  • This body has been grainfilled and under coated. The bindings have been taped and then it was ready for color. this is nitrocellulose lacquer. A bright white for the sides and white blonde for the face and back. The next day, the the bindings are unmasked and detailed then it will get a clear nitrocellulose topcoat.

Hey Jay! What's the difference between the white that goes in the white blonde paint and the "basecoat white" you always use? Or the difference is just that white blonde is the same white but with more clear lacquer mixed in?

Hey Jay, I have a question. I’ve heard you say the bodies are prepped by the sanding department and then sprayed with lacquer as the base. On alder bodies, are they using a lacquer based filler or just spraying normal clear nitro lacquer. I’m trying to have a sort of finish sunken into the grain look and i realize alder isn’t as porous as ash. I stayed glued to your channel and i really appreciate you, your work, and your videos. God bless from Arkansas.

Man this is my favorite finish. What color was in the second cup you sprayed?
