@@pepperoni243 waterfowl dance is absolutely incredibly difficult to dodge consistently. it took the community a month to find an obviously unintentional way to dodge it, and that is STILL very difficult to do. i'm referring to running around in a circle around her invisible hitbox, the only boss in the SERIES with an invisible hitbox on the ground while theyre 20 feet in the air, to fuck with her ABSURD while using waterfowl dance and then dodging.
This is why he benefits from dragging his feet on finishing games. There's plenty of strats out there to watch for him to use to beat her. He already admitted to watching other ER playthroughs so of course he would find how to beat her from someone else.
This wasn't fun to watch, and he clearly didn't make his own strategy. He could've used a summon (not the mimic necessarily) and it would've had the same effect on the people who don't like cheesing. I'm not sure what he thinks he accomplished. At least if you're gonna use a cheese strat, be honest about it. 99% of people cheese bosses, it isn't a big deal. Do whatever you want to make the fight fun for you but don't lie in your people's faces claiming you "magically did something that works this time!".
I would agree with you in 99% of cases. The problem is that Phil created the environment he's in. Just look at the video of him fighting Tree Sentinel. Everything he did after that was pure hypocrisy. Furthermore, his chat actively tries to help him. All the time. And instead of taking that advice he berates, ridicules and bans his chat for it. When he was playing Nioh he did mid-stance spear the entire game, so when he got to parts that mid-stance struggled with and people recommended he stance dance (like you're supposed to) or use high stance for the trip, he tried it 1 time. Failed miserably and mocked the person who recommended it as a moron who didn't know what he was talking about. Phil's entire presence as an entertainer comes specifically from his ability to produce salt and rage. He has no personality beyond that. He's a disgusting human being (snorting, coughing, burping/farting in the mic without muting) that has absolutely no love or interest in the game beyond the payday.
I remember when I first beat Malenia, I was level 164, didn't grind, just got that level by playing the game. I looked up the wiki, apparently she was resistant to holy, not weak to anything really, but vulnerable to physical, blood loss, and frost. So I used the winged sythe, nice compromise between speed, range, and stagger, with added blood loss. Also took frost dragon spell, buffs, heals, scarlet rot cure spell, and 12 mana/2 health flasks. Also summoned mimic. I know he's too dumb to consistently dodge her and so she heals, but us together can out dps her heal, and my heals can keep him alive no problem. It still took 2 hours, waterfowl dance kept killing me by surprise and sometimes I didn't have enough time to block, still never figured out how to dodge it perfectly. But I eventually cut her down. And it was fun. I had fun. Phil just looks totally dead when he finally beats her. Just... nothing. No anger, happiness, relief. He doesn't even make an attempt to play up any emotion. I *almost* pity him. But he's playing the game the way he chooses to play. Look up guides, cheese as hard as possible, still die, and then lie about how he's not using guides and that the game is glitchy. He alone is responsible for the " nothing" he feels.
@@MyRedHulk I also used Tiche against Malenia because I did not feel like bashing my head against the wall. Now, on an INT build, I'm parrying her first phase and trying to take her down solo. Both strategies are valid. It's a fun game if you use the mechanics it gives you.

Horah Loux's second and third phase are going to probably cause the most salt from the AOEs alone though...

Eventually he beat her by getting amazing RNG to where she didn't do her best moves and spamming an attack that stunlocked her into a corner (while also healing him for a ton because he doesn't know how to dodge). Did I mention he was also level 151? Also this attack he has literally never used before, but he totally didn't look at any guides :) Then after she's dead he looks immediately at chat expecting those khantributions to pour in from the dent heads and wheelchairs that love to give him their disability checks.

imo, it wasn’t so much about the level, but his setup in general which gives him the ridiculous poise along with the legendary defense talisman really helped him stay alive a lot despite being a really sloppy player against this boss. Although, I can’t rlly respect Phil’s playthrough all that much, multiple times he was getting his ass beat by different bosses and always just come back later where he could easily just kill it rather than endure the challenge. Now normally, this is just what Elden Ring gives you as an option and it’s fine but Phil always brings up how he wants to beat the bosses cleanly, which I always just laugh at

Have you played against Malenia? It's not nearly that simple. Certain weapons and attacks also have so much input lag (this has always been an issue in souls you would know if you've played the series) that often performing an action and Malenia doing her dance makes it extremely difficult to just sprint away like you say

He goes from using the Halberd, to Duel greatswords, to Blaphmous blade, and uses the well know cheese attack. It's no coincidence. Like I said, he did the same thing in Sekiro. He's fooling no one.

