- Angela Wagner, one of the defendants charged with helping murder another family in Pike County, Ohio, over a custody dispute, is scheduled to appear in court on Friday. Two co-defendant relatives are on the record as agreeing to testify against her. Court is set to begin at 3 p.m. You can watch in the player above.
Wagner, her husband, George Wagner III, and their adult sons George Wagner IV and Edward “Jake” Wagner are accused of shooting and killing eight members of another family in four locations across Pike County: 38-year-old Dana Manley Rhoden, 40-year-old Christopher Rhoden Sr., 20-year-old Clarence “Frankie” Rhoden, 19-year-old Hanna May Rhoden, 16-year-old Christopher Rhoden Jr., 44-year-old Kenneth Rhoden, and 38-year-old Gary Rhoden. Clarence’s 20-year-old fiancée Hannah “Hazel” Gilley was also killed.

They shouldn’t have ever offered her a plea but she should have gotten life without a possibility of parole.
She's the worst of the bunch, whipping her family up to do murder so she, the controlling grandmother, could have full charge of the grandchild. Now she can sit in jail for the rest of her life thinking about how some stranger is raising her grandchild and she ruined her son's life.

Unfortunately since she did not plead guilty to actual murder, she does not have to do as much time. I think Jake took the hit for the family. Interesting to find out how many of them actually did the murders. Jake didnt pull it all off himself.
@@stevehorsley4205 5 of them walked into 4 different homes and opened fire. She not only purchased the supplies to build the silencers but made them and used them with Jake in the home to kill the mother of his child but 2 other people there.
I'm surprised. Before I watched I thought she was pleading guilty to avoid the death penalty and receive life without parole.
30 years? That 's not a plea deal, that's a sweetheart deal and gross INJUSTICE.

A whole family killed a whole family. As much as I’ve read and watched, I still cannot make sense of how something like this happens.
I can't either, makes me think they had to be on some serious drugs to do what they did. For all 4 to agree on this horrendous murder spree is unconceivable to me therefore I'm saying they all had to be wasted!!

I'm from Ohio, it was like a shock to the system when I heard about this. Problem is..,NOBODY WINS!!! And the poor little girl ,her moms family destroyed by her dad's family. Every part of this story is gut wrenching...When I pictured a newborn baby nursing its mom and the mom being shot several times in the face leaving this baby to someday know what happened this tragic day, it sickens me to the core. None of the Wagner's should ever get out of prison.

I read a WaPo article that had a lot of info. It said that Jake is the one that didn't want to go through with the plan but came back later and said let's do it. He should have listened to his first instincts.

This family personifies the concept of "Natural Born Killers." They were born to kill, and it makes sense because the mother who birthed them is the king pin who urged them to kill, which in my mind makes her the most culpable. And though I haven't heard her called this, I would say she's a 'mass murderer.' Why she only got thirty years is absurd, but she's not a spring chicken. I have a feeling she won't be popular in prison, which could be her death sentence. However, she needs to be watched by the prison system. If she has the ability to twist people's minds to do horrific crimes, the prison she's assigned to needs to watch her carefully, and not be taken in by her "good behavior. "Once a killer always a killer. Her polite "little" voice infuriates me. NOW, in court, she's all polite and "nice", when in fact she's a monster, no better than Ted Bundy or Jeffrey Dahmer. It boggles my mind that any one can be this unspeakably evil.

It's ultimately about Angela's obsession with controlling and exercising power over her own family while enjoying the power to end peoples lives by getting her family to do most all the physical dirty work while she stayed home calling on their cell phones creating alibis nothing to show for it except have control over a 2 year old baby whose mother, she had just had murdered! Why didn't Angela just give birth to her own children when she could? She was cleary obsessed with this baby of Hannah and Jake's, but why? Why was Angela Wagner obsessed with taking George's kid from that mother, even pulling a gun on the young mom.
I bet not once did they consider that when that child grows up and finds out that their family was killed over them, it is going to really make that child's life difficult.

According to the plea she will do every day of the 30 years and won't get any reduction of time.
Actually... she's already done almost 3 years...a year in prison is counted as 9 months not 12...so it really would be around 20 or so years

The victims were very young, only 16,19 and 20. Even the young children spared from the killings end up became orphans. Its a such tragic tale ..
they werent the only victims.
I truly believe that, if not for this evil women the 8 victims would be alive today. Not to diminish the actions of her husband and sons but, she was the mastermind. They all obeyed her to a fault. She should of gotten life without parole. It's a miscarriage of justice to those 8 victims. There is no other way to see it.

I used to live 30 miles from where this all took place. Ohio BCI and Pike counties law enforcement was baffled for so long over this. I'm glad to see some light was finally shed on these murders. It's still bazaar how 8 family members in 4 different locations was all murdered execution style in one night. They planned and planned this thru and thru and almost got away with it too.

The telling thing is….she had papers wrote up that she would get full custody if something happened to her sons. BCI had recordings played in court of her and hubby talking about taking the babies and leaving. A lot going on here. Riveting 🧐

There are "Son of Sam" laws that preclude a killer from profiting financially from their crimes and yet Jodi Arias made out like a bandit, selling her "sketches" (eBay) at least up until her conviction under her rights to give anything to anyone on the outside to sell.
I don't know if she's still permitted to do so but I've read she's reported to be worth between $1 & 5 million. It is hard to believe but she does have her supporters.

What a crashing bore. The judge muttered statute numbers and read statutes for over an hour while avoiding any clear statement of the horrors to which this alleged woman admits guilt.

According to the Sister of Wagner IV’s ex wife, Angela was the mastermind of all of this. She strong armed the ex wife into giving her custody of the child.
She forged the signature on "custody papers" she was a notary and lied and bullied that young girl. Then murdered her entire family to ensure her family would get custody of the baby. They're all sick.

There was never any doubt in my mind who started all this. No young footloose, single man wants custody of his baby that badly. It's the vicious controlling grandmothers who start the "unfit mother" rumors and work everyone up into thinking something like this has to be done.

I might be mistaken but I think they shot them firing squad style and all of them made contact with each body. However, I think they can charge all of them for all the murders based on the law regardless of if they each shot all 8.
I believe Jake has admitted to killing 5 of the 8 people when he took his plea bargin back in April.

Ohhhh yeah.. it’s very complex, but basically there was a custody battle between two young people, and I can’t remember if it was the moms family that killed the whole side of the dads family or visa versa. You can see a show on this case on ID Discovery channel, and maybe other networks.
@@tinydancer867 Angela Wagner is the mother of the baby daddy. It's the Wagner family members who killed all the Rhodens, including the baby's mother, so that they could have full custody of the child.
There is also a podcast called The Piketon Massacre that is a deep dive into this case.
There is no way these people committed this crime based solely on custody. Just like they meticulously planned these murders they planned in case they were caught. Th8s g9es soooooo much deeper than custody....The laws missed something here.

If you have watched the trial of the son you would see that this judge is very good. He is not Old! He probably had lots of experience
