A lot of the times when you consider joining the Army the recruiter will leave out key parts of information, well i'm here to help you out by providing all the info they don't want to tell you about the Army.

Maybe a video on the whole process. From the recruiter, to meps, to future soldier training, all of it. For a lot of people none of them know that whole process up front, I didn’t and I would’ve love to have known.

I know this is three years ago but when you did cq with your unit you have to work the next day ? Hell we got the day off after 24 hour staff duty or company cq I was in the 173rd in Italy in 2006 to 200&
Just went to the recruiter today. The bonus is up to 10k as soon as you finish training and AIT or OSUT. Then it’s divided up for the rest of your contract. For example if you had a $30k bonus for 5 year contract. When you finish training you’d get 10k up front, then 5k on the anniversary of that date for the remainder of your contract.
My recruiter was really straight with me he told me pretty much everything in this video. So thank you 1st SGT Davis from Goodyear, AZ

I got as far as enlisting.. went to the hotel to swear in the next day.. it got canceled cause of snow.. I backed out now... I REALLY REGRET NOT GOING THRU IT now!!

68W is challenging MOS. Requires keeping up your skills continuously as medical skills are perishable without constant practice and study. As a 68W you are required to maintain your National Registry Certification (NR-EMT) every two years and don't ever let it lapse because it's a potential career killer. Recertification at MSTCs and CMT sites on Army bases. 68C (LPN) is also a companion MOS many 68W hold as a secondary MOS so you can work on ADOS at Army hospitals around the world. Get a 4 year BSN eventually to commission. Or medical school.

WOW. I was in the Army from 78 to 82. That Army your talking about did not exist when I was in. I had a great time ...especially in Germany. And Ft Cambell. 11B.
I hear you brother, 83-87 11B with airborne, got put on levy after abn school because of an unassigned contract, went to Wiesbaden, Germany. PCS'd to Ft. Hood with Pathfinder sch enroute to 6th Cav as a pathfinder. Great unit, they pushed schools, jumpmaster, bnoc, air assault. Had a good time there with a great group of
guys, mostly prior ranger and 82nd. Alot of experience there!!
Yup they gave me my bonus over 4 years
lol as a 92G I often worked 9-12hrs a day 6 days a week including holidays... sometimes they would keep us at work just to sit there waiting for some sort of work out of the norm come up if we weren't in the dfac. If they are saying work in the army is 9-5 I would say that mostly isn't true and it definitely depends on your mos.
I enlisted back in 1971 during the Vietnam War. Back then one of the ways to get out of being drafted and sent to the Nam was to enlist in Army Reserve or National Guard. They did not deploy overseas. I don’t think that started until Desert Storm.
I'm laughing, everything you said is true, but you were in yourself. I laughed the whole video. I was green as hell when I signed up in November '84 after been expelled from college for destroying property at a Frat Party with my friends from high school. Don't go to college with your friends, so my Dad suggested that I go in the Army. I did 3 years (Nov 84- Dec 87), and I came back home to Ohio for 2 years , worked, then I moved to Atlanta, and attended Morehouse College and graduated in 1993.

Recruiter ended up lying to me and trying to force me into an MOS I didn't even want.

1000% agree with the dont settle part I signed my contact three days ago for 17c and they kept on pushing me towards 25b but I said I only wanted 17c and they also made the phone calls lol and I got the job

Green to Gold is why I joined. They dragged their feet on me and I stopped the process and settled for E8.
It's a good thing that my application was always rejected I was having been sitting at a unemployment place and he soldiers came and send it here's able body I said man I couldn't go at the time I did not know the reason why I couldn't go.... If I knew that back then I think I would have said it all out loud....

Its an old video so im probably shootin in the dark, but if you just ship to your duty station after osut how do you go abouts getting your car and all of your belongings from home?
If you are in reserves and have to deploy , is that considered active duty commands and would you get paid for that service as an active duty solider would?

The sick thing is the pension!!!!! Can you handle doing 20 on active duty? You already have 1 or 2 or 3 and if you do 20 you get half your pay for life. Twenty years goes by quickly if you do it it will be like a tax free pay for life! But you gotta do 20! If you don't its like I kick myself that I didnt do it I could retire at 38 live on beach with 4k a month plus tri care health care ohhhhhhhh noooo!

19 k bonus airborne infantry in 2006. You get 10 k when you get to your unit which is like 7 after tax’s then I got 3 k every year on that date
My grandson got halfway through BCT and started having depression and anxiety attacks...they are sending him home on medical leave..

I have been out of the Navy submarine force since 1980 but I heard something about pension in the Army reserve and I wonder if this is true and where to find the truth. I heard that NOW army reserve time is NOW equal to active duty in terms of pension. That if you do 20 years active duty and retire with half your pay. That it used to be Army reserve had to do more than 20 years but NOW 20 in reserves is same as active duty in terms of retirement? Is this true?

Doing it in segments would save you some tax pain. First duty station is going to almost always be battalion.

As long as you didn't sign a contract and swear in then no you can go to another recruiter and request to switch. I did that, went to meps for Marines and switched to the Army

Ill be shipping January 4th 68w I'm stoked. Also I have a baby on the way and will most likely be born while I'm at FT Sam, wife and I are in conroe as of now and she will be here while I'm in AIT. Will I be able to leave AIT for the birth of the child?

Don’t be, just study. I’ve had friends take it 3 times and I’ve had people get the score they want on the first try. Just study and you’ll do great.

Talk to a air guard recruiter and air reserves recruiter. Learn the differences from a recruiter. But yes you can live at home, go to drill twice a month but you can deploy at any time

I got a 20 thousand dollar signing bonus and it took me almost 4 years to get my money. Your first duty station will be where the next war is. Most enlistees where either sent to Afghanistan or Iraq in the 1990's era and beyond.
