Finally a controller that have on-board calibration software. I hate having to calibrate 1 controller to several PC just because it drift a little. Thank You Turtle Beach.
I preordered this and kept checking daily for you to come out with a review. I have been using the Vader 3 Pro since your review due to the Hall effect sticks. I’m glad to see TB decided to go that route. Hopefully Xbox will follow suit with the Elites. I’m Tired of spending $200 on stick drift happy “pro” and elite controllers.
Love the recognition here! Just wanted to ask what your warranty is regarding this controller. I’m REALLY interested in purchasing, but I’m afraid there are too many reviews from Best Buy and other websites, stating that the anti-friction rings are causing a groove to wear into the sticks. About half of the reviews mentioned this and the other half didn’t. QC issue, perhaps? Please let us know! I’d hate to spend $200 on a controller only to have to turn around and wait a month for a new one to be shipped back to me after repairs.
I've been highly anticipating this video from you since it was revealed two weeks ago. I'm glad this controller is good. Just ordered it on Amazon 5 minutes ago
I really appreciate the attempt from Turtle Beach to make some decent premium peripherals on console, and specifically for Xbox. I think this looks phenomenal, and I have high expectations for mine when it arrives. I don't think the Stealth Pro headset was exactly a home run, but it's been the best headset I've used for console in terms of incoming sound and comfort. I really hope they continue these product lines. I think their lower-end stuff is all passable, but wholly unremarkable, but these last couple products have shown serious promise IMO.
Awesome review as always. I had this preordered and they shipped it 7 days early. I got it on Sunday and it's better than I ever imagined it would be. As you said the only real issue is the PC app needs improved but man I love the side by side back buttons and that D-Pad is amazing on SF6 and MK1. I can't wait for Tekken 8 for this beast.
Thanks for the review ! I think one thing that could improve your tests is using an input display in the dpad section to check if hitting diagonals actually work as you want it to. Some dpads trick you into thinking they can diagonal when they actually can't (like the Firefly controller - at least the one I've got)
That’s a great recommendation, and one I don’t think I’ve heard. I will do this from now on, unless I forget but I’m writing it down in my review guide

After having such a bad experience with the elite series 2 from Microsoft I might be picking this controller up. I sent my elite 2 to get fixed within the warranty and it was returned to me even more broken. The mechanical Face buttons on this controller has me excited. The only thing missing is the ability to increase the tension on the right thumb stick. Great review. Thank you!

I think the social feature was silly as well, but then thought it would be amazing if the controller could connect to someone’s stream. Imagine being on twitch and gaming, and getting the notification of a new follower directly onto your controller.
There was a time when I’d never have considered a third part controller, but after using both of the Turtle Beach flight sticks I’m all in on this those flight sticks are really nice to use.
Thanks for the review Kevin. Just placed my order. It nearly has all of my features I’m looking for: Hall sticks, mechanical buttons, bumpers, trigger stops, mappable 4 rear buttons. Would have been nice if it had mouse click triggers, but idk if anyone will make a controllers with all those features for a reasonable price. Thanks for all your controller review videos. If I could make one request, can you please demonstrate how noisy each of the buttons are. I know you kind of do that throughout the video, but a quick presentation of all of them in succession would be awesome, and greatly appreciated. 🙏
The review we have all been waiting for! They should of allowed RGB of the actual Xbox button (unless I missed that) I hope their controller is a lot better built than their headset that broke on me about a week ago; although I was using the Stealth 7s so it is what it is.
I appreciate your honesty about the TB "sponsorship" nature of this review, the controller looks very cheap in construction and materials, I don't know why you said the d-pad is made from aluminium when it's plastic! It's like TB cut corners wherever they could and still kept a premium price tag. One is basically paying for the hall effect sticks, the screen and all the cool connectivity. Can't wait to try it myself.
