Great job. I like the comparison of the brushed and brushless systems. I just had the same breakage on my Traxxas Bigfoot. Right where the pin hole is. Cheap fix but yes it is annoying. I really like the look of the Summit and can tell it's a blast to drive. Thanks for sharing.
Do e revo axles fit the summit? Surely they’d be fine since you’re using the e revo electronics, I’ve never broken a revo axle in all my days bashing it
Hey! I have the twin Dewalt 775 motor conversion running on 4s, (summit) it works well for power, but its always overheating and guzzles the batteries like crazy! just looking to see about a brushless conversion to extend battery life (2x 2s 6200mah) maybe some fans and larger batteries? or a mild brushless conversion. Good info on common weak points in the chassis.
Yeah it’s an Awesome Truck! If you wanna go fast you pretty much have to swap it over to a Brushless setup…if you’re into crawling they’re still a lot of fun with the stock setup in them…they’re just not fast lol
I would definitely crawl in low gear as much as possible….high gear puts a lot of strain on the motor especially when there’s a lot of resistance and you’re trying to go slow
Hello i have a question to my brushless summit my driveshaft Broke and i cant buy the driveshaft from youre Video then i live in germany and the shipment is not Working. Do you have Another idea for a steel driveshaft .my English is bad sorry.
Too many inspirations... 🙂 Are the GPM spider gears in your diffs (you mentioned them in an earlier video) a significant improvement over original traxxas gears? My spider gears front diff (traxxas original) broke today 😞
You gotta install a brushless system….you unfortunately can’t buy one from the factory You could possibly find one for sale secondhand that was already converted over to brushless though
Putting 6s brushless power into a summit is just stupid. The diffs cant handle the power. Only thing that makes sense is a mild sensored brushless system on 4s max. If you want power on that chassis just use the revo 1.0, duh!
Mine has upgraded diffs…so I’m not super worried about destroying them on 6s, stock diffs are garbage…thats why they need to be upgraded, but you’ve got a right to your own opinion
@RCKnockout of course you can do with your vehicles whatever you want, but launching and jumping just shows that you don't get what a summit is about. Might as well participate in drag racing with a trx4.
@@AsurasWrath164 I know exactly what the Summit is all about…it’s an all purpose machine…there is nothing wrong with launching it, jumping it, or crawling it….I just use them to have fun….
Love the summit videos keep them coming👍
Glad you like them!

Glad you enjoyed the video and gained some info from it!
Love rc comparison videos!! I know this is going to be a good one
Hope you enjoyed it!

I’m not sure tbh….I know the diffs are slightly different…the MIP shafts I bought are Summit specific
just a heads up bro LEM is out of business Mip are good
Oh didn’t know that….thanks for the heads up man! 👍😉
This video gave me a good lesson that I should not try jump with Summit. :)😆
Lol 😂

Yeah my brushless system hasn’t had any issues with overheating…the power does break a lot of parts though lol
I run my brushless summit on 4s and I use stock axles
I’ve broken my Summit axles loads of times on 4s…you must be very gentle with yours
What body's are those that exo skeleton looks sick an those big tires look so good
It’s the stock Traxxas summit body
Thats the only traxxas i like but id have to put prolly a max8 combo in it and i juat cant see buying it to just take motor and esc out

Why do I keep burning out the motor? What am I doing wrong? I went through 3 motors now rock crawling it. Am I not supposed to crawl at high gear?
I would definitely crawl in low gear as much as possible….high gear puts a lot of strain on the motor especially when there’s a lot of resistance and you’re trying to go slow
@@RCKnockout I also used 6s batteries. Probably had something to do with it.
@@OnlyTruthLove it might lol…but being in the 2nd gear definitely wouldn’t be recommended when crawling…it causes a lot of strain on the motor and esc
Does the traxxas sumit 1/16 come waith a brushless motor
Yeah I believe it does

I’m still trying to find a strong set of driveshafts for the Summit myself….I’ve heard the MIP ones are really good but they are very expensive
@@RCKnockout Do you think it's worth buying the plastic ones often?
@@RCKnockout Thanks for the answer
@@Koopa-v7j no, personally I break those every bash even on 4s….you would have to be going very easy on it all the time

Yes they are much stronger…they’re hardened steel

No it was pretty simple
