I got mine today. First impressions are very good (ergo, responsive sticks and buttons, screen). Only thing that I’ve noticed so far is the small menu button. Next to the left stick is difficult to get to with the thumb caps on. Thumb caps are ok, not slippy. They’ll do the job. Regards the screen, I thought I’d find this a gimmick but the menus are well designed and I enjoyed changing settings during a game. The Xbox app is ok but some settings didn’t save. Making changes via the controller screen worked perfectly. I like it a lot so far. Not used enough to see if there is any friction ring issues. Just feels very smooth at the moment.
@@thephototechyhey I have not seen you review the powerA moga xp ultra I just got that controller Thursday along with the snakebyte gamepad pro the day before and I’m really liking the xp ultra It’s fully wireless with no dongle needed was wondering if you could get one and review it
Finally a new video! I've been waiting this one. Great review! I wish more RUclipsrs would be as calm as you are. Very plesant to watch. No unnecessary humor or trying too hard. But about the controller, I do hope they add ability for macros, like programming several button presses in one button.
Hey thanks bro! I think they could've implemented macro capability, as we have a screen but Microsoft probably didn't allow. Do you know of any licensed xbox controller that can do macros? also would macros be considered cheating in multiplayer?
I got the device more than 10 days ago, and used it for 3 days, and this is my impression: Pros: 1- The thumbstick is the best ever, and it improves your accuracy in shooting games, and there is no drift, even with zero selection in the deadly point, and with the maximum speed mode, it is truly amazing and amazing. 2- The control screen is fantastic and very beautiful, it made the adjustment fast and comfortable. 3- The buttons are very great, especially the arrow buttons, I no longer make a mistake in pressing the left and up arrows, I am currently using a GameSir device, and the arrows in it are bad, when you press the left arrow, the up arrow is pressed with it!! Cons: 1- The R B and L B buttons are not prominent enough, and this is something that bothered me somewhat, sometimes you do not realize that you pressed them!! 2- The same applies to the rear wing buttons, they are not prominent and difficult to reach. 3- The hand size is a bit big, and when I hold it it is a bit uncomfortable, unlike the GameSir, the GameSir controller is very comfortable, and the size is acceptable. 4- When I was playing and the wire was connected for charging, I was subjected to continuous electric shock from the small golden circles designated for wireless charging on the back, which bothered me a lot, and I had to return the controller after using it for three days, but it seems to be a manufacturing defect. In the end, thank you, my dear brother, for the wonderful review.
I really respect this HONEST and high quality review - defo subscribing. SO SO many people are talking about that left stick issue as well, this controller needs more work and testing before release, FOR THAT PRICE.
Hey thanks bro! My left stick seems to be ok now, whatever that was rubbing probably got sanded down or something. I think it was one of the anti friction ring tab. Thanks for the sun!
the Stealth™ Pivot Wireless Smart Controller is going to be released soon . trurtle beach seem to have a superb quality in their controllers , i am interested on seeing reviews on that one even though it seems to be trying to be both a normal controller and a fighting pad . for sticks i think what works well for aiming in shooting games wotks well enough for every other type of games .
Thank you for doing this review! I love the fact that you play COD n snipe. That’s exactly what I’d be doing lol so I know I’m going to like the controller.
Hey yes I think the controller is performing really well, but keep an eye out for the left stick grinding with the anti friction ring, mine got worse today so I have to use a precision ring.
If companies instead make a screen on the controller they spend that investment on the actual controller and a separate app will be a huge big win. They should do rubber grip and better dead-zone allows us to disable
Yes 100% aggree, but I think this screen thing might be something of a new norm and everyone will be jumping on this option. For me I'd rather have a lower price but an advanced mode where we can completely disable deadzones and even decide about axial deadzones.
Had mine since friday. Heres my take perhaps it will help others. Triggers feel slow compared to my g7, bumpers feel good once they actuate but are mushy up until that point same for d pad. Sticks are amazing and tension is perfect(using skull and co caps for xbox). Best abxy buttons ive used. Back buttons seem hard to use but i dont use all 4 anyway. Using it wirelessly ive got an occasional studder (yes ive updated everything). Biggest issue is the anti friction rings. Left stick has worn from the rings friction very fast. Weight and feel is super sturdy and the grip ia surprisingly nice despite not being very grippy. Battery charge and durration seems like its not quite 30 hours and ive got all the screen and rgb settings set as low as possible
@@loitersquadX It means absolutely do not buy this controller for that absurd price until it is FAR more refined and functional. It's worth £79.99 ABSOLUTE MAX in it's current state.

