer just blisters🤔.i know a guy who used snuff for years before he went so I think I should be ok
I'll be there on tuesday.. Wish me luck boys!
Not sure if you have or not but can you make a video on WAIVERS !?!? I don’t need one(that I know of) but just in case I would definitely like a little advice and explanation and you do a great job at both of those.
I am headed to MEPS this Friday for my physical. I am prior service. I served in the military from 2009-2017. I am worried about the hearing test. Are the beeps in the same rhythm. Like every five seconds there's a beep ;-)
Meps took me 5-7 hrs for my one paper for testing because I was missing one letter on my name input....I was so frustrated and finally took the teat at the end of the day and passed.....😂Tomorrow's medical
i literally played uno for like six hours
it was alot of waiting.
Had i known this 16 years ago i could of been in but i told on myself because i have eczema so i ended up getting pdqed.. but I'm not in the system anymore so I'm joining the navy
If it doesn’t hurt or affect you just lie to them if they ask about it
I’m kinda worried about the dental part and most dentists are mean but if i gotta get it fixed I will, and my recruiter definitely told me this is his job and as long as I do most the work he will meet me halfway. I definitely disclosed everything, and the only scars are csection which will have to get the paper work for.
i’ve heard in the past people get disqualified for nut allergies. at Meps do you get tested for this kind of stuff? or does it only come up when the person brings it up?

Sent letter for reconsideration, got accurate results from my own eye doctor. Submitted paperwork again… what’s next,,, Are you not allowed to wear glasses in the military…. With glasses my vision is 20/20…… why the hassle???

So we are completely confused right now because my son has been through all of that. My son has signed a contract and all. Today they told him he has to come back in 90 days. Can anyone with legitimate knowledge tell us what's going on and why would the Army do that?
Going to Meps hopefully soon just waiting on some waivers to come back. My question is do they do a dental check? How picky are they ?
The doc will tell you to say cheese and look really quick in your mouth. They’re real cool bro its a smooth but long process.
