    I recently bought the Presets and Actions after devouring most of the videos. As a 10 years pro photographer, I am really blown away by Marcus's creativity, expertise and most importantly his genuine effort to help out everybody who want to learn. I already learned so much from his post processing techniques (also realized how many online tutorials suck) and inspired by his shooting ideas from his videos. THANK YOU.
    I have only a few recommendations to improve, as an educator myself:
    1. Cull LR Presents: There are TOO MANY LR presets, some of which are great and some I have no idea when they can ever be useful (e.g. dreamy warm matte creates a super bright blueish photo??). Just like when we share our photos with clients, we only show the best, I would also recommend to reduce the number of presets to a manageable number and classify them in a more intuitive way. E.g. "Try these first" folder with your most used presets, and a "Crazy ideas" folder for all the rest that you still actually use even if rarely? Also a single xmp file can actually add all the presets into correct folders. Right now your recommended method adds everything into "user presets" folder which then becomes a nightmare to sort out later.
    2. Sort PS Actions: These are overall great. My only recommendation is to sort them in the ranking you show us that you use, and eliminate some small errors that pop up (e.g. Skin Perfection PPE). That will make it easier to remember when we have to do it ourselves without following your videos.
    Hope this helps, look forward to your future videos and updates to these presets :)

      Oguzhan Altun Thank you so much for the compliments!! I was thinking about narrowing them down a bit. The only issue I had with that was I have videos coming that use some of those presets ( the blue one is used in a subway shoot and it balanced out the terrible light that that photo had) but I will definitely take your words into consideration as I move forward! 😊

      @@SNAPAVELI Great thank you for the reply. You can also think about classifying them based on when to use (e.g. solve problem, create mood) or the final mood to create (warm, cool, edgy etc).
      Keep up the great work :)

      Oguzhan Altun That’s a great idea!! I think that’s what I’ll do! I literally have about 30-40 videos to do that I have bts footage and edits for. Just have to wait till November to make my full roll out once works is done for the year!

    The undefinable quality of the both the 50mm 1.2 and 85 1.2 EF is a result of their inherent Lack of sharpness indeed.
    Let me explain, those 1.2 EF lenses blur out the background to obliteration, so when the the subject in focus is a “bit soft” it gives the effect that the subject is a part of the entire image. Whereas the RF is so sharp on the subject that in contrast to the blurred out background the model looks as if he or she is separate for the background, almost photoshopped into the image.
    I personally owned the EF and sold it in favor of the 85 1.4L IS, lighter, faster af, better contrast and sharpness but not too much sharpness like the RF, a balanced compromise in my opinion.
    This is why a lot of people had sold their 35mm 1.4L to get the Mark II and then realized that the newer version was so sharp that it gave an effect that it was CGI, the images out of it felt artificial and no longer analog like the older one.

    • @SNAPAVELI
      @SNAPAVELI  5 лет назад +4

      Wilhelm Rosenthal great assessment! I sometimes really do prefer the older soft look , but worry that it will really fall apart once these sensors go to 83 mega pixels or whatever crazy number they produce. A lot of my older lenses looked sharp on my 24mp sensors but really showed their weaknesses on the 45mp sensors. I guess this is the future.....

      @@SNAPAVELI Do we really need anything above 40 or 50 MP? 30 MP is more than enough in most cases. Processing is slower, space needed is bigger, while people just see your photos on a smartphone. That's honestly ridiculous, unless you have a very specific need. At present most people can't see any real use of anything above 40 or 50 MP. There's also another drawback: focus by wire lenses have proven to have a shorter life, in the past.

    • @SNAPAVELI
      @SNAPAVELI  4 года назад

      Adnexart Photo hey! No you really don’t Need the megapixels at all but I think you do need the dynamic range. Some sensors files fall apart when editing rather fast. My r5 has really good dynamic range, the Z7 does as well. The r6 actually had pretty decent dynamic range too. It’s totally up to what you need while editing

    Marcus, how did you find the AF on the EOS R with the EF? Was it accurate? One thing is not being sharp. That's ok. Another thing is not being sharp because it misses the focus point. How does it perform with the adaptor? Tia

    • @SNAPAVELI
      @SNAPAVELI  4 года назад +3

      Hey! It’s totally accurate on the eos r! Way more than dslr. It’s not as fast as the new one so there’s that, but it’s accurate. I honestly can’t sell it, it has too much character.

      I own the sigma 105 1.4 for my Sony A7r4 and it's the sharpest lense period i have ever shot, not for some dumb reason I just tried canon for the first time and picked up the eosr and the rf 85 1.2. It's freaking beautiful but haven't done an actual client with makeup and ready for a shoot. The Canon eye af is really close to my Sony. Little slower.

    Hi, Have the EF 85mm F1.2 I won't let it go, at times its a real Bitch of a lens eye just out of focus, Then I spend an hour or 2 playing with the lens micro adjustment in my Canon 5d mk iv ended up on plus 12. I can't express how pleased I am with the results I am getting hit after hit at F1.2

      @SNAPAVELI  2 года назад

      @@react1200 being very honest with you I do think it’s too sharp at 1.2…. I don’t know how they kept the bokeh as nice as they did. I think it’s missing a bit of the ef magic but now that I’m using it exclusively I do think it’s a better lens. I say that because the ef 1.2 is especially soft on the r5, more megapixel will show the flaws. I guess if I only needed a character lens the ef 85 1.2 is one of the best 85s ever for that