Great review brother ..no thumbs stick remaping...shit..im getting mine deliver today and i need to remap the right thumb stick thats a bummer..oh well
Great review. You did not cover the onboard sound card the controller got, it got TB signature sound with footstep enhancer and other features. it’s a great addition for people using the jack port for getting sound with their headset. I don’t use it myself, but maybe you should have considered covering it? The problem with your left stick is because of a bad friction ring, you need to return your controller asap. A end note, the G7 SE is still the king PERIOD! 💯
Hey I actually tried the 3.5mm port and the sound is comparable to the elite but only in the signature preset. The epos h6 open do sound ok on it but using the mixamp or the gamedac is way better. I think I need to set a standard and compare the other controllers to it. The only third party controller that sounded good to me was the ROG Raikiri, honestly it feels like as if elite series2 get some sorta higher bandwidth sound than others. Still this one has no issues of hiss or some strange noise like some of my other third party controllers.
@@thephototechyI agree fully, you get much better sound using different equipment, but that said, for people who don’t have the money the onboard sound card on the TB Ultra with the added features is a nice bonus 💯 Myself i use a real dac and amp, I’m using full ifi setup with a Zen Can and a Zen One Signature + using DT 990 Pro 250ohms and DT 770 Pro 250ohms, this kind of setup will give you a unbeatable sound and the best part it’s not even that much more expensive then some of the top wireless headset, but you get 10 times the better sound. I understand why some people go for the cheap sound and I understand why some people buy wireless, but serious talk, try a real setup just one time and it’s near to impossible to go back.
@@goatbebryant4915 hey bro let’s not disrespect anyone. I still remember when I saw the elite series 1 for the first time, I had to save up for 5 months to get it.
@@thephototechy nah he was leaving hate comments in other youtube section just for someone reviewing this controller 🤣 I like being toxic to ppl who deserve it
No, everything worked great out of the box. I’ve used the controller for about 2 weeks and the left bumper just gave out. I also had issues with app syncing from my Xbox to controller. The settings would not save. It’s an easy fix since you set the settings from the controller itself. Really impressed with that. All in all I still recommend this controller over the elite 2z
Superb review as always! But without 1000hz and mappable R3,L3 buttons I wouldn't invest 200€. I like that they made this controller bigger than the standard xbox controller. Coming from the eswap my snakebyte feels so tiny.
@@Ashes2Ashes I know, it's mentioned in the video. It was just a personal opinion. Since I'm playing claw my dream controller setup: two extra back buttons (located middle to bottom), every button incl. D-pad mappable to back buttons. All mechanical ones and HE sticks with 0 Deadzones applied. Also must have trigger stops or better mouse button like triggers and 1000hz (wired). And one controller for PS/XBOX/PC (swappable Modules would be lit).
@@Ashes2Ashes i think they confirmed they are working on a software update that will bring it, but that doesn't mean every single controller was soldered to have r3 and l3 programability. Either way its a massive quality control overlook. also, that joystick getting dug into like that is also a quality control overlook. All im seeing is qc issues and software issues. Great professional perfect video I have two questions 1. I play competitive games and I always need the cable..I have a razer controller without battery...only with the cable...my question is if I always connect this controller with the cable I risk burning the battery? or does it block and therefore I don't risk ruining it? the second question, what type of silicone cup would you recommend me to buy to cover the analogue ones? thanks for your time
Hey bro the audio is definitely better, something I should’ve mentioned as it was able to drive the epos h6 open with good amount of volume. Sticks though, is a bit different story, if we compare G7se in 250hz then the stealth is a tad bit quicker responding, but in 1000hz G7se is something else, trust me that video comparison is coming very soon.
@@sithkegg I think Gamesir is trying their best but I have a feeling we might get that on G7 working and G7se might not be able to, coz in my rudimentary tests the G7 was super quick to respond, has me thinking if the Hall effect sticks are requiring more calculations or something. I wouldn’t put anything past gamesir, they are truly doing some great stuff.
Bro I can’t find any axial deadzones on the Gambit, they’ve only got those minimum deadzones. One thing very interesting I found on Gambit whilst testing the G7se 1000hz. Gambit cam very close to the response of the 1000hz, it’s definitely 250hz but those dual core really makes it very quick to respond. I think that’s the reason we don’t even mind those deadzones. I’ll be making a video showing my test method of shooting at 240fps and seeing result on the screen, my current screen has a lot of input lag, which is why I’m so bad at cod 😂 blaming equipment not myself. This one is definitely performing really good, but the sticks for sure feel different, my cod settings are totally different on this compared to Gambit. I don’t show my settings coz I believe they depend on ones screen setup, for me gambit worked best with dynamic or standard in cod, where as all the Hall effect controllers I can only use in linear. I think the controller is good, but I wish they had given us the true 0’deadzone option. Once I get a good monitor with low input lag, I’ll make a video comparing the controllers, hopefully be able to show some real useful results of all the controllers I have.
@@thephototechy Definately understand what you're saying therewith the gambit. There's just something about it and it's not the minimal deadzones that makes it feel very clunky on apex. It's like the only way I can describe it is that the X and Y inputs are alot faster than the diagonal inputs. Very noticeable on linear on apex. Same as bhopping/ wall jumping. Advanced movements on apex I can't seem to do it but on a standard Xbox controller and other controllers there's no issue at all. I've become so picky with controllers that I want to build my very own custom response curve from 0-100% so I can get it feeling the way I want it 😂😂 but let's be realistic here. On gamepad tester or victrix software it doesn't show that the X/Y inputs are faster it all looks fine. It's more of a "feel". I've been using the gambit for more than 2 yrs now, 5 different gambits later and I'm wanting to move on from it cause I feel it's actually a hindrance to my gameplay more than a benefit the more I'm improving in Apex 😂 Look forward to those videos man. You can find some pretty cheap monitors nowadays too. Boxing day sales coming up so that might be your chance.
@@bahgoesthesheep I know bro I nearly picked one up today, but I need a small monitor so looking at some 24” ones now. The test I did Gambit and the EswapX were very close and only a little behind the G7/G7se in 1000hz. I’m surprised how these 2 were faster than others, but I’ll be doing a detailed test once I got the monitor. It got me thinking with low input lag maybe I can play better as well 😂. I actually want to try apex but it looks so complicated man.
@@thephototechy Very interesting with the gambit since xinput shows 250-270hz. For it to be feeling like 1000hz it must have something like a custom response curve on the sticks no other controller is running. Tbh the lower input lag is definitely nice but overall it ain't going to make you cracked, Just more consistent. Apex is a bit confusing at first but it's one of the best feeling games you will play bro. They have a firing range where you can test all legends abilities. Practice with all weapons/attachments. I spend ALOT of time in there with controllers. They also have a mode called mixtape where it's your classic. (TDM, GUN RUN, DOMINATION) it's a great learning curve so you don't jump right into the battle Royale side and get overstimulated by the amount of stuff you can do 😂😂😂 apex also has a "feel" to it where no other game can replicate. The aiming/movement is second to none I really recommend it brother
Hey bro, so pro aim can be set to any of the back buttons and you get the option to cut the travel of the stick output. The output can be changed in 10% increments, so you could make it that once the pro aim initiated it'll only output 50% from the stick, which in turn would feel less sensitive and can be even set to a different amount.
Hey bro yeah sure, but settings are going to really depend on your screen setup. I’ve just learned that my monitor has a lot of input lag so what works best for me might not be suitable to others. For the stealth I was using 10-10 sensitivity with 1.45 ads and that’s with linear response curve. The minimum deadzones were set to 0 for both left and right stick, and ads transition was set to gradual. Now these numbers might look a bit odd but that’s how I got good aim experience on my screen.
Could never get mine to connect to the Xbox, even after connecting the dongle. Connected to phone once, but keeps turning off after 60 seconds. Turtle Beach never responded to my issues so returned it. Done with Turtle Beach products.
The screen is cool, rgb is looking good, far the best controller from turtle beach, this was a surprise I saw the ps5 victrix bfg controller coming to xbox, you can pre order in january 2024 Where you at in camo grinding?
Hey bro good to hear from you. This time round man I’ve been testing controllers so much that didn’t get a chance to do camos yet, definitely losing to my brother this year 😂. The stealth is definitely and amazing controller and honestly the performance is superb as well. I’ll be making a comparison with the EswapX after holidays as I believe these 2 kinda go head to head in 4 back buttons and performance.