The one thing that tickles my brain in a bad way is the "antidrift" lettering..... I don't need to be reminded of the features they should speak for themselves
@GamerHeavenOfficial I really wish RUclips would allow gifs..... Dwight crying and saying thank you seems really apt right about meow. Electronics come pretty intuitively to me, and I'm very thorough with researching / learning/ playing with things... I dont think I've ever seen a channel dive in the way you have. And the wildly inappropriate jokes...... Top Shelf work. I was thinking of getting my 2 wildlings these for Christmas, but I was concerned about the durability and overall value for the cost. Please help a fella out 😭
Just for that ball-gaze callback, on top of all of the premium content you've been putting out (Aurora R12 owner here), you got a like and sub from me. Fuuuuck, school was so long ago 😅
@xXTheUknownClassXx you might need to do a short video saying " I am not Gamer Heaven but I do have a backwall with controllers thanks to watching his review videos." 😂

Just received my Gamesir T4 Cyclone Pro yesterday and was quite disappointed with the face-buttons, but it seemed like the best wireless option for me, at time of ordering. If the face-buttons were better and it had 4 rear buttons, it would be near perfect for me. However, this controller! Seems like the one I've been waiting for! The rear button layout seem perfect to me! Gonna pre-order it immediately.
😂😂😂 they trying to get buck great video mane you always killing it with the reviews keep up the amazing work 👍🤠. I like the controller I'm getting me one and my platform is Xbox and I play with a sucf inst pro controller and it's nice 💯
Great looking controller by Turtle Beach. I have been thinking it would be cool if they also started releasing controllers under the Roccat brand since they acquired them. Could have some good styling to match some of their gaming mouse designs.
turtle beach will most likely make a PS version and will prob improve on it.... for example actual thumbsticks that swap out instead of those silly caps
I've been patiently waiting for this review once this controller was announced. Unfortunately, not being able to map R3 and L3 to the rear buttons is a deal breaker for me. Those are two of the buttons I primarily use on a controller with rear paddles/buttons. I hope they can add this functionality in a firmware update and then I can consider this controller.
Hope it lived up to the suspense. Yeah that should be an option for the rear bindings, I personally would never waste my rear button bindings on the thumb clicks considering you’re already covering them and can easily click down, I’ve never actually gotten wanting to bind that particular function but to each his/her own and yeah TB should add stick clicks to the binding options (hopefully with an updated possible)
@@GamerHeavenOfficial I see what you mean about your finger being on the button already. The original reason I started to map them to the back was to help "save" the thumb sticks from overuse. I've had a lot of issues with stick drift in the past and believed the less I man handled them, the less likely they were to fail. Also felt like clicking in the right thumb stick while I was aiming was messing up my accuracy. I got so used to it over the past 2 years, at this point it's hard to imagine not having sprint, crouch, and jump on the back buttons. 🙂
My pleasure. That is an extremely hard comparison is they are both fantastic controllers. Well the turtle beach is about $40 more expensive, that’s my personal choice over the elite 2(which I love)
@@GamerHeavenOfficial lol I was finally set to go with some Christmas money on a controller to get, then this one comes along, 🤤, lol, thanks for all you do in this space Bud, you da man!
Another super-helpful review - thanks! I'll be buying one. Currently use an Elite 2 on my Series X and and GameSir G7SE on my Series S, but I liked the TB Recon - aside from some rough textures on the triggers.
As always, great review. Let me start with me, me being someone who has to change controllers every 3/4 mths with stick stick/drift. Can't be without a good working controller so I genuinely have to purchase the next controller as I open a new controller(limited movement /feeling left thumb). Hall effect make this desirable and maybe persuade me out off budget controllers because I really really think this is "SICK"!!! Currently using G7se which is approaching 4 mths faultless use((👌) in possession of day after your review but put it in the queue) and unknown user time. I will wait off and see how these 2 controllers pan out because turtle beachs audio suit is another big plus for me(limited hearing range) having used both variants for less than 3 mths each. Hoping the sticks give this that something that makes it viable to me. Thanks for sharing Keven... "👍"...
