They never changed her. She’s always worked like this: her aggression is tied to how damaged she is in phase one (phase two is always max angry) and she needs to go down to around 70-75% before she’ll even consider using Waterfowl. It is just immensely more noticeable if you spend the majority of the fight running away from her rather than engaging her in melee.
Wasnt she nerfed or something, moveset wise? When I originally fought her in early 2023 I remember she was so very aggressive in the second fase, always running towards you and attacking. On my last two playthroughs, which where this last month, I beat her withing just two tries in each playthrough, and I felt that she was not as aggressive as before. Maybe I just got good at fighting her and thus can see and take advantage of more openings , idk.
Erm no. Missing hella context. He MANAGED to FINALLY beat her with a melee build last time. He spent days on it and did one single attack with no deviation. A jumping duel wield 2 handed heavy attack. Which he did most of the end game. He died countless times. Went and wantched videos after the night stream (standard Pig) and then simply prayed she did a set of moves only and never did the single one that stomped that "playstyle". This was all after she was patched to be weaker AND he did no other strategy. Literally X R2 (PS5) over and over.

DSP is a testament to the fantastic game design of Elden Ring that really anyone can beat it with enough time and effort + a good build. I always tell people that the RPG mechanics of Elden Ring are its difficulty slider lol.

You can see in the footage he panic rolls everytime Melania gets even close to him, which shows no matter how many times he fights her he never learns. I’m the footage he figured out to dodge the waterfowl dance but fails to avoid it other times. And the fact that she has to keep pulling out that move so that she can close on him because Phil is a coward and won’t fight her head on. His build is a battle mage, if your a battle mage then fight like one. Don’t even get me started with him complaining everytime he dies to her because he is too dumb to learn her moves. Every run is randomised, it plays like Punch Out with mini games (memory game, flappy bird, platforming, music game etc) I’ve done a no items run and have been stacking stuff up every run since. My dude now has so much stamina he can steamroll most encounters with pure brute force. Beaten the Duke, Baron and King. The only thing missing is a “DSP” difficulty and it would be utterly perfect. Super hard to stop playing it.

I have a funny story about this boss. Beat her second try. Turns out all you really need is a flame greatsword and an obscene amount of health. She has no poise and you can pretty much just stun-lock her. To this day I have exactly zero idea what her second stage is like because I rolled through her big explosion and unga-bunga'd her before she stood up (that's where the obscene amount of health comes in, that rot is painful).

If he had a brain he would have done it in 5 tries max night comet is absolutely broken since the only things that can dodge it are the teleporting ghost enemies and human players. His damage is pitiful which means despite him trying to be an int caster he has none of the 3 magic and spell boosting damage rings.

@@PseudoNym13 Also he had Carian Slicer. That spell does crazy dmg and can melt any boss in the game. But that would be require him fighting her close up, which means knowing how to avoid her attacks and knowing proper punish window.
I’m noticing that he doesn’t bother to learn the timing with the dodges and just spam rolls everything, and using a cheese magic build I hardly count as a victory for Phil in beating her. What a shame
while I'm always up for clowning on Phil, gatekeeping Souls games is twice as cringe

I get he gets handheld and reads guides, but if the game was really that difficult, it shouldn't matter. This is the same guy who rage quit "Kirby Souls" because it was too hard for him, but didn't rage quit this one.
Not saying Kirby was more difficult, but that it's an example of how the pigroach can fumble his way through all of these souls games multiple times without actually learning anything, so I can't see them as a test of difficulty that people want to make them out to be.
It's almost like Fromsoft makes these games so people like dsp can beat them and it will sell more copies.

However this is Phil, he doesn’t bother want to learn the bosses and enemy patterns of any souls games and would rather use any thing to cheese to make it easier on himself. You can see in the footage he panic rolls everytime Melania gets even close to him, which shows no matter how many times he fights her he never learns. I’m the footage he figured out to dodge the waterfowl dance but fails to avoid it other times. And the fact that she has to keep pulling out that move so that she can close on him because Phil is a coward and won’t fight her head on. His build is a battle mage, if your a battle mage then fight like one. Don’t even get me started with him complaining everytime he dies to her because he is too dumb to learn her moves. Spamming spells isn’t learning.

Phil somehow doesn't realize that, when it comes to streaming (AKA, entertaining people), how you win matters. He thinks as long as he wins, that makes him "good" and deserving of reward, no matter how boring it is to watch. It's a classic case of his insanely bloated ego getting in the way of his greed/common sense.

I have a funny story about this boss. Beat her second try. Turns out all you really need is a flame greatsword and an obscene amount of health. She has no poise and you can pretty much just stun-lock her. To this day I have exactly zero idea what her second stage is like because I rolled through her big explosion and unga-bunga'd her before she stood up (that's where the obscene amount of health comes in, that rot is painful).
You can perma stun her with prelates charge on the great stars or butchering knife. With enough end and mind you can just run her over the whole fight

Erm no?! The position is irrelevant to "greed". Greed is the act of taking more than you need or should. In Souls games it's usually from a situation where you get free time on an enemy. So the guy was right. Pigroach tried to get in an extra cast from his ultra safe, zero execution low effort piglord ways and got punished.
Obviously that is a trigger word for Goutman. He can't help but try sneak in an extra beg or manipulate an extra dono or squeeze in an extra excuse. Especially in low effort, ultra safe, zero execution life. So the greed really stung him.

She travelled the full wall hugging it at high speed which considering how cheap Ackdolf Piglar was playing, seems reasonable. But again he doesn't understand what a "teleport" is.