Hey I usually play without the rumble but I tested the motors and the triggers one feel same as the elite to me, but the left grip one has the same feeling as the right one, whereas on elite the left one feels a bit different for I believe different effects, it could be just me though who’s feeling the difference.
Bro I’m worried about this, I’ve put a precision ring and reduced in game max deadzones. Pet of me wants to keep using without precision ring and see what’s the worst outcome but it’s an expensive controller to take the chance. No other reviews mentioned this, so I’m thinking of contacting turtlebeach and see what they say.
@@BloodHound19 yeah I haven’t tried the doc connected tbh, I did try the dongle and that turns the Xbox on. Wireless was not a very good experience for me, but I think that’s due to my monitor increased input lag, something I didn’t know until I was testing the G7se 1000hz difference.
@@thephototechy oh very interesting so after your review and watching it I don’t know if I want to spend the 200 now just cuz of that problem your getting with the left stick i think I might go with the snake byte it cheaper and it has a 5 year warranty which you just can’t beat even so u do you like wired more then wireless connection
my problem with this controller is that it is very light and I like heavy controllers like the elite and the edge, another problem is the sensitivity it worked very well for me but now I feel that it has too much sensitivity I even calibrate the joysticks and it still does the same thing to me same, my aim is very bad now in mw3 and warzone
Hey bro so currently I was trying all my controllers to make a comparison with Gamesir G7/G7se 1000hz vs others, I’ve put the video on hold coz that update was pulled. After using all of them I’ve kept the G7/G7se(in 1000hz), the EswapX and the stealth Ultra. Tbh the stealth Ultra is really good and if they had given an advanced mode with 0 deadzone and a true raw output then this would be the ultimate choice. Unfortunately even a little register at rest and it’s considered drift, when that’s not the case as springs lose tension and never recenter properly, so manufacturers have started using base level deadzones and imo it’s a downgrade. Hopefully the 1000hz update for the G7/G7se comes out soon coz that’s definitely an advantage on those controllers.
I dont know how complex it would be to implement but it would be very cool if you could play some simple mini games independently on the controller on its display, such a great concept I came up with, to be honest
Hey PhotoTechy, across either PS5 or xbox platforms, are there any third party controllers that allow you to invert x and y axis for at least the right joystick. You confirmed for me recently that the latest Bacon PS5 controller had this functionality only for it to be removed shortly after launch.. still the case I'm presuming?
Hey sorry just seen the comment, Nacon actually added the feature back after an update, also they just released another update where we get the option to truly disable minimum deadzones.
Is this easy to remap back paddles with Rewasd ? The elite 2 has direct mapping menu for back paddles in REWASD which makes it so easy. Prefer REWASD instead of native remapping because it's easy to export mapping settings to other controllers ;)
in general when it comes to respone time on controllers. Does the sticks, triggers and buttons have different ms or does the response time test with the sticks apply to everything?
That’s such an interesting question coz I was thinking the same thing when testing the G7se 1000hz. I think the type of switches used and the on board processing definitely played a part, it’s one thing the controller talking to the console 250 times a second, but how’s the controller taking the input command from user and sending it to the console. I tried testing the button presses in the VPC joystick tester software on G7se, and saw very similar results in 1000hz and 250hz, but there were some higher figures every now and then in 250hz.
@@Kaka99296 xinput is only testing the sticks and I believe the reason is the sticks are at a constant, where other buttons might have their own delay due mechanism I-e tact switch, metal domed conductor or membrane switches. I haven’t seen a testing method for measuring the buttons response, it might be the reason why Microsoft controllers are at 8ms response as having lower probably means nothing for the other inputs apart from the sticks. When I tried testing the buttons by spamming in a software I got a difference between presses of more than 10-20 ms at times, so the 3ms definitely is for the sticks only and buttons I can’t say for sure.
Beware the quality. The sticks start leaning after a short amount of use. My right stick was stuck leaning to the left. I'm returning it and going for fusion pro 3. The stealth ultra was great for a short time, but that is all. It's not worth the price because the quality will not last.
Trying to find a controller with 4 back paddles Hall effect sticks and 100hz response time.. I play on Xbox my questions is.. is every controller capped at 250hz. Currently play with the victrix gambit.. does this turtle beach feel as responsive as the gambit does on Xbox ????
Hey for me personally the elite 2 has been a bad experience, I did make a video on the issues as well. I think the ultra is better for sure, but the back pedals on the elite are the best for simultaneous use. I’ll be making a video comparing the 2.
@@TheJms1977 hey thanks for letting me know bro, I think I’m a bit rough coz mine got a bit of a dent that’s very awkward feeling now, funny the right one glides so smooth.
In regards to your left thumbstick and the anti friction ring, can't you remove the face plate and remove the anti friction ring and place it back like with the game sir G7 se ?
Hey so the faceplate is not removable, I can’t pry the ring off either like I was with elite series 2. For now I’ve put a precision ring and reduced the max deadzone in game. I think it can potentially get worse with use, I’ll definitely will be keeping a close eye on this.
Good review, it’s never a good idea to have forced deadzones. To me it’s kind of dishonest. I’ve seen so many people who say the gambit and other controllers have no drift at 0 deadzone, but they fail to realize it has a inherent deadzone that you can’t remove, to do exactly that, trick people into thinking it has perfect centering, and there are games that force their own deadzone that you can’t always remove either, so you’re just stacking up those values. Forcing axial deadzones is just ridiculous as well, you should always give the customer a choice! Also the thumbsticks reaching 100% before the gate is bad calibration. All that does is reduce the amount of useable movement from the stick, creating a deadzone on the outer sticks movement, resulting in an accelerated response curve, it probably does not bother you as much because you use a precision ring, which eliminates you being able to use that outer range anyway, but for people who don’t, they will definitely notice their sensitivity feeling faster. The gambit is almost calibrated perfect, reaching 100% right at the end of the gates, which gives a more smooth, slower response. And I see that they added a software outer deadzone once again, to trick people into thinking their sticks are calibrated perfectly with the almighty 0% error, circularity is not nearly as important as people think, but turtle beach knows that’s what people look for. Honestly this controller isn’t worth it imo, the screen is kind of gimmicky, it’s not necessary at all, it’s just “cool”, how much is that screen contributing to that 200$…. probably a lot, not to mention another fragile thing that can break if you drop it. This controller gives the illusion of true performance with the forced deadzones ect…. but in reality, it could be hurting your performance. It’s preying on the hall effect hype, with the little “anti drift” writing on the shell, but it’s masking the issues that come with hall effect, with the forced deadzones, and artificial circularity. If you write “anti drift” on your controller, why are you putting a untouchable deadzone on the controller? Deadzones are for controllers that drift right? Is that to cover up your lies turtle beach? Hall effect is not anti drift. These companies are very clever, and dishonest/misleading. I feel bad for my fellow gamers who just don’t know any better, or aren’t fully informed. Sorry for the rant, great video!
Bro you don’t have to be sorry at all, very valid points. I’ve said this in previous videos that I myself prefer a raw output, where the actual thumbstick gate makes the maximum input threshold, but that’d mean not a perfect circle as we have 2 axis and going max values in all directions will make a square. The sticks reaching 100% before the thumbstick gate seems to be present in a lot of other controllers I have, also I’ve noticed when potentiometer sticks get older they sorta lose resolution and reach that 100% way before the boundary, something a recalibration option can help with. For me personally I like what gamesir is doing with the ability to completely disable the deadzone, also through recalibration one can chose a new centre point on their controllers, but they are targeting a different price segment. I was doing some tests for G7se 1000hz and found that it was on the slower side with 250hz, but enabling 1000hz makes a huge difference on that controller, funny enough the Gambit with its built in deadzone came the closes to the 1000hz of the G7se. It’ll be a very interesting video and I’m thinking of including those kind of tests in the future reviews. Thanks for taking the time and sharing your thoughts, I’m trying to do the same thing so all of us gamers can have the best possible performing equipment, and in doing so make our lobbies harder and harder 😂.
g7se has zero drift at zero dead zones, and it feels like its true zero dead zones. I had to add 1 dead zone in game on left stick bcuz it was just a tad too sensitive to the micro movements. The triggers are so sensitive I've had to add dead zones as well which is super nice that I have the control of how much pressure is needed to actuate the trigger. 0 is basically breath on it and its actuating I have my trigger dead zones at 4 comfortably on the left and 3 on the right. I have the elite series 2. and i cannot lower the deadzones in game less than 4 on left and 2 on right. I can go zero for left and right and have zero drift on the g7se it's just a tad too sensitive for my liking on the movement stick. so I use 1 left dead zone 0 right dead zone with the g7se.

