I work for one of the companies that might have built this boat. These guys live their entire lives preparing for the absolute worst case scenario. Every day, whether at shore or underway, they are performing drill after drill after drill FOREVER. A sub’s greatest enemy is not a torpedo or whatever, it’s the sea herself.

Mye Flatley I miss the camaraderie. I also miss the lack of BS I used to deal with in contrast to the surface Navy.

@@lolok3078 I was on the surface. I had nonstop spy action from everyone I turned to. It was unfriendly and sickening. I wonder if the subs would have been the same. I went out to Point Loma sub base last year, same thing as the surface, 41 years later!

@@myeflatley1150 But that's just part of "life in a blue suit". I loved my time in the Andrew.

@@TheRealist2022 Yes, that makes sense. I think Navy Intelligence is over concerned about themselves and not enough concerned about the success of the individual sailor. I wish I had had at least one stint in the subs. (I had asked.) I was so abused on the surface that I now receive VA compensation for what Navy Intel did when I was on the surface. There was no camaraderie for this sailor.
