Hey Jay, just stopping by to let you know your vids have been a huge help for me. Thanks to you, I sprayed my first sunburst today, two tone strat. And it came out very well. No issues whatsoever. Had to mix my own dark Salem type color, since I couldn't find a specific recipe. But I managed to hit the nail on the head. Luckily.. lol. Thanks for putting out these videos! I really enjoy them. It's a great feeling to do a good spray job haha. Hope you're well. Happy holidays
Exact. My 12 year Ash is naturally aged. But I didn't use tint, the secret is no sealer and apply waterbased acrylic house paint heavily thinned and rub in. The grain pops and does the work, rub in with 2000 wet and dry sandpaper for desired colour. Then clear. Great tip, ages quick especially with nitro.
Hey Jay, this is Mark from Remarkable Refinishing, an Instagram Follower of yours. Love your Vids, I’d like to see your RUclips Channel start booming... You’re one bad man with a spray gun in your hand 🤚!!! Lol... Rock On, Buddy!!!
Hello friend, I have a couple of doubts, I want to do this finish but I am from Mexico and the nitrocellulose options are very few. I was thinking of buying some transparent gloss nitrocellulose lacquer and adding paint. Would you recommend first applying a primer before what I plan to do? ? Then once the transparent lacquer with color has been applied, apply some gloss finish or something?
Hey Jay, is there a particular color in the white blonde that distinguishes it from regular white? What colors make up the ageing juice? Throw me a bone please! 🙏 Love your work
Hi Jay, really useful video. I want to recreate the same finish. I know you mentioned you grain filled in other comments. Do you use sealer on the wood first and then grain fill followed by paint?
Hi Jay! Is this a raw body? Has it been grain filled or no? Is grain filling needed on all see through finishes? Do you do that or do you just do the color shooting? Thanks, sorry for the multiple questions.
That looks so damn good!
