- George Wagner, IV is standing trial for the April 2016 murders of eight members of the Rhoden and Gilley families. Wagner IV faces 22 counts including eight counts of aggravated murder with death penalty specifications, aggravated burglary, conspiracy, tampering with evidence and forgery.
Wagner’s brother, Edward “Jake” Wagner, and his mother, Angela Wagner, have already pleaded guilty to taking part in the conspiracy to murder the eight Rhoden and Gilley family members over their desire to obtain full custody of the then two-year-old daughter Jake shared with victim Hanna May Rhoden. Angela and Jake Wagner have agreed to testify against their family members.
George “Billy” Wagner, the father of Jake and George, faces the same 22 counts.
On the morning of April 22, 2016, family members found Chris Rhoden, Sr., 40, and his cousin, Gary Rhoden, 38, dead in Chris’ mobile home on Union Hill Rd. Chris Sr.’s ex-wife, Dana Manley Rhoden, 37, and their children, Hanna May Rhoden, 19, and Chris Rhoden Jr., 16, were found shot in the head in their sleep in their mobile home down the road. Hanna May had given birth days earlier to a baby girl who was not harmed. Clarence "Frankie" Rhoden, 20 and his fiancee, Hannah "Hazel" Gilley, 20, were also found shot to death in their sleep. Their six-month-old son was in between them covered in blood but unharmed. Frankie’s four-year-old son was unharmed in the home as well.
Kenneth Rhoden, 44, was found shot once in the eye in his camper on Left Fork Rd. more than seven miles away.
Angela Wagner’s mother, Rita Newcomb, pleaded guilty in 2019 to a misdemeanor count of obstruction. She had been charged with forgery and obstruction of justice for lying about signing and notarizing custody documents related to Hanna May, Jake and George’s children. Newcomb has agreed to testify against her family members.
Billy Wagner’s mother, Fredericka Wagner, was initially charged with obstruction of justice and forgery for allegedly lying about purchasing a bullet-resistant vest for Billy. The charges were dropped after it was discovered a plate in the vest was manufactured after the homicides. Prosecutors have said they may refile the charges at a later date. Fredericka has been subpoenaed to testify.

The Wagners did it so they could get custody of the young daughter Jake had with his ex Hanna Rhoden, prosecutors said. Jake indeed won sole custody of the child, now 8, after the murders. The Wagners moved to Alaska. That all changed after authorities arrested them in November 2018, sparking a legal battle lasting almost four years.

I feel the same way but I haven't watched every minute of the trial so I might have the wrong impression
The judge is not easy on the defense, he is maintaining the evidence and preventing a miss trial, trust me the defense is going to use every appeal that is allowed, so when it goes to the appellant courts, all the jury heard is what everyone else heard and not the "opinion" of what the state has transcribe, there is enough there that can be heard to realize that George was right there in the middle of it and not in no shape, form, or fashion trying to step away from the family.
These people were living in a bubble on a back road, Jake was watching too much walking dead and Angela is one evil piece of work ruling the roost, Billy sounds brain dead, in general they all talk too much, I felt sad the poor child calling her mommy in a truck full of deviants. GEORGE IS ONE OF THEM asking sophie did she not get a bath, he needs to change his waistcoat.
George's goose is cooked. His conduct on the wire tap recordings disproves Defence Counsel's opening statement.

I don't see how the state can decide what in a conversation is pertinent in the case. They are not the jury! The jury should be the one deciding if something is pertinent or not.

I think Jake was the main killer and maybe the only one with possibly exception, and that would have been the initial shot (maybe 2) to Chris Sr. Just my theory - that scene plan was already going awry, but there was no turning back at that point (it would be a situation of kill or be killed) and George was a much more skilled hunter to be able to make an accurate distance shot count.

I am glad someone is saying it. This special prosecutor is just bad. That horrible opening, rally set the stage. The state has shown ZERO evidence connecting George directly to the crime. The jury has to be board out their minds and simply lost. I absolutely believe he participated in these crimes from outside research. If the jury convicts him on this, and the state doesn't really tie this together at some point, the guy really got a raw deal. He might be guilty but the state evidence thus fair just does not prove it.
side note; I watch a lot of trials. Usually the defense attorneys are INSUFFERABLE! This is the only case I can think of that the defense attorneys are more likable than the prosecution.
@@katie5501 agree with you totally a lot of people just say all the other crap cause they think he is guilty but the jury don’t care what they think the jury need evidence and so far there is nothing that I can see that would convict just like Nik Cruz case the prosecution did not give all the evidence they took bibs and bobs and the jury in the end could not come up with a unanimous verdict I called that from Day 2

Too bad some of Jake’s recordings were not clearer. I wonder what Ohio laws are dealing with recording without the person’s knowledge. Jake was recording in Hannah’s dwelling not his own as well.
In Ohio only one party has to know the recording is going

I wish they would just get to the parts that tie George to this. It's like a trial for Jake and Angela and hasn't to date proved George had anything to do with it. Someone is not just guilty based on the association like they have tried to do so far. I don't trust Angela's or Jake's testimony as fact.
I wish the Judge who ruled over the Darrell Brooks case could have ruled over this one. She would have seen through the bull and time wasting antics of the defense.

As much as I want to see them all convicted, I in good conscious if I was a juror couldn't find George guilty based on the evidence presented so far.

The part where George is saying they didn’t do anything gives him a chance to tell his side of the story without having to get on the witness stand which is why the judge would not allow. This is very typical of court
@@pjhey947 the defense is just trying to get the tapes thrown out. Which he never will. He knows the law, he is just to see what he throws on the wall sticks. The Judge entertains too much of his BS.
George may not have pulled the trigger, but make no mistake he is as guilty as every member in family for the murders. Just like a driver to a bank robbery. He was there, the shoe prints prove it!

What's up my YTube family, anybody wanna go big and start a channel. Make clips and timestamps of these trials. You'll get plenty views as I watched 1.5 hours this morning but noway watched all 7 hours. I have no choice but to go with your judgment of what to edit out.

There's one of these bigger channels that's real funny about people clipping their stream and I think it's this one. It should be on a pool feed though. I think that's the way all trial footage goes. I'd be interested if you're serious about it. Nobody I know of does clips, It's either the whole trial or commentary that's more about the creator than the trial. I bet it would do well.
The Special Prosecutors and the State have made a fantastic and meticulously accurate case. The Forensic Audit serves much proof to purchases of items used in the crimes and ownership of same as well as proof to other charges. I refer a comparison to the extremely poor case that the Iowan Governor's AG Hughes brought against the wrongly convicted Todd Mullis.
I'm not seeing it. Meticulous yes but evidence to George not so much. It s like watching try the wagner family and not him.

@@judiashley5818 totally agree. The defence is doing a great job. Their cross on the forensic audit guy only proved that Jake and or Angela bought items related to the crime. They even proved one of the accounts that was supposed to be George’s was for a George Wagner 3rd, not 4th. I’m not saying George isn’t guilty but State have yet to prove it.
Mullis guilty as charged - no one falls on a cornrake and pulls it out only to fall on it again - 4 tines in a cornrake and she had 6 holes in her body showing the corn rake struck her twice - I'm just not buying that she fell on it twice 🙄🤔🙄🤔 George's quilt is more apparent in this case