So this does connect to Xbox PC dongle and no need to use the Turtle Dongle? Why I am talking about turtle dongles....Anyway, nice to see review of this controller and I am HAPPY it is here. Finally some true competition for Elite Series 2 that lasts barely 2 years.
Correct. I’ll cover that topic in a little more detail in my follow-up video which will probably be in a few weeks because I plan on using nothing but this controller on Xbox and pc
Thanks for the review!! The rear buttons are a deal breaker for me. I like the Elite paddles for games like COD. I feel like the TB would be a pain rocking one finger for two rear buttons 🤷♂️
@@kenzilbaptiste2519 👀 you gotta learn the ways if your playing COD competitively. Sprint/crouch on one side and action/reload on the other. Your fingers never come off the sticks.
I been using paddles since xbox 360 scuff but only 2 A & B for jumping n sliding but this controller seems easier using 4 back buttons for bigger hands
@@goatbebryant4915 yeah you can definitely do damage with just 2 buttons! Dang, I didn’t know the paddles have been out that long. I didn’t get onto paddles until the Elite 1 in 2015.
I would totally buy this if it had triggers like the scuf instinct pro and had sticks that would work with kontrol freaks. It’s hard to go back to trigger stops after having a mouse click triggers, not that there’s a huge difference.
This thing looks sick! I loved the Elite 2, and never had a single problem with mine, and I’m glad to see they headed in that direction. I think the paddles will forever be my favorite, they were just more accessible and quicker imo, I’ve tried button style “paddles” before but they just weren’t the same. Also, the no swappable sticks is kind of a bummer, another pro for the Elite 2, the magnetic connection and different options for different types of games. Without holding it in my hand, and going based on visual. The Elite 2 still seems to be more elite and built better(in my opinion and for my liking) BUT those that like screens are going to go bananas because it does look awesome. Hell I may even buy it. Would’ve like to have seen it slightly cheaper than the Elite 2.
I fully understand, if you prefer paddles rear buttons just don’t hit the same. I will be doing side-by-side comparison with the elite two very soon, and I’m sure they will be neck and neck as they are both some of my favorite Xbox controllers
I didn't know this was out. If this was out for PS4/PS5, and thus had a touchscreen. And those back buttons were paddles, I'd have to seriously consider it even though I have the Dualsense Edge
there are a lot of things I like about the Edge, but as a woman with medium-sized hands I find it to be the least ergonomic controller that I regularly use. it might be more comfortable if I had smaller hands though.
Thanks for the great review! I really want this controller but I love my kontrol freeks & it seems like it might not be ideal to use with this controller. You said the xbox one kontrol freek slides a bit… do you think it would slide around while playing? Or could this be a deal breaker for me? I mostly play FPS. Thank you!
My issue with Turtle Beach controllers has been the quality, I've had two Recons and both had died quickly developing either sound issues or disconnection issues. The sound issues have rendered them useless as the flaw is that the sound doesn'tjust die, it makes noise several times louder than the sound level which I fear could cause hearing damage.
Same as you, just wait for the Gullikit KK3 at the end of December. It has 4 magnetics paddles like the Elite and 1000hz polling rate. By the way, great review GamerHeaven ❤
@@4TheCosplayers_YTB im here to burst your bubble ...that controller is listed for android ...pc switch and windows ... no mechanical bumpers either ... so its an L if you're an xbox gamer .. hell the button layout is for the nintendo switch lol
@@4TheCosplayers_YTB aye yo thanks so much for putting me on to this controller it looks to be just what I'm looking for! It would be a dream if the back paddles are compatible with the scuf paddles for the series 2 but if not this is still looking to be a suitable upgrade.