Hello, I would like to ask if it's normal that after calibrating the sticks, I am getting around a 13% average error. However, when I tested the controller for the first time without calibration, I was getting around 1-1.2% error. Is this discrepancy typical?
Hey so after the recent update they changed the output a little bit, I made a video explaining that. before to get that low number there was some deadspace between the radial deadzone and the actual thumbstick gate, they've just decided to fill that space. @@thephototechy Thank you for the quick response, I just wanted to seek advice on what it means for me. I apologize in advance for taking up your time, but I recently bought the controller, and after the update, I was concerned. I play a lot of FPS games like Call of Duty, Apex, and R6. In the video, you mentioned that it's a good step forward, but I'm not entirely sure if it's the right direction for me. I have six days to return the controller without providing reasons, but I've grown accustomed to mechanical buttons and minimal stick dead zone. I've searched a lot on the internet, but you're the only one who could help me. Could you please advise me if the update is beneficial for the games I play? Thank you in advance, and I apologize again.
@@roumis.4 hey so prior to this update the only difference was the diagonals were a bit inwards, now they have more of a standard sticks response, something every other HE sticks I’ve tried are missing. If you are looking for the older slower diagonals feel then Gamesir G7se and snakebyte gamepad pro will suit you better, but the difference is very subtle. One thing keep in mind is the stick tension, turtlebeach has baked in deadzones of what feels like 3%, so when the sticks run in the controller does feel a bit different. Another thing I’ve discovered on mine is an uneven response resolution on my right stick, I’ve made a video on this as well. My controller has more input register on left and bottom compared to top and right, I actually find it very unique as it helps with recoil control somewhat 😂. My advice would be to return it if you are feeling the change is too much, as I haven’t seen way to revert to the older radial outer deadzone response.
@@thephototechy Thanks again for the quick response. Originally, I wanted to buy the Gamesir G7 SE, but the Turtle Beach Ultra appealed to me more because of the number of buttons on the back of the controller and the adjustable length of the RT/LT press. However, after sending the response, I turned on Call of Duty and realized that setting the maximum deadzone to 97/98% significantly improves movement. I'll probably keep it; I can't let go of the mechanical buttons 😂😁. Thank you very much for the advice.

