+Lukes Aps: Hey man I have suggestion: Can you please at the end of the video just add a still photo of the painted/dipped stuff? It is really hard to see colours with your camera and light settings so just a quick photo at the end would make lots of people happy me thinks. :)
Wow found this channel a week ago and to say this channel is underrated is a understatement… this guy must save 100s of ppl thousands of £s /$s across the world everyday doin the vids he does so I wanna thank ya for that alone as iv learned a lot & saved alot in the last week of just watching your vids also I wanna say well done on all your hard work on your channel Mate keep it up buddy all the best✌️
I can't believe you didn't even mention the baby! I just watched this video right after a much newer one and the sound and picture quality have vastly improved! Thanks for all your awesome tips.
You could make a video about that adorable dachshund puppy. Great tutorial. Every video I watch from you has a great tutorial. Thanks for the time and effort you put into your channel.
Brilliant idea! I was in B 'n' M on Sunday buying other bits you have recommended. Will definitely give this a try. Just getting into the idea of dig washing but was put off by the price! Thanks Luke!
WarBoy do you thin your Minwax at all before dipping? I did a 3:1 Minwax to Spirits mix on the light (Pecan I think?) colored stain and it's okay, but a little lighter than I think I want. Definitely still takes 24+ hours to cure. I also picked up a slightly darker (walnut maybe?) shade of stain and I'm thinking about cutting it with the water and dish soap as Luke did in the video EDIT: although now that I've done a little thinking and research, the Minwax is oil-based and wouldn't thin the same way he does in the video
I put a tablespoon of spirits into the can and then stir it up well. Don't stir it too hard or it'll get bubbles. Pecan is very light so maybe you should try walnut. The more you mix it up the more pigment you get though!

Nice one Luke, had a go at this and I've gotta say results are just as good as the expensive stuff in a can. Certainly dries a lot faster and is matte, but I do wonder about losing the protection that the thick layer of the oil-based gloop gives you.
Great video Luke and another great idea, using fence stuff, best thing of course is not only the price and sheer volume compared to Army Painter stuff, but not having to use white spirits or turps. substitute to clean up with afterwards.
Tried looking for similar in Australia, bit more expensive here a 5L tub the cheapest I could find was $28 (about £17 but would have been more before the pounds recent drops) I guess it's still a lot cheaper than army painter dips that are $40-50 for 250 ml
I noticed in one of the comments that someone mentioned about other colours, but specifically reds. So wondered if this might work for them? - B&Q currently have Timbercare Fence, Shed & Wood paint in Red Cedar on clearance at £2 for 9000ml !!! Hope that might help 🙂
Daniel Stone . Yoo hoo, I'm free Danny boy, you sound like you love the boys. Me name is Daniel Stone come feel me bone it tall n mighty like big bamboo an when a put it to you you'll scream my name etc etc. One of the few gay reggae records by "Daniel stone and the batty men" taken from the album "Stone cold skank" on Big Puff records. Of course your're probably another gay man that happens to have the same name or you might be a fan and just use his name to pay homage.
Hi Luke. Love the channel; been getting loads of tips from and looking forward to show-casing some of them in our games. I'm guessing I could use this dip wash as a standard brush-on wash for something as big as a board base?
Will have to give this a try. The Army Painter stuff has a strong oder which does not agree with my better half. What's the oder like on this stuff given its water based?
question: how to paint red chaos space marine armour with mephiston red, bulb oil, retributer armour, the bronzy gold colour thing can't remember it's name
+Djpiper28 . Before i approach the pharcyde i first prepare myself with a good Sativa that works perfectly when you want that cerebal input. Either a Sativa dominant hybrid or a classic like super silver haze or one of the other Haze's will do it.I never rush, i wait until i've got my third eye. Then i'll colour the thrutch plate using manuka oil . I use mestopholine scarlet and for the old arbitrator armour i use a mix of antique brass and copper. Works for me our kid.
Hey Luke. I love your videos. But I have to ask... Are you sure that Shed and Fence Timbercare paint isn't poisonous??? I used to work with paints (in Denmark) and most paints for fences and sheds, even waterbased ones, include fungicide which is poisonous. Even when dry it will continue to be poisonous to humans and can make you ill. Sorry to cause a fuss, but unfortunately they don't have any product information online, and living in Denmark I can't go check... So I hope I am wrong and that it is free of any fungicides.
Hi Dforge In the UK wood stains, Wood Protector and Shed & Fence timbercare contain a borate fungicide. This is a natural borate mineral salt. This natural form of boron is actually good for plants and harmless to people and animals. This borate is less dangerous for humans & animals than table salt, but effective against fungi and insects.
The Turner and Gray? It's not actually a paint but a wood stain, it doesn't appear to be for sale in B&M anymore but they do have an alternative under the brandname Spear and Jackson, unfortunately though that's going for £9.99 as opposed to £2.99 and it's also 9ltr instead of 5ltr but if you shop around you may find cheaper wood stains in your local shops, you'll also find plenty of colour variations depending on what you want to use it for. Hope this helps.
What's the last product you added to that? Ferro liquids? I'm currently using the Army Painter Quickshade to do a bunch of zombies and I have a bunch more coming sometime in the near future, I'm pretty sure I will run out of the can of Quickshade I have before to long and if I can make it on the cheap that would be great!

Even if I'm not going to use the methods you show in a video, I always enjoy watching your videos. Keep up the great work :)

I dip mine in Minwax Polyshades. They've got pecan for light, tudor for dark, and antique walnut for a medium tone.
WarBoy do you thin your Minwax at all before dipping?

24-48 hours make sure it's not sticky at all!
Thanks for the tip! Awesome. Going to try it myself 😉 -your puppy is soooo cute bro, lovin on ya 😊
Thanks for the mention brother!! Appreciate it

always look forward to your videos fella congratulations on getting 1000 subscribers well deserved
Army Painter stuff is a polymer based. It dries to a hard shell. Not sure if your thing is a polymer. its more acrylic in my opinion but still useful.
Nice one Luke, had a go at this and I've gotta say results are just as good as the expensive stuff in a can. Certainly dries a lot faster and is matte, but I do wonder about losing the protection that the thick layer of the oil-based gloop gives you.

You have given me alot of awsome tips mate, i thank you! ;-)

Lukes Aps Dachshund! We have two!
..and will the dog EVER be able to squeeze himself through the hole of your earlobe...
What would this stuff be in the United States? And where to get it? All the stains I found at the hardware store were VERY expensive.
I love the doggo :D
I'd love to know a good canadian version of that bucket....I use minwax polyshades but i'd love a cheaper larger alternative for making the washes...
thanks great job
This is great! Do you reckon you could add Matt medium to make a more standard brush on wash?
What was the stuff you added in at 4:26, I couldn't understand what you said and the bottle is covered up? Can't wait to try it, looks awesome.
9:21 cute doggy noises.

7:30 I see you have Ikea display cabinets as well. I'm about to buy my second one! Too much stuff that needs to be on display!
So can I use this as an alternative to Agrax Earthshade on my minis? Will save me a fortune if yes!
Check out his videos on making your own agrax. Its simple and has great results.

@@SteampunkPrincess72 Good to hear. Thanks for clarification 😊👍
@lukeaps. Hi, is it possible to colours it yourself cause i can only find transparent oil for a reasonable Price in My country?
Can somebody please tell me what kind of paint that is?! We don't have the brand in Germany and I can't find the product specifications.