@@j1nftw1n You're welcome friend. Yeah unfortunatly it's more like the paddle system of the Dualsense Edge so no compatibility with the Scuf paddles. Wait at the end of December for the reviews, and I'm pretty sure Gamer Heaven will make one 🙂
@1:12 you can tell which one is the elite series.. waiting on my turtle beach controller to arrive.. but the elite series will remain king atm.. it looks so good and plays prefect
Really wish this had mouse click trigger stops. It’s just about the only missing feature I care about, other than Razer’s third shoulder button placement.
nice review man, was waiting for this. arriving on saturday so I hope my hands like the ergonomics. could you do an update on the nacon revolution pro 5 & comparion with BFG? cheers mate ;)
Had it preordered for about a week now and between the Envision and this I better be goated at games now 🤣 Sucks about the swappable sticks automatically assumed it was and then the KontrolFreeks don’t fit either. Super odd, but I’m excited to get my hands on it.
A bit of a request for your reviews: could you speak to the actuation force or pivot length of the dpad? For instance there's a big difference in the feel of the Flydigi dpads like the Vader 3 Pro versus something like the Scuf Envision Pro, where the former feels taller, looser but with easier actuation and the latter is shallow and harder to actuate. Curious how this one compares!
Hey Captain - looks like feedback on social media is that there are serious quality control issues with the controller - have you experienced anything sub par at all? - reports of connection issues and left stick grinding after very little use
hey there, captain! were you able to get this bad boy to the steam deck at all? and I assume like most non-Elite and non-Edge controllers that you can’t map inside Steam? does their remapping software allow chording (multiple button presses at once)? thanks!
I got this for Christmas and ended up returning it. I had two major issues with this controller. The first was I hated the bumpers, they felt kind of mushy and I really didn't like clicking them and the angle was weird for me. I tried playing Lies of P with it and just hated the feeling of attacking. The other thing that was an issue for me, but some people might love is the joysticks. They are pretty much exactly the Xbox 360 ones and I really need ones with more side grip like the PS4/PS5 and Xbox controllers have, but I know a lot of people think the 360 controller is the best ever made and they will love it. If this controller had the GameSir G7 joysticks and bumpers it would be my favorite controller ever made, but it just wasn't good enough for me at $200.
I really want a wired mechanical & micro-switch controller with a built-in quality headphone DAC/AMP, with HQ stereo 32bit/384kHz PCM and a 1-600Ohm HP-AMP, man that would be sweet, mechanical buttons, 8-way micro-switch D-Pad, 1000hz optical-analogue-mechanical-sticks with touchpad tops (great for ultra accurate aiming), a touch-sensitive built-in 3.5-4" 4:3 OLED, which would be amazing for trainers, loadouts, maps, music, walkthroughs, videos, huds (no need for risking burn-in on your gaming OLED display with huds on the screen), quick macros for reloading, weapon selection, many other custom features for video games, would also be amazing for playing DS/3DS/arcade/RTS/management games.
Thank you so much for coming out with this review!

I hope their controller is a lot better built than their headset that broke on me about a week ago; although I was using the Stealth 7s so it is what it is.
No you didn’t miss it, that would be really cool! Damn sorry to hear that about your headset
I've had it for a few days and I love the controller. I wish the paddles had a shift function like the Elite Series 2 though.
Turtle Beach is swinging for the fences on all their flagship products and I'm VERY happy!
Now I want brushed aluminum shoulder and trigger buttons!
No controller reviewer out there like you, appreciate the work!
I appreciate that!
Mate....ive never seen your channel.....safe to say its my new favorite 😂😂 this is brilliant
Welcome aboard!
Please help a fella out 😭
I got mine this past Sunday and it by far my favorite controller I've used. The D pad is next level for fighting games.
Are the face buttons easy to slide over when pulling off combos? Soft eges or hard edges?
Just for that ball-gaze callback, on top of all of the premium content you've been putting out (Aurora R12 owner here), you got a like and sub from me.