@@stevenspencer5979 Nacon Rev 5 is one of the best feeling controller in terms of ergonomics and the premium feeling, but it has larger than needed forced deadzones. Stealth ultra also has some but feel much smaller compared to the Nacon. I used the Nacon on PS5 and to me it feels like Sony somehow has the third party controllers performing worse, as the Xbox version performs better. I haven’t tried it on PC so can’t say what it’ll be like, but personally I had more fun on the turtlebeach stealth ultra. When I reviewed the Nacon it was still the mw2 days, ttk in that game was quicker than mw3, when I tried playing MW3 with the Nacon Rev 5 it felt different, also the dualsense edge just beats everything on ps5 as it’s a 1000hz as standard. My advice for pc would be to look at something that can be overclocked but if you want to chose between stealth or rev5, I’d say stealth win for sure.
@@thephototechy yeah so far nothing has me wanting to change from the eswap x pro, the TB just lacks a bit of fps performance, they could have made it a more competitive controller instead of investing in all the gimmicks, still looks great though but seems like a downgrade for me.
@@stevenspencer5979 I’d like to see a modular approach with sticks and advanced options. So someone can have the Hall effect and others can chose potentiometer, with advanced options we should be able to completely disable deadzones and change the response of the sticks to our liking. The problem is generally people think even a slight movement of the aim at rest is drift, when that’s just not true, as it’s not game breaking, so to get a 0 drift at rest we need them deadzones. The amount of time I’ve replied to comments saying recenter spring not being totally centre is not drift as it won’t be game breaking. I’m about to release my EswapX review very soon and I really do love that controller. I’ll be doing a head to head of that with this at some point as well.
For me personally yes, but that’s due to me having issues with my series 2. If the elite didn’t have that bad stick slop I’d say it’d stand a chance against this. Thanks for the question i think it makes for a good video.

