It's very hard to get demoted in this game. The biggest penalty for a loss is capped at 40 points. In 5 you could lose 80+ if the opponent was one tier below you (IE, you are on plat and lose to an ultra gold player).

Remember to loose rank you need to be 39% or less win rate to even loose rank. Also Aki is the perfect example of a high skill character that you need to do combos instad of jab jab throw special.

I dont understand why he just doesn't sit down at his stream and be like, "Since I really want to get better at this particular character, I'm going to spend a good portion of the stream in the training room practicing today." If his dents are going to continue supporting him no matter what, they probably really dont care if he just sits there playing around with the mechanics, against a cpu opponent that he has full control over. Back in june when game released i tried to help him. Asked him why he wouldn't use training mode to lab stuff out and learn the game mechanics. His response on stream was that it's pointless, you don't learn anything from doing training mode against an ai character... So fuck phil, he's merely getting what he deserves for being a moron. He still doesn't know what to do in certain matchups and blasts it's online pattern scrub play, nothing he can do about it, all safe moves bullshit. He can win if the character he uses has a cheesy move he can spam around and even then, he struggles so hard. If sf6 had the same ranking points system as sf5 he'd still be stuck on gold, AT MOST, with blanka, honda and lily. But since you can fail upwards in this game with a 40% win ratio and get to master he thinks he's good and competitive. Which only fuels the salt when he gets destroyed by people who have better grasp of the game.
he does lab some stuff, but he needs way more practice. Imagine if he played a moba, none of his skills would combo right, his timings would be ass, and it would always be mids fault(unless he is mid). My favorite part is he was comboing and yells out "can't block" instead of "dropped the combo"

He doesn't bother to set the dummy to play those pattern combos he complains so much to figure out a way to get around them. He probably doesn't know how to come to think of it... he has a hard time navigating the menus and even trying aki trials he had difficulties to even watch a demo of the trial... which is pretty obvious in the menu. He doesn't bother to learn frame data and everyone who has a minimal understanding of it will make him start crying how did i get hit? Every button is a counter hit! We can all have a bad ranking session, it happens to every human, where we don't gain or even lose ranks and maybe we ragequit in frustration. My advise is not to dwell in the negative feelings and avoid tilting (trying to get back the rank as soon as possible). Take a break; next day, get back into training mode, try out your combos or whatever you need to sharpen your reflexes and THEN get back into Ranked Mode!
Let this be proof that DSP frauded his way into master with the easiest and most brain dead characters in the entire game. I heard some people saying it's because Phil can only play with command grab characters and that's not true because his Zangief is horrible and his Manon would probably just be as bad as his Gief. What Blanka, Honda, and Lily all have in common is they abuse mindless forward advancing hard to punish moves like Headbutt, Blanka Ball, and Spire. If Phil can't skip neutral with these moves he just mindlessly neutral jumps and jumps forward all game. Command grabs do help him a bit because he can get damage without needing execution unlike his AKI, but the neutral skipping is the biggest thing that carries him to fraud master. Let this also be a lesson to MK fans that Phil is just as bad at Street Fighter as he is at MK1 and when he actually has to play a character that requires some execution he is just as lost. If you run into Phil online don't let him get away with neutral skips, wait to anti air him, and just throw loop him because he is free to throw loops. That Chun he lost to was one of the weakest players he played tonight, but she only went for throw and air to aired him everytime he jumped so she won the set literally only doing throw something people have to do to him more often.
im a humble cammy and the hour i spent in trials with aki help my cammy game cause she is neutral based heavily but this guy doesnt realize that hes broken his stick cause he presses his buttons like hes hammering in railroad spikes and thats why his mooves never come out

The problem with aki for you is "jack of all trades" and if you cant abuse "strength by learning pros combos" you cant win.. your below average who cant adapt.. aki isnt for you.. (like top tiers aint for you because you cant combo..) Stick to "low tier" for an excuse to lose.. you have nothing else..play ken, play dj, play juri.. you cant.. theres no excuse to lose (your basic.. after evo and 15 years exp.. your basic who got unearned/lucky wins.. if you lose every mirror match.. we have an issue..)

I believe he got to a higher rank via placement matches, but once the dust settled, he was put in his rightful place.
It's very hard to get demoted in this game. The biggest penalty for a loss is capped at 40 points. In 5 you could lose 80+ if the opponent was one tier below you (IE, you are on plat and lose to an ultra gold player).
This isn’t new behavior from Phil so how can you blame it on “new” stress? This is almost like the baseline for him.
It's so stressful to play video games as "job". You wouldn't understand the effort it takes to churn out phasitive, meaningful khantent like Fil does.

Back in june when game released i tried to help him. Asked him why he wouldn't use training mode to lab stuff out and learn the game mechanics.
His response on stream was that it's pointless, you don't learn anything from doing training mode against an ai character...

He still doesn't know what to do in certain matchups and blasts it's online pattern scrub play, nothing he can do about it, all safe moves bullshit.
He can win if the character he uses has a cheesy move he can spam around and even then, he struggles so hard.
If sf6 had the same ranking points system as sf5 he'd still be stuck on gold, AT MOST, with blanka, honda and lily.
But since you can fail upwards in this game with a 40% win ratio and get to master he thinks he's good and competitive.
Which only fuels the salt when he gets destroyed by people who have better grasp of the game.
he does lab some stuff, but he needs way more practice. Imagine if he played a moba, none of his skills would combo right, his timings would be ass, and it would always be mids fault(unless he is mid). My favorite part is he was comboing and yells out "can't block" instead of "dropped the combo"

He doesn't bother to set the dummy to play those pattern combos he complains so much to figure out a way to get around them. He probably doesn't know how to come to think of it... he has a hard time navigating the menus and even trying aki trials he had difficulties to even watch a demo of the trial... which is pretty obvious in the menu.
He doesn't bother to learn frame data and everyone who has a minimal understanding of it will make him start crying how did i get hit? Every button is a counter hit! Waaaa waaaaaa omg it stuffed my moves waaaaaa.

P.S. Just a friendly advise! We can all have a bad ranking session, it happens to every human, where we don't gain or even lose ranks and maybe we ragequit in frustration. My advise is not to dwell in the negative feelings and avoid tilting (trying to get back the rank as soon as possible). Take a break; next day, get back into training mode, try out your combos or whatever you need to sharpen your reflexes and THEN get back into Ranked Mode!
Let this be proof that DSP frauded his way into master with the easiest and most brain dead characters in the entire game. I heard some people saying it's because Phil can only play with command grab characters and that's not true because his Zangief is horrible and his Manon would probably just be as bad as his Gief. What Blanka, Honda, and Lily all have in common is they abuse mindless forward advancing hard to punish moves like Headbutt, Blanka Ball, and Spire. If Phil can't skip neutral with these moves he just mindlessly neutral jumps and jumps forward all game. Command grabs do help him a bit because he can get damage without needing execution unlike his AKI, but the neutral skipping is the biggest thing that carries him to fraud master. Let this also be a lesson to MK fans that Phil is just as bad at Street Fighter as he is at MK1 and when he actually has to play a character that requires some execution he is just as lost. If you run into Phil online don't let him get away with neutral skips, wait to anti air him, and just throw loop him because he is free to throw loops. That Chun he lost to was one of the weakest players he played tonight, but she only went for throw and air to aired him everytime he jumped so she won the set literally only doing throw something people have to do to him more often.

It mostly comes down to ego. He thinks his above-average knowledge of how fighting games work should translate into skill he just doesn't have. His reflexes are terrible and his inputs are worse.

A loss just means the other player is a scrub who isnt really a good player
