I've not seen many reissues in Sea Foam green, mostly Surf green. Sea Foam looks more 50's to me, Surf is more like mint ice cream- but lighting and monitor settings can make a big difference.....
@@JNcolor I've got to give a big thank you to Fender for Miami blue, there's a Strat in Tony Bacon's The Ultimate Guitar Book, an L-series I believe, like Daphne blue but darker and non metallic so I could never find a name for it. Didn't seem to match up with any of the known custom colors. 👍
You were awesome ! what a set up. I always preferred sea Foam green , and the burst may of looked cool on the video in person I would not like it my self / loved watching you do your thing
Would be nice to see Fender experiment more with their burst options - this looked pretty cool! So what was it about that body that made it scrap? Was it cracked, broken, etc?
Hi Jay, thanks for the videos. Any chance you could load up all your past ones and the ones from you social media sites to RUclips please? Great reference material! Cheers old chap.
Hi. There is no pat answer to this question. Each color is different in how it covers the wood. Some are stronger than other. The sea foam green that Fender uses is a strong color that only takes two coats to cover. That will vary between paint manufacturers.
@@JNcolor thanks for the reply. An example of what your saying would be the Am Pro II Dark Night? yes? What about a bright red in the middle with black at the outside?
@@blop1738 right but you see that I'm spraying it. I didn't switch guns and start spraying Daphne Blue... Maybe I'm not quite understanding what you mean. It could also be my phone camera distorted the color.
@@JNcolor Sincerly I didn't pay attention if you switched the gun or not, but IMHO that first layer is definately light blue, not seafoam green. Maybe it's your phone camera yes. However, it seems you switched the gun - or maybe the can of the varnish - at the minute 1:19
Was I not SUPPOSED to like the two-tone surf/sea-foam burst? Because I did...!
Ops i did so too 😂😂
So did I!
The first layer of large and light burst was GREAT !!!
Jay, please do the same with arctic white/olympic/vintage white! Also, that seafoam/surf green burst wasn't too bad of an idea.
Ok.
I just remembered that I did a Olympic White with a vintage white burst. I posted it on Instagram. I'll have to see if I still have a video somewhere.
Best Surf Green and Seafoam green comparison ever!
Many thanks
So quick, and professional. Nice!
I love the 2 colors together!!! Sooooo exclusive!
Camp Surf Green here. My all time fav Fender color. I even ordered the Surf Green Fender cable to match my CS61, love it!!!
Fabulous... All in on the surf green
Sea Foam green for me...! Have 2 of them. Thx for the comparison. Like your setup :>)
Surf Green is a fantastic finish, I do love the burst idea.
Yeah, it's a popular color. I think I should make another video without all this monkey business.

@@stevem.1853 In the custom shop where I am things are a bit different. I spray a good amount of sea foam bodies.

@@stevem.1853 Taos Turquoise is a possibility. It has been around for a long time. Miami blue is a great color but is relatively new.
Nice video. I can smell it from here!

That helped me out big time! Just got a Miami Blue Strat. Seafoam green for my next Strat it is.
Absolutely pissing it down outside.

I forgot on this one. I've had it for quite a while. Probably bad routes or measurements.
My favorite color 💚
A white, surf and sea foam 3 color burst would be very cool

Good idea. I'll work on that
I would actually love a surf green sea foam burst hahah
Hello Mr. Nelson, how many coats of seafoam green do you spray on a guitar?

Kool Minty Jay
Foam green over surf green any day :)
Thanks for the video. Would you mind sharing the paint code for the seafoam green you used in this video? Thanks.
I don't have a paint code. These fender colors are made for us.
Can I get one half way between Seafoam and Surf?
Easy as pje
Surf Green perfect
Do you have any surf green bodies for sale? Hell I’d even buy this
No, sorry. I don't
Can you do a red to black burst?
Technically yes, it could be done. But, most of the time a burst that has a lighter color going into a darker color doesn't look that good.

@@FrederickGlazier Sure that could be done
I kinda like it, but I own a shell pink American original 60’s strat…….
Olá Jay Nelson, Nitro ?
Yes, it is Nitrocellulose lacquer
I dig it
What about sonic blue
instagram.com/jncolor/tv/CXOHTBPF7si/?
What color is that? It seams *Sea foam green* 4:42 / ON *Daphne Blue* 0:52 / on *White* 0:03
It is white to start with. Then Sea Foam green. I did not spray any Daphne Blue on this one.
@@JNcolor the one at the minute 0:30 looks light blue a-la Daphne blue; pretty lighter - and greenless - than sea foam green to me