Really for me feel the g7 se better not the controller butt more the feeling ingame me iam accuraat is better with g7 se then compared the ultra and later have the g7se the 1000 hz and ultra not
1000hz is nice and may "feel" better but just like 300+ FPS, your eyes can't actually tell the difference. Its more of a gimmick that plays off of placebo effect than anything. Sure, it technically is better, but it's beyond what humans can differ.
I was thinking the same that its a placebo with 1000hz on G7se, untill I did some high speed screen recordings with a camera. I'll be making a detailed video compring G7/G7se in 1000hz on xbox vs others, just waiting on the rerelease of the update.
Hey they both are usig the Ksilver JH16 modules. G7se allows us to completely disable minimum deadzones also has no axial deadzones. I'll be maing a video comparing these 2 just for aiming.
Hey Turtlebeach has base level deazones that are still present when we disable them. I think they are around 3%, out of the box they felt a bit strange but with the sticks spring losing some tension, I don't mind them. The axial deadzones on the Ultra didn't seem to bother me either, but I've read threads and comments where people really dislike them.
@@thephototechy thats i think thats why g7se feel better for me i play always on 0 deadzone ingame have i also always 0 ultra feel for me to much tight in the sticks
The quality control on this thing is terrible. Not having ls and rs programability from the get go is a massive overlook in the qc department. The stick issue you have where it digs into the stick is UNEXEPTABLE. I've seen issues with the bumpers being super loose. The back buttons only allowing 1 button at a time and not multiple presses. Much of this seems to be software issues. The R3 and l3 programmability could be more than just a software thing if they weren't soldered to be programmable a software update isn't going to bring it. Even if the software update does bring l3 and r3 programability its still a massive quality control L for them.
Hey we just got the stick button mapping to back buttons. I tried the multiple back buttons input and I'm able to do them perfectly. I think there must be a bad batch out there with button issues. Seems its a new norm for a new product to have some serious issues.
The controller advertises 0 deadzone, and at 0 deadzone you have stick drift with both sticks. It gets worse as you use it, plus the left stick feels more loose than the right. I've already bought and sent back 4. Its no different than the Series 2, just cheaper parts and more big words that are complete lies. If you don't want 0 deadzone, you'll love it. But for something that says it has no stick drift and costs 200 dollars, I wouldn't spend money on it anymore. Luckily I get my money back from the free returns. Shit company.
Hey glad you like it and thank you so much for sharing, it really helps me and other gamers like us.