@@pepperoni243 waterfowl dance is absolutely incredibly difficult to dodge consistently. it took the community a month to find an obviously unintentional way to dodge it, and that is STILL very difficult to do. i'm referring to running around in a circle around her invisible hitbox, the only boss in the SERIES with an invisible hitbox on the ground while theyre 20 feet in the air, to fuck with her ABSURD while using waterfowl dance and then dodging.
This is why he benefits from dragging his feet on finishing games. There's plenty of strats out there to watch for him to use to beat her. He already admitted to watching other ER playthroughs so of course he would find how to beat her from someone else.
But he drags them out so long, his audience loses interest.
This wasn't fun to watch, and he clearly didn't make his own strategy. He could've used a summon (not the mimic necessarily) and it would've had the same effect on the people who don't like cheesing. I'm not sure what he thinks he accomplished. At least if you're gonna use a cheese strat, be honest about it. 99% of people cheese bosses, it isn't a big deal. Do whatever you want to make the fight fun for you but don't lie in your people's faces claiming you "magically did something that works this time!".
I would agree with you in 99% of cases. The problem is that Phil created the environment he's in. Just look at the video of him fighting Tree Sentinel. Everything he did after that was pure hypocrisy. Furthermore, his chat actively tries to help him. All the time. And instead of taking that advice he berates, ridicules and bans his chat for it.
When he was playing Nioh he did mid-stance spear the entire game, so when he got to parts that mid-stance struggled with and people recommended he stance dance (like you're supposed to) or use high stance for the trip, he tried it 1 time. Failed miserably and mocked the person who recommended it as a moron who didn't know what he was talking about.
Phil's entire presence as an entertainer comes specifically from his ability to produce salt and rage. He has no personality beyond that. He's a disgusting human being (snorting, coughing, burping/farting in the mic without muting) that has absolutely no love or interest in the game beyond the payday.

I remember when I first beat Malenia, I was level 164, didn't grind, just got that level by playing the game. I looked up the wiki, apparently she was resistant to holy, not weak to anything really, but vulnerable to physical, blood loss, and frost. So I used the winged sythe, nice compromise between speed, range, and stagger, with added blood loss. Also took frost dragon spell, buffs, heals, scarlet rot cure spell, and 12 mana/2 health flasks.
Also summoned mimic. I know he's too dumb to consistently dodge her and so she heals, but us together can out dps her heal, and my heals can keep him alive no problem.
It still took 2 hours, waterfowl dance kept killing me by surprise and sometimes I didn't have enough time to block, still never figured out how to dodge it perfectly. But I eventually cut her down.
And it was fun. I had fun.
Phil just looks totally dead when he finally beats her. Just... nothing. No anger, happiness, relief. He doesn't even make an attempt to play up any emotion.
I *almost* pity him. But he's playing the game the way he chooses to play. Look up guides, cheese as hard as possible, still die, and then lie about how he's not using guides and that the game is glitchy. He alone is responsible for the " nothing" he feels.

@@MyRedHulk I also used Tiche against Malenia because I did not feel like bashing my head against the wall. Now, on an INT build, I'm parrying her first phase and trying to take her down solo. Both strategies are valid. It's a fun game if you use the mechanics it gives you.

The Godskin duo has a chance, but their HP pool will most likely get demolished at his level. The beast Clergy phase to Maliketh is going to catch him off-guard for sure, DSP sucks against giant fast moving things dating all the way back to Bloodborne.
Horah Loux's second and third phase are going to probably cause the most salt from the AOEs alone though...

Damn how much health does piggy have? Her Aeonia plunge outright killed my character, if that didnt the explosion did. No wonder he got her in the end. Hes got massive health pool. One mistake i was dead and still got her in the end.
he probably has around 50-60 vigor. I had 50 when I fought her and when I mistimed my roll I didnt die from the plunge.
Eventually he beat her by getting amazing RNG to where she didn't do her best moves and spamming an attack that stunlocked her into a corner (while also healing him for a ton because he doesn't know how to dodge). Did I mention he was also level 151? Also this attack he has literally never used before, but he totally didn't look at any guides :)
Then after she's dead he looks immediately at chat expecting those khantributions to pour in from the dent heads and wheelchairs that love to give him their disability checks.

imo, it wasn’t so much about the level, but his setup in general which gives him the ridiculous poise along with the legendary defense talisman really helped him stay alive a lot despite being a really sloppy player against this boss.
Although, I can’t rlly respect Phil’s playthrough all that much, multiple times he was getting his ass beat by different bosses and always just come back later where he could easily just kill it rather than endure the challenge. Now normally, this is just what Elden Ring gives you as an option and it’s fine but Phil always brings up how he wants to beat the bosses cleanly, which I always just laugh at

You know what’s sad and pathetic? I killed her without armor and at level 86 with just dual uchigatanas (not fully upgraded) and it still took me less tries to kill her than DSP despite being severely overleveled, wearing full veteran set, and using fully upgraded blasphemous blade.

He complained so much about the 3 hit combo and not having stamina to dodge it but even with no stam you get one roll and it's enough to dodge it completely with good timing.
crazy that something as simple as changing the direction he is rolling could completely avoid some of the phase 1 moves. but that isn't spamming jump R2 so it's not a viable strategy
Pigs luck stat really is the greatest of all time. Imagine taking 150 tries barely learning a damn thing and then getting the most passive golden limp wristed RNG from Malenia. Have you played against Malenia? It's not nearly that simple. Certain weapons and attacks also have so much input lag (this has always been an issue in souls you would know if you've played the series) that often performing an action and Malenia doing her dance makes it extremely difficult to just sprint away like you say
