Should You Play Battlefield 2042 In 2024?

- Hi I'm Calzee! I've always wanted to check out the Battlefield franchise but never got round to doing so. So i thought i'd review the most recent entry, Battlefield 2042! I'm intrigued to see how it holds up after a couple years from the rough launch it had in November 2021, with many complaints about the game. Let's find out!

For me they killed 2042 when they:
1. Changed character voice lines. In the 2042 they're so boring. "That was really something, huh?". In the old games you used to have marines shouting stuff like "I'M GETTING FUCKED IN THE ASS OVER HERE". Now the characters look like people you'd see walking around a supermarket
2. Introduced MTX. No one wants their "operator" to have pink hair. We want old school dirty marine uniforms/army patterns.
3. Made the maps TOO big and TOO open. It was a nightmare to get around the map in 2042. There were zero CQC maps at launch iirc.
4. They went a bit too far with changing how different classes worked.
IMO the BF series is dead. The veteran DICE devs have moved on so I dont think the series will ever be able to live up to what it once was :(
very good points, if i had played the others then i could see the comparison myself but i'll take your word for it. i will be playing the others at some point. what would you say is the best? B3?
I can already tell the maps were too spacious when playing and saw that was a very common complaint, they really need to rework them again, the designs are so empty on the majority of them, only a couple good ones. i'm really excited to actually play some better ones that are made for war in the other titles lol.
the same goes with the character design, the characters look so badass in the older games from what i notice.
we'll see what the future of the series has to offer, i know most the team has moved on as you mentioned but we've yet to see a new title with an older setting - will be interesting. they could learn from 2042, who knows lol.
@@Calzee either BF3 or BF4 are the best. Id say 3, but they're both VERY similar
@Calzee Personally I really enjoyed BF1 and 5 the most. The communities for both are quite strong. The maps are stunning, unique, and extremely fun. Class variety is not bad albeit traditional I’d say. Very immersive games. I could not get into BF4. Maps are annoying and way too open.
@@Calzee BF 4 if you want better graphics but they are both great games.
@@Calzee Definitely BC2, it's somewhere in between the classic Battlefield experience and the modern multiplayer experience with great balance.
how the season work? if i buy the elite edition will i get access to all the new seasons too or only to the first 4?also are all the maps and weapons on base game just without the extra editions takes more time to unlock them? does the extra edition are only in reality include skins at this moment?
The seasons release every few months like fortnite, cod, etc. I believe it’s every seasons rewards you’ll get access to but don’t quote me. Personally, I wouldn’t say it’s worth it, as soon as the current season ends, all the weapons, vehicles, etc can be unlocked through assignments. In other words, it just skips the grind - and gives you new cosmetics and skins which other people won’t get. Everything else is unlockable.
Please please please do Titanfall 2!! The single player campaign is amazing, and the multi-player is alive and thriving!

The guns look like super soakers from a toy store.
The game is good...the community is not tho. Most matches I get in the game the team all works seperetly and even at the squad level no one plays with any tactical sense. Most people are running around trying to get the most kills not play the game as it was meant to be played. I think thats really why the game isnt and wont take off. People just really arent what they used to be anymore. Most players will drop there teammates without a second thought as long as it gets them that next attachment unlock. I tried getting into the game again and after awhile of just...the WORSE team work I have LITERALLY ever seen in any combat game I gave up. I was doing just fine on my scores...Ida done far better if I wasnt running half way across the world to revive squadys who arent playing as a squad at all. They need to add a feature where you can kick people out of your squad....even then tho. I just dont think people care about winning the matches anymore...like life they only care about themselves.