Thanks for the in-depth review. I got mine today and highly recommended! Feels amazing!
I got the device more than 10 days ago, and used it for 3 days, and this is my impression:
Pros:
1- The thumbstick is the best ever, and it improves your accuracy in shooting games, and there is no drift, even with zero selection in the deadly point, and with the maximum speed mode, it is truly amazing and amazing.
Cons:
1- The R B and L B buttons are not prominent enough, and this is something that bothered me somewhat, sometimes you do not realize that you pressed them!!
Instant sub and waiting for some tech reviews from you. Good job
the Stealth™ Pivot Wireless Smart Controller is going to be released soon . trurtle beach seem to have a superb quality in their controllers , i am interested on seeing reviews on that one even though it seems to be trying to be both a normal controller and a fighting pad .
for sticks i think what works well for aiming in shooting games wotks well enough for every other type of games .

Yeah I remember reading about it but there was no info on back buttons or anything else
@@thephototechy Oh man, I had the same problem with the victrix Gambit
If companies instead make a screen on the controller they spend that investment on the actual controller and a separate app will be a huge big win. They should do rubber grip and better dead-zone allows us to disable
This
Yes 100% aggree, but I think this screen thing might be something of a new norm and everyone will be jumping on this option.
Is the anti friction ring going to mean we need to buy another controller after ? Or will this last long. I'm nervous

Hey they’ve added that feature since then so thumbstick buttons can be mapped to the rear ones.
why you can't use a wired headset to chat is beyond me, whats the point of the headphone jack then?
@@thephototechyI agree fully, you get much better sound using different equipment, but that said, for people who don’t have the money the onboard sound card on the TB Ultra with the added features is a nice bonus 💯
Myself i use a real dac and amp, I’m using full ifi setup with a Zen Can and a Zen One Signature + using DT 990 Pro 250ohms and DT 770 Pro 250ohms, this kind of setup will give you a unbeatable sound and the best part it’s not even that much more expensive then some of the top wireless headset, but you get 10 times the better sound.
I understand why some people go for the cheap sound and I understand why some people buy wireless, but serious talk, try a real setup just one time and it’s near to impossible to go back.

