Hey Efren, I would have loved to, but I did not get the chance. But, may I recommend the EC680/EC685/EC885, depending on where you live? Those perform better, in my opinion. Cheers! Tom
What’s the correct size portafilter for EC702? You mentioned 53mm but specs says 51mm. Will normcore 51mm 2 ear bottomless portafilter work with this machine?
Hey Tom, you are the EC/ECP champion. Your videos are great. Quick EC question - when you set your switch to “steam” do you notice back flow from the boiler to the reservoir? Is this normal or any issue you might have run into?
What I have seen, is that sometimes while steaming the water will exit the brew group, as the steam pressure forces open the expansion valve. But I don't think I've seen it go back into the water resevoir.
@@TomsCoffeeCorner Ok, thanks for the feedback. I am seeing bubbling coming up through the reservoir, so I wonder if the steam pressure is overcoming the OPV spring, that seems to be the only way it could get back that direction. I'm looking to add a pressure gauge and adjustable OPV, so I'll need to investigate what's going on there after I get some more equipment. Thank you!
What’s up Tom I really value your opinion in about add ons in coffee machines, and your reviews. What you rate this machine vs the 3420 model? Thanks! Sorry my phone is dying!
I prefer the 3420. They are actually quite similar, but the ECP has better ergonomics, and I think a different shower screen. Plus, you can just take the panarello off the ECP3420.
did you ever get around to doing any more experiments like you suggested inn this vid? i got one of these recently for £10, needed descaling and its been fun learning with it tho i wanted to expand on tinnkering with it.
No, not on this machine. But I have videos on the ECP 3420, and they share similar boilers and brew groups. Might wanna check those videos out. Cheers!
