Got this free from amazon, and I have had the Kishi and the Gamesir x3 and this one is easily the best mobile controller I have ever had. Actually crazy impressive
Great and thorough review! I ordered it as the gamesir x2 pro was pretty great but it did feel like holding a brick. The Galileo looks a lot more comfortable and the hall effect+headphone jack is a great addition. Will have to buy a case for this though, was hoping it'd be bundled in like the gamesir x2 pro did.
Finally a RUclipsr that speaks the truth about this controller, your the only one that mentioned the modes for the controller. Therefore, it works with COD mobile, I'd assume PS mode would work as it would be picked up as a Dualshock 4 or Dualsense on COD mobile. Every other RUclipsr I watched didn't mention them at all. Thank you
Been waiting patiently for you to drop this review. Xbox side of the house and android user. Going to mention that I nearly lost my left thumb when younger which left me with limited movement and no feelings in the end/tip all around the nail area. When it comes to game pads they last between 3 to 4 months before stick drift is the main feature. When you did the all budgets xbox controller guide I was proud to share I was in the poor man's segment having used all the recommended victims (turtle, power to name a few) until the Gamesir G7 SE vid dropped. The next day amazon dropped that game changer off(pun intended), which is still going strong(feels as good as the day it landed) with non of the usual stick stick and drift. The G7 SE impressors me so I'll be looking to aquire the G8 after the holiday experience passes by. Hope you can tell what I think of the review, thanks for sharing... "👍"...
I’ve seen other reviewers say that Backbone has a lot more support natively and just works more times than this, while if something doesn’t work here you kind of need to fiddle with manually mapping. I love the Hall effect sticks and ergonomics, but the user experience means a lot to me too. I heard the software app is a little more seamless on Backbone too. So knowing all that … I kind of pause and am not buying either until I figure out what’s more important to me. I currently have the Kishi and that’s gotten the job done at least.
You can use this with pc with the Moonlight program. Basically you can stream your pc to your phone and then the controller will work. I even got my Wii U gamepad playing fortnite with Moonlight.
Makes sense actually, I'm guessing that the USB C port is only for passthrough of charging. All you need is a USB C extension cable to the PC to make it work
With Moonlight + Sunshine you can, for example, stream your PC games to an Android device. So if connected to your big ass tv in the living room you can play there with no hassle. And with Playnite you can aggregate all launchers (steam, ea, epic, etc, even emulators) into one place. Pretty cool stuff. Gonna get my G8 for this
Thank you for making this wonderful tutorial. I just bought the Gamesir G8 and was trying it out. I have a question: how do you take out the phone safely? Do you have to wait until it goes into standby mode before taking out the phone. Also I have a hard time pulling the phone out of the movable usb port. I hope you can provide me with some helpful tips. Thank you very much.
Bro, if you wanna do the gamepad tester. Try using the female usb-c to male usb-a cable. That will work. Instead of plugging into the charging port, dude.
I'd like to see a software that allows you to customize deadzones. Minecraft, for example, has huge built-in deadzones. I'd like to see an anti-deadzone feature like what the SteamDeck has.
Have you tried plugging it into a PC using a male to female USB-C extension cable hooked up to the connector that goes into the phone, rather than the charging port?
@@GamerHeavenOfficial That's the problem, the port is for power only, to transfer input signal, you have to use the Type C jack you use to connect your phone. Using a male to female connector worked with previous type C controllers of Gamesir, it should work the same here.

To counteract the guy saying gamesir suck I will say my g2 pro has been awesome so far, much better than the backbone, I've had both and sold the backbone, everything is mush and the stick are loose AF joycon sticks, very bad. The only part gamesir sucks at is software, like most Chinese controller manufacturers.
He may have had a very bad experience, I am in the same boat as you currently. I have 6 GameSir controllers, I use 3 of them ALOT and I haven't had any issues yet :)
You do realise this has nothing remotely similar to a backbone to be called a clone, don't you? So many controllers you got there and can't even get that right... P.S: the port you tried to hook the controller to your PC is a charging port only, next time why dont you try and plug an USB-C extention into that port you plug your phone... that might help.
I hate that the USBc is on the right side. That means it won't work for folding phones. The fold would be down below the controller instead of coming out the top. Its a dumb design decision that alienates over 30 million folding phone users, all of whom have tons of money to drop....
I love how you keep calling it a backbone clone and then casually throw in that the razer Kishi is similar too. Kishi released almost 2 months before backbone did so if anything it's a kishi style controller and backbone should be the casual mention as it came later. Also kishi won awards, backbone didn't. Kishi was the market leader and first mainstream usb-c mobile controller. Backbone was the clone. Get your facts straight if you want to try to be a journalist

oh yes
@GamerHeavenOfficial sweet thanks for the video I love your channel
cod mobile compatible ?
oh, my iPhone 15 works perfectly on cod. If you're Andriod, they said you need to switch to the blue mode which is called g-touch mode.
I will stick with my cyclone instead of the serious limitations of that thing.
wasted money.
i'm definately gonna paint the face plates, the grey color is ugly
Non-symmetrical? AAAAAAAHHHGHH! 🤬
I hate that the USBc is on the right side. That means it won't work for folding phones. The fold would be down below the controller instead of coming out the top. Its a dumb design decision that alienates over 30 million folding phone users, all of whom have tons of money to drop....
i don't think a foldable phone would be a good experience anyway, since you are getting a weird square 1:1 aspect ratio
And he doesnt know what a moonlight app is and his youtube name is gamer haeven lol
Also he says he's never seen the swiveling/moving USB port on the controller but the Gamesir X2 Pro has the exact same thing
@@HappyWolf182 exactly!
@@HappyWolf182I’m assuming he hasn’t reviewed any of the other GameSir mobile controllers, since he was campaigning for them to send him an X3 in the video. I think all of their mobile controllers are better than the competition…the G7se is awesome, too. Kinda big fan of GameSir at this point.
Before all this there is ipega too.