Great controller. Unfortunately my LB button has already broke. Trying to get it replaced from turtle beach is a bit of wait.
Woah, did you feel the bumper a bit off out of box?
No, everything worked great out of the box. I’ve used the controller for about 2 weeks and the left bumper just gave out.
I also had issues with app syncing from my Xbox to controller. The settings would not save. It’s an easy fix since you set the settings from the controller itself. Really impressed with that. All in all I still recommend this controller over the elite 2z
Superb review as always! But without 1000hz and mappable R3,L3 buttons I wouldn't invest 200€. I like that they made this controller bigger than the standard xbox controller. Coming from the eswap my snakebyte feels so tiny.
Just as an fyi, TB confirmed a firmware update is coming very soon with mapping of L3 and R3 as part of it.

Another great review, thanks! How’s the audio quality and stick performance compared to G7 SE?
Hey bro the audio is definitely better, something I should’ve mentioned as it was able to drive the epos h6 open with good amount of volume. Sticks though, is a bit different story, if we compare G7se in 250hz then the stealth is a tad bit quicker responding, but in 1000hz G7se is something else, trust me that video comparison is coming very soon.

Would you say the axial deadzones on this controller have a similar feel to the victrix gambit. Just with a smaller inner deadzone?
Great video mate
I've been using the gambit for more than 2 yrs now, 5 different gambits later and I'm wanting to move on from it cause I feel it's actually a hindrance to my gameplay more than a benefit the more I'm improving in Apex 😂
Look forward to those videos man.
@@bahgoesthesheep bro I didn’t know about the domination and other modes, man I’m downloading it tonight 😂
How do you compare it to the gamesir SE?
Hey hello. I would like to know how the Pro Aim feature in the controller works and how to use. Thanks
I would like to know what kind of cod settings you use for aim. It looks pretty solid for tou
@@thephototechyyou use precision rings? What’s you aiming settings in game?

@@thephototechy Thanks for the reply. I cant wait!
Curious to know what your go-to controller is at the moment for CoD etc?
Love it
Thanks bro!
I dont know how complex it would be to implement but it would be very cool if you could play some simple mini games independently on the controller on its display, such a great concept I came up with, to be honest

in general when it comes to respone time on controllers.
@@thephototechy so when an controller has 3 ms it applies only to the stick and not the triggers and buttons aswell? Sorry didnt quite get the answer

Is the stealth good enough for multieplayer response time in wired use and have need the dongel when i play wired ?
Wtf

Do you prefer it over the elite 2?
Hello, I would like to ask if it's normal that after calibrating the sticks, I am getting around a 13% average error. However, when I tested the controller for the first time without calibration, I was getting around 1-1.2% error. Is this discrepancy typical?
Hey so after the recent update they changed the output a little bit, I made a video explaining that. before to get that low number there was some deadspace between the radial deadzone and the actual thumbstick gate, they've just decided to fill that space. For me personally its an upgrade, u can check my video below.

I haven't played with the controller for such a long time to be able to assess its functionality 100% regarding the new update.
Has anyone had problems updating the firmware for the transmitter dongle? I cannot get mine to update, it errors out each time. I've tried updating from both xbox & pc with the same results.
Hey mine did the first update with no issues, but I haven’t tried the one that came yesterday as I only updated the controller.
@@thephototechy I've been able to update the controller with both updates, but the transmitter errors out each time.
did you enjoy the nacon or TB more?
Hey do you mean Nacon Rev 5 or Nacon Rev X?
@@thephototechy the newer he one
Would we consider this an upgrade from the elite?
For me personally yes, but that’s due to me having issues with my series 2. If the elite didn’t have that bad stick slop I’d say it’d stand a chance against this. Thanks for the question i think it makes for a good video.
@@thephototechy really for me feel the g7 se better in iaming feeling ingame then the ultra and later have it 1000 hz to g7 se
Una pregunta, cual es el mando con menor zona muerta?
Hey so standard controllers don't have deadzones and elite series 2 is the same. Also Gamesir allow a true 0 deadzone option on the G7/G7se.
Have he got lower input lag than elite2?
Can this controller work with Nintendo switch?
Just waitng on the new gambit coming out
Hey they have announced the BFG for Xbox

Do you know what Quality Control actually means?
The controller advertises 0 deadzone, and at 0 deadzone you have stick drift with both sticks. It gets worse as you use it, plus the left stick feels more loose than the right. I've already bought and sent back 4. Its no different than the Series 2, just cheaper parts and more big words that are complete lies. If you don't want 0 deadzone, you'll love it. But for something that says it has no stick drift and costs 200 dollars, I wouldn't spend money on it anymore. Luckily I get my money back from the free returns. Shit company.