Fuuuuck, school was so long ago 😅
I wasn't in the market for a controller but I might be now 😅
😂 oh geez, that’s how it always goes
Recognize that. Have bought 8 in the last 3 months alone. 90% is probably because of that dude who talks so much 😅@@xXTheUknownClassXx
@xXTheUknownClassXx you might need to do a short video saying " I am not Gamer Heaven but I do have a backwall with controllers thanks to watching his review videos." 😂
Great review, man. I was hoping it’s good and I’m not disappointed. 🤘
Love to hear that
"...grab a snack, crack a brew. If you're sober, grab a soda instead..." hahahahaah!!!! "now if you pop this box from the side moderately damaging it..." lol I fucking love this guy. Dude is so real. I love his style of reviewing. Perfect personality....
Thanks for the ring light review, I’ve been watching all your videos waiting for it!
lol
Nice controller, the worst thing about it is the very limited polling rate, specially for the heavy price.
Always a chuckle, alongside a quality review!
Thank you kindly!
@@GamerHeavenOfficial my stealth is coming tomorrow, can’t wait!
Thanks for sharing your experience
Love your videos!
Since grabbing a Nacon controller ive never needed a different one thanks to you.
I've been waiting for this one. Great Review thanks
Hope you enjoy it!
Man my friends annoy me because of the amount of controllers I have. But this guy... DAAMN!!!!
Bro is so good at his craft this he stopped in the middle of his review to review a Ring Light. He had Time TODAY 😂
😂, thank you Salvy I appreciate that
😂😂😂 they trying to get buck great video mane you always killing it with the reviews keep up the amazing work 👍🤠. I like the controller I'm getting me one and my platform is Xbox and I play with a sucf inst pro controller and it's nice 💯
Thank you so much
Literally been waiting 😂 knew you would get it
I had weird setup issues but I got thru and now it's my favorite controller
I love the back paddles
Great looking controller by Turtle Beach. I have been thinking it would be cool if they also started releasing controllers under the Roccat brand since they acquired them. Could have some good styling to match some of their gaming mouse designs.
Don’t have an Xbox but this controller seems very interesting and your reviews are awesome
turtle beach will most likely make a PS version and will prob improve on it.... for example actual thumbsticks that swap out instead of those silly caps
It is pretty cool, and thank you
I've been patiently waiting for this review once this controller was announced. Unfortunately, not being able to map R3 and L3 to the rear buttons is a deal breaker for me. Those are two of the buttons I primarily use on a controller with rear paddles/buttons. I hope they can add this functionality in a firmware update and then I can consider this controller.
Wait whaaaat…? That’s pretty much all I need to remap… umm…
Ya, that changes my view on this one too… did you see that in another review or where?
Well, I can’t go spending $200 for this just to “wait” for a firmware update… dang…
Thx so much man. I have an Elite 2 in a cart, but now I have a decision to make, lol 🤘🏻
@@GamerHeavenOfficial Excellent. Keep up the good work! :)
Thanks for the review!! The rear buttons are a deal breaker for me. I like the Elite paddles for games like COD. I feel like the TB would be a pain rocking one finger for two rear buttons 🤷♂️
lol there is no real reason to be using 2 buttons from left or right hand at the same time under your controller
@@kenzilbaptiste2519 👀 you gotta learn the ways if your playing COD competitively. Sprint/crouch on one side and action/reload on the other. Your fingers never come off the sticks.
I’m the same way can’t move on from the elite paddles for cod
I been using paddles since xbox 360 scuff but only 2 A & B for jumping n sliding but this controller seems easier using 4 back buttons for bigger hands
@@goatbebryant4915 yeah you can definitely do damage with just 2 buttons! Dang, I didn’t know the paddles have been out that long. I didn’t get onto paddles until the Elite 1 in 2015.
Bro this controller actually looks sick af! If Microsoft actually put out these for a controller refresh so many people would actually buy them.
Better/swappable thumbsticks feel needed at this point especially for $200, also we have to move past the 250hz locked polling rates!
Both facts
Hard pass for me because of this. Elite 2 is still King.
I would totally buy this if it had triggers like the scuf instinct pro and had sticks that would work with kontrol freaks. It’s hard to go back to trigger stops after having a mouse click triggers, not that there’s a huge difference.
oh my god kevin i have been eagerly waiting for this
Great review got mine coming friday 👍👍
Enjoy it
I love scuff, but after a year sick drift hits hard. I'll try the new TB.
Just bought this tonight. Can confirm the app on Xbox updates quick.
Might have to try this one out. We’ll see if it can dethrone the gambit 👑
i'm good with my t4k for now but will be waiting for your review of the next gulikit controller.
You got it Snooz
I didn't know this was out. If this was out for PS4/PS5, and thus had a touchscreen. And those back buttons were paddles, I'd have to seriously consider it even though I have the Dualsense Edge
What do u think about the edge ? I bought it today… is uncomfortable for small hands ?
there are a lot of things I like about the Edge, but as a woman with medium-sized hands I find it to be the least ergonomic controller that I regularly use.
it might be more comfortable if I had smaller hands though.
Thank you!
My pleasure . The Xbox ones are totally acceptable, they don’t rotate hardly at all playing, only when you give them the ol pinch n twist
Thank you for sharing this experience, I hadn’t heard of this issue before but that definitely sounds like some BS to deal with.
I just want a controller with higher pollling rate than the elite series 2 but with the back paddle comfort and ergonomics as the elite series 2
@@kenzilbaptiste2519 Bumper you mean LB/RB ?That's not a huge deal if their not mechanicals, I prefer the X/B/Y/A to be clicky 🙂
Same
Best controller I've ever had..... BUY IT! I own the elite 2 POS ... This controller is awesome.
nice review man, was waiting for this. arriving on saturday so I hope my hands like the ergonomics.
could you do an update on the nacon revolution pro 5 & comparion with BFG? cheers mate ;)
I can set that up
Had it preordered for about a week now and between the Envision and this I better be goated at games now 🤣 Sucks about the swappable sticks automatically assumed it was and then the KontrolFreeks don’t fit either. Super odd, but I’m excited to get my hands on it.
Dude you are going to have 2 solid gamepads! Yeah that is kinda wack. Hope you enjoy it when it arrives
@@GamerHeavenOfficial Solid vid btw you’re the goat of controller reviews 🫡 Also your 👌🏽was above the waist so it doesn’t count 😂
I got mine and its amazing!! I also own 10 controllers and by far the best.
Sorry also you did not mention the usb dongle plugs in the charging base so you can just leave base plugged in. Im on PC.
I actually didn’t figure that out until about an hour ago 😂, it’s pretty convenient.
Is it better for FPS than the Thrustmaster eswap? I bought the eswap this weeks and my K/D ratio skyrocketed in a good way.
I like it. If I didn't already have an Elite Series 2 I'd consider it.
How is the elite series 2 going for you? Any stick drift and how long have you had it for ?
This controller is a BEAUTY
It is
A bit of a request for your reviews: could you speak to the actuation force or pivot length of the dpad? For instance there's a big difference in the feel of the Flydigi dpads like the Vader 3 Pro versus something like the Scuf Envision Pro, where the former feels taller, looser but with easier actuation and the latter is shallow and harder to actuate. Curious how this one compares!
Yes 👍🏼
Hey Captain - looks like feedback on social media is that there are serious quality control issues with the controller - have you experienced anything sub par at all? - reports of connection issues and left stick grinding after very little use
hey there, captain! were you able to get this bad boy to the steam deck at all?
and I assume like most non-Elite and non-Edge controllers that you can’t map inside Steam? does their remapping software allow chording (multiple button presses at once)?
thanks!
No I still can’t connect to the steam deck
Thanks captain, just pre ordered
You’re welcome CDJ
Awesome review as usual! Mine is in the mail. I just had 1 question that I didn't see in your vid, can you snap kontrol freeks onto these thumbsticks?
The Xbox ones fit but are a little loose
